My Dear Readers, It’s been an exiting run, and I’ve learned an abundance of marketing and content creation lessons. It seems, however, that The Marketer Review can’t fulfill me anymore. It’s time for me to move on, as I’m busy looking for things that are way out of the jurisdiction of the business realm. . . Some of you may have noticed.

...It’s time for me to focus on my passion and put the marketing to use there. For those of you who are thinking I quit because of lack of success, I want to assure you, The Marketer Review has exceeded all my expectations. The one expectation left neglected and dissatisfied was my spiritual needs. Remember that marketing is only a tool to make your dreams come true and to keep your passions burning- that’s the most profound lesson I’ve learned.

Talking too much business has made me straight, and I just don’t bend that way.

...Thank you for reading, commenting and participating in this part of my life’s journey. It’s been a valuable experience to me, on many levels. I’ll leave the blog as is, for the benefit of anyone who wants to learn from this accumilated body of knowledge.

All the success in the world to you,

...My other passion, The Pinup Blog, is doing tremendeously well, come for a visit and see where I focus all my marketing energy!

One of my top problems is that I love to create. ... It gets even more time consuming when you enjoy it, which I do. Hopefully, this will be the most of my troubles.

...Do I make money off of all that I create? I’ll be completely honest; I rarely measure time put into a product vs. ... In the long term, however, I think I’ll have a good line of quality products.

What does this have to do with Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind? ... Sure, many of us begin in the pursuit of riches, but end up either continuing or quitting all together, because we are (or aren’t) getting some kind of psychological satisfaction, out of it.

...He actually does this all through out Blog Mastermind, as well. And that was one of the most important lessons I’ve learned:

...:D ) Point is this: If you’re planning on making a quick buck then Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind just isn’t the program for you. Blogging, like any other business takes time and patience and yes, some hard initial work. (How you automate later is actually a different business model all together and Starak does, in fact, touch on that, pretty early on.)

...Twenty-seven lessons in 27 weeks, that’s about 7-9 months and the price isn’t completely insignificant. ... ) why I bought into this program and was willing to invest much more in it than I would have in any other product.

...The lessons will be sent straight to your email in both audio and written form. There are tons of additional resources, like interviews with other top bloggers and marketers, including Darren Rowse from Problogger, Brian Clark from Copyblogger, Andy Wibbels and others. Also on the audio list are interviews of Starak himself, by other Bloggers, which is surprisingly just as poignant. A lot more where that came from, like video case studies and the forum.

...In my personal opinion, the blogging business model needs much cultivation over time. In about seven months time, if you do everything right, you’ll finally see some substantial traffic and maybe even some profits. If you expect to be making a full time income, you’re highly optimistic. However, with Starak’s guidance, you will be closer to that goal than without him. The real beauty of it is that if you’ve just started, Blog Mastermind is a real step-by-step guide, and within 7 months you will have time to really absorb all these lessons.

Yaro Starak as a Teacher Here’s the thing: There are many products out there, and the creator’s main idea is to teach. ... It usually creates a gap in the student’s knowledge, and since this material is to be implemented and its results tested, a feeling of dissatisfaction may arise. Starak is a natural-born teacher, explaining tough concepts, as cleanly as possible, understanding that cutting them up into little bits is very effective. In fact, this serving-one-bite-at-a-time method is a signature Starak teaching method.

Starak’s shines in his audios; Sometimes speaking freely, and sometimes literally reading off a page, he is always to the point. When he speaks freely, he will affectingly share a personal anecdote, thought and even a fear. Some tend to ramble on, but Starak really touches on personal issues that all bloggers go through.

...Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind Program will equipped you with all the tools you need to make money blogging. The program support system is excellent and is intended to keep you satisfied for the long term. If you remember that the learning process won’t make you money, but its steadfast implementation will, then I have no doubt you’ll make money with Blog Mastermind.

Starak does create a great affiliate opportunity with his affiliate program. It’s a recursive income program, which in point of fact, allows you to implement one of his most important lessons: Affiliate yourself with good products that will create a long term income.

... Great teacher, to the point lessons at the right pace, worth every penny and then some.

The cannon ball on the cover, the attractive, whimsical title, the readable style, the bullet points and subtitles and faux self-quizzes. Everything is made so you won’t suffer the reading experience. For me, all this noise was a bit of a turn off (yes I’m a snobby intellectual ;) ), and it took me a couple chapters to get comfortable.

It was when I warmed up to Kawasaki’s marketed-writing style (god, I miss literature!) that I had realized how serious he was. It’s not about driving your competition crazy at all. It almost has nothing to do with your competition. It’s really all about you and your business.

Guy Kawasaki’s Bag of Tricks Basically, that’s what you get when reading How to Drive Your Competition Crazy. A long, yet well-organized list of anecdotes from the marketing world. Most of the stories in the book, aren’t Kawasaki’s personal story. In fact, most of the stories that do have something to do with him, actually tell of his failures! The book is really based on stories.

The how to instructions are only the titles of chapters and their subtitles. “Creating Advantages”, “Know Thy Enemy”, “How to Choose an Enemy” etc. All that is well and good, but how do you do it? Rather than trying to explain all these abstract concepts, Kawasaki opts to give examples, or rather- tell stories. I suppose some are told in a more mythical than a realistic manner, but all are based on truth and that’s what inspires to act upon them.

Stick the Commando Knife in Yer Teeth, ‘Cause We’re Going Guerilla! What’s all this story telling about? The stories are mostly David and Guliath stories (just to get those mythical juices flowing). All about small businesses that found a way to outsmart bigger companies, and to alchemically create advantages out of fatal situations. ... But beyond myths and spiritual inspiration, Kawasaki wants you to use your noggin and get creative. ... (hint: making a smaller brochure than your competitors.) ... (hint: it’s as easy as giving them ice-cream.) ... It’s all very original and Kawasaki was thought to be a little on the wacky side, when he first published How to Drive Your Competition Crazy.

The Kawasaki Ruthlessness I happen to think that a lot of business writers are sinning against us- the business reader. They are nice people, basically, and they paint a nice picture of business, as well. All though Kawasaki is within the group of nice guys, he manages somehow, to paint the picture of the ruthlessness sometimes needed in business. ... We may all be polite and good people, but business is business, and if your success means another man’s failure- so be it. It’s no wonder business strategies are so akin to war strategies and terms like “killer copy” and “crushing the competition” come up all over the place.

That said, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy is not really about crushing the competition, but about improving your business. When push comes to shove, Kawasaki’s repeating mantra is to satisfy your clients and that will surly drive your competitors crazy.

...Guy Kawasaki is a fun marketing genus with a flaming slingshot in his back pocket.

The initials stand for Technology, Entertainment and Design. I said, I go to ted to rest, because the site is a collection of 20-minute (usually) videos- the best talks of TED conferences. There are 200 videos to date, so there’s a lot to see. I’d recommend watching these people, just to see what a good public speaker does, but there’s more to it.

Why do you want to watch the TED videos? AT the TED conferences the speakers are the most acclaimed minds of today. These are the unique thinkers of our time, giving you the gist of their theories. There are many categories that may interest you, and I encourage you to explore to your heart's content, but my focus is in the business category, Not Business as Usual. Where you’ll find Seth Godin talking about purple cows, Sergey Brin and Larry Page giving you a sneak peak into Google’s future plans (2004), or Malcolm Gladwell explaining why talking to your customers matters (as seen below).

Now, wasn’t that a great way to spend 17 minutes and 48 seconds? :)

The Importance of the Bird's Eye View I talk a lot about the importance of the bird's eye view, in business. This is a way of thinking you must exercise, in order to successfully run a business. When I say "exercise", I don't just mean you have to utilizes this type of thinking, I mean you have to do it again and again and again. Practice, in this case, will not make you perfect, but it will make you better. Getting better at employing the bird's eye view, means constant mental growth and an openness towards new ideas. TED is a great place to start absorbing more radical points of view, different from your own.

Enough said. ;)

Even though it’s last years news, I thought it to be extraordinarily insightful, and as such, I sent it all across the web, in all the social networks, I’m registered at (note I said it was extraordinarily insightful, not just insightful, in which case, I just wouldn’t have bothered).

Reading the Financial Papers I read a bit of the financial papers, here and there, but I’m an internet consumer, mostly (so unless those ebook reader companies don’t find a way to provide me with my RSS for free, they’ve lost me :P ). I’m always on the prowl for something profound and helpful, but most online (or offline) journals, stay in the shallow end, to cater to the lowest common denominator. Don’t get me wrong, they are helpful, but I want the profound, too. I never studied economics, but you can learn from reading these papers.

The article, I read, was so extraordinary, that I decided I wanted to explore it’s origins. The author, mysteriously named Knowledge@Wharton, led me to believe there’s more to this than I expected. Some of you may already know this, but I didn’t, so for all of you, like me, here is the lowdown: Apparently, Knowledge@Wharton (new on the hotlist) is the Wharton School University of Pennsylvania's business journal. It’s free, but you have to sign in, to read. They also have a YouTube Channel!

What Can Wharton Do for You? Apart from being profound and helpful, Knowledge@Wharton also has a nice amount of articles about online business trends (the sidebar adapts in relevance). A lot of online entrepreneurs can go by without reading this type of journalism, but you miss the bird’s-eye-view, doing so. If you’re running a business, it seems to me, you should know more than the latest SEO trick. Frankly, you should be asking yourself, what’s your interest in the business, if the online business trend headlines don’t grab you?

The articles at Knowledge@Wharton are researched academically, giving an interesting twist on common themes. Wharton professors are interviewed in correlation to the article, as well as outside experts, giving a well rounded view of the subject at hand. Business is a profound art/science and Knowledge@Wharton makes that clear.

Aside from the regular article categories (Financial investment, Leadership and Change, Executive education, etc.) , Wharton also has a few more sections, to enrich it. The Special Section, which is full of yearly articles, that all have to do with the same theme. The Podcast Section archives their best podcasts (all articles are available as a downloadable podcast, as well). And a book review section, reviewing big sellers.

Knowledge@Wharton is my new financial online source of choice, for its sheer professionalism. Add it to your email or RSS, for your daily dose of in-depth business.

In time I will review all these books. As they aren’t my usual free content, I decided to separate them into a different category. You can find all my none-ebook reviews in the Tali’s Bookshelf category, on the sidebar, under "Browse MR".

...In order to get access to Joyner’s Mind Control Marketing, you will have to register at Simpleology. It is free (+ I rated the Simpleology 101 course with 5 stars, and on a personal note: I use the Simpleology Daily Target Praxis, every day), the book is not. It costs $27 and to my happy bewilderment, it added another Joyner book to my growing stack. For no additional cost, I downloaded The Irresistible Offer<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir? t=marketerreview-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !... So my shopping experience was one of many satisfactions (a lesson for all of us selling something ;) ), but let’s move an to substance.

What Can We Learn About Marketing, from Psychology, Sociology, Physics, Military Tactics, Sports Plays and Politics? You’d be surprised, but a whole lot. Joyner learns his marketing lessons from all walks of life. Mind Control Marketing is an eclectic compilation of marketing sources. Joyner’s great message, in the book, is to always be aware. You can apply your lessons from anywhere.

Psychology teaches us that all human beings have a specific list of needs that are always strived to be met- those are needs you can appeal to. Sociology teaches us that we, homosepians, are very easily influenced by groups and that we aim to conform- is your product the thing that everybody’s buying? ... The military has come to some fascinating conclusions, through the years, about improving productivity, out-thinking the enemy and- the ever-surprising- art of being seen.

Mark Joyner - The Storyteller What is most visible about Mind Control Marketing is the storytelling aspect of it. Joyner Hardly joins the ranks of literary greats (I assume he isn’t trying to- big words, as we all know, don’t sell). Mind Control Marketing reminds me of a book I had as a child- a collection of Aesop’s fables. Only in this case, the fables are geared towards marketing and less towards life. Joyner collects case studies, personal stories, experiments and historical facts, retells them, in his simple Joyner style, and sums up a moral, that you can learn from.

The Missing Chapter With the download files, you will also receive “The missing chapter”. A 2008 addition to Mind Control Marketing. This chapter zeroes in on methods of “brainwashing”, which, as Joyner states:

… are simply the same methodologies that we use to brainwash our children in school, the method that governments use to brainwash populations, and the methods that self-help fads use to brainwash their followers. Joyner addresses the differences between cult brainwashing and social adaptation (using bold examples, such as Heroin and Pedophilia- Go Mark!! ... And goes an to list the conclusions that identify mind control.

I found it an interesting activity to compare Joyner’s Simpleology tactics with cult tactics.

...Mark Joyner always leaves me with this “no duh!” ... I’m not sure if he explains really well, by breaking the material down into bite-sized nibblettes, or that he takes complex marketing concepts and oversimplifies them in order to mass market to the lowest common denominator. My one real gripe with Mind Control Marketing is that Joyner tells you what to do, but not how to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting a step-by-step list to cater to every type of business model out there! I’m just thinking of the times, while reading Mind Control Marketing, I laid in my bed screaming “give me an example!”

... Mind Control Marketing is a fascinating read that will expand your mind, but far from a must-have, for active marketers and business owners.

Michael Port has a holistic approach towards business, and so many factors figure in. If you speed-read this one, you may find yourself confused. ... He’s about finding satisfaction in life, making money from what you love to do, and leveraging what you got, to give you time to do more of what you love.

...If we were to best categorize Beyond Booked Solid, we’d find it in the Business-Person-Self-Help section with the likes of Timothy Ferriss and Seth Godin<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir? t=marketerreview-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !

...Port also dishes out exercises, action templates and actual business building blocks, to further allow you to understand your own business.

...He advocates systems every step of Beyond Booked Solid, but stresses the impossibility of working systems without people. That may sound like an obvious fact, but what port is really talking about is systems that make your team’s and your own lives easy. ... They aren’t put in place to control your team, but for your team to have complete control over heir work.

...To Port, delegation means dropping your responsibilities on someone else, and forgetting about them. This means, you have no clue what goes on, in that department of your business, and as a result, you can’t refine it’s system. Of course, this depends on the size of your business and your desired level of involvement, but Beyond Booked Solid is aimed at the small business owner.

...Quite similarly to The Cluetrain Manifesto, the word “conversation” comes up many times, and so do its principles, of concentrating on human interaction, in order to achieve success. Port goes so far as to demonstrate systems of communication, encouraging the asking of questions and creating a dialogue between you and your team, and your team with each other, in order to get the maximum from everybody’s talents, without sucking them dry.

But I Don’t Have a Team!

...I don’t have a team, yet, either, but there are preparations to be made, for that point when I’m booked solid and want to go beyond. Until then, Beyond Booked Solid has a few nifty exercises to get you in check.

For those of you who are on the threshold of hiring- You need this book! Not only does Beyond Booked Solid have a chapter dedicated to hiring, but it outlines a general approach and philosophy, if you will, of leadership. You may find this idea a little dramatic, when hiring a coder, or a secretary, but I could tell you horror stories that were a direct result of poor leadership. The animation team that never met, even though they were siting in the same room! ... The idiot project director who said “Don’t ask each other questions- you’re disturbing each other’s work.

...You can not afford to make these mistakes in any size business, let alone a small one.

Do I need to read Book Yourself Solid, in order to read Beyond Booked Solid? It’s true that Beyond Booked Solid is a direct continuation of Book Yourself Solid (Port's first book), but you don’t have to read one to understand the other. You don’t even have to actually be booked solid! I do, however, strongly advise on already having a business for at least half a year. Having that bit of experience, even if it has yet to be fruitful, will give you a deeper understanding of what Port is talking about. To someone who has yet to start a business, Port’s pro-speak (even though meticulously simplified) may be intimidating and thus daunting.

Yaro Starak’s How to Start an Internet Business - Patience is a Virtue Next >>

I'm sure, by now, most of you have heard of Blog Carnivals. Some of you may have even discovered The Marketer Review through a Carnival. Well, I'm happy to announce I'm starting a carnival of my own: The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival!

What's a Blog Carnival? I'm very well aware that some of you are just starting out your blogging experience, and may not know what a Blog Carnival is. I think it's important you get to know it, as it's a great internet marketing tool.

A Blog Carnival is simply a blog post, that issues a list of links to different articles, from different blogs, all surrounding the same theme. The post could be as elaborate as this, or as simple as this. A typical carnival looks like this, divided into sub categories and quotes the article submitter, stating the blogger's name, the blog's title and the specific article's title.

Why is a Blog Carnival Such a "Great Internet Marketing Tool"? For a blogger, there are a couple of advantages to submitting an article to a Blog Carnival: You get a free link to your blog. If you submit every week, to a few Carnivals, the links start accumulating substantially. Not only do you get a nice addition to your traffic, but you also have something to show for, when the Google Page Rank and Technorati Authority spiders come crawling. And because Blog Carnivals are themed, you're getting highly targeted traffic, who are specifically interested in your niche.

For a carnival host, such as myself, the main advantage is creating more original content and being able to provide useful material to my readers.

The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival I'm very excited to announce my first attempt at organizing a carnival, The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival. I have ambitions to make this a weekly carnival, presenting a myriad of reviews, tips, tricks and advise, from my fellow bloggers, each Sunday.

If you want to submit an article to The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival these are the guidelines:

	•	The articles must be in the niche of internet marketing and professional blogging. You've read this blog, you know what it's all about ;)

	•	Articles should fit the following categories:

Product Review

Blog Review

Book Review

Advise

	•	No duplicate content - if I've published your article before, please don't resubmit the same article!

	•	No Spam - May god protect you from my wrath, if you ever dare submit a hypey sales page, instead of a well thought out article. The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival is here to promote your blog, not your affiliate links.

...If you're interested in submitting your articles to The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival, just click here and fill out the short application form.

Hope to see you there, at the first edition of The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival, on the 4th of May!

I find his subtle reviling of questions, frustrations and doubts he had, as a beginner, match my own. And to be honest, it’s indispensable to someone who works alone, from home. Most of us have no one to consult with, as we are the only ones we know, who dares to do what we do. Having Starak just tell you what he went through is a huge comfort.

Patience - Master Yaro’s Unteachable Virtue The Taoist masters must have been very frustrated with their impatient young grasshoppers, trying to teach them what the young and inexperienced are inherently incapable of: Patience.

How to Start an Internet Business is mainly about patience. What I love about Starak’s education is the simple, hypeless facts. … You can’t put a website up and have thousands of people visiting your site immediately, if you have limited advertising funs and no contacts. But Starak doesn't leave it at that. He continues on to explain how to deal with your impatience. Creating an activity for you to implement, at the end of every chapter.

...At this point in my blogging career, I’ve reached many of my initial goals. ... In Starak’s own words: The only constant in business and life is change. Since change is the natural entrepreneurial state, you’d think that you’d never get bored. The truth of the matter is that most changes are smaller than others, and your actions take time to get reactions.

...Starak talks about the trap of starting a new business, while working on another. Most of us make that mistake, out of sheer innocence. We get so pumped up with energy, from the excitement about the new project at hand, we spread ourselves thin, to keep our selves busy. As a result, we fail to think of the obvious consequences: We’re knee deep in work!

Beyond Understanding Even though Starak covers many more issues in How to Start an Internet Business (such as virality, efficiency, networking and education), Patience is the one subject he keeps returning to. The reason I’m focusing on patience, in this post, is because it seems to be one of those unteachable mindsets.

Remember when you were a kid, and you’d smell dinner cooking, and in that instant you’d get hungry. You’d pester your mom (or dad ;) ), and they’d tell you to be patient. Remember how tormenting, the time between the moment you caught a whiff of the food on the stove, and the moment you could finally dig in, was? The fact that mom told you to be patient and that you understood you had to be patient, isn’t enough. You had to practice patience, in order to achieve patience.

The Trouble with Patience Notice how today it may still be tormenting, but you can handle it. You know the waiting will end at some point. This is because you’ve been practicing patience for so long. The trouble with patience is that you have to re-practice it in many different facets of your life. It’s so unnatural that we have to practice it in specific situations, to master it! You may be great in waiting in line at the grocery store, but you pop a fuse, every time you need to call the electrical company to sort out a bill.

In order to strengthen myself, I read mindset and inspirational material. These books give you guidelines to strengthening yourself and your business. I read many, in order to get an all encompassing, bird’s-eye-view of the situation.

Yaro Starak’s How to Start an Internet Business is one of these mindset books. ... Patience, in business and in life, is indeed a virtue.

From “What is a blog?”... and “How to make money blogging?” The information is focused and simplified, and chopped up into 15 swallowable pieces. The question remains: Is it enough? Will this very condensed information be all you need to have a successful blog?

The Trouble with Mindsets Ever since I started blogging, I’ve been nagging all my freelance friends to get a blog, or an online presence, at the very least. With some of them, I’ve even sat to help set up a blog. Some of you contact me via email and ask for advise. One thing is certain, in all these cases: I could set up their blog for them, do all the technical gritty work (not even if they payed me ;) ), but I can’t explain mindset from one day to the next.

Let me clear that up. I could explain the mindsets needed for business, for online business, for blogging, for writing, for creating content, for the social marketing involved… All this needs to be explained and can be explained quite simply, in about 5 minutes a day of Simpleology Blogging. But in order for you to really soak in the mindsets, and naturally act upon them (or not- you may decide you don’t agree), you must experience them.

In the defense of the Simpleology courses, they thrive on repetition. You complete the course and do it again. Instead of a 15-day experience, you get a 30-day experience. Possibly enough time to get a blog up and running and even follow the suggestions, the Simpleology Blogging course makes. Even in that 30-day period, however, I doubt you’ll have enough time to really let the mindsets sink in.

The Problem with Concision I thought Simpleology 101 was genius. Not only the content, but the method and the love-match between them. I think in the case of Simpleology Blogging, Joyner mismatched or at least miss-timed. Blogging is a very varied and very specific subject. You can strip it of complication and give the kind of check-list style course, as Joyner did, but you’ll only be getting part of the information, you really need.

Simpleology 101 was a time-management life-hack that could be applied to almost any aspect of your life (maybe all, I’ve yet to check ;) ). Blogging just can’t be reapplied. I know this, because every time I try to talk about it, with someone who doesn’t do it, the glazed look on their face tells me so.

...If he started talking in medical tongues, I’d probably not comprehend any of it. When daddy dearest does speak with me about he’s work, he uses layman’s terms. Sure I understand the situation, but I hardly think that qualifies me to put people to sleep.

Point is this: You can’t talk about blogging without getting into the nitty-gritty buzz words professional terminology, such as content, authority, Adsense, social marketing, Digg… And all the rest.

Simpleology Blogging is not enough for a beginner, but may be enough to get you started on your right path. It’s a great product, but if you want something to cover all the angles, for your money’s worth, I’d wait out for something else. If Joyner's free offer still stands, I highly recommend it.

There are many good reasons to have your own domain.

...A lot of top bloggers say you should start by getting your own domain.

...	•	You own it, so you can do as you like with it (be offensive as you like, as spammy as you wish etc.)

...You can sell it to an interested party, you can build an amazing blog then sell it for a lot more profit.

...Here’s a personal story of why you might want to buy the domain, right at the start:

A couple of months ago | was emailed by a stranger, telling me he just happens to own the domain http://themarketerreview.com. Now, I pride myself on my nose for scams, and this one wreaked like a wet dog. ... As I suspected, it only leads to an error page (go ahead, click it, see for yourself ;) ). You know the kind- those that show up when a URL doesn’t exist.

...	1	The guy (or gal ;) ) goes around free blogging platforms, assesses if the blogger is serious enough to want to go pro, buys the domain for $14 and sells it to the poor unsuspecting blogger for $200 (that was the offer I got).

2	Easier still: The guy goes around just emailing every free blogging blogger he can find, makes an offer, and when the poor sucker says “yes”, he goes and buys it for $14 and sells it to you for $200.

...All that said, I happen to believe that if you’re a beginner blogger, you should probably give it a try before you commit to it. Frankly, I never believed I could churn out so much original content (quite proud of myself, really :D ) I only decided to commit about half a year after I began. After that if you want to invest in your blog, chances are your desired domain isn’t taken. If it is, you could most likely find a variation on it.

...* I’m an immediate person, and I can’t stand waiting the half a minute to 40 seconds it takes an online blogging platform to save my changes.

...The most important reason to work offline is that you can add things to the site and test to see how they look, without going live. ... Not to mention that while you’re testing things you have to reload the page again and again and again...

...It’s not accessible from the web, ergo you can’t access your blog editor from any computer, anywhere. So if you intend to travel, make sure your blog is making you enough money, to buy a laptop.

...Well I’ve used both Blogger and Wordpress, and I think it’s time to finally share my thoughts on this:

...It is unreliable, dirties the code, has unrealistic tagging restrictions and doesn’t allow pages. (The integration of Google ads is a huge plus, but it’s just not worth it.)

...No hassles, no dirty code, no tagging restrictions and you can add as many pages as you like. The really great thing about Wordpress is it’s community. Just like Firefox (if you’re still using IE, you’re missing out on an amazing browsing experience), Wordpress has a developing system that allows any one, who knows how to develop plugins. The abundance can be overwhelming, but lets just say that is the kind of problems you want to have. ;) Blogger has a traffic advantage over all other platforms, because it is owned by Google, thus optimized by Google.

...Free Wordpress Users: Know This There will be no Adsense, as the free version allows no script (think of all the other cool things that won’t work!

...About a month ago I logged into my Wordpress account (as I do every morning), and was attacked by a big, red, flashing rectangle, telling me I’ve violated the terms of my agreement and that I must email Wordpress immediately, lest I be shut down. This was, to say the least, very disconcerting, so I immediately emailed them, inquiring as to my sins.

* Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (”Make six figures from home!!”

...One affiliate link in a blog is allowed, no more.

...- I went off to disable all my affiliate links, secretly smiling to myself, knowing I will soon have my own blog and have as many affiliate links as I want!

...And so, to bring this grand opening to a close: Having your own domain gives you freedom. You don’t have to rely on free templates, thus letting your personality shine through design.

...On the down side, I now have to rebuild my traffic and RSS, as both the domain and feed address are different.

...Although it’s geared mainly towards e-commerce sites, there’s a warm and active community improving it and adding plugins, all the time.

These two skits are actually talking about the same things and are even using the same methods. It’s just that what used to work in 1965, doesn’t really work now. Frankly, I prefer the straight forward, no bullshit manner of Nightingale’s (even if I’m not particularly fond of his authoritative voice :P ). What mainly bothers me about The Secret is their attempt to mystify what Nightingale attempts to simplify.

The Redundancy of Lifehacks If you’ve already checked out Mark Joyner’s Simpleology, for example, you’ve probably already noticed similarities to Nightingale’s broadcast. In all the example cases, the biggest secret to success, is knowing what you want and going after it. In the end, no matter what form it’s presented in it’s all about persistence. I gained something from Nightingale, calling persistence “faith”. This one change of phrase embodies the importants of many sources of inspiration. If you only have one mantra, you may loose your way, following it religiously. Yet, when you accumulate many different points of view, they balance each other.

Every once in a while I mention mindset, but seldom do I focus on it. The Strangest Secret is an amazing piece of positive business (and life) mindset.

The new Authority Black book is looking spiffy and professional.

...Second, a very important lesson was learned, from the first book, about mindset. Authority Black Book is much like a technician’s pamphlet. It’s written almost like a grocery shopping list. The original Black Book said very little about mindsets and the things that were said may be axioms
