Sitting on the floor of my bedroom, surrounded by piles of cassette tapes and pieces of loose, scribbled notebook paper as I prepared to wow the recipient with my musical prowess and superior knowledge.

I would cannibalize my dad’s tapes to record over them, (which as an adult, I’m kicking myself for, he had the CUTS!), spent a week assembling my list, determine if I would need to record little comments in appropriate spots and then spend a good 3 or 4 days coming up with a kicky little name for it, like “Cho’s Booty Bounce Vol. 2″

The practice fell to the wayside in the blur of high school activities, college and life in general.  I watched with no amount of fondness as my younger sister continued the practice with CD’s, mp3′s and even more ridiculous titles: “P-poppin’ on ‘kang’ street.”

I’m sure there has already been a ton of literature and discussions as to what makes the perfect mix but my theory is a little more esoteric.  Because in the end, it’s all about what it conveys to the recipient, we’ve recently added some of our own mixes up in the “dj services” section.  We hope that you might find some enjoyment in them and if you have an idea for a mix and don’t mind sharing, let me know and you just might find it posted.

We plan on updating the mixes semi-regularly with different types of music, in different types of genres.  Be sure to check back on our blog or Facebook for the latest updates.
