According to investigators, the robbery happened on July 28 at around 1:00 p.m., near the intersection of West 120th Street and Broadway.

Police said a 28-year-old woman was walking in the area when she was approached by two unidentified individuals riding an e-bike. One of the suspects allegedly snatched the victim's cell phone directly from her hand before the pair sped away.

Authorities said the stolen phone is valued at approximately $1,200.

After the theft, the suspects fled southbound on Morningside Avenue and were last seen heading in an unknown direction.

Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the incident.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect after a 49-year-old man was stabbed on the southbound Number 6 train platform at the 125th Street subway station in East Harlem.

According to the NYPD, the attack happened on June 17, at approximately 10:05 a.m. inside the 125th Street subway station.

Investigators said the victim was standing on the southbound platform when an unidentified man approached him from behind. Police said the suspect made a threatening statement before stabbing the victim in the arm with an unknown sharp object.

After the attack, the suspect fled the station on foot in an unknown direction.

NEW YORK, NY - A 56-year-old man was seriously injured after being pushed from a northbound 6 train at the 110th Street subway station in Manhattan during the early morning hours on Monday, police said.

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 12:55 a.m. on July 13, 2026, as the train approached the 110th Street station. Police said the victim was inside the train when he was approached by an unidentified man.

When the train doors opened, the suspect allegedly shoved the victim out of the subway car. The victim was thrown onto the platform, where he struck a bench and suffered a severe head injury, authorities said.

The suspect fled the station immediately after the attack and remains at large.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the 56-year-old victim to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was listed in serious but stable condition, according to police.

Hot Sidewalks, Heavy Air: How to Stay Safe This Summer

NEW YORK, NY - On a hot summer day in Manhattan, I feel the heat the same way many of my patients do: block by block.

As a VNS Health home care nurse, I spend much of my day walking through Sutton Place and nearby neighborhoods with my nursing supplies in hand, visiting patients in their homes. I know which blocks have shade, where the breeze picks up near the East River, and how different the city can feel from one side of the street to the other.

Many of my patients live in tall apartment buildings and spend a lot of their day indoors, sometimes because of mobility challenges and often because of chronic conditions such as COPD, asthma or heart disease. But being inside does not always mean being protected. In summer, heat, humidity and poor air quality can affect people at home more than they realize.

Hot weather involves more than just discomfort. Heat exhaustion, heatstroke, dehydration and/or poor air quality put added strain on the body. For older adults and people with underlying health conditions, that strain can worsen existing problems and turn into a serious issue quickly.

The good news is that summer in Manhattan can be enjoyed safely with a little planning and preparation. Here are a few tips I often share with patients and caregivers.

When the Air Feels Heavy, Take It Easy

When checking the forecast, don’t stop at the temperature. Humidity can make the air feel heavier and make shortness of breath worse, especially for people with asthma, COPD or heart failure.

Weather apps usually include updates on humidity and air quality. On days with high humidity or poor air quality, keeping your windows closed and using air conditioning, dehumidifiers, or HEPA air purifiers can help make indoor air more comfortable and easier to breathe.

A Little AC Can Go a Long Way

Many older adults feel cold more easily, so they may avoid using air conditioning even when their apartment becomes too warm. If you dislike cold air, try setting the air conditioner to a more comfortable temperature, such as 74 to 76 degrees, instead of turning it off completely.

Choose Shade Over Sun

Getting outside and staying active can be good for health and well-being, but summer is a good time to rethink routines. Try to avoid outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, especially late morning through mid-afternoon.

In the city even the side of the street you choose can matter. Tall buildings may create shade on one block while the other side is in direct sun. And when you head out, be sure to bring water, wear loose and light clothing, or items made from moisture wicking materials to help your body cool down more quickly. And don’t be afraid to take breaks!

Drink Before You’re Thirsty

By the time you feel thirsty, your body may already be dehydrated. During hot weather, caregivers should watch closely for signs of dehydration such as dark or strong-smelling urine, dry lips, or unusual tiredness.

Drinking more does not have to mean downing plain water all day, which patients often tell me they don’t enjoy. Try foods with high water content, such as cucumbers, watermelon or other fruits and vegetables, or slice them up and add to a pitcher of water for flavor.

Summer safety is also a neighborhood issue. If you have an older neighbor, relative or friend who lives alone, check in during heat waves, especially if they have breathing problems, heart disease or limited mobility.

Being there for some of the most vulnerable in our community ensures we can all stay healthy. Summer heat can be challenging, but with planning and preparation, we can stay safer and make the most of the season.

NEW YORK, NY - A visitor's late-night walk back to his hotel following Game 3 of the NBA Final turned violent after he was allegedly attacked and robbed by a group of individuals near Times Square in Manhattan.

According to police, the incident occurred shortly after midnight on June 9, 2026, following the conclusion of the NY Knicks loss to the San Antonio Spurs during Game 3 of the NBA Finals. When a 39-year-old man was walking to his hotel in the area of West 47th Street. Authorities say the victim was in front of 306 West 47 Street at approximately 12:17 a.m. when a group of unidentified individuals approached him.

Investigators reported that the individuals surrounded the victim before allegedly punching and kicking him multiple times. During the attack, the suspects forcibly removed a black San Antonio Spurs #21 basketball jersey that the victim was wearing.

The violent encounter highlights ongoing concerns about street robberies and group assaults in busy tourist areas of Manhattan, particularly during overnight hours when pedestrian traffic is lower.

As a result of the assault, the victim sustained lacerations to his face as well as bruising to his body. EMS responded to the scene and transported the injured man to Mount Sinai West Hospital for treatment.

Authorities said the incident occurred on June 3, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of Central Park North and Lenox Avenue. The victim was approached by an unidentified individual, and at some point, a dispute broke out between the two men.

NEW YORK, NY — Cops are looking for the man who defaced a landmark building that has served as the Consulate General of Poland in New York by spray painting it on two sepparate occasions in Murray Hill.

According to police, both incidents took place at 233 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, where an unknown suspect allegedly used spray paint to damage property on two different occasions within a span of just days.

Authorities said the first incident occurred on May 27, 2026, at approximately 7:05 p.m. Investigators report that an unidentified individual approached 233 Madison Avenue and vandalized property using black spray paint.

After causing the damage, the suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction before police arrived.

The incident is being investigated as criminal mischief involving spray paint vandalism in Manhattan, and detectives are working to determine the motive behind the act.

According to police, the incidents occurred less than an hour apart in Lower Manhattan and involved two victims of different ages. Investigators believe the same pair of suspects may be responsible for both crimes in what authorities are investigating as a Lower Manhattan robbery pattern investigation.

The first incident took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 11:18 p.m. in front of 624 East 20th Street in the area covered by the 13th Precinct.

At around 11:40 a.m. on April 30, investigators say a 48-year-old man was approached by two unidentified suspects in broad daylight near East 23rd Street and Park Avenue South near Washington Square Park in the Flatiron District. During the encounter, one of the suspects allegedly kicked the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

Police say the second suspect then pulled out a metal baseball bat and repeatedly struck the victim in the head multiple times.

NEW YORK, NY - Cops are trying to untangle a home invasion mystery. Why did three gunmen storm into a Harlem apartment to steal allergy medication?

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects wanted in connection with a violent home invasion robbery in Manhattan’s 26th Precinct earlier this month.

According to police, the incident happened on May 17, 2026, at approximately 3:35 p.m. inside a residential building located on Old Broadway between West 131st Street and West 133rd Street in Harlem.

According to police, the incident happened during the early morning hours of May 11, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m. inside the 96 Street subway station within the confines of the 26 Precinct and Transit District 3.

Authorities say a 57-year-old man was riding aboard a northbound “2” subway train when an unidentified individual approached him and became involved in a verbal dispute. The confrontation quickly escalated when the suspect allegedly displayed a sharp instrument and stabbed the victim multiple times in the abdomen.

The victim managed to exit the train and was later transported by EMS to Mount Sinai Morningside. Police said the man was listed in stable condition following the attack.
