Marek Foss

About me

I am a graduate of the Oxford University Computing Laboratory where I have taken the Master`s Course in Computer Science. I focus on Information Extraction and processing of big data, especially for the Semantic Web. I conducted research on this topic during my stay at the Oxford-MAN Institute of Quantitative Finance.

With my partner I started Foture, a company that provides expertise, analysis and executive seminars on Social Media, Gamification and Innovation.

I have written IT

At the Oxford University I had a chance to take a different look at the Information Technology. While following the course of Computers in Society, I prepared a set of articles on issues that may rise in the industry in the near future.

You know my name

Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) movement proved that the developers all over the World are willing to modify and enhance the software — just for the benefit of the community. It also showed that the applications can be free and have quality.

In my current Web Development, I prefer Object Oriented Perl, and focus on simplicity, usability and well-formed user interfaces, with great user experience. In my spare time, I like to create eyecandy designs and logotypes.
