2. Click the Merchant Services Tab that runs along the top of the site.

You only have to fill in your organization name/service everything else is optional. You can change the donation to a fixed amount or give your visitors a choice to Donate however much they please. I suggest not using a plain text email address because spammers will get a hold of it and before you know it you will be receiving hundreds of worthless emails each day. So instead of cursing yourself with pointless spam select the option of using your secure merchant id.

6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Create Button"

7. Copy the code and login to your site and paste the code wherever you want it to appear. If your using Blogger.com Read on.

8. Login to your Blogger.com account and copy the code to your blog --> page elements --> add gadget --> add HTML Code --> paste the code in the area provided

Google has completely changed how they used to rank pages. What may have worked a year back may not necessarily work now. High page rank and Keyword rich inbound links used to work great for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). People would simply swap links with other webmasters who had high page rank or keyword rich content and it would work! So who was to stop them? Google would, you see Google wants genuine sites. Not just sites that have been optimized to work for a specific algorithm. Now page rank is a lot more fair, but not so easily obtained. You need real content, and real links if you want organic search results.

Google has since reduced the importance of keyword targeting. This makes it a lot harder for your internal pages to receive a higher page rank. Websites tend to link more to web pages than to internal pages of a specific website. Google reduced the importance of anchored text in links which would push up the ranking of home pages. Two common solutions to this problem were Link swapping to other high page rank webmasters or Keyword rich internal pages.

So from Google's point of view when a site has thousands of links pointing to the home page and to internal pages then the site deserves to rank high, because then it must be genuine. This can be achieved by simply reducing the importance of anchored text. Google spreads the anchored text value of a website amongst all the web pages of a particular site.

The age of your website is also taken into consideration. Older sites are more trustworthy than newer sites. There is no way around this except stay around long enough to be one of the old guys.

Google also takes into consideration how often your web site gets updated. So add new pages and more content, Google loves it. Also taken into consideration is the addition of new links pointing to your site from other sites. The age and how often the site linking to you is also taken into consideration. If you have a high ranked page that is ranked high because of keywords but doesn't get clicked on or viewed much then it will lose page rank over time.

Other factors to take into consideration are how long each visitor stays on your website and if that particular visitor makes return visits. Google tracks these kind of things and they can help increase your page rank.

The amount of unique domains linking to your site also helps to determine page rank the more unique domains linking to you the higher your page rank will grow.

One mistake many webmasters make is overly aggressive link building. You can actually be penalized for doing so. If you build up too many links too fast Google may reduce your page rank.

Here is a widely debated topic. Lots of short pages vs one long in depth page of information. The long in depth page will always outperform the multitude of smaller pages and will 9 times out of 10 rank higher.

Cross referencing information from within your own site is a good way to help yourself rank higher. Link relevant information from one of your own web pages to one of your other pages with similar information.

Always remember Content is KING! You cannot beat good quality content and Google knows it. So if you want to rank high, post quality content on your site.

Well it isnt directly SEO but it goes right along with it. Social Media networks are huge and can be of great potential when designing your SEO plan.
Social Media networks can mean using Twitter or Facebook to your advantage or even using Social Bookmarking such as Digg or Delicious. It will take a lot of work to fully optimize these resources though. You will have to build your relationships from within your network, but once you do you will see your website traffic sky rocket.
Dont expect to join one of these websites with the goal of advertising though. It will be dead obvious and you probably won't get the attention you want. Instead be clever in how you advertise, build your relationships, then give advice. Don't spam either. Spamming your site on such services will not help you gain traffic. It is very unprofessional and many people will simply ignore your site for such reasons.
You need good content. Once you have a good amount of great content people will begin visiting your site and re-posting and sharing your information. They will provide links back to your site which will help your page rank. They will talk among the people in the niche and that will be your publicity.
This will be a time consuming process that will take dedication but the end results are more than worth it. Best of all it is free advertising that can be targeted within your specific niche market.

How to Submit Blogger Sitemap to Google.com

This is how you can add a sitemap to your blogger.com account and increase your chances of being indexed in the Google search engine results. You can add a Sitemap to your account to give Google more information about the pages on your site. This will help Google crawl them more effectively.

Step # 1: Login to sitemap account

At the top of screen you should see the option to add site. Just paste the URL of your blog (for example http://(making-living-online.blogspot.com/)

Step # 2: Now you need to verify the ownership of your blog to view detailed statistics. Click on the verify link. Google offers two methods of verification. You can either upload a HTML file with a name we specify (which isn't possible with a Blogger account), or you can add a META tag to your site's index file. Adding META tag via template code is possible so just select Add a META tag from drop down menu:

Step # 3: Go to your blogger.com account and login.

Goto your blog > Click on Template

Paste the META tag code in the < head > section.

Click on Save Template changes button

Click on Republish Index only button > Wait for few seconds so that your blog being published successfully.

Step # 4: Now goto your sitemap account and click the box that reads as follows:

I've added the META tag in the home page of http://making-living-online.blogspot.com/. Click on the Verify button.

Step # 5: Now your site is added to the sitemap account and verification is done. Next you need to add actual the sitemap url. Since blogger.com account doesn't allow you to create a text file or anything else you need to add your site feed (ATOM xml) file as a site map. Click on add a sitemap link:

Step # 6: You can add a Sitemap to your account to provide Google with additional information about about your blog. Google will process your Sitemap and provide information on any errors in the Sitemaps tab, your sitemap will be downloaded everyday to index your blog fast.
