Halloween is just around the corner and with that nearly all over, it's almost time to start up the snowmakers for another great season. Winter . . . or so they say

Are you disappointed with this winter? We are, by this point last year there was over 3 feet of natural (yes not made by us) snow on the ground, as of right now there is... none, in fact I'd swear the grass is getting greener. If this winter gets any more winter-y the tulips will start coming up. But not all is lost, the weather guessers tell us that the next cold blast is just around the corner, with temperatures dropping well below freezing in the next 24 hours and staying there until at least the 18th of January! That's at least one solid week of cold for us snowmakers.

So if you're in the northeast cold could be coming your way, which means that if you want a back yard snowboard park because your local one isn't up to par and isn't worth that lift ticket, spend that money on building a snowmaker and ride your backyard when you want (not to mention everyone else will be jealous you have snow when their yard is green). All of our kits are currently in stock and ready to ship, so get on it!

So . . . It's getting cold outside, really cold!

Thanks to The Weather Network. Please note the temperatures are in Celsius, but anything in turquoise, blue, or purple is snowmaking weather!

You might think at these temperatures you would be able to make snow with just a pressure washer sprayed up into the air, but you'll still turn your yard into an ice field without a properly designed snowmaker. Hello Snowmakers,

It's Boxing Day and while it seems like all the stores in the malls are selling everything for cheap, this year was so busy we sold out of most of our stock, never fear though, it's not too late. In the near future we'll be getting in stock of our custom made snowgun nozzles, and home snowmakers. If you're looking into building that backyard snowboard park, a home snowmaker is a must have, we sold out of every single one we had, so we went back to making snow with an internal mix snowmaker (just like the one on our Instructable here).

Here's some of the pictures from that run, in case you didn't have the good fortune of getting cold weather to make some snow, enjoy these pictures of our white Christmas.

The start of the run, no snow anywhere, except for the snow we made.

Snow making continued past dusk, into the night, it's not difficult when you start at 4:30pm and it gets dark at 5:30pm...

These plants were right under the gun so they avoided most of the snow, but didn't avoid it all together. This was just at the start (above), the same plants towards the end of the 1.5hour run (below)

As Christmas is quickly approaching please consider that shipping does take some time, not tons, but enough to be mindful of it. In general you can expect our products in 5-10 business days after you have placed the order. We will ship as quickly as possible usually the same day, if that's not possible we will ship it the next day. Below is our Christmas Shipping Schedule for this year. Please ensure that you order your snowmaker, or snowgun nozzles by December 15, 2011, or order using an appropriate UPS service after that if you need your order by Christmas.

Please note that in order to be eligible for these deadlines your order must be placed before noon eastern time, also free shipping online applies to regular shipping. If you wish to have your order shipped by UPS please only select UPS shipping on your most expensive item.

As of right now we are SOLD OUT of external mix nozzle kits and do not expect to get any more in before Christmas. We encourage anyone who was looking at building an external mix snowmaker to look at our prebuilt home snowmakers or our internal mix nozzle kits, just make sure to supervise the internal mix snowmakers while they are in operation.

If you have any questions about snowmaking please feel free to contact us. We are currently out of stickers, however we encourage you to sign up for our mailing list and as soon as the new stickers have been made, we will be shipping them out to everyone who has requested them.

Black Friday 2011 - Now the whole weekend

It's Black Friday again! In keeping with everyone else, Black Friday now runs from Thanksgiving until "Cyber Monday". That means you can expect to save big on home snowmakers all weekend, and still have some turkey, or tofurkey whatever you prefer. We have free shipping on our snowmakers, or when your order is over $75, which is pretty easy to do if you want to build two snowmakers.

The big deal of the weekend is our $229 snowmakers, just position them at least 4 feet above the ground, we found a ladder was a perfect way to do this, but there are lots of mounting options with the convenient 1/4" threaded holes on the sides if you're feeling creative.

Ok, that might be pushing the envelope a little bit, but that's how it seems to be, Halloween is over and now we're right on with the holiday season. This year as the bigger resorts fire up their snowmakers, get ready to fire up one of your own, we suggest our snowmaker on clearance, the MSX-250H, we only have a few of these guys left, and they won't be lasting too long. Don't wait for Cyber Monday, because you'll be able to make snow long before then if temperatures keep up the way they are.

Get ready snowmakers, it may only be September, but October is just around the corner, and you want to be all set to have snow in your backyard (or front yard, side yard, etc. as the case maybe) before the local ski hill opens up. You know they've spent all summer getting their gear back into tip top shape for that first cold night, you need to do the same, it just might take you less time. The last thing you want to do is pull your snowmaking equipment out from storage, and realize you still have a leak in your garden hose, or your nozzles have something plugging them. Taking some time now will save you from delays when you could be making snow.

You can bet your local hill has added at least a couple new snowguns to their fleets, and maybe you should be looking to do the same. If you have the water supply, consider adding an extra snowmaker this year, and increase your snowmaking capacity. Build your jumps faster, bigger, longer. Set up an extra feature or five, so you can get all your jibs going at once.

For those snowmakers on a budget, this is the perfect time to start looking into building your new snowguns, remember we have all the nozzles you need, including our custom external mix snowmaking nozzles. Never worry about backflow problems again.

We had such demand in the Northern Hemisphere 2010/2011 winter that we thought, why not bring them out, and as always the Southern Hemisphere gets the goods months before anyone north of the equator can use them.

This week's deal is our MSX-250 snowgun head, available for $399US + Shipping. Here's some pictures of it from our latest run on Christmas Eve 2010:

Look at that external nucleation work its magic on the bulk water. No risk of the air and water backing up into the compressor or the house, unlike internal mix snowmakers where this risk is present.
We found that a 6' fiberglass latter was the perfect solution to supporting the snowgun head. It's light, portable, and the snowgun comes right out without any complications. How you mount your snowgun is up to you, make it temporary, or permanent, you decide!

Another close up of the CNC snowgun head. This snowgun, inch for inch offers the best quality of any snowgun on the market, don't be fooled by gimmiks like lights and stickers, this is the real deal.

It's kind of cool how the stream gets caught by the branches of overhanging trees.

Some great looking snow for some marginal weather conditions, only -3C (26F) at the coldest point in the run.
