On my own house we have our house number on both sides of our mailbox at the street and on our house to the right of the garage.  Our house numbers are even right under a light on our garage for extra visibility.  I will say though now that I am writing this post I noticed our numbers are not as bright and shiny as they used to be.  A set of brushed nickel house numbers would probably look really sharp but I also have to look for an “N” because yes I have an “N” in our house number.  If you never have guests over then I guess it doesn’t matter but if you do then you need to consider how hard it may be for others not familiar with the area to find your house!

So please tell me does I am not the only one who hates missing addresses!?

MY THOUGHTS:

K’NEX is a brand that you may think is just building sets, but they are really so much more.  The sets include such a variety of products for younger kids through older kids (even my husband loves the bigger complex K’NEX sets!)  I got the chance to check out a few K’NEX products and as expected my kids loved them!

This Mario set can stand alone or be connected to the other Mario K’NEX sets for a big race set.  My boys were fine though with the small piece and watching Mario try to race past the piranha!  While the set is for ages 6 and up, I will say even my husband had some trouble putting it as the piece that holds and moves the piranha is pretty complex.  I will say the directions are very clear but it just takes a lot of patience and following directions.

Once together though the set was pretty together and help up to Mario racing!

Building the car was pretty easy and perfect for my boys to help. His car does require 2 AAA batteries which are not included and screw into the bottom piece.

Overall, my boys had a blast with Mario once it was set up.  Mario does go pretty fast too and they thought it was so cool that a car they “built” is battery powered.  I think it will be a lot of fun to get all the Mario K’NEX sets for a huge racetrack!

My boys (3 and 5) love building little figures with their blocks and this set was perfect for them to get started.  There are just four pieces for each Sesame Street character and the pieces are of course interchangeable!  It was very easy for them, but for a younger child it would probably be a good little challenge for them. The pieces are heavy plastic so they will be durable for everyday fun!

Lincoln Logs White River Ranch

With 90 building pieces including a hay bale, trough, dog, cow, horse and cowboy figures, your child can build several different styled log cabins with extra pieces left over for a fence or other outdoor structure.  Use the included instruction sheet for building ideas or encourage your child’s imagination by allowing them to build freely.  

When I was little, one of my favorite toys was Lincoln Logs.  I remember laying on the floor for hours building log cabins.  Back then I only had regular boring blocks so when I got Lincoln Logs they were so different.  The possibilities were endless with those logs really sparked my creativity.  I love that I can now share my love of Lincoln Logs with my boys.  They thought they were so cool, especially my 5 year old who is into wood and trees!

The White River Ranch set is great because it not only contains all the logs you need to build a ranch but also a figurine and some animals.  My boys followed the directions (with a little help) and in no time they had the set built.  I highly recommend Lincoln Logs for both boys and girls of all ages!

Overall, K’NEX is a brand that features so many great products from preschoolers and up that I have a feeling they will be part of our family for a long time!

In case you are concerned about High Fructose Corn Syrup, Lucky Leaf Pie filling does not have any it!  This recipe is basically a dump cake, which means you dump a few ingredients in a pan and cook it – my kind of cooking!

(Un-drained Crushed Pineapple and Lucky Leaf Cherry Pie Filling)

(Added Yellow Cake Mix – I used a brand from Aldi)

(Added butter and coconut)

(Almost all gone!  Yes I burned it a little bit but it still was awesome!)

This cake is super easy, few ingredients and you just dump them in – perfect for a quick dessert or to satisfy a sweet craving.  I found it to be pretty sweet but it was so good!  Definitely something different.  I was worried about it tasting since you just dumped everything in, but it cooked just fine and the cake batter taste was so yummy!

With a Cheerios loving family, I love when I can buy them in bulk.  Now at Sam’s Club , BJ’s, and Costco, Cheerios has made buying in bulk even easier.  Club stores now carry affordable new 2 box Cheerios with two individual boxes inside making easier to store and pour.  Since there is less air in each individual bag, they fit 10% more cereal than before and use less packaging.  So less packaging means saving 1,000 trees and decreased CO2 emissions.

I love that I can feed my family an affordable breakfast that they love and help the environment.  My 10 month old especially is a Cheerios-addict so buying in bulk means not running out of them as fast.  We actually don’t have a club membership right now but I am considering it with the ease of buying our favorite products in bulk.  Oh and the boxes even have Box Tops to support schools!

ABOUT:

MY THOUGHTS:

Right now we have four kids bike and we are working on getting two adult bikes for my husband and I.  Since we don’t have a shed, everything goes in our garage and bikes especially need to be accessible since my kids use them daily.  We tried lining them up nicely but they’d fall over and get stuck on one another so we started looking for the perfect bike rack for our garage.  Somehow I stumbled upon Monkey Bars and they became a garage lifesaver for us!

The Monkey Bars Bike Rack is amazing!  First off it was super simple to install, which is a plus for my not-so-handy husband,   The rack just drilled into our drywall studs and was ready to go after snapping on the bar and hooks!  We had the bikes off the garage floor in probably 30 minutes (and it only too that long because we had stud issues.)  The Bike Rack saved our bikes and our sanity!  We knew we wanted something off the ground but not on the ceiling where my 5 foot 3 self couldn’t reach!  We haven’t had any issues and this simple product is amazing how it can store six bikes in an easily accessible position.  I also think the price of less than $100 is worth it and reasonable.
