Most people would consider this to be deceptive marketing practice,    granted they will eventually inform you that debit card users are ineligible for 30 day free trial,   what they dont tell you is that debit card users can not get free trial during the purchase process,  you will enter your name address, and credit card info,  they have 2 different pages of information you have to fill out  in which time they do not mention it on the main part of the website or the first page were you enter your name and address,  they will let you know that the free trial does not apply to debit card holders on the 2nd page  and in an email confirmation that tells you how much you will be billed. but they do say that you get the 30 day money back promise still.

Each of these WordPress plugins are used on my site and I personally recommend each of them to you. The following plugins are posted in the order that I recommend them.

1.W3 Total Cache – This WordPress plugin is great for two reasons. First, it makes your pages load way faster. Second, since it stores static versions of your site, it requires much less CPU processing than using WordPress all by itself. this plugin is a little more advanced, if you are a novice user you could try WP Super Cachealtho i would not recommend it. because once you get wp super cache installed it is hard to remove.

2.HeadSpace2: WordPress SEO - Recently for the year 2011 i used all in one Seo plugin which is ok, but its more for the novice user, not much to set up and easy, HeadSpace provides you with the features you need to drive your site to the top. People spend way to much time working on SEO and too little time writing great content. This plugin let’s you put your focus back where it belongs. But is more for advanced users, it takes a little time setting up.

4.BackupBuddy – This WordPress plugin is far superior then any other plugin that i have seen on the market today, you can only find the plugin on their website and not wordpresses, thats because you have to pay for this plugin, it cost only 75.00 but worth every penny, this plugin not only backups your database but it backs up all theme files, all your plugins, all your images, backs up everything, they have made it so easy that the novice user can use this plugin.

5.Fast Secure Contact Form – This gem is amazing for a contact form, it has everything imaginable no other plugin even comes close to what this one can do, it also allows you to set up when someone uses the form to contact you it will automatically send them a confirmation email, theirs allot of bells and whistles but can be geared towards the advance user and difficult to set up.

6.Thank Me Later – This plugin is great. It sends an email to all first-time visitors. You can write up the email to remind them about your RSS feed or just to invite them to connect with you personally. altho i would not set it up to send as soon as the person leaves a comment because that just seems a little to impersonal, i would have it send them a thank you email a day or 2 later.

7.WP Customer Reviews- If you are like me you want a review section on your website were users can give their feedback or opinions about anything, then this is the plugin for you, this is the best customer reviews plugin out their, i have tried them all and nothing stands up or comes close to this plugin, its totally packed with a bunch of featatur.

8.Twit Connect- This plugin is awsome, its one of the best out their if you want to allow users to login to your blog via twitter, the author of this plugin is great, if you have any issues he will do is best to troubleshoot the issue with ya, he helped me out when trying to figure out why the plugin wouldnt work with SSL.

9.LightBox Plus- If you are wanting to have your images pop up larger then what is displayed on the blog , then you might want to take a look at this plugin, its a small plugin with little features but it does what ya want it to do and its the best that i have seen, I am not a big fan of the nextgen plugin that also does the same, the way it works is you have a smaller image on the blog and once you click on it, it opens into a large image.

10.WordPress Access Control- This plugin is a powerful tool which gives you fine grained control over your pages and posts (and custom post types), allowing you to restrict a page, post, or custom post type to members, non-members, or even specific roles. You can customize how these pages and posts show up in search results, where users are directed when they visit them, and much more. You can even make your entire blog members only!. I have searched all over for a members plugin and this is the best that i have seen, it allows you to create a download page and restrict it to memebers only or any other page that you want.

11.DoFollow plugin- I have just about tested all of the do follow plugins out their and this one is by far the best one i have found, The dofollow plugin for WordPress lets you remove the evil no follow attribute from your comments.

12.Google Sitemap XML- This is another powerful seo tool that is a must if you would like to get noticed in google, This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to better index your blog. I have tried other sitemap generators but this one is by far the best.

13.Sharedaddy- This plugin allows you to Share your posts with Twitter, Facebook, and a host of other services. You can configure services to appear as icons, text, or both. Some services have additional options to display smart buttons, such as Twitter, which will update the number of times the post has been shared.

14.Broken Link Checker-This plugin will monitor your blog looking for broken links and let you know if any are found.A very useful plugin that checks your whole blog for any broken links, and gives you the chance to fix them from its interface directly. Definitely a must have plugin if you have a blog with many posts.

User Avatar- If you are wanting to let your users choose and upload their own avatar this is the best plugin for that, i have not known it to be incompatible with other plugins, the other avatar plugin called local avatar was conflicting with every plugin i had, so i uninstalled it and searched until i found the best one.

These plugins listed below are the ones that i would stay away from and do not recommend, if you know of any to add to the list let me know.

1. Simple Facebook Connect – This Plugin is not compatible with certain other plugins and the developer of this plugin is rude, and said he could careless if anyone uses his plugin, he is also not willing to make his plugin compatible with any other plugin. and is not compatible with the Fast and secure contact form plugin.

2. WP Super Cache – This Plugin is very difficult to uninstall once you have it installed.

3. Maintenance Mode – This Plugin is broken, the developer has not updated this plugin since oct 2010, and is not compatible with wordpress 3.3 or later until the plugin is fixed, you will get a general_template.php error.

Instructions for number Porting

Step 1.   Login to your online magic jack account, if you just bought your device and want to port your number i would suggest registering your device first and choose a number so you can create and login to your account..by clicking link below

Step 2   once your logged in you will click on the subscription tab as shown below.

Step 3.  once your logged in and have clicked on subscription  if you have multiple devices you will want to choose your number if you only have 1 number you wont have to do this

Step 4.  once you choose your number you will want to choose option 3 as shown below and click on details for number porting…

Step 5. After you click on details it will being you to the next screen and you will want to click on transfer my number..

Step 6. After you have selected transfer my number a screen will pop up all you have to do is enter the number that you want to port and follow the prompts and your done,   to port your number can take up to 10 buisness days and if your number is eligible to be ported you will receaive an email from magic jack requesting 20.00 for the number porting fee….

Dec 12, 2011

Magic Jack will no longer port anyone number for them via live chat,  the only way to port your number now is through your online account, so if  you try to port your number and it gives you a message while porting saying can not be ported, magic jack will not be of any help they will just ask you to try resubmitting the port request,  but usually if the porting of your number will not submit that means your number is not eligible to be ported..

But now with this magic jack app out for ipad and ipod touch they are going to be competition for the skype application that is available,   download the Magic Jack app

This also means theoretically drop to the cheapest available iPhone voice plan, but we aware of the charges as i mentioned,   It also gives iPad and fourth-generation iPod Touch users an option for totally free phone service.  If you currently subscribe to magic jack service you can run the app and login to your online account immediately and have access to your contact list ect. it will also give you  2 other options when you run the app for the first time.

If you’re not already a MagicJack customer, you can quickly sign up for an account, and get a new phone number.   That “number” is actually a 10-digit code that callers need to punch in after calling a main MagicJack number–also this number is not explained anywhere within the app. (Nor is the number listed; it’s 305-848-TALK.).

I wanted to inform everyone that has a iphone 4s that the magic jack app will not work with these phones as of right now,   magic jack is aware of this issue,   you can download the app but when you try to install it all you are going to get is an error message.

Thanks to everyone who is giving their input and helping others try to solve this,  Thanks to a user who spent time experimenting he had came up with this solution,  you can try it out and if it doesnt work for you then please notify me or post comment and let me know. the steps you can try are below.

1. Delete the Magic Jack app and all data
2. Reboot the phone
3. Reinstall the app

4. Last step is to try and launch the app and login to your account,  by this time it should be allowing you to login.

Tutorial For Setting up to router.

Be sure to first connect device directly to computer in order to register, you can not register device by connecting to router.

First Step:    Plus your Magic Jack Device into the AC Adapter

Step Two:    Plug the long Ethernet cable into the bigger port on your router

Step Three: Plug the other end of the cable from the Magic Jack into your Router in any port Labeled 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 port on your router.

Step Four:   Plug your phone cord into the smaller port on the Magic Jack Device

Step Five:    Register your Device by selecting that you do not want a vanity number then select that you want the last 4 digits of the number automatically assigned.

Be very careful when navigating the registration screens. Most of them have an up-sell button and of course, it is the biggest. If you don’t pay attention you could be signing up for more than you expected. The above screen shot is one of the less egregious examples. At the end of the process you should have a phone number and online account. Also, be sure to use the address where you expect to use the magicJack, when you sign up. This address will be used for the E911 service.
