What’s the secret of the Criss Angel walks on water magic trick? How he does it? The secret will most likely points to illusion and camera video editing. The most convincing explanation to the trick is that Criss Angel was walking on some kind of floating device, or plexiglass, or perspex platform, or transparent plastic bridge, or glass path, or vertical poles, which may have some gaps for swimmers to occasionally swim across it. Some also suggested that wires support was been used to hang him, which may be positioned under his arm, especially on the first 25 seconds or so. For all these tricks and optical illusion to happen, so all the ‘audiences’ and ’swimmers’ in the video are actually the actors in the magic that were hired to add realistic and believable feel. The video may be edited by using CGI to hide the think platform in the water.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some even suggested that the shots were taken on different times that is edited together to give you that illusion of reality. The theory is that because at some times he demonstrated no weight hitting the surface, while on the far away shots, his weight is visible as he hits a surface. Another theory is that the toes on his back foot bend as walking on a flat surface, while on another sequence of the video which supposedly shot from Criss Angel’s camera as he looks down while walking, his toes no longer bend. This magic theory summarily said that during normal angles of video shooting, Criss was walking on plexiglass under the water surface, but for the video angles above him and shoot from Criss’s point-of-view angles were done when he was hanging above the water.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some interesting points highlighted from the video on the magic are:&lt;br /&gt;

1. Criss Angel walked on his heels and his pant hung down and covered the heels.&lt;br /&gt;
2. His walking style looks unreal and unnatural on the front part of the magic.&lt;br /&gt;
3. The girl in red bikini swam underneath the water instead of crossing the path.&lt;br /&gt;
4. Water line on his pants changed, if you believe that the magic sequence was shot in multiple times.&lt;br /&gt;
5. A girl crossed between his legs after he took down his shoes, so the area may be without any platform.&lt;br /&gt;
6. In some shots, Criss Angel didn’t show weight hitting or weight shifting when stepped down, which made suspension possible.&lt;br /&gt;
7. The &lt;b&gt;Effect&lt;/b&gt;: Take a rubber band and thread a borrowed finger ring onto it. The ring is sitting in the center of the band, but then slowly creeps up the rubber band, all by itself!&lt;br /&gt;

What You Need: A rubber band, not a real thick one, and a borrowed ring.&lt;br /&gt;

The &lt;b&gt;Method&lt;/b&gt;: This trick &lt;b&gt;almost &lt;/b&gt;works by itself. Actually, the rubber band does the trick, but you take the credit! Break the rubber band. You now have a long piece. Borrow a ring. Thread the ring onto the rubber band, but stretch the rubber band (not all the way; about 12&quot; between your hands) and keep most of the rubber band in your left hand. When you do this, you will have a long, loose piece dangling hidden in your left palm. The spectators won&#39;t see this as the back of your hands are towards them. Your hands should be at the same level so that the rubber band is horizontal. &lt;br /&gt;
Make sure that the ring is closer to right fingers, but not touching the fingers, about an inch away. Raise your right hand and allow the ring to fall towards your left hand and say, &quot;Anyone can make the ring fall down. But I can make the ring fall up!&quot; Allow the ring to fall within an inch of your left fingertips. Gently ease the grip on the rubber band with your left fingers allowing the rubber band to slide between your left fingertips. Don&#39;t worry; they won&#39;t see this. It is a shame he did not feel he could show the illusion without the use of camera trickery. It really is a great effect and so simple to do, with a little practice &lt;b&gt;magic&lt;/b&gt; !&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
THE EFFECT: Amaze and amuse your friends and family with your new found ability to levitate. Gently rise about 3 - 5 inches off the ground!&lt;br /&gt;

THE &lt;i&gt;SECRET&lt;/i&gt;: Stand about 8 - 10 feet in front of your spectators with your back to them and at a 45 degree angle &lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;to their view point (main pic). Basically you push yourself up on your tip toes of one foot, but keep the other straight parallel with the floor. Depending on what foot you feel most comfortable lifting your body up with, this foot will be hidden to the spectators.&lt;br /&gt;

I use my left foot to make me levitate so I turn 45 degrees to the right of my spectators view point. That way they can see the whole of my right foot and just the heel of my left foot. When I push up on the tip toes of my left foot the view point is such that spectators can not see it!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At their angle it looks like I am levitating. They can not see my supporting foot because it is hidden by three things my trousers, the angle of the trick and my right shoe which hides their view of the left foot being used to levitate me.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In reality you might only rise &lt;b&gt;3 - 5 inches&lt;/b&gt; off the ground, but it&#39;s all in your presentation! People swear you went higher. Slowly rise off the ground, wait a few seconds and then drop fast. Stay up too long and they may figure it out.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;color: red;&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;TIP:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Keep your heels together while levitating, this protects your angle. Also put your arms out straight, this gives a better effect than if they are by your sides.&lt;br /&gt;

THE &lt;i&gt;EFFECT&lt;/i&gt;: You have a cigarette in your mouth (can be anything else like a toothpick). You take the cigarette and start to balance it on your tongue! Then you move your hand magically up and down in the air and it starts moving up and down!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now, you take the cigarette and balance it on the tip of your finger and it starts to wiggle up and down again! Suddenly, you take your hand away and it hovers in mid air. You make &lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;a circle with your fingers around it... there can&#39;t be any string! Next it starts moving in a circle in front of you, going to face level and down to the floor! Finally for the finishing act you make the cigarette float back into your mouth and walk away, or put it back in a container!&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
THE &lt;b&gt;SECRET&lt;/b&gt;: Invisible thread (You can get some HERE). Take a long piece of invisible string from the top of your belly to your feet. Now, take one side, and tape it/tie it to the center of the cigarette. Take the other side and connect it with a small piece of &lt;a href=&quot;http://trickmagicians.blogspot.com/&quot;&gt;magicians&lt;/a&gt; wax or tape to your right thumb nail.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now, this part is a little confusing, but let the cigarette hang from the string connected to your thumb. Next, get your thumb and bring it to your forehead. Now, run your thumb and string across the center of your forehead all the way to the back where your neck stars.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now move your hand across the side of your neck down to your body. So... the cigarette should now be hanging from your head, if you move your hand up, the cigarette should move down, and if you move your hand down it should rise.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Take the cigarette with your hand that does not have string and put it in your mouth as you would a normal one. Now turn to your side so the wax on your thumb isn&#39;t showing. Now with the other hand that doesn&#39;t have the wax (left hand), put it on your tongue. If your right hand is at the right level, it should balance because of the string holding it! now do the same with your finger balancing it and have fun with the rest!&lt;br /&gt;

Effect:&lt;br /&gt;
Have someone mentally select a name (or object, or favorite sports team ). Give them a writing pad with five lines drawn and ask them to write the chosen name on one of the lines. Then, four other unrelated names on the &lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;other lines.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Take the pad.. study it.. audibly call out a name and announce that you do not think that name was the chosen name. Call out two more names and tell your audience that your are sure they are not the chosen names either.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Down to the last two names.. study hard.. and announce the chosen name.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Secret:&lt;br /&gt;
Give your spec a RED fine-point or micro ink pen. I use a Uni-ball micro. A short time before the effect, touch the tip of the red ink pen to the felt tip of a &lt;b&gt;BLACK&lt;/b&gt; marker, like a Sharpie.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When your spec writes their chosen name on one of the lines, the very tip of the first letter will have a &quot;dark&quot; appearance. If you practice for a few minutes before you perform this effect, you will learn exactly how hard to touch the tips together to achieve a virtually un-noticeable &#39;smudge&#39;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NO ONE will notice this smudge, but you..  It will appear as if it&#39;s just a little excess ink on the tip.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Method: You secretly note the BOTTOM card of the deck. This is known in &lt;i&gt;magical parlance&lt;/i&gt; as a KEYCARD. For this explanation we shall say that the keycard is the Ace of Spades (AS), and the selected &lt;b&gt;card&lt;/b&gt; is the King of Hearts (KH). Whilst your back is turned, you ask the spectator to remove a card from the middle of the deck. Ask him to remember the card and show it to the rest of the audience (this is important as the trick is useless if the spectator forgets the name of the card and no-one else has seen it!). Ask him to put the card on TOP of the deck. The situation now is that the spectator&#39;s card (KH) is on top and the keycard (AS) is on the bottom. Ask him to cut the deck. This places the selected card (KH) below the keycard (AS). When all the cutting is done, ask the spectator to place the pack of cards face UP on the table. All you have to do now is deal the cards face up until you turn over the keycard (AS), the next card will be the selected card (KH). In order to add a bit of entertainment, I usually deal three or four cards past the selected card and then say the next card I turn over will be your card. They&#39;ll then think you&#39;ve got it wrong, which adds to the excitement when you actually turn over the correct card!!&lt;br /&gt;

Extra bonus (if you&#39;re lucky!!): If when you turn around you find the keycard is showing on the face of the cards, take full advantage of this fact and simply waggle your fingers over the cards (in a magical fashion!!). Tell the spectators that you are causing the chosen card to rise to the top of the deck! Have the spectator turn the deck over and sure enough, the chosen card will be on the top of the deck!&lt;br /&gt;

Method: You actually have a friend secretly help you to achieve this magic mind reading trick. While you are out of the room, after the optic has been chosen, your friend will take a sip of his drink and then replace it on the bar at a specific place which will tell you what optic was chosen. Let us say there are 15 optics on the wall. We will number them 1 to 15 from left to right. So you need for your helper to secretly tell you a number between 1 to 15. The pumps are shown at the top, the second row is on the bar area, next to the pumps, the next row is in the middle of the bar and the third is on the other side of the bar closest to your helper. If your volunteer chooses the 6th optic (counting from the left), your helper will place his drink down in front of the Kronenbourg pump in the middle of the bar. If the 13th optic is chosen the drink will be placed in front of the heineken on your helper&#39;s side of the bar and so on....&lt;br /&gt;
