I’m very excited for one of my weddings to be featured in latest “Your Bristol and Somerset Wedding” magazine (Feb/Mar 2012 issue) where you can find the amazing Guy and Gemini’s Maunsel House wedding. I love winter weddings with their special warm feel and challenging photography conditions. In December last year I visited beautiful Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire countryside to photograph wedding of one very lovely couple, Mark and Kate! I got to know them a bit better when I did their engagement shoot a few months back and I really loved their way of thinking and attitude to wedding planning. I was also very exited to be shooting in amazing Berkeley Castle for the first time. Berkeley Castle is one of the most remarkable buildings in Britain and are said to be one of the most outstanding examples of Mediaeval domestic architecture in the country. I had big expectations before arriving at the venue, and it didn’t let me down at all.

We started the day with Kate’s preparations in Clifton area of Bristol, not far from where I live and then moved to nearby Redland church for the wedding service, which is located right next to my tennis club.. so it felt a bit like visiting my usual places around the city, but with different assignment on hand.

Kates sister was singing for the newlyweds and I was absolutely stunned about what came out of her – WOW, what a voice she has! and featuring the church choir and organ , it was truly impressive!!

London is probably one of the best places to do pre wedding shoots or any kind of shoots in fact. And if engagement shoot in London is coupled with two amazing and fun people – the day is guaranteed to be great! I did James and Jenna’s wedding photography in Botleys Mansion a few months back, which I shared in my blog here a while ago, but I was a bit lazy and didn’t share their amazing pre-wedding shoot which we did before their wedding. Now is time to fix this.. We spent half a day hanging around their favourite locations in central London and surely that is the best way to do pre wedding photography – just spending the day doing what you love doing. This time it was shopping in London’s Borough market, visiting quite a few parks and squares with amazing London cityscapes and even taking a bot trip on river Thames. What an amazing day it was!

Thank you so much for the pre-shoot photo’s, they’re amazing!! Jenna and I can’t stop looking at them as in a strange way we prefer them to our wedding ones, something about the different venues reflecting all of the important places to us both since we have been together! Having now seen them we will have to amend the testimonial we have written for you to reflect the even more impressive results of the shoot!

Well it’s 3rd of January already and I cannot believe how quickly the 2011 has gone! I thought this might be a good time to look back at it and see how it’s been.. and well… it’s been amazing! The best one yet! I feel so blessed to have been chosen to photograph so many wonderful weddings this year by best couples ever! I have just been looking through my wedding photo archive of 2011 and it feels truly amazing to have captured so many very special moments of people’s most amazing day!

After being accepted by AG|WPJA and ISPWP last year I am absolutely stunned about my photography being recognised in a few of their very exclusive competitions. and not just once, but three times. I somehow even managed to get a 1st place on ISPWP competition a few months back. That was too one of my highlights of 2011.

I’ve also had a pleasure to visit lot’ of new venues. Some of those worth mentioning included the Maunsel House, which is now officially my favourite venue and I can’t wait to shoot my next wedding there in March, then there was Botleys Mansion in Surrey, which is what you might want to call perfect. How Caple Court was a huge surprise for me – located in the middle of nowhere it just blew me away with it’s surroundings and quirkiness.. Orchardleigh House, Rookery Manor, Pengethley Manor and Halswell House all were also amazing.

I feel 2012 will be an even more incredible journey. With summer almost fully booked already and a few destination weddings including a two-day wedding in Cyprus there’s lots to look forward in 2012! Bring it on!! :)

And finally – a huge thanks to couples who have chosen me to document their biggest day! You are amazing!

John and Erika are from United States and they are planning to get married next year in Chicago, USA. At the moment they are spending their time in Bristol and so I was asked by Erika if I’d like to do a pre wedding shoot for them in one of Bristol’s oldest and most famous locations – the Christmas Steps. That sounded great to me so we headed there to do a short pre wedding shoot. Here’s just a few of the shots that came out – mostly black&white to fit John and Erika’s wedding invites.
