Lost series finale didn’t give us any explanation to the question that need to be answered. Full of drama crap – ‘and they lived happily ever after’ tale, tho they died. Where the hell is the mystery, sci-fi, thriller thing? It’s like, ok, it’s all dream, I got you.
I actually dropped this series somewhere in season 4, too many unresolved mystery, supernatural-weird way, the story wanders off in the middle nowhere. But I picked it up again last month when I knew the end is near (stupid comparison, smallville will end next season, 10 season, I give up at season 7). No other better series to watch atm.

Whatever happened, happened. See you in another life, brother. Moving on, Dude.

I’m a power user on both tracker (don’t have the same position actually, power user at tv still a low rank)

Content: DH = TV (scene)
Pack, Freeleech: DH > TV
Community, staff: DH = TV (I’m not active on both)
Ratio watch: DH < TV (tv got market and gold too)
Speed: DH = TV (top 5?)
Leeching: DH < TV (new files, many seedbox on tv)
Seeding: DH = TV (you can't beat seedbox, but seeding time on dh is longer)
What else?

∴ for poor guy like me (low bandwidth, low spec) TV > DH (except the pack)

I wonder how site like filesharefreak, or many other private tracker’s watcher rank all those site. Another approach came from peekinside, rank based on user votes. But still, people ought to vote tracker they have account on. I like this tracker, I vote ten, hell with other tracker.

Is there any out there collector who have account on all those top tracker? A tracker’s god? Considerable approach, I think, is comparing two or more tracker, then those result is compared to another comparison (others can still object to the comparison). For example one says xx > yy, other says yy > zz, and basically xx > zz.

But anyhow, FTN still on top of the game. A stupefyingly tedious task to get there.

Music Listening Histories Analyzer

I got this nice app, LastHistory, it analyze music listening histories from Last.fm through an interactive (dot) visualization.

But this app still lack of numerical data. From the picture above, I can say that I’m really a night owl. Most of my library is rock (pink), I like post-rock.

The other music analyzer is iTunes genius. It’s pretty neat. Picture below show us Genius Mixes, that categorize music library based on genre. You can make playlist based on one song too.

I was slowing down last month. 31 movies. Many crap R5 came out last month, but I didn’t get it. Only one new movie (on the scene) worth mentioning I think, The Road. New Moon is crap, Merantau have an ok action scene, Killer Bean, nice animation, considering it’s a one man show. And I finished project thel671 too, 28.12 gigs.

Mac OS X: Sub to Srt

I got this hint from macosxhints somewhere.

Say you downloaded movies from scene, sub included, usually it’s on sub + idx format. Many media player don’t work well with this, or you just want plain srt files. What you need is D-Subtitler, OCR (Optical character recognition) app, it scan an image and encode it into text. This is an old released app. Sometimes the result is just muddy.

Way to do it:

Change extension *.sub to *.vob
Drag and drop to D-Subtitler. When it says it’s waiting, click on the green circle (I always thought I have to wait for something).
So far all subs I got only work with Choice of gray levels: 255,255,0,255
Use TextEdit to scan any error (Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar ) ⌘:
You can use more complex and serious app like MovCaptioner. This is actually used for captioning.

Torrent Auto Download: Transmission & Automatic

Last few weeks, all TV show in my watchlist are downloaded automatically. Just need two application to do that. Transmission, still best torrent client for Mac I think, but I’m not trying µTorrent beta for Mac yet. Second, Automatic (preference pane plugin actually), allows you to auto download content linked in RSS feeds: podcasts, videocasts, torrentcasts.

How to set it up? Quick Start Guide & Tips available in zip files you get Automatic’s site. It’s pretty clear, screenshot available. Get the feed link, make new subscription, insert filter. In Transmission, you only need to set ‘Watch for torrent files in’ (Preferences > Transfer). Code On a Diet, both lightweight and easy on the resources.

Oot. Midseason, many new show. Best new show: The Pacific, story about World War II, created by the same team behind Band of Brothers.

The winner is better than last year. So many great movies in 2009, double nominees for Best Picture.

On the Oscar day, I actually want to upload subtitle for El secreto de sus ojos (foreign language winner), but I deleted it accidentally. It isn’t serious detective stuff. But overall it’s nice. Yeah, better than prophète, weisse band, and of course la teta asustada.

2010. Still waiting for better release of Percy Jackson. Curious about Prince of Persia, I played it once. Eat, Pray, Love, it was shot in Bali. There’s avatar this year too :D. The last airbender. What else? Trilogy… Toy Story, Twilight (bleh, Vomit’s releases type). Damn, I forgot. Tron Legacy, epic?

Anyhow, Skins series 4 just ended yesterday. Nice cast this last 2 season, they got twins and the L word :p. These cast will be changed next season, new gang. The story is just the same, nonsense trash and depressing, fuck each other literally and figuratively. Bleach. Totally boring, waste of my bandwitdh, I downloaded it from the first episode, ~45GB. They’re like going to therapist, and there are Q&A session too. Damn.

It’s kinda slow on the scene and tv last month (by the way ZeroSec totally dead, now we take refugee in SceneSource). So, as you can see, way too many old movies (released on the scene before last month).

Count: 49 movies. 16 new.

Someone asked me for recommendation last month. So, for this month; I’m not watching Crazy Heart yet, but I think we must (3 oscar nomination – countdown to live event, 5 days).
[Rec] 2 is out, it’s mediocre, but it’s the sequel, continuation from the first one.

Animation. You must see Logorama, short animation, oscar nominee. $9.99 is nice, and Penguins quartet got their own DVD, though half of the DVD come from the series.

One more thing, ブリーチ project finished last month, [47.61 GB]₁₀ too many to watch, and I finished DLing-watching Californication season 3 in one day.

Not bad. The first reason I post this is because they are founded in Medan, 3 hours from my hometown. Not bad. But I expect cleaner audio and more tense.

A wonderful emotive album. Both delicate and powerful. Hints of Slowdive and Sigur Ros – which can’t be a bad thing. More fantastic shoegaze influenced music from Indonesia.

Reverse Shadow Theatre with Animata

Wayang is an Indonesian word for theatre (literally “shadow”). Wayang Kulit is the indonesian shadow puppet theatre, in which finely carved and painted leather puppets move behind a screen making the audiance see their shadows only.

In Reverse Shadow Theatre (vimeo) the situation is reversed. The role of the elaborate puppets is emphasized, while the visitor is a mere shadow trying to control the puppets by her movements.

Reverse Shadow Theatre is created with the Animata real-time animation editor. Animata is developed by Peter Nemeth, Gabor Papp and Bence Samu whose peculiarity consists in giving movement to figures and backgrounds in real-time: Code Dreams are Made of This. If you want to try playing around with the software yourself, the Animata software can be downloaded for free.

This is a 2 years old video. I already looking around, find one post in Kaskus too, but can’t find out their history, why use wayang (EyesWeb got real-time puppet animation too), or maybe one of the team studied in Indonesia once. And I found their lab, Kitchen Budapest, is interesting, they have many great project.
