I’ve been a “fan” of Ameer Salim for some time. He’s taken over where Louis Allport left off.. producing a stream of high quality “how to” videos.

Like Louis used to do, Ameer distributes his videos through a couple of membership sites, one of which gives Private Label Rights to the videos. He also provides a number of different ways for Members to sell the videos.

And Ameer has been very successful. So I was baffled when I saw what he’s done now.

He’s bundled his most successful products into two huge packages, with two price levels - and he’s charging the same monthly fee for these bundles that he charges for just one individual component in a bundle.

One tool currently in the Google Labs that I like is “Fast Flip”. Basically, it’s a was of presenting news articles in a graphic form that you can rapidly flip through. There’s no need for each news site to load. Just browse rapidly through the screenshots of the pages until you see one which interests you. It’s a bit like an online microfiche reader.

When you see an article you like, you can go straight to it. And you can also email the story to people, or share it with the social bookmarking sites.

With the search engines spreading their corporate wings over more and more business areas, it’s difficult to keep up with what’s happening in this gigantic industry.

And, because these mega-companies are touching increasing parts of our lives, it’s important to keep up to date.

I’ve found one web magazine which does just that: it’s “Search Engine Land”. I’m impressed by the presentation, the quality of the content - and the wide span of contributors.

It came as no surprise to me than the leading light behind “Search Engine Land” is none other than Danny Sullivan. For years, he’s been one of the leading search engine journalists. He’s backed by a 6-strong editorial staff, and the site lists details of over a hundred contributing authors. Very impressive - and well worth checking out regularly. I’m adding it to the list of sites which opens automatically whenever I open my “Chrome” web browser. Here’s the site:

Here’s a really neat site - and it’s a freebie. Here’s what you can do with videos:

• Upload an number of video files
• Upload music files and add them as background music
• Select from a whole range of transitions to fade between different videos

Remember the infamous “Google Slap” a while back? Overnight thousands of websites lost good search engine placings when the search engine giant changed the way that it indexed and ranked websites.

Well, there could be another “slap” coming soon because Google is again experimenting with a new system. It’s being called “Google Caffeine”.

Currently I know little about this big change except what I have read. It seems that:

1. The new algorithm will produce search results faster
2. It places a greater emphasis on keyword strings, rather than single keywords
3. It’s able to index current and breaking news faster

I found that when I searched for “Ian Traynor” on the current system, my “www.IanTraynor.com” came out at position #5. With the new Caffeine system, it came out at position #3. My “Ian_Traynor Twitter account was #11 on the current system and #7 on the new system. Not big differences, but differences all the same.

What does all this mean for us, trying to get good listings? Quite frankly, I don’t know yet. But it does make me think that I should start to try to be less reliant on Google for getting visitors to my websites. What do you think?

There’s very little advertising in the manual.. just a few plugs for Alex’s own PLR club (more expensive than mine!!), and the manual is well laid out, with plenty of screenshots. You also get access to a load of training videos and a special resources page.

One topic which is, in my opinion, not adequately covered is editing the PLR document to personalise it and make it your unique product. She assumes that people have MS Word (no mention of “Open Office”, the f’ree alternative), and she doesn’t touch on the importance of changing the product’s name to make it completely unique.

But, as I said, I am very impressed with this training manual. I was so impressed, in fact, that I twisted Alex’s arm to give a special price just for you, {FIRTNAME} and my other “Update” subscribers. So Alex has set up this special page:

Amongst the pile of new stuff which was released whilst I was away, these videos caught my eye. I’ve got to admit that it was the striking graphics which first attracted my attention!

But, when I watched the 11 videos in the package (about an hour of viewing), I realised that this was a great find.

A lot has been written about the importance of selecting the right keywords and using them correctly to promote your websites. And there’s been some great, but expensive software produced to speed up the process of finding, analysing and using keywords (such as “Keyword Elite”).

But not much has been produced for “newbies”, and this is where the Traffic Armour Keywords videos come into their own. You can read more about these videos here:
