Day 11 – Goal setting

Write down 10-20 goal ideas. Things that you’ve been wanting for long time and haven’t had the opportunity yet.  Revisit your notes from days 5, 8 and any other notes you’ve made that might inspire you. Don’t get overwhelmed, this is not your final list. Take a look at your goals and choose the ones you’re most excited about, bringing your list down to half. Now, for each one the goal ideas ask the following questions and write down the answers:

Give yourself time and do some thinking. Reflect on your goals, visualise the outcome and don’t forget to visualise the way to your goals; you have to love the process, or it either won’t work, or it will drain you, which doesn’t worth it.

We have our three goals? That’s great! Let’s go on and work on them for a bit, making them S.M.A.R.T., which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-sensitive.

Your goals have to be Specific and Measurable. This is how you’ll stay on track and be actually able to evaluate how you’re doing at any time. It’s one thing to say “I want to exercise more” and another to say “I want to book 2 P.T. sessions and 2 yoga classes per week”.

Make sure your goals are attainable and realistic. Do you have/can you make enough time for them? How does they interfere with the rest of your life and responsibilities? For example I’d love to create an at-home silent retreat every a couple of months, but non verbal communication with my toddler just can’t happen. 

Time has to always be attached with your goal. Set a date (and time?) that your goal should be achieved by, to create some extra motivation (through the ticking clock) and urgency and make the work that has to be done non-negotiable.

Day 10 – How to create white mental space

Have you ever had a “This sounded a lot better in my head” moment? This happens because thoughts truly “sound” differently in our head, and this is why we need to express them. In our head, we have a million thoughts ideas and memories, fuzzy and unclear. Letting them out, we might be surprised that they “sound” differently and we might even change our mind about them.

White mental space is crucial when you want to really focus on anything. But some times, you just can’t leave everything else aside, forget about what you were doing a few minutes ago and just be there for one particular project or task. What you need is a way to let out your confused thoughts, which will make your mind feel tidy up, “clean” and clear.

If you meditate, do this exercise before meditation. If you do EFT, let this exercise be first. Do the white mental space exercise to let everything out, then if any negativity creeps in, use your other tools to calm down, and then get excited, use your shortcuts to feel one  of your desired feelings and do the work that needs to be done, with a clear, positive and excited mind.

Having done the work we’ve discussed so far, it won’t be too hard to find out what you consider success for yourself. Feeling the way you want to feel, working on yourself to be who you want to be and working to have the things you want to have should be considered success. To paraphrase Gandhi, “Success is when what you think, what you want, and what you do are in harmony.”

So how success looks like for you? How does it feel, rather? What would make your life and this year successful? Write things down and don’t feel too committed. You can change your mind later.

Day 8 – How do you want to feel

Today’s work is one of the most important we’ve done so far, as we are actively going to take a look at what we want, and how what we want makes us feel. But we’re going to find it out through a series of questions, and it’s always better to write your answers down, not only to infuse the appropriate energy to your answers, but to actually remember them.

There are some questions that when you seriously consider them, they feel like some kind of explosion. When was the last time you felt like yourself? What do you want? How do you want to feel? What do you need to stop doing?

We are looking for the things you want, and we are focusing on the way they make you feel to get to our goal setting. I love sharing with you my own content about it, but if you want to go deeper and get a ton of more inspiration, you have to check Danielle Laporte’s The Desire Map book or experience. There also is a video course, which you can check out here.

As always, I want you to make the whole process as personalised as possible and not blindly follow instructions, either it is from me, from Danielle Laporte (bow) or anyone else in the world, no matter how much you respect them. Create everything with your own terms, as long as you’re active and actually working on yourself.
