I thought I'd try the American Apparel website since your blog has the same feel to it (i.e. the type), but to my dismay they did have a "clickable" logo…well I guess that's a good thing?

Great point. It seems like other, more mature, mediums have addressed the content problem. It's time for us to do it on the web now…

Sweet presentation, sorry I couldn't make it. It's crazy that we need to be reminded about the value and priority of content in web projects. It's funny, because TV, radio, and print advertising seem to have a proper "message first" focus, just not the web. Can you imagine a TV commercial just having pretty video or pictures...without saying anything.

Definitely a content-heavy meeting this time. Glad to be a part of it!

Any method to parse a huge amount of RSS feeds would be helpful. I dig Gruml, but that Fever web app looks pretty nice!

[...] Tracking Project Hours/Deadlines Dec.10, 2009 in Work Lately I’ve been trying to work out a good process for quoting projects and tracking the billable hours and deadlines. I’ve a couple large projects go over budget/deadline, and I think two of the main reasons are that I wasn’t realistic enough in the quote, and that I just wasn’t being intentional about monitoring the progress. My natural tendency is is to leave all the “business” stuff to my boss and just focus on doing my core job right, I need to take those things into account because how I do my job has a direct impact on whether or not the ultimate project goals are met. With my anal-retentiveness I can spend 3 hours on something that could be done the “wrong” way in 30 minutes.
