Hubbell Sustainability Website Offers Portal to Resources and Savings

Maier has created a new website for Hubbell Incorporate to help people in the construction industry find savings opportunities through energy efficiency, sustainability, stimulus opportunities, and more. The site includes examples of applicable Hubbell products from Electrical, Lighting and Power Systems as well as links to download sustainability- and stimulus-related literature.

The new website (http://www.hubbell.com/recovery) provides an easy-to-use starting point to access a wide range of resources such as:

Featured products, arranged by category as well as trade publication for products shown in print ads, with links to more information;
Information about Hubbell GreenWise® lighting solutions plus industry-specific brochures created for those working with customers in government, education, office, manufacturing and retail;
Government stimulus literature including a detailed Specification Guide showing hundreds of Hubbell products that qualify under ARRA guidelines;
Links to download free Building Information Modeling objects, which can be used to create building designs to avoid costly change orders in construction;
A focus on growth markets, starting with Data Centers, including brief descriptions and links to the many applicable products that offer sustainability benefits.

The site contains useful tools including energy calculators that enable users to discover the energy and cost savings possible by upgrading to an energy efficient Hubbell lighting system and occupancy / vacancy sensors. It also contains useful information about the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (effective through 2013) that offers substantial tax incentives as a reward for installing new or renovating with energy efficient lighting, HVAC and/or building envelope technologies in qualifying applications.

The sustainability website is an outgrowth of the Hubbell Sustainability Initiative (HSI=Green), an enterprise-wide commitment to develop sustainable products, educational programs and business practices internally, for the industry and community at-large.

Maier’s Work for GE Energy Wins Client ‘Gold’ International Creativity Award

FARMINGTON, Conn., August 25, 2008 – The transmission and distribution business of GE Energy has won a ‘Gold’ Annual Creativity Award for its booth graphics at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) trade show held April 2008 in Chicago. The graphics were developed by the Maier creative team of Bob Dully, art director, and John Cook, copywriter, with Luke Giroux, account supervisor, and are part of an overall re-branding initiative for GE Energy developed by Maier.

The category first prize for GE was included in the 38th Annual Creativity Awards, an international advertising and graphic design competition that draws entries from around the world. The competition’s results will be published in a 400-page book where, according to organizers, advertising professionals can see how their work stacks up, what design trends are emerging and who are the up-and-comers in the world of creative talent.

Maier’s re-branding campaign for GE is to reposition GE Energy from a company that sells transmission and distribution hardware to a solutions provider of ‘smart grid’ technology for greater efficiencies throughout the electrical grid infrastructure. In addition to the development of the messaging and booth graphics for the IEEE show, Maier produced a video for the booth, as well as collateral and promotional items to support the re-branding effort.

FARMINGTON, Conn., August 13, 2008 – Maier Advertising has created award-winning marketing communications for its client, Gexpro, part of Rexel, the world’s largest electrical distributor. The creative helped Gexpro capture TED Magazine’s 2008 ‘Best of the Best’ Award for marketing communications in the branding category. The category showcased Maier’s body of work for Gexpro during 2007 that included ads, flash presentation, collateral, direct marketing, employee communications and electronic communications. The award was presented to Gexpro at the AdVenture national awards ceremony in Chicago, August 12th.
