Andrew has a classic look and a perfect fitness model height at 5’11. His amazing stature has been well-accentuated by the artistic genius of Michael Jepsen in this series of images and he definitely has the body and look of an up and coming published fitness model.

Andrew looked up to fitness stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Arnold Schwarzenegger for inspiration as well as his very own uncle who used to be a bodybuilder. Asked about what he hopes to achieve as a male fitness model, Andrew says, ” I want to achieve greatness on a new level in modeling- the glory but for me its to never be satisfied, I know when I reach it though, I’ll still set new levels and new dreams.” We’re excited for what is to come from Andrew and looking forward to see  him accomplished great things in fitness modeling and beyond! Iowa maybe more known for its corn farms and election primaries than its roster of up and coming male fitness models, but 20-year-old JC Salter is slowly putting a spotlight on The Hawkeye State, as a recent discovery of Michael Downs.

JC recently competed at the Arnold Classics, the official event that kicks-off the competition season for the bodybuilding world and one of the largest and most prestigious of its kind. He participated at the amateur division with friend, Kevin Lisak, whom he met through Kevin’s online personal training business.

Kevin introduced him to Michael. He shot with him for a three-day photo shoot in Tampa, FL right before he flew to Ohio for the Classics. Asked about his experience with the shoot, JC says, “it was great, laid-back and relaxing, but it was a hard work shooting all day.”

JC was a four-sport athlete at Ottumwa, the Southern Iowa city where he grew up and currently lives. He has always loved sports, but as a high-school student didn’t care what he ate. “I had no knowledge of nutrition,” he said. That changed when he started to take bodybuilding more seriously.

“I grew up always playing – captain of the football team, always big but never really in-shape,” said JC.

After high-school, JC began playing baseball for his college’s team, but felt that his collegiate sports career was becoming more of a job. His attention and passion was slowly shifting to something he had to do as a part of his baseball team training – working out and hitting the gym regularly.

It was a newfound interest that he has been familiar with ever since.

“I have always admired how the guys look the way they look, and enjoyed learning the nutrition and training and hard work they put into it,” said JC, referring to the models on fitness magazines. He’s a huge fan of IFBB Pro and sponsored athlete, Steve Cook, and the world’s number one fitness model, Greg Plitt. Both of whom he considers a great inspiration. Incidentally, Greg Plitt was the subject of a series of photos by Michael Anthony Downs.

It was while he was in college that his passion for lifting increased and he gained the determination and drive to further develop his physique, transforming it to its current shredded form, practically photo shoot-ready all year round.

In an interview with the Ottumwa Carrier, JC said ““I never really planned on doing it [fitness modeling], it just kind of fell into my lap.” However, he further shares that it was something he truly enjoyed.

In much as the same way that numerous people have inspired him, JC hopes to do the same for others.

He has begun offering online personal training programs and is currently working at his local gym as a personal trainer. Ask about his goals as a fitness model, JC said that he basically aspires to be better every time and be part of the industry for the long-term.

“I don’t want to someone just involved for a little while. I want to get my name out there and meet new people as well as gain friends in the business,” JC said. “I also eventually want to get my IFBB Pro Card and land a big name sponsor.”

JC just recently graduated and now has an Emergency Medical Training degree and will soon be doing firefighter training. His immediate career goal is to become a firefighter.

As someone who is naturally competitive and self-motivated, JC keeps in mind where his goals are. He wakes up motivated and with a sense of purpose and every day he takes a step towards accomplishing his goal.

“You’ll see more of me,” JC said. Him and Michael Anthony Downs are scheduled to do another photo shoot this May in LA.

The Iowan is certainly growing his presence in the industry and it will be exciting to see where his passion and dedication to his building up his physique and becoming an accomplished bodybuilder will take him.

The prolific Seth London is slowly building his name in the field of male physique photography and he didn’t spare any talent in capturing the essence and masculine beauty of fitness model Cross Thompson in this series. Cross began modeling after he had his first photoshoot with a local photographer. The photos posted online had a great response and he decided to embark on the highly-competitive industry. He sees modeling as a stepping stone for him to the acting world, where he plans to also build a career. Cross is humble, fun, humorous, confident, humorous and unique and intends to become a well-known fashion and fitness model.

All American Guys has always been the eye of the mainstream commercial fitness modeling world. AAG for more than a decade has featured and discovered some of the most amazing fitness models on the industry today, including MFM’s first cover model, Jeff Grant.
As AAG continues to feature the up and coming fitness models of today, we’ve found ourselves hoping to see more of Kyle Heintz. The 5’11″ Michigan native blends the perfect look of a good-looking guy with a great body, whose natural beauty and appeal seems effortless. We could imagine seeing him as one of the leading guys in chic flicks, a la Penn Badgley or the earlier-years of Channing Tatum on She’s The Man. 10 years, funny you don’t see many model/ fighter very different professions.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MODELING?

I went to a model event  called PROSCOUT and signed with a few agencies, I would take the Greyhound bus from Newbedford, MA to NY a few times a week to go on go-sees, for the first eight months I made NO money; then I hit my first editorial for DNR Magazine, I was so excited! Forward to  this date, I have over 400 tears (magazine ads). Every body hits there stride at different period, don’t worry about what others have done, just do your best and you’ll be a boss at whatever you want to succeed in.

WHAT’S THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU THINK FITNESS MODELS FACE TODAY?

Enjoying good food ha. I eat pretty clean but I like to enjoy life. I made a lot of money fighting so the modeling now is more just for fun less pressure as when it was my only job.  A lot of these guys that are top guys look amazing, but they are real serious about diet. It’s tough to maintain that discipline for a long time. What I don’t like about it is that it’s just no realistic for a lot of guys. People get depressed when they don’t see those type of gains like the models show on creating products for example. As there’s so much more to looking like the guys in the ads than just supplements and training, when you shoot those ads you get in pre-contest shape, not how you look on Tuesday. Its not normal healthy to be at 3% body fat.  Let the mirror be your judge, not a magazine.

WHAT’S YOUR DIET LIKE?

High Protein Diet, but I accessorize my shit so it puts some flava on it, I mean plain ass chicken night after night sucks, so ill add some shredded cheese or a lil bit of chile. Give it a lil falva.

SHARE WITH US AN IDEA OF HOW YOU GO ABOUT YOUR FITNESS REGIMEN?

I train 5 sets of 5 reps on my last exercise I do 7 sets with just a min rest in between for 12 reps.

YOU SAID THAT ONE OF YOUR GOALS IS TO HELP CREATE PUT UP AN ANIMAL SHELTER, IS THAT CORRECT?

Yes all of the prize money for being worlds sexiest man will be donated to the Animal Shelter Foundation.

WHERE DID THIS LOVE FOR ANIMALS COME FROM AND HOW IT CAME TO BE?

Well, it really came from when I started to train for MMA, I did a lot of running at 5 AM and training can be lonely as I don’t like a lot of distractions.  I ran by this white ‘lil puppy by a dumpster. I ended up carrying it back home and long story short, started to run with him every morning. He is such a kind appreciative dog and I wanted to help out other dogs that are in same situation as he was.

WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS CAUSE?

Dogs don’ make bad choices, or excuses they depend on humans to take care of them so when there abandoned it is the  fault of others not there’s.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AS A MODEL AND ADVOCATE ONE YEAR FROM NOW?

Well I formed, Dumbbell Productions so  nowadays I mostly produce focusing on unscripted TV programs, we sold 2 shows this year in approaching a 3rd one which is a big on, which is fitness based.
