At first I never really saw the attraction of a fixed gear bike, I had enough troubles trying to get on with a BMX with brakes!! But after seeing my good friends fixie, I must admit that I was pretty impressed. Not just with the aesthetics of the bike but also the agility and speed in which my friend flew around the streets on it.

So for all you fixie skeptics out there, check this out, I think it might change your mind…

Trailer for a forthcoming fixed gear bike film ‘BÖIKZMÖIND’.

Shot in Bristol with a near army of fixed gear and single speed cyclists, the film will focus on the culture and social aspects of the fixed gear scene.

This trailer which premiered at the second ‘No Gears’ night at Bristol’s Cube Cinema on Monday 31st August 2009, represents the first footage to be shown from hours of material gathered so far.

Shot on a JVC Everio HD3 with a Century Optics Wide Angle Lens and various mounts for on bike filming as well as a JVC Everio HD5 with JAG35E DOF adapter and 50mm f1.4 Canon Lens.

banksy “exit through the gift shop” update

A while back we posted up about the new Banksy film “exit through the giftshop” being released at the Sun Dance film festival – check the original posting here

Well the film is in full swing now and has gained a fair amount of critics and lovers at the same time. It’s now showing at various locations across the country so if you get the opportunity to then make sure you go see it. I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

We’ve been a huge fan of Kev Munday ever since his start way back when we were selling t-shirts illegally in the back of pubs and run down clubs together.

Kev has managed to stay determined and on track and it has really paid off. With a constant string of live paintings and projects, Kev is constantly on the go and is gaining a much deserved respect in the street art world.

Kev has just released a nice new portfolio showing a few snippets of his new work.

shaun white – the tomahawk

A while back we posted up about Redbull Project X. A secret project that gives Shaun White access to his own backyard foam pit, and a 550′ private pipe. It took 2 months 250,000 cubic yards of snow to build the pipe, including 30 heli-bombed avalanches that were needed to bring down enough snow to form it. The foam pit is 20′ x 30′ and has 7200 foam blocks to fill it, giving 600 sqft of foam to stamp a few new tricks.

This is where Shaun has been practicing his new trick, the Tomahawk, which is a double McTwist 1260 (2 flips, three and-a-half twists).

Well for all those that tuned in to the mens Olympic halfpipe final, you would have had the pleasure of seeing this executed in his victory lap.
