Both the great director Akira Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune are some of the influences I have carried into my art. I first saw movies from this dynamic duo back in 1987 while taking an appreciation to movies course in high school. I viewed Yojimo and Seven Samurai (during school!) and was mesmerized. Later in college I took Japanese Art History and have carried that subject right through to today.

The Pirate Hunter: The True Story of Captain Kidd by Richard Zacks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mr. Zacks wrote this so well, I felt like I was there. The historical research he did on this was spot on! I could smell the smells of the wretched streets in old England. I could not put this book down and you won't be able to either!
