Just like a car, it's hard to turn a corner unless we've already stepped on the gas. A lot of us our fearful of stepping out, or making a move in one direction or another, thinking we might make the wrong decision. I used to be like that. But I learned that in stepping out, when you have just enough information, you will actually be enabled to make better decisions and keep the car moving. Getting stuck in a rut is no fun when driving, much like getting stuck in a rut in life.

Have you heard about the 80% rule? Marines are trained to rely on this rule. Studies and observations of decision-making theory have concluded that one should have about 80 percent of the information to make the best decision. In the case where they need to take immediate action, there may only be 40 percent of the information available - but still the decision must be made to avoid disaster.*

Delays in decision making for lack of information may be worse than making a decision on inadequate information.

So what are you waiting for!? Gather as much information as you can, but keep your car on the move!

(*'Project Management - strategic design and implementation' by David I. Most often when somebody hurts us we want to take revenge. Or get back at them for what they've done. We want them to hurt just as bad. What's funny is that, holding a grudge inside ourselves doesn't actually do anything to the other person. In fact, it hurts us over the long run more than it hurts them!

We have another option.

The choice is ours. Forgive? Let go? Move on? Or hold it in. Seek revenge. Become bitter. Sometimes this seems like the better way out because it makes us feel good. It makes us feel like the other person is getting what they deserve. Well let me ask you this. Your biggest mistake...do you remember it? What if it was erased...forgotten...forgiven. How would you feel? How would you have been freed from your past in order to move on to an amazing future?

Think about it. Forgiveness is always the best option - for everyone.

To learn more about MakeYouThink's film on Forgiveness click here or to purchase the film visit the online store.

Subscribe toMakeYouThink TV Thoughtsby Email
