			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I remember when I was in the third grade had a period towards the end of the school year when we were studying tadpoles and frogs. We had fish tanks in our classroom where some had tadpoles to look at, and some had frogs.</p>
<p>On my last day of school, kids who had the permission from their parents got to bring home tadpoles in a glass jar.</p>
<p>I was one of the &#8220;lucky&#8221; students who had permission to bring home tadpoles. Along with the jar our teacher gave us specific instruction on how to properly care for the tadpoles. I remember one of the SPECIFIC instructions on read, &#8220;Do not use soap to clean out your tank. SOAP KILLS TADPOLES.&#8221;</p>
<p>In other words, soap puts an immediate end to the fledgling life of a tadpole killing any chances (no pun intended) of it growing into a frog.</p>
<p>It kind of makes me think of when we allow weeds to grow along with our plants. Eventually, if we don&#8217;t pull out the weeds, they will choke the life out of the plant.</p>
<p>Well, when we have a goal of manifesting abundance with the Law of Attraction, there&#8217;s a fatal mistake that you may be guilty of making that kills the process of manifesting abundance before it even starts.</p>
<p>This mistake may be the reason why you&#8217;re not getting anywhere with the Law of Attraction whatsoever.</p>
<p>You have a dream or desire you want to manifest, you start to visualize and make your release your intention of manifesting it, but then you do something that throws you off focus, and then you abandon the whole process, only to try again a few months later, and wind up repeating the same mistake over and over again.</p>
<p>Before I tell you what this FATAL error is, I have to ask you:</p>
<p>- Do you consider yourself a rational, intelligent person? &#8211; Do you consider yourself a person who is well grounded in reality? &#8211; Do you pride yourself as being very logical?</p>
<p>Well my friend, if your answer is &#8220;yes&#8221; to these questions, that&#8217;s all good when it comes to the real world and dealing with certain problems, but when it comes to reality creation, this is what is killing your chances of manifesting abundance with the Law of Attraction.</p>
<p>The FATAL mistake you&#8217;re making is you&#8217;re trying to use logic to deal with manifesting your dreams, and logic really has no place when using the Law of Attraction.</p>
<p>You start off with your desire, then you start trying to rationalize &#8220;how&#8221; it&#8217;s going to manifest, &#8220;when&#8221; it&#8217;s going to manifest, and the likelihood of it manifesting, and then these questions trigger fear and doubt, which kills the seed of your dream and causes you to lose focus.</p>
<p>Those that have mastered reality creation with the Law of Attraction have a TOTALLY different mindset about manifesting abundance.</p>
<p>They have a way of thinking that guarantees that they manifest their desires 100% of the time in a surprisingly speedy and amazing fashion that would make the average person believe that he witnessed a miracle. And you know what?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>What do you think can contribute significantly in the pursuit of happiness- Science or Spirituality?</em></p>
<p><em></em> I know that most of you would answer in favor of science. With its spectacular progress in last couple of centuries, science has definitely made human life much easier, healthier and comfortable with its innumerable inventions. Not only that, science has also provided human race with countless means of entertainment. It is no surprise that most of the younger generation is fervent enthusiast of Science.   Another factor that helped you in deciding in favor of science might be the ignorance of true meaning of spirituality and its misinterpretation as part of religion. There are wide spread myths that science is logical, while spirituality is only based on beliefs and superstitions; science can be applied usefully in human life, whereas spirituality is mere set of esoteric impractical philosophies.</p>
<p>If Spirituality is defined as the exploration of the inner world: your mind, intellect, ego, life energy and the true nature of your spirit, then you might reconsider your answer. Let me shed some light on the word &#8220;spirituality&#8221;, before re-phrasing my question. As per Wikipedia, Spirituality is defined as &#8220;an ultimate reality or transcendent dimension of the world; an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his or her being, or the deepest values and meanings by which people live.&#8221; Spiritual practices, including meditation, prayer and contemplation, are intended to develop an individual&#8217;s inner life.   In the light of this clarification, let me ask you a few more questions: &#8220;Do you think peace of mind and contentment are important components of happiness?&#8221;, &#8220;Do you think Science has contributed to improve love, compassion, peace and contentment among people, societies and countries?&#8221;, &#8220;Do you think that because of recent scientific progress, man has become even more stressful and restless?&#8221;   Well, now you might be interested in analyzing this topic even further.</p>
<p>One of the well accepted definition of science is &#8220;the experimentally acquired knowledge of the objective laws that govern creation.&#8221; Spirituality can also be defined as science because it constitutes of the knowledge of divine laws that governs our inner world. When the objective knowledge is applied in the external world for the material benefit of human race, it can be called as applied modern science. When the subjective knowledge that is acquired by self-analysis of inner world by the mystics and saints, is applied for the spiritual benefit of human race, it is called as spirituality.</p>
<p><strong>A few distinctions between science and spirituality</strong></p>
<p>Science explores the outer world and deals with the analysis of the objective world that can be sensed by our senses or instruments. Spirituality explores the inner world and deals with the analysis of the subjective world that is beyond senses i.e. the world of mind, intellect, spirit, love, compassion, peace and inner happiness. Science limits itself to the physical forms of energies that can be gauged, whereas spirituality deals with the supreme energy- the consciousness.</p>
<p>The goal of Science is to provide you with physical well being and physical comforts. The goal of Spirituality is to provide you with mental peace, contentment, love, compassion, peace and long lasting happiness.   Science has made human race selfish with no consideration to environment. During last century, due to scientific progress, human race has exploited and continue to exploit nature beyond viable limits. Spirituality refrain us from exploiting nature for our physical benefits and has thrived for thousands of years in true harmony with nature.   Science provides us with various means of deriving momentary sensual pleasures, whereas spirituality gives us insight to experience long lasting inner happiness by means of meditation, contemplation etc. Science tends to make us restless, whereas spirituality helps us to gain serenity of mind.   Just by exploring the outer world with the help of science, you get to know yourself as a limited body in the vast universe, whereas by exploring the inner world with the help of spirituality, you come to realize that you are part and parcel of the supreme spirit that is regulating the whole universe.   While exploring the objective world, science divides the object into parts and then analyze. In this manner it disintegrates the whole universe into different components. While exploring the subjective world, spirituality unites the whole universe as one non-dual conscious being.<br />
<strong>Science and spirituality goes hand in hand in our pursuit of happiness</strong></p>
<p>Unfortunately, we learn a lot about various streams of science and the outer world in schools and colleges. However, there is no methodical training available to educate us about the inner world and about life in general; about what is the goal of life; about how to cope up with the adversities of life; about self restraint and refraining from over indulgence in sensual pleasures; about the higher values of life. This is where spirituality can help us.   Science can definitely provide us with a lot of gadgets to make our life easier and to entertain us. However, you also need spirituality, with the help of which you can make proper use of science, without abusing it.   Einstein insisted, &#8220;Science without Religion is lame, Religion without science is blind.&#8221; However, those scientists are very who try to spiritualize the Science and it&#8217;s rare to find spiritual mystics who scientifically approach spirituality. Science, if not supported with moral values, might put on an ugly face of destruction.   Science and spirituality are integral part of human endeavours to gain fulfillment in life. Science and spirituality are inseparable in the interest of the wholesome human progress.</p>
<p>Thousands of years ago, the mystics of India realized this and inscribed in one of the Upnishads, called Ishopanishad that &#8220;the life of bare contemplation (spirituality and meditation) and the life of bare activity (applied science) are alike, fraught with evil; but that he alone may be said to attain the goal of life who knows how to harmonise the two different paths.&#8221;   For true human progress, money and materials alone cannot deliver the goods. The power given to man by science can be used to make heavens on earth if the due importance is given to spirituality as well. Our fulfilment is dependent on our ability to live in harmony with the external world, where science can help and our ability to live in harmony with ourselves, where spirituality can help. By maintaining the equilibrium of science and spirituality in our lives, we can not only enjoy the pleasures of outer world, but also the wholesome ever-present bliss of our spirit. This is the goal of our pursuit of happiness.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most important promises we make are the promises we make to ourselves. How many of us have said to ourselves, &#8220;I&#8217;m going to the gym everyday for the next month,&#8221; &#8220;I&#8217;m going to lose 20 lbs. in 2 weeks&#8221;, &#8220;this is my last drink&#8221;, or &#8220;I&#8217;ll never smoke again&#8221;. Many of us are great at making mental lists of promises to ourselves, but at the end of the day see only one or two items checked off. What does that feel like to make that promise and then not keep it&#8230; it feels really terrible right? Our self-esteem is on a path of being diminished.</p>
<p>Many of us minimize how important those promises are because we think since we made the promise privately and are not accountable to anyone else then no one will ever know. In fact, we should be honoring ourselves as the most important person in the world to make a promise to and keep it! Why is it that we sometimes give more love and respect to other people in our lives rather than to ourselves?</p>
<p>We must be sure that we are striking balance in our lives; if you live with the idea that Balance is the Key to life and strive to achieve that, and then you are much more likely to realize that balance. Too much of anything isn&#8217;t good, having a big bowl of ice cream&#8230; good, five big bowls&#8230; not good.</p>
<p>That sure sounds easier said than done&#8230; huh? But again striving to be better everyday is what it&#8217;s all about, we&#8217;re all a work in progress and it is important to be kind to ourselves and only compare ourselves to ourselves. There is no one that has the same gifts that we have and when we recognize that it is amazing how much we will thrive.</p>

An obsession is something that is usually in the mind and can relate to people, things and ideas; so all that is abstract and all that is concrete.</p>
<p>On the other hand, an addiction is something that could be described as a doing and relates to the actions that one takes. It is possible for one to be addicted to something without thinking about it all the time; and for someone to be obsessed by something without the need to act on the obsession.</p>
<p><strong>Examples</strong></p>
<p>One can become obsessed with anything and this can be to do with people who are: actors, musicians, sports stars or models. Just as one can become obsessed with: losing or gaining Weight, looking younger than they are, looking good at all times and to eating the right foods.</p>
<p>As well as these examples, one can also be obsessed with: fame, success and winning. And this can relate to a man or a woman that one is in a relationship with or someone who one wished they were in a relationship with.</p>
<p><strong>Obsessed</strong></p>
<p>The words &#8216;you&#8217;re so obsessed&#8217; are often expressed when one person becomes aware of this in another person. An obsession can then seem to be something that one should feel ashamed of for having.</p>
<p>And while it is clear that it could well lead to dysfunctional and unhealthy experiences, it is clearly not black and white. Although it may well be displayed as something to be avoided, it can also lead to incredible productivity, achievement and success.</p>
<p><strong>Focus</strong></p>
<p>However, this will of course depend on what one is obsessed with. If one is obsessed with losing weight for instance, it can lead to both positive and negative consequences. On the positive side, it will mean that one is likely to stick to the process and not give up on what needs to be done.</p>
<p>It could also mean that one will lose sight of everything else in their life and the balance that this would bring; creating intense stress, anxiety and pressure in the process. And due to the attachment that being obsessed creates, it may result in one feeling hopeless, disempowered and even depressed if it doesn&#8217;t go to plan.</p>
<p><strong>Attachment</strong></p>
<p>This gives us an insight into what obsession actually is. It involves the mind attaching to something. And once it has attached to this, be it an idea or a person, it will not let go; A bit like a baby with a dummy.</p>
<p>Here ones whole focus will be consumed by an object, idea or fantasy. There will be no space or time for anything else to be allowed into one&#8217;s mind. So what the ego mind can do though this process, is to regulate uncomfortable and unpleasant emotions.</p>
<p><strong>Regulation</strong></p>
<p>An obsession could be labelled as a defence mechanism. At first glance it would be easy to point the finger at ideas, objects or people and to say that these things have power over the person who is obsessed. But this is only part of the equation.</p>
<p>Through being attached, they are acting as a distraction and as a way to avoid what is too painful for the mind to face. So, as I mentioned above; they are helping to regulate ones emotions, but this is unlikely to be a long term solution.</p>
<p><strong>Part Of Life</strong></p>
<p>Unless one lives on a mountain or in the middle of nowhere and away from everything, there is going to be internal unrest at times. And one way to deal with this is to become obsessed to something that will take ones attention away from the pain.</p>
<p>And if that is something that will lead to a sense of fulfilment being created and not to long term problems, then it is surely a good thing. At times this may lead to sense of unbalance; but that&#8217;s part of life and can&#8217;t always be avoided and neither does it need to be.</p>
<p><strong>Awareness</strong></p>
<p>What is important here is that one is aware enough to monitor this process. To evaluate what is happening and then to decide if it is leading to or will lead to the consequences that one wants to create.</p>
<p>It would easy to say an obsession is a bad thing, but it&#8217;s obviously not that simple. How emotional aware and intelligent one is, will go a long way to defining what one is obsessed to and how obsessed they become.</p>
<p>If this has become a problem in one&#8217;s life, then they may need to seek the assistance of a therapist, healer or coach. Or to educate themselves further on this important topic.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Can you go back and change the past, or are you stuck with what you remember?</p>
<p>That&#8217;s the key: what you remember. The fact is, our brains are stuffed with memories, only some of which we retrieve, convincing ourselves we have a true and complete picture of the past when in fact we have a partial, often negative, picture of our history.</p>
<p>Why the emphasis on the negative? Our nervous systems record unpleasant events, including the cues that lead up to them, rapidly. Then they cling as if they were barnacles on a hull. Pleasant things, on the other hand, are stored more slowly and fade more quickly. Why? Because of our need to learn and respond quickly to threatening signals, signals that might threaten our very life.</p>
<p>Even when the cues simply signaled the start of the third grade spelling test, our bodies react as if that were a life-threatening event.</p>
<p>Once we have this negative mind set, we reach out and store more events that fit the template we have set up. We notice those things that confirm our observation that life is hard. One researcher, Paul Meehl, noting our tendency to become more depressed as we aged, called this phenomenon &#8220;aversive drift.&#8221;</p>
<p>Can you change this? Yes – by taking the time to focus deliberately on pleasant events, especially before bedtime every night. During the day, sniff the roses, hear the birds, respond to the smiles you encounter.</p>
<p>You can actually build up a foundation of good memories that will attract more and more that are similar – and even start recovering pleasant memories from long ago that you haven&#8217;t accessed in a long, long time.</p>
<p>The warm encounters I had at my recent alumnae meeting triggered wonderful memories: approaching the campus as the sun rose, gilding the buildings with soft rosy gold,  thinking &#8220;this is my campus&#8221;; exploring the cubby holes and stacks of the old library, finding treasures in bound journals that had nothing to do with what I was supposed  to be studying; strolling down  a rural lane in summer, surrounded by silence, bees humming in the foliage, only to discover that one of those ivy-covered buildings was a high energy physics lab – all of these memories had lain buried beneath remembrance of the stress of living – and being evaluated – in a highly competitive atmosphere.  But that wasn&#8217;t all that was happening; lovely things were all around me, and apparently were being recorded in my brain.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not about re-creating the past; instead, you highlight the pleasurable aspects of it, eventually  overriding the more unpleasant events.</p>
<p>And if you think of the past as what happened a second ago, you can start consciously to work on building up a warm, confident past now, and watch how it influences those old storage files that reach far back into the past.</p>

<p>In order for you to really break bad habits you must: a) be aware that the unconscious mind exists and b) learn how to manipulate its existence.</p>
<p>And affirmations are great and powerful techniques in which, if used effectively, could bring out and address directly to your unconscious being.</p>
<p>By uttering simple positive statements of the way you wish to live your life, then reiterating them out loud daily, you teach your unconscious thoughts in order to guide you to a better path to be reflected by your whole senses.</p>
<p>You can use:</p>
<p>Situational statements: one of a kind affirmations which provide a definite aim in your life. Some examples are:</p>
<p>-  &#8220;My heart and lungs are healthy.&#8221;<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The first situation to consider is the relationship between thoughts and conditions like depression and stress. A crucial question is whether the person&#8217;s thoughts are creating the physical depression or the physical depression is creating the negative thinking. When it comes to how you can use your mind to help, this can be accomplished consciously and subconsciously. When someone has a habit of imagining things turning out very badly, rational thinking can show show them that they often exaggerate. However, the unconscious mind is much more powerful in shaping our habitual behavior, oftentimes beyond our conscious control. Visualization and hypnosis can be very effective in modifying beliefs and, if you do this, the long-lasting effects can be more powerful than using logic only.</p>
<p>It is likewise true that positive thinking can have an impact on our physical health, and you may be aware of the placebo effect on people who feel ill. This is when individuals are given a pill which in reality does not have any healing value, and yet they claim to notice an improvement in how they feel. This is evidence of the connection between mind and body, and there are many examples of men and women with a positive outlook being able to recover faster from malady and injury. You can also use the power of your mind to help you in achieving your fitness goals. A historic example of this is when the four minute barrier for running the mile was broken, which had been considered as unachievable up to that point. Once the &#8220;barrier&#8221; had been broken, other runners also began to break through what had really been a barrier of belief.</p>
<p>The effects of aging are likewise influenced by how we think about the process. As you get older, do you talk to your friends about your &#8220;aches and pains&#8221; and your weakened capabilities? It seems there&#8217;s a great deal of truth to the saying, &#8220;You&#8217;re only as old as you think you are,&#8221; and our thoughts can be used to undo a lot of the so-called effects of aging. Unfortunately, numerous individuals will continue to hold on to old beliefs about the unavoidable &#8220;decline&#8221; of health in old age, and not pay attention to the benefits of a positive outlook.</p>
<p>Now that you are aware that your attitude can bring you a much better state of health, it&#8217;s up to you to take advantage of this information and set your intention to think positive thoughts whenever you remember.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>These are certainly hectic times we are living in where stress is all to common with more and more people leading increasingly stressful lives. It is suggested by experts that stress is good to a certain extent, it&#8217;s what keeps you pushing forwards and helps you to remain sharp and focused.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s when stress becomes almost habitual and you react to stress in a manner which gets you more frustrated and worked up that it really becomes a problem.</p>
<p>If left to manifest and not managed effectively stress can have a damaging impact on both your mental and physical well-being. Frequent and prolonged episodes of stress can cause a lot of mental pressure and cause physical symptoms such as restlessness, increased heart and blood pressure and so on. That&#8217;s why you need to learn how to prevent stress and change the way in which you react stress and stressful situations.</p>
<p><em><strong>Here are a few tips for preventing stress:</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Identify the triggers/ causes</strong></p>
<p>One of the key factors in the prevention of stress is identifying the key areas that are contributing to your stress. Most commonly personal and family related problems as well as work related problems are among the biggest causes of stress. Identify the areas that are leading to you feeling stressed so that you can learn to take corrective measures.<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>Taking Corrective Measures</strong></p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve identified the key areas for causing you to feel stressed you need to try and work out effective coping mechanisms. Let&#8217;s say for example that I was traveling to work each morning on public transport during rush hour which was chaos and causing me to arrive at work stressed and agitated. I would look for solutions such as leaving for a work a little earlier to avoid the rush hour commuters and have a relaxing &#8211; &#8220;stress free&#8221; journey to work.</p>
<p>Sure I would be early for work but make a new habit such as having a cup of coffee in the local cafe before work and get yourself mentally prepped for the days challenges. There&#8217;s always solutions if you analyze closely enough. Work on finding manageable solutions to the triggers and causes of your stress.</p>
<p><strong>Calm Down</strong></p>
<p>Whenever you&#8217;re beginning to feel stressed take stock of the situation. Take a few moments to refrain from whatever you&#8217;re engaging in that&#8217;s causing you to feel this way and re-focus your thoughts and energy. Taking a few deep breathes whenever you&#8217;re beginning to feel stressed is a great way to calm the mind and help prevent stress from manifesting.</p>
<p><strong>Relaxation Response</strong></p>
<p>The relaxation response is a great technique for lowering stress levels which works on the emphasis of having a relaxation response to stressful situations. Your reaction to stress and stressful situations becomes habitual and the key in the prevention of stress is the way in which you respond to it. That&#8217;s why you want to develop a technique for helping you to keep a calm mind and remain focused even when you&#8217;re feeling extremely stressed.</p>
<p>There are a number of different practices you could use as a relaxation response to stress such as affirmations or perhaps controlled breathing, the key however is consistency, it takes a while to change habits, it&#8217;s not an overnight process so practice your relaxation response as often as possible.</p>
<p>To sum up you&#8217;ll want to remember that the true causes of stress are not the experiences and situations you encounter but how you react to them. Work on changing your attitude and developing a positive inner-dialogue. Over-time your old habits and response to stress will become a thing of the past and you&#8217;ll have a much better means for preventing stress.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The term &#8220;Law of Attraction&#8221; has been thrown around a lot lately but most people still do not understand what it means. It really is a general term that states that if a person&#8217;s thought processes are clear and intention is focused, then those things they desire or need will come to them spontaneously and without struggle. There are actually many aspects to the Law of Attraction, some of these are obvious and can be easily demonstrated but other aspects of the idea  are mystical,  metaphysical and esoteric.</p>
<p>If one  were to criticize the concept it could be said that the evidence provided is unmeasurable, usually anecdotal, and that because of the self-selecting nature of the positive reports, as well as the subjective nature of any results, these reports are susceptible to what Game Theory would call &#8220;confirmation bias&#8221; and &#8220;selection bias&#8221;.  Critics point out that the law of attraction only seems to work because most of the anecdotes associated with the theory are about people who live in circumstances that offer some path allowing them to overcome adversity.  Much of the world, unfortunately, does not offer these escape routes to ordinary people, no matter how &#8220;positively&#8221; they think.</p>
<p>Self Esteem is a state of mind.</p>
<p>I received this classic tale from the world of human potential and from my friend Safeer and wanted to share it.</p>
<p>A well-known speaker started off his seminar holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, &#8220;Who would like this $20 bill?&#8221; Hands started going up. He said, &#8220;I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.&#8221;</p>
<p>He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, &#8220;Who still wants it&#8230;?&#8221; Still the hands were up in the air. &#8220;Well,&#8221; he replied, &#8220;What if I do thi&#8230;s?&#8221; And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. &#8220;Now, who still wants it?&#8221; Still the hands went into the air.</p>
<p>&#8220;My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.</p>
<p>Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.</p>
<p>You are special-Don&#8217;t EVER forget it.&#8221; If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it may bring. Count your blessings, not your problems.</p>
