Here is my small collective haul from the past two months of jewelry. Or JOORY as I like to say.

GOFAVOR
I saw the replica of House of Harlow necklace in Rai's blog (redirected link to Glam Morena) and said HELL YEAH I'm getting that cheap knock-off, psh what I look like? (besides a cheap person). And saw that she got them off GoFavor.

Anyways, for the most part the website didn't have many selections I personally liked, otherwise I would definitely would have hoarded a lot more than what's seen. Best thing besides the jewerly being cheap is that they offer free shipping with purchase of $15 or more. Shipping took about less than 2 weeks through China Post, fairly quick. Smell was a bit questionable but soon went away after airing it out.

I loved what I got, though. Mind you the 3-finger pyramid ring is not size adjustable nor does it give different size options. I normally wear size 8 in rings and these fit fine in all 4 fingers (minus thumb). And the necklace is a bit on the flimsy side, feels plastic as oppose to the good-quality Joory from Forever21 (joke!). Anyways, can't complain much because they're hella cheap.

CHARLOTTE RUSSE
Charlotte always has a buy 2 for $10 jewelry sale - prices have to be between $5-6 to count.
I purchased the necklace last month (December) and it was still available at my location when I went back this past week. I really like the gunmental shade in Joory as just oppose to silver and gold, adds a bit of edge I suppose.

I actually bought a lot more Joory late last year that I never posted but it wouldn't be worth mentioning because those items are long gone and out of stock. These two I got this past week.

I'm really into chained bracelets as they're easy to throw on but looks like a lot of bling-blang is going in this pimp wrist of mine. I found the orange chain randomly scattered (oh forever, how you bring nightmares to OCD neat freaks) and the necklace on a small display. The teal necklace is simple and colorful - but can be worn with almost anything casual. The perfect spring accessory without over doing it.

Overall I spent $15 dollars with tax on these items. I saved around $48! Crazy!

IN DETAIL
HD Advance Concealer Click, Cover, Correct & Protect Face & Eyes
#02 works well to conceal dark undereye circles because of the pale pink shade that it is, I noticed on myself when swatched - it probably wouldn't serve a great purpose to those of fair skin to even overall skin off but definitely works to hide blemishes for up to caramel skintones.
#03 also works well to conceal dark undereye circles and hide blemishes due to it's salmon color. Reminds me of my Bobbi Brown Color Corrector concealer.
#04 is more on the yellow undertone and works well on olive, tan to medium dark skintones for blemishes and highlighting or having an effect of awakening the eyes. Looks good used to clean around the brows for definition.

Milani Minerals Compact Makeup
Yet to be reviewed.

Milani Powder Bronzer
#02 Medium is a brown with a bit reddish undertone shade (closes to MAC's Brown Script eyeshadow) with a slight shimmer but almost velvet like texture. Fairly soft and easy to work with and very pigmented. I'm excited to really use this product but be careful with heavy hand!

Milani Mineral Blush with Brush
#201 Luminous I was reading how this is a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush and I have to say it looks very similar but I can't agree as I don't own Orgasm. It has shimmery-sheen with a golden undertone, very pretty for everyday usage.
#203 Mai-Tai is like a burnt, coppery red. I have nothing like this shade in my collection which it all more appreciated. Both blushes swatched very easily and great pigmentation (about two layers applied each).

OVERALL THOUGHTS
So thanks to the bloggersphere beauty community whispers, there is a Milani 75% OFF sale I could not skip. I'm really excited to further try the brand without braking the bank because Milani in general is a pretty pricey drugstore brand I never really spurlged on.

I am loving the blushes, bronzers, concea--shoot, everything! I definitely want to go back and get the other 2 mineral blushes that were sold out, and in my opinion - I prefer them a lot more to the Baked Mineral blushes. Also want to get extra of HD Concealers as I feel they are everything right now.

RECOMMENDATIONS
I highly recommend any of the blushes and concealer pens. The bronzer is really nice too and very easy to work with blending-wise. The concealer pens are in my opinion more for women of color that are of olive, tan, caramel complexion. Any lighter or darker is probably not as suitable

COMPARISON
I wanted to compare actual packaging of Milani HD Advance Concealer to YSL Touche Eclat Concealer. Similar beautiful, gold casing and both are click pens and offer the benefit as acting as a highlighting concealer.

Consistency is similar although I do not have swatches on those (sorry) - Milani is a great alternative to the pricey YSL product.

Your Best Face Foward - Interview Beauty Tips

In anticipation for their newly released app Beknown, I was approached by Monster.com to participate in their "Present The Best You" online contest to share tips for interviews towards young professionals!

Let me tell you, the process of finding a job is daunting and then you get that break - a job interview! Realization sets in... a job... interview. A. JOB. INTERVIEW! *gulps* Panic mode sends you to rehash answers to potential interview questions, brushed your teeth several times, checked your wardrobe for any unflattering creases (or that questionable stain), slap on that chapstick, grab your briefcase and then you're on your way... wait, only chapstick?

Oh yes, makeup! One thing that can be overlooked because, well, they shouldn't be judging a book by it's cover - and the only cover they should care is your Cover Letter, right? Well... yes, but remember these interviewers are going by what it is heard and seen. It is important to bring out your best qualities in all different aspects, if you're unsure what to do - I am here with a few beauty tips and tutorial on bringing out the best you, beauty wise!

I created a basic go-to look that can be made up depending on your job title you're seeking for. Follow the photo-diagram tutorial and it's corresponding text for further instructions!

First, let's start with face!

FACE TIPS

1. Use a concealer a bit lighter than your skin tone to hide dark circles and make you look a bit awake! Budge resistant is best for those who have creases & lines around the eyes.
2. Blend concealer down the bridge of your nose and outward.
3. Apply a matte foundation of choice to even out entire complexion. Matte foundations reduces shine and oily skin. Match best to your natural skin tone.
4. Buff foundation well into your hairline, towards your ears and down past your neck. You want to blend the foundation in the areas surrounding your face for a natural transition, especially if foundation is darker/lighter than your neck and ears. Buffing also reduces the "cakey" appearance of foundation creating a more natural appearance.
5. Hide blemishes with a color corrector concealer. Salmon/Peach shades counteract with dark blemishes. Green shades for red bumps and pimples.
6. Buff on a peach or light pink warm blush to the apple of your cheeks. This color creates a natural flush to your skin tone and appears more youthful without looking harsh.
7. A highlighter blush helps create a natural glow to your skin, apply on top of the apple of your cheeks. Adding this is optional.
8. Use a translucent blot powder or foundation powder, buff around your face to minimize any oily zone. This also helps sets your whole foundation and concealer and to prevent any "melt off".

Onto the eyes...

BROW & EYE TIPS

9. Brows define your face! Fill in your brows with a shade closes to the natural hairs. Powder, pencil, cream - whichever preference, apply and fill in any gaps or shape the brows. Keep from going too harsh from applying a lot of product, you want to enhance your brows - not scare people away!
10. Cleaning eyebrows using concealer means to define them more and help reduce the appearance of sparse hair. This is optional.
11. Set with a brow gel, colored or clear. This prevents from the hairs moving out of place or adding a bit of color and definition.
12. Apply a nude MATTE eyeshadow that matches your skin tone or is a bit lighter/darker all throughout your eyelid. This gives you a bit of color but without putting all the focus on your makeup! Refrain from shimmery eyeshadows as they're a bit too distracting. Remember, we want to look our best natural-self!
13. Add a matte creme highlight eyeshadow right below your brow bone, blend well.
14. Add a pale champagne-like eyeshadow to the inner corner of your eyes. This can be a bit shimmery or of matte texture. This helps brighten up your whole eye and opens them more.
15. Add your eyeliner of choice, you may or may not wing out the outer corner - it's your preference. Keep the liner thin enough and not too dramatic.
16. Funny face on! Curl your lashes and add mascara of choice. Be careful not to go overboard with mascara and create those dreaded spider lashes. A few coats and curl to open up your eyes and you're set!

LIP TIPS

17. Apply a nude lip liner all over your lips. This helps add a bit of color and also makes your lipstick stay put.
18. Lastly, add lipstick of choice. Nude shades with a slight pink undertone is best. Or a shade closes to your natural lip color. Refrain from applying a lot of shiny gloss as it's too distracting. If you're not fan of lipstick, then yes - you can just apply your chap stick!
Moisturize well and make sure your lips aren't chapped. Even worse, make sure there's no lipstick stain in your teeth by blotting your lips with a tissue and adding a bit of translucent powder on top to prevent feathering or stains.

A small HAIRY tip...

Definitely no good. For hair, keep it simple!
If it's down, make sure hair is away from your face (you must show off that gorgeous mug of yours!) by pinning back bangs, adding a simple twist and/or you can slightly curl the ends or create natural waves. You can also simply tie it all back into a ponytail. A ponytail is best for most interviews as it appears more professional and clean. Unless it's MTV and you're Snooki, teasing and backcombing should be done at a minimal.

FURTHER TIPS:

+Set your skin with moisturizing and primer prior doing makeup.Skin moisturizers keep your face from peeling or dulling out. Face primers help smooth out any skin imperfections while also help make foundation last longer.

+Remember to research the company you'll be interviewing for. There may be specifications in appearance as how the company would like to be represented. For example, I work in the healthcare field - to my knowledge, most hospitals and private offices prefer a fresh clean image (as the one I showed), less is definitely better so hold off on that red lipstick you love! While a more creative environment such as beauty or fashion careers - your makeup has more room to get bold. Colorful eyeshadows, bright lip colors - whatever your choice, make sure to keep it polished and complimentary to your facial features.

+Nail polish. Nude, beige, cream, clear, french manicures are all best options for overall options. Refrain from designs and glitter in any profession. A simple shade or none at all is best and less distracting. If wearing none at all, make sure your nails are clean and well manicured. If wearing acrylics, keep the length short.

And you're set! Time for your job interview hunt and remember - never let a job define you, let you define that job! Good luck and many wishes. Hopefully you get that great news you've been wanting to hear...

Heya. Here's another look I did which was inspired by a photo I've seen on instagram.
I've had that app (instagram) since it came out but never used the "social networking" aspect of it, well, never knew it had one until recently and I'm hooked. I love it and I truly can't stand SN media things in general. Basically, for those who aren't aware, it's an iPhone app that acts like Twitter but instead of posting asinine gibberish, you post photos in which you can edit with filters. Lub it.

Getting in shape and staying shape is not only hard work but also takes a lot of time. But you want to look good with a flat stomach and strong core muscles like abs. This can be fairly difficult with a busy schedule. Luckily technology has gotten far enough along to help fix two problems at once by using products like the Contour Ab Belt.

I am sure it won't be for everyone, but if you are too busy to always slave away at the gym it is worth a peek. You might feel like it is cheating to be using a toning belt while doing part of your regular routine. But the soreness the next day lets you know that your body was working hard even if it didn't seem like it!

Dysmorphia and Cosmetic Surgery: Can They Coexist?

Probably the only industry that isn’t suffering these days, elective cosmetic surgery
is exploding at an unprecedented rate, fueled by the media and feeding on people’s
insecurities. Procedures like breast augmentation are becoming increasingly prevalent
throughout the country, with studies projecting that 17% of the country will have had
an operation by 2015.1 Regardless of your personal views on cosmetic surgery, a
growing portion of these patients have a potentially dangerous mental disorder known as
Body Dysmorphic Disorder, which if not screened out by plastic surgeons, can lead to
excessive plastic surgeries and declining mental health.

BDD is a disorder that affects a relatively small demographic, but its propensity to lead
people into undergoing operations to help reach their ideal appearances is what makes it
so dangerous. One such study consisted of 200 test subjects, all of whom were previously
diagnosed with BDD. 21% had already received elective cosmetic procedures, and 31%
sought out potential procedures. In a follow up study a year later, nearly all of them
continued to have BDD symptoms, and some actually developed new preoccupations
with their appearance. In a separate survey, it was found that roughly 8% of patients who
receive cosmetic surgery have BDD, and 65% of surgeons reported performing cosmetic
procedures on patients with BDD. Even more depressingly, less than one percent of
these cases resulted in improved symptoms of BDD.

Not only is plastic surgery a BDD magnet, but it is known to create appearance
preoccupations in otherwise “normal” people as well. However, more studies are needed
to determine the frequency of people whom develop the disorder as a side effect of an
operation. The damaging effects of BDD can also can hurt more than just yourself, since
according to Dr. Phillips, a professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown
University, there have been “reports of lawsuits and occasionally violence perpetrated
by persons with BDD towards physicians, [and] have led some to believe that BDD is a
contraindication for cosmetic treatment.”

Although less than 10% of people are diagnosed with BDD, you never know if a simple
breast implant procedure could cause you
to develop the disorder. If you think you may have BDD, be sure to be screened by an
actual psychotherapist, and not just the plastic surgeon.

So here's a look I played with randomly at night testing out my WET N' WILD'S I ♥ Matte Palette. OH MY GOD. This palette is perfect! I used it again for my friend's Halloween makeup look doing the same as mine and it looked good on her fair skin too. Once I see this in the store I'm definitely getting some for giveaways.

AnyI♥Matteways, the placement is - I used the WNW Peach color on the crease, MAC Passionate on the crease as base. WNW Blue on the lid and lower lashline, and the Purple on top of the pink to deepen the crease and on the lower to unify the look together. Put MAC Gorgeous Gold in the inner corner and when you blend it with the Blue from WNW it creates a pretty turquoise shade (which I did on my friend and it made such a pretty transition). You can always switch the Blue with the Green from the palette to create another fun look.

Here is my small collection of the E.L.F. studio blushes I have accumulated over awhile. These are really good to have in a collection as they are inexpensive and have decent coloring. It takes a few brush swirling to get product on the blush but that's why I personally like it, as it doesn't give you a heavy hand and crazy amount of blush on the cheek. My go-to everyday blush is Mellow Mauve - LOVE IT! I use Giddy Gold to give a bronzer/highlight effect and Blushing Rose to contour a bit at times. I usually take one ELF blush for travel as it's tiny enough to fit anywhere. Product holds about 0.0097oz/2.75g so it's a decent amount.

I own nothing but NYX pencils and I can say, when it comes to lipliners I prefer this brand over higher end brands such as MAC or Stila. With that said, they don't have the longevity as other brands (say, Make Up For Ever) but they're not claimed as long lasting. I get a good 5 hr wear for outer lining and about 8+ if lips are fully shade in with lipstick on top - less if I'm eating/drinking. Some of them do look similar to one another which is a gripe. The consistency is more on the matte side but they glide fairly easy. There's two textures I've seen, one being the matte, the other a satin. All but one (coral) have a matte finish. I totally recommend these for budget friendly beauty junkies.

Purchase
The long lip liner tends to run cheaper with fewer selections as oppose to the regular l/l, usually $1.25+, and the smaller sizes can start at $1.75+ each depending on where you purchase them from.

Where I've bought are CherryCulture, NYX official site, Ulta Stores and individual retailers/boutiques. But as a tip, I recommend eBay sellers - it ended up being a little less then CC even with their discount (unless it's an annual sale than I would recommend either NYX or CC). Browse around and add tax/shipping to see the best price.

Are you excited? I was when I first heard an all-Matte palette was going to be released. I personally ~~LOVE~~ HEART Matte eyeshadows! And Wet N Wild really made me ultra happy with this release.

Overall Thoughts
The shades are true to their crayola colors form - white, purple, peach, green, etc. Although on the pan it looked matte, the blue shade did have a slight satin finish to it - check my swatch and close up on the photo. I didn't experience any difficulties with the colors except with most matte eyeshadows in different brands, the bright colors tend to lean on the chalky/patchy side. The blue and green were probably a little difficult to swatch but nothing to where it wasn't capable. The neutral colors seem to be repeats from older palettes (most noticeably from the 6-pan palettes) although I have not confirm this in swatch comparisons. Is this palette really unique? No, only if you own EVERY WNW shadows they've created. Otherwise it is a keeper because of it's all (majority) of matte texture and it has the best of every color from nudes to bright under one palette. Plus, it's only $4.99 - what's not to like?

Remember, this is being released to off-set the removal of the 6-pan palette which will be permanently discontinued late 2012.

Here is a quick look I did in my Las Vegas trip - my camera totally picked up the SPF in my concealer and the Cargo blush leaves me a bit ash (I won't be using that one often). Anyways this was insprired a bit by Kim Kardashian, I remember seeing a photo of her in a gossip mag I had and recreated it to my liking.

I love the bronzey look, very smokey, very Summer! Pop MAC Gorgeous Gold in the inner corner to enhance the look. If you don't own WNW The Gilded Age, any other bronzed brown shade of theirs worked, MAC Bronze is a good alternative too. I can't recall what I used to deepen the brown - I wanna say it was WNW Comfort Zone palette.

Just had my wisdoms pulled out Monday morning.
Being bed ridden with no TV = boredism. Sigh*

I'm not sure what I used on my crease, I can guess and say it was from the UD Naked Palette? Anywho - another FOTD from my trip to Las Vegas going to the Lion King Broadway show. OMG - if you guys have the opportunity to catch this show in LV, go do so before December as it will be canceled, it was the best thing ever! Exactly like the movie but live and beautifully sang. BEAUTIFULLY! I think it's better than the actual film, forget 3D lol. It was the highlight of my trip.

Hi Loves,

Is it me or has this year gone by so fast? Ridiculously fast.
I've been slightly MIA for the past few months going on vacations and pretty much hanging out, working a bit...being a bad blogger. All that shenanigans, got me tired just thinking. In August I was away for 2 weeks going to Hawaii and then Las Vegas (I saw Snooki!). This current month has been the start of Fall birthdays amongst my friends and for those fans of the RuPaul Drag Race Show - I got to meet Bebe Zahara Benet at a club she was performing last weekend. I can say I've been having a memorable Summer thus far. Oh, I got my MAC Pro card too.

For women who are particularly concerned with style or beauty, makeup can play a significant role in everyday life. Many of these women, by a young age, are quite proficient with makeup, and can use it extremely effectively to enhance beauty or to cover up unwanted marks or blemishes. Particularly as women age, this skill can be quite a useful one, as the face will naturally show signs of aging that can be covered up or disguised with strategic use of cosmetics. However, this involves a process that must be constantly repeated, as makeup provides no permanent solutions for facial aging. This is why many women are turning to cosmetic surgery.

As can be noted on industry websites such as www.AboutPlasticSurgery.com, there is much to know about plastic surgery when it comes to which surgeries are available, and how to go about choosing your surgeon and procedure. With just a little bit of research, you can find that there are a number of simple plastic surgeries out there that can serve as helpful (and, sometimes, permanent) alternatives to cosmetic cover-up methods. Specifically, many women turn to plastic surgery to cover up facial wrinkles.

There are a number of surgical methods that can help with facial wrinkles, many of which are not invasive at all. While there are facelifts, which involve a surgeon essentially “stretching” or “tightening” your facial skin in order to smooth it out and eliminate wrinkles, you can also ask a doctor about botox or collagen injections. Both of these methods involve simple injections (rather than surgeries) that can help to reduce or eliminate wrinkling. All in all, when you think about the uses of makeup, one of the first things that comes to mind is the concept of “covering up.” Whether this applies to blemishes, wrinkles, or any other sort of unflattering physical characteristic, many women are quite expert at covering up. The right cosmetic surgery, however, can save a woman from having to go through the process of careful makeup application day after day. If this sounds appealing to you, you may want to begin doing some research on specific procedures and doctors; before long, you could be receiving a treatment for a wrinkle-free face!

I tried taking photos of this but it completed washed out so I only have front face shots. I got the MAC shadow at a makeup outlet store - really pretty trio. I also YouTubed hair curling tutorial and decided to do ringlets and a side braid - I loved outcome and so did everyone else - really romantic. Normally I do big waves/curls. The hair took an hour to do though (I have so much thick, long hair) and in person you can see the individual curls. Being a girl is a lot of work - eesh.

It's the lipstick army! The full complete 20 shade Mega Last Lip Color collection.
There isn't much to say about these lipsticks as many of you may already own but just simply that they are the best. Best in value and quality. They are Semi-Matte finish, so they have the longevity of a matte lipstick without the drying effect. There's a good range of shades and all are very opaque with one or two layers.

A quick, simple 10 minute look I did for going to the Casinos weeks ago using only the white/light brown eyeshadows in the Greed & Vanity Palettes. Rebel was my B2M item and it is a deep berry shade, a lot brighter in these photos but it is more deep and vampy. I love it! I just applied it real quickly and took shots before I blotted it down for just a stained look.

I was given the opportunity to review some Eyeko Items and it was geared for traveling on-the-go items, which is perfect to have before my trip to Hawaii.

Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen

Lip Lover - Bright Red, orange undertone
This was a huge surprise to me, I love the texture of these and opaqueness that it delivered. They remind me of NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils but the Jumbo feels more like a creme pencils (haha, I know that's a literal way to describe them) while these feel just like lipstick and glides on more easily. The outcome has a hint of sheen to it and with my swatch it took about two quick applications. The longevity is decent, matte lipsticks or stainer last longer but these sustained well and didn't bleed. I recommend.

Fat Balm | Lips & Cheeks w/ SPF in Cheery
This is a multi-purpose product, used as a lip tint and a blush creme. The texture is of a chap lipstick and opacity of that is good after several layers (I did 2 ) and dabbed it on once then blended by finger which resulted in a sheer, red color. Pretty nice although it looks a bit too shiny for me to dab on the cheeks but definitely a good things to have in your makeup bag for emergencies.

I did a previous review on The Purple eyeko pen in this post. I have to say, I've been using this pen everyday since I've received it - in LOVE! Eyeko definitely needs to expand this product and have more retail locations in the US.

Overall Review
I am not a huge gloss person and to be honest, gloss in a tube never appealed to me because of their juvenile packaging. Again, never judge a book by their cover. I really liked the pigmentation on these glosses and they remind me of L'Oreal HIP Tube glosses (can't recall their name), although not all are entirely opaque (some are sheer) - I do like the color it gives me payoff. The only downfall I can recall is the stickiness texture, I know that can be a pet peeve to some and it can definitely create that "hair stuck on lips" syndrome. Although the stickiness is a downfall, with it creates a longer lasting product because it doesn't transfer as easily. This would probably be an ideal product to use on top of lipstick to make it sustain a bit more longer than normally would.

I can't wait until they bring out limited edition or an extended collection to different variety of shades and texture. I'd like to see a cream lilac formula among the mix, or a nude pink. My favorite out of the ones I've received is "Glass Confusion" surprisingly, it has a hint of lilac which looked nice on my skin complexion compared to the others. Also, WNW has come out with these charming names haha - my mom had a laughed at several products names...

Have any of you tried this - what are your thoughts?
