Collected swatches from #KANEBO’s new 2020 #iHope makeup releases!

Japanese luxury line Kanebo has revamped their entire makeup line this year, and did a complete 180 from conservative “OL” (office lady) aesthetic to something completely fresh and vibrant.

Besides including funky mixers and pop shades in their buttery N-rouge lipstick line, they’ve also added interesting multipurpose cream sticks that promise to be usable on eyes, cheeks, lips, anywhere you like.

Considering lipsticks cost about S$60 a pop, it’s not easy to explore the line if you’re shopping online during the current pandemic. So here are all the color products (aside from basic liner pencils) swatched for your reference!

1 of 4 quick eye looks trying on the new #charlottetilbury Luxury Colour Coded Eye Palettes! All testing is done without primer, on bare lids.

Today I’m wearing #SuperBlue for the first time, and this is the quad for dark/brown eyes. Possibly my favorite of the entire lot because those blues are stunning.

The chrome blue takes some building but it DOES build up to a gorgeous metallic even with a brush.

Affordable Colored Lenses: HAPA Kristin Try-On for Dark Eyes

#HAPAKristin is a pretty new #coloredlens brand from Korea with some gorgeous 14.2mm hydrogel lenses designed to work great even on dark eyes.

The color designs are detailed, natural-looking and very realistic, which is a huge plus since I hate poorly-made lenses that look fake (or downright scary) up close.

Hapa Kristins come in both Daily as well as Monthly boxes, and I was surprised that they matched my Desio and Jill Stuart colored lenses in comfort, but cost so much less.

Prices start at S$24 or US$19.99 for 10-pack dailies.

YSL Slim Sheer Matte Lipstick Swatches and Review

#YSL launched their regular Slim Mattes awhile back and followed with these cloudy, semi-sheer powder-matte line called #SlimSheerMatte earlier this year.
For those who want casual, easy-to-wear color but love a #mattelipstick finish, these are a gorgeous - if slightly pricey - option to check out.

The best thing may be the total weightlessness and comfort of the formula; they don’t feel drying at all. And the shade selection is beautiful. However there ARE still a couple of minor imperfections that I’ll point out in the video.

#LorealxKarlLagerfeld is not a combo that many expected but that I’m sure many of us welcome!
A little bit of high fashion at drugstore prices is always good.

Do note that the #Loreal eye palette and #ColourRiche lip shades available in Asia seems to be different from images I saw online from European markets, although the color stories are similar.

Re-Review: NARS Iconic Lipsticks (Reformulated) Red Tube Series

#NARS launched his brand in the mid-90s with 12 #iconiclipsticks, and to celebrate their 25th anniversary, they’ve reformulated and re-released the OG cult classic shades in a gorgeous rubber-red matte tube infused now with moringa oil and other conditioning extracts.

Like many people, I know the names #ScarletEmpress, #JungleRed, #RedLizard and #ShanghaiExpress but they were WAY beyond my budget growing up and I didn’t get into them when I started seriously collecting makeup.

So now I’m fixing it but going back to the OG 12 so I can see for myself what all the hype is about!

#Milanicosmetics’s new #GildedPalettes are a series of jewel-toned color stories in gorgeous foiled textures with some smooth mattes thrown in as well. I do a deep dive to figure out which textures work best, which tools to use, and (of course) what some of the potential problems might be if you’re looking to pick up 1 or 2.

I do arm swatches to show all the #eyeshadow colors, but stay posted to the end cos I will point out pros and cons after giving them a full trial-run on the lids!

#PatMcGrath is a true artist and living legend in the beauty world - equal in status to visionaries like Kevyn Aucoin and Serge Lutens in the way she has shaped and driven trends in the fashion world for the past few decades.

Obviously she’s a huge makeup hero to me and I’ve fallen for quite a number of the Pat McGrath labs products in the past couple of years. However her stuff is pricey, so I don’t own as many as I would like to!

I was lucky enough to get hold of the latest #MothershipVI #MidnightSun palette recently (avail at Sephora in Singapore) and decided to have a go at creating two different looks to showcase the colors and textures, and also point out the pros and cons of the palette for those of you who are considering splashing out.

L'Oreal has extended the shade range in their #RougeSignature liquid lipstick line with the #ParisianSunset collection and since this is one of my favorite #liquidlipstick formulas I had to lip swatch the new shades for you.

NOTE: Shade selections differ by country and in Singapore there are only 5 out of the 8 or 9 Parisian Sunset shades I saw in other markets. I believe those of you in the USA have the largest range.

#LorealMakeup finally brought their new #EyeshadowMegaPalettes to Singapore (S$34.90 each) and these are released alongside their new Parisian Sunset Rouge Signature lip shades.

These both come in fruit-themed color stories and are scented as well. One is called #CherryMyCheri and one is #BerryMuchLove.

My #HAUSlaboratories package arrived much earlier than I expected from Amazon, so I decided to do 2 looks today using the #HAUSofGoddess and #HAUSofRockstar kits I bought.

One kit creates a soft neutral glam look, the other is more dramatic high-glam with gold lids and burgundy wine lips. Each kit contains a lip liner, lip gloss and liquid eyeshadow.

#MakeUpForEver recently dropped their new skincare-in-makeup hybrid, #RebootFoundation (S$72) and while the claims of skin-improving benefits sound fantastic, it’s also quite pricey for if it turns out to be a lightweight tinted moisturizer that doesn’t last for a whole day.

Shade tested: Y245

Can it live up to the anti-fatigue, satin-finish medium coverage claims and how does it look after 8 hours in ultra humid Singapore? I film it over 2 days using different tools for application and slightly different powders to set.

Rouge Dior Ultra Care Lipsticks: Review and Swatches

More #Dior #RougeDiorUltraCare #lipsticks swatched, this time in the satiny stick formula!

Find out about the new balmy formula, the shades, and my thoughts on these high-pigment, plush, 12-hour wear, conditioning lipsticks that contain jojoba oil, shea butter and Camelina extract.

These are priced at S$52 in Singapore, and have what Dior calls a “mewy” (matte + dewy) texture, which to me is just means “satin” LOL. Like the liquid lipsticks these are infused with shea butter, almond oil, and camelina extract to condition lips, and I almost forget these are not lipbalms sometimes.
