Hi, Everyone!

There is a forthcoming book entitled J.C. Fields, Turbulence in Mathematics, and the Medal by Frances Hoffman and Elaine McKinnon Riehm (please see the Fields medal page on the Fields Institute website). I've yet to see a copy of the book (even in draft) - I'm interested to see how my thesis research has been cited and used in the book (if at all).

Have a great day!

Hey, useful post. For using scripts as automator actions in the contextual menu in Snow Leopard, here are some simple instructions:

http://www.reynoldsftw.com/2009/08/automator-and-finder-interactions-in-os-x-10-6/

In short - 'Services' is the new mechanism for this. Simply:

Open automator
File -> New -> Service

... configure the action as needed. For instance in this case it would be 'Service receives selected {files and folders} in {finder}'...

Drag in the script / action into the section below labelled 'Drag actions or files here to build your workflow'

Save the service with a name you wish to appear in the contextual menu

Your done! Its a lot faster at executing in Snow Leopard as well.

Have fun,

Hi, Everyone!

There are many issues involved with pricing coins (like any collectible item), that simply stating year and perceived condition is not enough information. What may seem like Mint condition may not be Mint condition at all to a professional numismatist or grading company. What I would recommend is getting yourself a copy of a book like Canadian Coins - Vol. One: Numismatic Issues 2010, 64th Ed. (Charlton's Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins). If you're fortunate, your public library will subscribe to Charlton's Standard Catalogue series of books on identifying and pricing collectible items.

Have a great day!

Just to let you know these cairns are called Inukshuks. You will find them across Canada.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inukshuk
An inuksuk (plural inuksuit) [1] (from the Inuktitut: ᐃᓄᒃᓱᒃ, plural ᐃᓄᒃᓱᐃᑦ; alternatively inukshuk in English[2] or inukhuk in Inuinnaqtun[3]) is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America. These structures are found from Alaska to Greenland. This region, above the Arctic Circle, is dominated by the tundra biome, containing areas with few natural landmarks.

The inuksuk may have been used for navigation, as a point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds, or as a food cache.[4] The Inupiat in northern Alaska used inuksuit to assist in the herding of caribou into contained areas for slaughter.[5] Inuksuit vary in shape and size, with deep roots in the Inuit culture.

Historically the most common type of inukshuk is a single stone positioned in an upright manner.[6] An inuksuk is often confused with an inunnguaq, a cairn representing a human figure. There is some debate as to whether the appearance of human- or cross-shaped cairns developed in the Inuit culture before the arrival of European missionaries and explorers.[6]

At Enukso Point on Baffin Island, there are over 100 inuksuit. The area has been designated one of Canada's national historic sites.[7][8]

Hi, Dirty Logic!

Thank you for pointing this out for me - just a UI design issue - I couldn't find the "advanced search".

When looking for fonts, there are some options available just under the paging. After the submit button is a text-link titled "more options". Click on this link and you'll be able to select fonts by license (e.g., public domain only). This is the "advanced search" that Dirty Logic mentioned in his comment.

Thanks again!

All the best,

M.E.B.

Click on advanced search dude. You can easily select which fonts you want by license while browsing.
