Rose reminded me of ‘Kiss from a rose’ song by Seal which reminded me of this highly popular thread on Rangefinderforum. A guy claims to own one of the first Leica M8 and on top of that claims to be the artist known as Seal. Rangefinder nerds seem to be less interested in the fact that he’s married to a super model and instead want him to reveal the serial number of his new camera.

Couple of days ago TV program was interrupted by nationwide emergency broadcast because a bear had bitten a person somewhere in the middle of nowhere and about 400km from where I was receiving the message on TV. Emergency message advised people to stay inside. All things ended ‘well’ and the bear and its two cubs were shot down by one of the 50 hunters chasing them. To me the operation sounded overkill.

I hate the fact that the shutter sound of the D700 is so loud that it wakes up our baby even though she's not particularly easy to waken. It’s almost as loud as Kiev 60 which was engineered by drunken Soviets somewhere around 80’s and it has twice as big of a mirror. Manufactures pay far too little attention to shutter sounds. Most photographers probably couldn’t care less.

I did a little housekeeping on my blog and removed some of the worst rated pictures and many other crappy ones. A lot of them ware from the time I did picture-a-day. Some of the worst rated pictures I kept because I liked them and don't quite understand the poor rating. I still need to sort out the wacky layout of the ratings page.I decided that I will from now on delete one of the worst rated pictures for every new post. That way I will get rid of some of the crap and end up with better pictures and the total amount of pictures stays reasonable. I will do that as long as I feel necessary. Your vote is appreciated and it will make a difference.

I saw Santa Claus today. Unfortunately He was driving too fast to get a picture. I wonder who pays a guy to wear a Santa Claus outfit in the middle of the summer and what kind of guy agrees to it. I also saw a sharp looking man in a suit pee on the floor of a museum. Pee turned out to be water and the whole thing some sort of prank. It was strange for a while though.

They finally started to manufacture the camera I have been waiting for a long time. I’m still not sure I will buy it though. I think I will at least wait and see if they are going to make any other prime lenses for it or if I can find a used one.
