Yes, it’s the summer time! So, what better gadget to get in the summer than the Solar Clock! I’m sure that fancy clock/watch you have is nice and all, but does it have a solar panel? Yeah, I didn’t think so. What happens when your watch’s battery runs out? How much does it cost to replace the battery? What happens during a power outage? Do you like having to reset the time? With the Solar Clock, no more worries! As long as you have sunshine, you can tell the time…assuming you can read a clock without tick marks.

The Solar Clock is eco-friendly and has a minimalistic design that (sorta) gives it an elegant look. It will pretty much fit in any decor (from your big fancy office to your small-ass dorm). It’s even wall-mountable. The clock is equipped with a rechargeable battery, which is recharged by the solar panel during the day to provide power during the night. For £24.99 (approx. $40 USD) the Solar Clock could be yours via Gadgetshop. Sure it’s expensive, but think how green you’ll be…right?!

But that all won’t matter, since you’re broke. You probably won’t be able to afford the Loaded! Wallet.

But, if you happen to have (or beg for) $19.99 USD, you can pick one up at Amazon. The Loaded! Wallet features a satin lining to hold your “real” money and credit cards. The outside is printed to look like the real $100 bill — in full color! Just don’t ruin the illusion by opening the wallet in front of them or encountering a situation where you’ll have to pay for something.

If you like the Loaded! Wallet, check out the Dinero Tri-fold Tyvek Wallet. It’s not as flashy, but it still got the same “money” theme.

What happens when you take three Japanese kids and trick them into thinking a zombie is about to eat them? Well, the kids will kick its ass! The setup: a Japanese TV show hired an actor to play as the zombie. To add to the realism, they also got the the entire neighborhood onto the prank by having them run down the street yelling “Zombie!”. Hilarity then ensues. Watch the kids mount their offensive after the jump.

The Motoman SDA10 (aka the Okonomiyaki Robot), created by Osaka-based robot makers Toyo Riki Company, is capable of receiving verbal orders to make traditional Japanese flour-based pancakes, called Okonomiyaki. Showcased at the International Food Machinery and Technology Exhibition in Tokyo, the robot measures 4.5 feet tall and weighs about 480 pounds. The Motoman SDA10 sports 15 motorized joints giving its two arms/hands the dexterity it needs to pour the batter onto a grill and flip the pancakes with a spatula. Watch the videos to see the Motoman in action.

Not feeling secure with that deadbolt lock on your front door? Check out the Numlock Handle. Designed by Jaeseok Han, the Numlock Handle features a number-combination lock that prevents “unauthorized” access to a room (or building). The door handle does not turn unless the correct four-number combination is entered. Good luck opening the door in an emergency.

Secure? Probably not (brute force, anyone?). But, the coolest feature of the Numlock Handle is its ability to automatically lock itself by shuffling the numbers after each successful door entry. Plus, you can easily change the combination and even replace (or supplement) the numbers for braille. So, what happens when you forget the combination? No idea. Hopefully, if the Numlock Handle ever enters into production, there will be a master key to unlock the handle in emergency situations .

Just make sure no one is looking over your shoulders as you enter the combination.

Don’t you just hate it when you leave your flash drive with sensitive data at your friend’s house? Do you wish your flash drive had a ’self-erase’ mode? No worries. Fujitsu has developed the Secure USB Memory Drive that works just like any ordinary flash drive, but this one will automatically erase itself after a preset amount of time. The Secure USB Memory Drive also has a feature called, “File Redirect”, which can block access to the file contents (or erase itself) if it is connected to an unauthorized computer.

The Fujitsu Secure USB Memory Drive is equipped with a processor and its own battery. More detailed explanation of the drive’s features is as follows:

Secure USB memory device prototype

The new and unique USB memory device prototype contains a processor and battery. After a fixed period of time, if the USB memory device is plugged into an unauthorized PC, the data can automatically be erased or the USB memory device can be rendered unusable. For example, the USB memory device can be set up with a policy whereby the data will be automatically deleted after 24 hours, or it will be deleted if the USB memory is plugged into an unregistered computer even once. By storing and carrying data on a USB memory device that allows for this type of security setting, in the event that the USB memory device is lost, the data stored on it will be automatically deleted and thus enable strict security.

File redirect technology

Together with the self-erasing USB memory device, installing the file redirect software on a PC can be used to restrict the copying of data from the USB memory device, forcing it to reside only on the USB memory itself and a specific company server. This can also be used to prohibit confidential data from being sent as an e-mail attachment or from being printed. Since confidential data is prohibited from being written to the hard disk drive of the PC, it prevents data from being stored on PCs or USB memories and later transferred to file-sharing networks, whether by accident or intentionally.

The Secure USB Memory Drive is still only a prototype. Fujitsu expects to have a commercial version to be available soon after development testing is complete.

Designed by Duck Young Kong (awesome name!), the Lunar Baby Thermometer concept eliminates the need for you to stick a thermometer in your child’s arm pit, mouth, or ass to get a temperature reading when the kid is sick. Instead, the Lunar Baby Thermometer is specially designed to fit between your index and middle finger and allows you to easily take a child’s temperature by simply touching it against the forehead.

Touching a child’s forehead to check whether or not the child is sick is a natural thing to do. Mothers do it all the time; hence, Duck Young Kong’s inspiration for the Lunar Baby Thermometer concept. The concept specifies that the thermometer will sport a LED screen to output the temperature reading and a flashing LED to signal that the temperature scan is complete.

Gaillard’s version is certainly in a different league then the “lame” college Pac-Man pranks of running through a class or library. Of course, Gaillard’s pranks always involves potentially pissing off the public — which can be funny, depending on how you look at it. He did deserve the golf club to the back of the thigh. You don’t mess with the golfers! Though, I feel really bad for the innocent Strawberry.
