Emoji (絵文字) is the Japanese term for the picture characters or emoticons used in Japanese wireless messages and webpages. Originally meaning pictograph, the word literally means e "picture" + moji "letter". — Wikipedia

Aren’t these little emoticons simply adorable!? The good news is, that you can use them on your Mac and on your iPhone or iPod touch. You just have to activate them.

There Several Applications That Activate Emoji Icons

To activate Emoji icons, I installed Spell Number, a free utility that helps users write out numbers as in cheque writing protection and turns on Emoji icons.

There are several 99¢ Emoji enabler applications (link to App Store) in the App Store that enable Emoji icons on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Remember, Emoji only works from iPhone to iPhone.

Most of these applications simply enable Emoji icons, but there are some apps that offer a bit more functionality.

Typing Genius (link to App Store) is also a touch typing trainer.

XEmoji (link to App Store) gives you a description of each icon as well as the hex code.

Activating Emoji Icons On Your iPhone or iPod Touch

Once you have picked an application that turns on Emoji icons, follow these steps.

Use the application for a short while to start the process. (If you are using Spell Number, here is a link to the Easter Egg code, enter the code.) Exit the application.
Go to Settings > General > International > Keyboards > Japanese. Turn on Emoji.
To use the Emoji keyboard in Mail, SMS, Notes or any other application, tap on the World/Globe key next to the space bar on your iPhone or iPod Touch keyboard.
The Emoji keyboard has several tabs for the different categories of icons. Scroll sideways for more icons.

Finally, if you want to turn on Emoji icons for instant messaging in iChat, you can download Emoji for iChat by Einar Andersson & Tor Rauden Källstigen.

I decided to reinvent my digital life because I was feeling so overwhelmed and unenthusiastic about my work on my computer. I wanted to sharpen my focus, regain my inspiration and creativity, reignite my passion for technology, create a simple digital life and get rid of my energy drains.

I realised that the technologically-driven blurring of the lines between work and play leaves it up to me to set those boundaries myself, and to create a space for myself where I can enjoy my digital hobby activities without being reminded of work.

One of the things I did was to find a personal digital space, a digital landscape that was different from my working space. In my case it was an iPhone.

Several readers wrote to describe how they had created a separate digital canvas to stay focused, keep it simple and have fun. Or to create a barrier between work and playtime. These ideas are so smart, creative and liberating! Here’s a summary of reader’s solutions for how they’ve created a personal digital space.

Use two computers. One for work and one as a digital playground. Don’t install any work applications or let any work e-mails slip onto your digital playground computer!
Use a laptop and REALLY be mobile. Let different places give you different functions. Sit at your work desk, home office or go to a café for doing work, move to your couch for playtime and connecting online.
Create a separate break time area that you genuinely enjoy spending time in. It could be a coffee corner, game area, yoga space, a place for texting and chatting to friends, doing Tai Chi, workout, painting area, pen and paper on a desk, music and a comfy chair - anything that you like to do for a break. Alternate between your work area and your break area.
Mac users can use WriteRoom as a distraction free writing environment. WriteRoom lets you focus on writing, and when you’re done, you can re-enter your busy, distracting digital space.
Use a classic piece of hardware and a vintage or different operating system. One reader uses an eMate for distraction free writing. Another reader runs Mac OS 9 on a separate computer for fun and games, enjoying Illustrator 6 and Photoshop 4.0 and vintage games whilst working as a programmer on a separate computer running Mac OS X. Believe it or not, but I actually installed Windows Vista on my Mac to try out the MMO The Lord of the Rings Online. I was impressed by my Mac, and I certainly found myself undisturbed by mail and other distractions, but I was also reminded of how much I love to spend my time in Mac OSX!

Luminous Blue Folder Icons

A computer icon is a pictogram or symbol that is used on computer monitors as well as on cell phones and other devices. The icon can symbolise a file, folder, application or device. In fact, it can symbolise anything the user wants it to represent.

Icons are found on the desktop, in the toolbars of applications, on web sites. Software toolbars display icons such as “copy” and “paste” as icons that show the user how they can interact with the software. Icons are often used to help people navigate round web sites or to identify items such as tags and categories on blogs. Smiley icons represent moods in forums and chat programmes. Weather icons indicate the weather on news sites. The list is endless.

Icons can help make the computer experience user friendly, increasing usability, by helping the user to quickly identify what they seek or clearly show how an application or web site can be used or navigated. Users can customise their icons to increase the usability of their computer experience, making files and folders easier to find and to make their desktop personal.

Today, icons and wallpapers / desktop pictures are part of the desktop environment, the graphical user interface (GUI) of most modern personal computers. The desktop metaphor helps users to interact with the computer treating the display as a desktop that you can place documents on, folders that contain documents, there is drag and drop functionality and a trash can. In 1984, the original Macintosh was the first computer to abandon the use of a command line and popularise the graphical user interface that uses the desktop as a metaphor.

As the computer systems have evolved and become more refined, the operating systems have been able to display more polished computer icons with true transparency and larger sizes. In Apples current system Mac OS X Leopard the largest size is 512x512 pixels and Microsoft’s current system Vista can display icons up to 128x128 pixels. Both Mac OS X Leopard and Windows Vista use 16x16 pixels as the smallest size for icons. Often this is the size used for displaying items in listview.

Creating good icons is an art in itself comparable to the miniature paintings by old masters. The icon has to be original, distinctive, easy to understand and work in small sizes as well as different operating systems.

A wallpaper or desktop picture is the image that is used as a background on the desktop of a computer screen as well as on cell phones and other devices.

Desktop pictures or wallpapers are part of the desktop environment, the graphical user interface and is the most high profile item on your computer. Users can customize their desktop pictures quite easily to make their computers personal by changing the image used as the background of their desktop.

In Windows this type of image is referred to as a “wallpaper” and on a Mac it is called a “desktop picture”. These tutorials guide you through how to change your wallpaper in Windows and how to change your desktop picture on a Mac.

Wallpapers or desktop pictures are available in many different formats to fit different monitor sizes.

Fullscreen and widescreen monitors have different proportions for wallpapers.

Although wallpapers can be scaled by the system, picking a size that corresponds with the resolution of your monitor ensures that there is no loss of quality caused by scaling the image.

People who use multi-monitor set-ups can use dual monitor wallpaper. These images are created especially for multi-monitor set ups. It's good practice to save all your downloads to a single location, that way, you'll always have quick and easy access to any download in seconds. To help you with that, you can specify where you want your browser to save files.

Make a folder called “Downloads” and put it in a convenient place. Then you can specify in the preferences of your browser that you want to save downloaded files to that folder.

Open the preferences of your browser. That will bring up a dialog much like this. Don't worry if your menu looks a bit different, it varies depending on the internet browser you are using.

Now all your downloads will be saved into this folder making it easy to find them!

Customizing System Icons

The default system icons, such as the trash can, the Finder icon, the generic folder, hard disk, removable media, the clippings icon, and many more can be changed to system replacement icons with CandyBar.

For example, you can change all of your generic folder icons with just a click using CandyBar.

CandyBar from Panic and Iconfactory is an icon manager that lets you browse and view your icon collections and apply icons to individual folders in a flash.

Customizing icons on a Mac is easy, here is a step-by-step guide to get you started.

Don't worry about which system you are using, this tutorial works for all operating systems! Mac OSX Leopard as well as the older, classic versions of Mac operating systems.

Changing Desktop Icons on a Mac

1) First, find the icon you would like to use.
2) Click on the icon once, to select it.
3) Press Command-I to open the Inspector panel.
4) Select the icon at the top part of the Inspector panel and press Command-C to copy the icon. You will notice that it gets outlined with a blue glow when it is selected.
5) Select the file or folder that you want to customize.
6) Press Command-I to open the Inspector panel of the file or folder you want to customize.
7) Select the icon at the top and press Command-V to paste the icon.

You're done!

If you want to clear a custom icon you have applied, simply select the file or folder, press Command-I to open the Inspector panel for that item, select the icon at the top and press Command-X to remove it.

A Sea of Scilla Wallpaper

The quickest way to customize the desktop picture on your Mac is to open your System Preferences from the Apple menu and click on Desktop & Screensaver.

Drag the image you want to use as your desktop picture onto the image well, the area at the top left where the current desktop picture is previewed.

That's it!

As your collection of desktop pictures expands, you might like to create a folder for wallpapers so that you can find them easily.

For this, more organized approach, you can add the folder that contains your desktop pictures clicking the plus sign at the bottom of the System Preferences Pane and navigating to the folder you want to use.

Tip: For you can set the Mac OS X to change your desktop picture automatically by checking the option at the bottom of the Desktop and Screen Saver section of System Preferences. You can also specify which folders the pictures will come from, how long they will be displayed (such as every hour or every day) and whether or not to show them in a random order.

Easter Hare On The Moon!

“I’m here now, I’m here now, I’m here now” the Easter Bunny cried excitedly and reported that he had hidden eleven colourful Easter Egg Icons on the Marmalade Moon!

He had been racing about, running erratically in a circle... “Alright”, I said, “Calm down! Can you explain what they look like and what you are supposed to do when you find one of these eggs?”

He gave me a look like I am hopeless, and said “They look tiny but that’s just a trick to make it a bit challenging. You simply click on the tiny egg, and then you will be magically transported to a secret page where you find the egg in all its glory and there you can save it to your computer. And don’t forget, there are eleven eggs”.

Then he jumped vertically for no apparent reason. Blinked and darted off.

The last day for the egg hunt will be Easter Monday, 13 April, so get cracking!

I'm very visually oriented when I'm working on a computer. I like a beautiful, uncluttered, organized environment. Therefore I pay extra attention to wallpapers, icons, and organization of folders and files techniques. This means I'm always searching — online, of course — for the right image or icon. And for the most fluid way to keep my stuff organized in the hard drive.

Speaking of magic, I ran into the Easter Bunny and, he said there is going to be a desktop icon egg hunt here at Marmalade Moon!

I asked him about dates and how many of these eggs he was planning to bring and he got really excited, raving on about patterns, geometrical patterns and lots of colours!

He said he’d be back on Saturday, 11 April, to hide all the eggs and that the last day for the egg hunt would be Easter Monday, 13 April. Then his paintbrush dropped out of his satchel and he snatched it back up and looked a bit anxious. He said something about finding the right balance in a pattern and jumped vertically for no apparent reason whatsoever. Blinked and darted off. And there I stood, a big yellow stain on the floor where he had dropped his paintbrush...

To me gardening is creative. Like cooking. Or traveling. And this time of year I can’t help but dream of creating a magical oasis to enjoy warm summer evenings.

Because I didn’t think it was the tool itself, my laptop, it was how I was using it. Be it paintbrushes or digital canvases. Photoshop or Word or a paper and a pencil. And it was my digital environment that was overwhelming me, so what were the core elements of creativity that I wanted to bring with me into my reinvented digital life?

Reinventing My Digital Life: 10 Steps To Staying Focused

I've been reinventing my digital life, to find the time, inspiration, focus, passion and attention for the things I value most. And to reignite my love affair with my digital life.

I started off by taking a close look at what was draining my energy, time and enthusiasm. Then I set about stopping the energy drains by creating new habits for how I spend my time in my digital environment.

Here are 10 of the most effective ways I’ve found to get rid of distractions so that you can focus and find your flow without losing sight of the big picture.

Turn off the Internet. Don't use your browser unless you absolutely must use it for the work you are focussing on.
Turn off your e-mail. At the very least turn off your e-mail notifications. Set a time to check your mail. I like to check my mail after lunch, having spent the morning focussing on my most important project.
Turn off instant messaging, phones and social networks. Set a time to meet people on IM. Enjoy time with family, friends and colleagues through your various channels for communication when you aren’t focussing on a task. Make it a break or a reward at the end of the day.
Reduce incoming information and media to a minimum. Prune your TV programmes, RSS-feed and forums. Opt out of mailing-lists. Only keep the ones that give you value. Set a time for when you check them.
Delay Internet impulses. When you get the urge to visit a forum or social network or to check something on the web, just jot it down on a list and deal with it when you take a break or at the end of the day.
Keep a tidy desk. If it’s a mess, put all your documents in a pile and sort them out later. Put printers and scanners on a separate shelf so they don’t clutter your desk. Spend a few minutes every week keeping your desk straight.
Keep a tidy computer desktop. If your desktop is cluttered up, start off by creating a folder on your desktop and name it something like “To Sort Out”, dump everything that is on your desktop in this folder and sort it out later. Colour-code your projects or use beautiful icons that help you locate your most important files and folders. Take a few minutes every week to tidy your desktop.
Write a to-do list. Make sure your dream is on it. Keep your list updated.
Create a schedule for yourself. I try to get my most important task done first. I also make some time each day to work on my dream project or a creative project. Either in the morning, or in the evening when I am less likely to be distracted. I like to take some time on Fridays to tidy up my desk and my computer desktop. I’ll take care of invoices and other administrative tasks and sit down with my to-do list to rewrite it for the following week. This way I know I’m creating a good start for the next week.
Take breaks and reward yourself. Take a short break every hour to stretch or check your social forums or make a cup of tea or coffee or take a walk round the block or whatever works for you. Reward yourself when you have your triumphs, when things go well and projects are completed.

When I got my first computer, it was my personal digital space. After a day at work, I would finally get home to my computer, my operating system - a digital space that could be anything I wanted it to be.

For me, it was wonderful to not have to have Excel installed at home. Or Windows. Or Solitaire. Oh and WordPerfect!

My computer was a place where I learned new things. A playground. A digital canvas. A wonderful world of writing and painting and connecting with people.

A few years on I began freelancing and soon I started my own company, Marmalade Moon. All of a sudden both my work and many of my hobbies were on the same computer. In the same environment.

And gradually, my once so creative and peaceful digital canvas became a stressful environment flooded with e-mail, instant messaging, the distractions of the internet and unread RSS feed items... Who thought of that idea anyway? "Unread items"? As though reading articles you are interested in is a list of obligations and not a pleasure? And yes of course it spills over into how you feel about it!

So here I was, in a wonderfully convenient and portable digital space that blended work with leisure, but finding myself feeling overwhelmed, unenthusiastic and stressed out.

And I knew that it wasn't the tool itself, my computer, it was how I was using it.

There is a reason why we travel during our holidays! A change of scenery and having new experiences induces new perspectives and stirs the creative spirits. And here I was stuck in a stressful routine, spending too much time in the same digital environment. I needed to reinvent my digital life.

So I decided to create some new habits for my digital life. To make changes to how and when I browse the web, to clean up my RSS-feeds, my mail and to turn things on and off. To log off to find the time, inspiration and attention for the things I value most. To focus on being creative and connecting. To find my flow. And to return to my laptop to express myself.

The next thing I did was to get an iPhone. This Christmas I found the time to explore it and to create a delightful, personal digital space on my iPhone. This really got me excited and renewed my interest in my laptop too! It turned out to be a really fabulous move for me, to have a digital space that had absolutely no work on it!

Reinventing my digital life has been so thrilling and exciting that I'll be writing about creating a personal digital space here on my blog.

There will be interviews with inspiring people and reviews of interesting applications. I'll be writing on topics such as creativity, simplicity and beauty. Flow. Focus. Habits. Writing. Budget solutions and green, sustainable technology. I hope to bring some inspiration to your digital life.

January has been such a dark month, even though the light is returning and increasing each day. Even though we have had some sprinklings of snow... I don’t remember when we last had a sunny day!

So I designed a hot pink orchid flower for February’s club monthly. This illustration comes both as a desktop icon for Mac OSX and Windows, and as an illustration for avatars and non-commercial blogs.

Have you ever been asked to provide your photography, art or writing for free for the supposed PR value? Next time it happens, it might just be time to point those who ask to this video!

In this priceless video “Pay The Writer” Harlan Ellison goes on a rant about writers not getting paid for their work. While this video is about writers in particular, I think it applies to the situation for all kind of creatives such as designers, photographers and artists too.

“I should do a freebie for Warner Brothers?! What is Warner Brothers? Out there you know with a tin cup and an eyepatch on the street? F**k no! They always want the writer to work for nothing. ”

Harlan Ellison, is one of the premier authors of the past forty years. The writer for the original series of both The Outer Limits and Star Trek and consultant for the The New Twilight Zone and Babylon 5. His literary and television work has received many awards.

Christmas is already here and soon a New Year! Yet it feels like it was yesterday that Marmalade Moon celebrated its 10th Anniversary! A year has passed, the Marmalade Moon has turned eleven years old. It’s been an eventful year!

I opened a shop with limited edition art prints and cards for greetings and holidays. Then the Easter Rabbit paid a visit and arranged an Easter icon egg hunt.

Next I launched Club Marmalade Moon and throughout the year released nine editions of the Marmalade Monthly accompanied by members-only desktop art and previews; limited edition avatars, art work for members’ blog or web site, icons, desktop pictures and desktop calendars.

I am working on the last set of desktop art for this year’s Pink October theme at Marmalade Moon, so I was doing some research on the color pink.

I was fascinated to find that the idea of pink being a feminine colour and blue a masculine colour, was a convention that in Western culture, started in the 1920s and got established in the 1940s.

"If you like the color note on the little one's garments, use pink for the boy and blue for the girl, if you are a follower of convention." [The Sunday Sentinal, March 29, 1914.]

Before that, blue was for girls because it was considered more delicate and dainty, and pink was for boys because it was regarded as more masculine and fierce - a paler shade of red.

"There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink being a more decided and stronger color is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." [Ladies Home Journal, June, 1918]

Interesting, I thought. To see how a cultural idea can change, even reverse, and to think about how much these cultural ideas influence us.

Early Summer Lunch Under Clouds of Blossoms in the Cherry Orchard

According to a Swedish legend, there was a cobbler who each year put up a sign that said "Closed Between Bird Cherry and Lilac".

And this is indeed an enchanting time of year! Beautiful and intoxicating early summer. When veils of green leaves open on the bare branches. The heady scents of blossoms. Fresh shades of greens and bird song.

Every year I keep thinking that I really ought to do what the cobbler did! Hang up a sign on the door and take a few weeks off to indulge in this time of sheer beauty. And every year it turns out to be a busy time of year!

I had to do something about it so last week I spent the day walking all over Djurgården in Stockholm. I was dizzy with summer! Lunch in the fruit orchard at Rosendals Trädgård under clouds of cherry blossom was almost too much to take in. Breathtaking.

Back in the studio I worked on this desktop picture with an orchard with cherry trees in bloom which originally was inspired by a letter from Japan. But that is a different story! Trying to give the image this almost ethereal feeling I had in the orchard... And perhaps a bit of a story book quality!

When MacPeople Lite in Japan featured my Soon Spring icons in their Spring 2008 issue I revisited the collection and decided to update the set to include fresh new versions for Mac OS X Leopard and Windows Vista for this weeks release of icons at the Iconfactory.

But it was so much fun to work with these icons that I expanded the collection with five bold, new spring flowers! Inspiration was literally on the doorstep, with a few late Snowdrops and a sea of Scilla on the grassy slope outside the studio. Iris, Daffodils and Pheasant's Eye saluting the sun from the flowerbeds.

When I was designing these flowers I studied them and was fascinated by things I found out. That Iris, in Greek mythology, was the goddess of the rainbow and messenger of the gods. The optical phenomenon iridescence is derived from Iris' name and the fleur-de-lis is a stylized Iris...

Then I read that Pheasant's Eye daffodil, is also called Poet's Daffodil or Narcissus poeticus in latin... Isn't that just irresistable!?

Soon Spring computer icons come with a companion wallpaper: A Sea of Scilla. Inspired by the flocks of blue Scilla blooming on the grassy slope outside the studio this image will put some bold colour on your desktop for a fresh, spring makeover.

Rabbit on the Moon!

He's been here! The Easter Hare was all excited and said he had hidden six eight Easter Egg Icons on the Marmalade Moon!

I asked him what you were supposed to do when you found an egg, he gave me a look like I am hopeless, and said that “you just click on it and you will be magically transported to a secret page where you can save them to your computer”.

Then his paintbrush dropped out of his satchel and he snatched it back up and suddenly looked a bit worried. He said something about finding the right shades for chocolate, and said he'd be back with more eggs “when they were ready”. Then he jumped vertically for no apparent reason. Blinked and darted off.

Just like that! There was no time for me to remind him that the last day for the egg hunt is on Easter Monday, 24 March and ask him what he had planned for the grand finale! If anything... One wonders... I will keep you updated when I see any more evidence of his work...

Easter Icon Egg Hunt

So, I ran into the Easter Bunny and, he said there is going to be a desktop icon egg hunt here at Marmalade Moon!

Yes, he really did seem mad as a March hare, this bunny, or rabbit... Very excited, but also a bit scatterbrained... I was asking him about dates and how many of these eggs he was planning to bring but all I could get out of him was that it will be going on “during Easter” and that he will be hiding “some pretty eggs” all over Marmalade Moon... When I pressed he said the last day for the hunt would be on Easter Monday, 24 March.

I think that was a bit too much for him, having to be so specific, because after that he started mumbling about whether these eggs would be wrapped in foil or not, or if they would be made of chocolate or if they were going to be all in shades of pastels or in stronger colours, with patterns or dyed, hollow or solid... And then he hopped off with a jerk, I assume to make preparations, and I refrained from passing any comments about tin foil...

I have been experimenting with Twitter. Poetic micro-blogging. Brief moments. A cup of coffee or bird song. Fleeting thoughts. Glimpses of my day. Often something that inspires me. Something that brightens my day. Small miracles.

If you are curious you can follow my twits, um, my tweets I mean. I hope they can inspire you!

This creative tutorial video “Twitter in Plain English” by Lee LeFever from Common Craft explains how Twitter works.

Of course you can be creative with Twitter. You don't have to report to the whole world your every move. It doesn't have to be a source of stress, yet one more thing to update, like a timesheet.

It is interesting to see how a great fear or awareness of George Orwell's Big Brother watching has been replaced by the current trend to voluntarily report one's activities! Without being too paranoid, I think it is a good idea to be aware that burglars and stalkers may take advantage of the information that people publish. Also, it might be a good idea to take into account that people like your business associates or your future employer could be following your tweets.

However, you can protect your updates so that only those you approve can follow your tweets. Maybe you only want your family and close friends to read your tweets. Maybe you are using Twitter to increase your productivity in work situations and only want your co-workers to follow your updates. You can even use Twitter as a tool just for yourself and not allow anyone to follow you. Then again maybe you want the whole world to read them! It's all up to you.

Some people use Twitter to be more productive and use it to network, promote their businesses and collaborate with co-workers. Or as a to-do-list. To ask a question. A shopping list. Or for themselves, for example to track exercises and calorie intake. Others use Twitter to report a stream of daily activities and thoughts or to vent publicly.

Some feel that answering the question “what are you doing?” is the ultimate way to use Twitter, whilst others feel that is the least interesting way.

Today I was happy and excited to get my copy of Swedish Illustration, a book that I am being featured in!

I am busy creating more desktop art on the theme of the full moon. There will be a new set of icons with the full moon based on the colourful moons from the Total Lunar Eclipse Collection of wallpapers. I am planning a set that spans from silvery white, a harvest moon and blood red moons in explosive shades of red, orange, pink and palest lilac. Oh, and a blue moon too of course!

Also, on popular demand, I am remastering 'The Painted Desert', a desert landscape with moon. Adding new sizes for large monitors and for the iPhone and iPod Touch as well as dual monitor versions.

I am making a new wallpaper for the celestial feast on Thursday, February 21, when stargazers will see the full Moon blush red as it passes through Earth's shadow in a total lunar eclipse! The colour of the Moon will change from silvery white to copper red or glowing orange when light is deflected by the Earth’s atmosphere and bounces back off the “blood moon”.

Shades of palest lilac, pinks, oranges and deep red all come together forming a Moon that resembles a glowing coal. So check back for a collection of new desktop pictures with the total eclipse of the Moon!

Valentine's Day Icons Upsized for Leopard and Vista

I just updated two sets of computer icons, Valentine's Day and Wedding with new juicy big sizes for Mac for Mac OS X Leopard and Windows Vista in time for for the Iconfactory's Valentine's Day Celebration. Naturally these icons still also contain versions for the classic systems. These icons will look simply gorgeous in Leopard’s Cover Flow or as searchable CandyBar iContainers.

Valentine's Day includes desktop icons depicting hearts, a Valentine's Day card, a forget-me-not, a rose and a box of chocolates.

Originally I created Wedding as an iconic wedding gift for a friend and co-worker. The collection has a Chinese theme and includes a wedding invitation, a bridal bouquet of red roses, gold wedding rings, a wedding cake, a present, a glass of champagne and the Chinese symbol for Double Happiness.

Marmalade Moon is ten years old and celebrating! Over the years the Marmalade Moon has gone through quite a development. Even I was surprised that there were SO many people longing for their new iPhones!

On popular demand I created a second set of iPhonica icons. Volume 2 of my series of icons based on the upcoming GUI of Apple's new iPhone is this week's freeware release over at the Iconfactory. The set contains 10 new computer icons. A rose for your iPhone Valentine. A snowflake for winter. And several more utilitarian icons too.
