Love is Blind: UK Season 3 premiered on Netflix Wednesday, gracing our screens with 30 new single men and women looking for love beyond looks.

The second World Humanoid Robot Games will kick off this weekend in Beijing, China, gathering tech companies and university groups from around the world to test their robots across 50 events. As such, entrants have been running last-minute tests in preparation for the competition, showcasing some impressive feats — and amusing failures.

Last year's inaugural Games featured over 500 robots from 280 teams, competing in 26 events. These not only included sports such as floor gymnastics and soccer, but also competitions designed to test the robots' capabilities when working in hotel, factory, and hospital scenarios.

The Games have grown considerably this year, involving 2056 robots presented by 666 teams from across 16 countries. New athletic events such as table tennis, tug of war, and weightlifting have been added, alongside expanded "scenario-based events" like assembling power tools, conducting a fire rescue, and charging an electric car.

They also have varying automation requirements. While human operators are permitted in sporting events like long jump and kickboxing, the humanoid robots are required to act independently in ones such as breakdancing, cheerleading, and the 4x100-metre relay. Though the rules for scenario-based events are less strict, allowing both automation and remote control, the scores for the latter are halved. As such, entrants who submit fully autonomous robots have a definite edge.

According to the World Humanoid Robot Games' website, participating robots are to "demonstrate a perfect balance of strength, speed, and flexibility" in the sporting events, while the scenario events will test them "on functionality and adaptability in real-world environments."

"As the world's first multidimensional humanoid robot competition encompassing 'sports + art + application,' the Games adhere to the principles of fair competition, open innovation, safety control, and industrial synergy," the World Humanoid Robot Games states. "Participating teams are encouraged to push athletic boundaries through technological innovation and to explore the infinite possibilities of human–robot coexistence through interdisciplinary collaboration."

Chinese robotics companies Unitree and X-Humanoid dominated the competition last year, topping the medal tally at 11 and 10 respectively. Of these, Unitree's H1 humanoid robot scored the company's four gold medals in track and field events, while X-Humanoid took two golds in the 100-metre sprint and a factory floor scenario.

Unitree is likely to do well again this year. The company previewed its new "Superman" humanoid robot earlier this week, sharing a video of it jumping approximately 2 metres high as well as running at 12.658 m/s. The top recorded speed reached by world-class sprinter Usain Bolt — credited with being the fastest man in the world —  was 12.42 m/s.

"This new machine has only been in development for a little over three months, with significant room for further improvement in the coming months," Unitree claimed.

Unitree's demonstration combined with last year's performance certainly makes it one to watch, particularly as the new Superman robot seems likely to compete. Earlier this week, robotics expert Eren Chen shared a clip on X that appeared to show Unitree's Superman doing a test run on the World Humanoid Robot Games' track, though it sprinted off course and crashed into some electrical boxes.

While the 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games runs from Aug. 22 to 26, some teams arrived at Beijing's National Speed Skating Oval ahead of time, with videos of their preparations spreading online. Another viral clip Chen shared showed an unidentified humanoid robot running down the track before colliding with a cushioned blue wall. Unfortunately it was unable to catch itself, falling backwards onto its head and apparently breaking at the waist, sending sparks flying.

Judging by such test runs, Chen noted that this year's runners seem to have more difficulty navigating than at last year's event. This may be due to the World Humanoid Robot Games updating the requirements for several track events, changing them from remote-controlled to autonomous.

"Last year, running and dynamic motion control were meaningful because they proved a basic point: before a humanoid can do useful work, it first needs a capable body.  But once that foundation exists, simply making the robot run faster gives you diminishing returns," Chen posted, questioning the value in continuing to make humanoid robots run faster.

"Knowing when to slow down, when to stop, and how to stop safely matters just as much as how fast you can run. That kind of judgment is also part of what makes a robot actually intelligent…. At the end of the day, our goal is to have a robot that can safely and reliably work around people and actually get things done."

That isn't to say that the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games were without mishaps. Several robots reportedly did not finish or even leave the starting line in last year's opening race, with at least one competitor falling and losing an arm. Meanwhile, a robot fell and tripped several others during a soccer game, while a kickboxing robot sent itself to the floor after disrupting its own balance with a roundhouse kick. Even so, such incidents no doubt provide valuable data and learning experiences for the humanoid robots' development teams.

It's unlikely that those in the U.S. will get to see such humanoid robots in person any time soon. The U.S. government banned all new foreign-made mobile robots from the country last month, including robot vacuums. If you do happen to be in Beijing this weekend, attendance at the World Humanoid Robot Games is open to the public, with tickets starting from ¥98 (approximately $14.50).

August has been a busy month for celestial events. From the recent solar eclipse, the Perseids meteor shower, and now a partial lunar eclipse will be gracing our skies.

Visible across much of North America this week, sky-gazers will have the chance to watch Earth's shadow creep across the surface of the full moon. Want to find out more? Keep reading to know when to look up and what to know about the event.

When is the lunar eclipse?

The partial lunar eclipse will take place on Aug. 27–28, 2026, according to Time and Date. It begins on the evening of Aug. 27 and peaks in the early hours of Aug. 28. Timings will vary based on your location, but NASA estimates it to be around 12:13 a.m. ET.

What is a lunar eclipse?

According to NASA, a lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, causing the Moon to pass through Earth's shadow. Lunar eclipses can only happen during a full moon, when the three bodies are aligned closely enough for Earth's shadow to fall across the lunar surface.

This is only a partial eclipse. During a partial lunar eclipse, only a portion of the moon passes through Earth’s shadow. From Earth, the shadowed area can appear noticeably darker against the illuminated part of the moon. Exactly how the eclipse looks depends on the alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon line up, with Earth directly between the other two. The moon still receives a small amount of sunlight, but that light has to travel through Earth's atmosphere first. The atmosphere scatters much of the blue light, allowing more red and orange light to reach the moon, which is why it can look reddish.

How to see the lunar eclipse

Thankfully, unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is completely safe to watch with the naked eye, so you don't need special glasses or equipment.

The best way to see it is nice and easy: just head somewhere with a clear view of the sky and as little light pollution as possible. Look toward the moon as the eclipse gets underway, and you'll see Earth's shadow gradually cover part of its surface.

Binoculars or a telescope will give you a closer look, but they aren’t necessary if you don’t have access to either.

Rosie O'Donnell concluded her Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest-hosting week with a musical middle finger to Donald Trump.

A longtime critic of the president, the comedian and screen legend has been starting every nightly monologue with a thinly veiled dig at Trump. How to watch the Dutch GP for free

An Amazon Prime subscription delivers fast shipping, Prime Day discounts, and access to the Prime Video library. For F1 fans in the U.S., Prime Video is a bit of a hack. Whatever that was, Spa Weekend at least respects the blooper reel.

Jon Lucas and Scott Moore's frankly terrible comedy gifts audiences who manage to remain seated until the end with the once-mighty inclusion, a stream of gaffs and bloopers from the shoot.

Spa Weekend follows four childhood friends (including one they all hate), burned out from work and parenting, treating themselves to a luxury spa weekend on the Californian coast. But while the film presents a dated lineup of subpar bits and bachelorettecore needle drops, the blooper reel is where the real comedy lives. Blooper reels used to be quintessential for comedies in the '90s and '00s — Lucas and Moore's own The Hangover films and Bad Moms came with blooper reels — but they're now mainly TV territory.

It's here, we get to see the comedy finesse of cast members Isla Fisher and Michelle Buteau, as well as some fun moments from co-stars Anna Faris and Leslie Mann. Fisher, in particular, rolls out some deeply Australian improv gold, which is actually worth sticking around for. These scenes make it awkwardly obvious that Spa Weekend's illustrious cast far outshines the film's half-baked script.

Remember fun? Was that what we were supposed to be having for the last two hours? For a film so determined to Woo Woo Wellness Girlbossification its way through tired takes on meditation, goat yoga, and dildos through to a message about female friendship and empowerment or something, it's deeply unfunny.

Thank f*ck for the outtakes, though.

It should have been a simple road trip, the kind where you ask each other silly hypothetical questions, eat junk food, and make memories that get foggy yet more glorious in the recounting. But It Ends, the directorial debut of writer/helmer/editor Alexander Ullom, takes this setup down a merciless road, where such joys are hard to come by.

The premise seems deceptively simple: Four childhood friends on a road trip find themselves on an endless road, where there's no chance to turn off. And every time they stop, they are rushed by strangers, who race screaming out of the surrounding woods. In such a scenario, what path is left for the group except forward? And what does that look like?

Well, for starters: grim.

It Ends offers a reflection on Gen Z's existential dread.

College has just concluded, and thus it's time for James (Phinehas Yoon), Day (Akira Jackson), and Fisher (Noah Toth) to move out of their dorms and onto the next chapter in their lives. Who better to transport them than their childhood buddy Tyler (Mitchell Cole)? While they were off getting a degree, he was learning how to be a grown-up without one.

In the front seat, Tyler keeps his eyes on the road, while his friends bounce about a familiar internet hypothetical. 50 hawks, 5 gorillas, one gun-toting man, 10,000 mice. Choose two groups to defend you against the other two.

While aspiring graphic designer Day and chipper Fisher argue playfully, James, who has his white-collar life mapped out from shitty first apartment to six-figure salary and happy nuclear family, is dryly judgmental of their logic and the question itself. On its surface, it's a petty disagreement. But it's one that becomes reflective of the four's dynamic as a whole. Tyler is a doer. Fisher and Day, dreamers, who revel in emotion and play over logic. And James is ruthlessly logical.

So, it's Tyler who first recognizes that despite their GPS, they're lost. The promised turn in the road hasn't come, and when he turns around, all he finds is a dead-end at a forest thick with screaming strangers. What choice do they have but to take a U-turn and drive the other way?

Ullom builds elements eerily surreal, not in his visuals but in the details of this road's realm. The foursome realizes that the car's gas supply is constant, never dropping below a quarter of a tank. They are similarly stagnant. They no longer experience hunger or thirst. And no matter how much they crave the reprieve of sleep, it will not come.

There is no rest for the youth, stuck in a world they did not make and cannot understand. But that won't stop James from trying. With every passing mile, he seeks tirelessly for new information that might lead to an answer, if not a way out. His friends however, begin to wonder what the point of answers would be if there is no way out. And just like that, Ullom makes his road trip movie a bleak reckoning of what it means to be young on a planet that's being destroyed by those who came before.

It Ends succeeds because of a solid young cast.

Jackson and Toth create a comedy duo of daffy besties, who look to find a laugh even in the darkest moments. Together, they keep It Ends from being suffocatingly bleak. Cole, for his part, grounds the film's reality with an authentic world-weariness. But Yoon is tasked with carrying the film on his shoulders as its restrained core.

Where his friends will scream, cry, whine, and threaten to give up, James is resolute. And Yoon must make this dedication believable, even in the face of so much that is incomprehensible. His dark eyes flicker with defiance as he sees miles of the same stretch of road and forest. And even as his friends add levity or energy, it is he that we are bound to, challenged to recognize where our breaking point might be.

At just 87 minutes, It Ends is a "short-ass movie," but doesn't feel like a sprint. It's a moody trek, on which Ullom expresses existential dread through the deterioration of that most sacred of movie cows: childhood friendship. What if, It Ends asks, the people you depend on the most can't save you from the future? What if the control we imagined we had as kids to choose our vocation and so our destiny were a total fiction? What if the title is a lie, and there is no end? What if the meaning of our lives is not one we can answer, no matter how long the road?

It Ends will silently pose the questions through James and his friends' harrowing journey. But its up to each audience member to find the meaning themselves.

Queer horror fans have a complicated relationship to the genre. Horror cinema is a place where we have seen ourselves reflected, but often as villains.

From the flamboyant mad scientists of James Whale's Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein to the sapphic vampires of Dracula's Daughter, to the trans-coded killers of Sleepaway Camp and The Silence of the Lambs, LGBTQ+ characters shimmer throughout the fabric of the horror canon. While such problematic portrayals might feel like antiques, they've nonetheless shaped the genre and generations of queer horror fans. And for these folks, American filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun has made Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

Written and directed by Schoenbrun, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma celebrates the slashers and, through that, explores the complicated feelings of loving a genre that doesn't reliably love you back. But that's not all. They also offer a radical tonal shift from their moody films We're All Going to the World's Fair and I Saw the TV Glow, delivering a comedy that is part horny psychosexual thriller and part campy parody. The result is a film that is rollicking in queer joy, blood spray, and irreverent humor.

Yes, it's meta, smart, and challenging genre norms. But calling Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma "elevated horror" is to miss its point.

Hacks' Hannah Einbinder stars as Kris, a 29-year-old queer filmmaker whose Sundance success has earned her a shot at relaunching the long-dead Camp Miasma slasher franchise. Like with I Saw The TV Glow, Schoenbrun creates a deep wealth of lore and fandom merch to flesh out the fictional IP within this story. Where I Saw The TV Glow's central show had shades of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Camp Miasma seems a mix of Sleepaway Camp, Friday the 13th, and Twin Peaks.

The first film was a grimy, ultra-bloody slasher flick that centered on a wide-eyed Final Girl named Billy Preston, who was stalked by a harpoon-carrying killer called Little Death (I Saw the TV Glow's Jack Haven). For Kris, Billy is the key to understanding how to revive Camp Miasma, and so she travels to meet the aging scream queen (Gillian Anderson), who lives at the "haunted summer camp" where the first film was shot.

Red flags like this don't deter Kris, who is eager to walk in the footsteps of Little Death and his victims. But before long, Kris starts to realize that Billy isn't interested in making another movie. She's interested in Kris. Desire blooms between the two women, but inelegantly. And that's the point.

Schoenbrun recognizes how horror can be ludicrous, with kills that turn severed human necks into fountains that shoot blood 30 feet in the sky, as if we are meat sacks full of cherry soda just waiting to explode. Sex they treat as similarly silly from the moment we meet the siren that is Billy Preston.

Anderson plays the reclusive actress as Norma Desmond by way of Dolly Parton in a David Lynch movie. She slinks around the cabins with perfectly manicured, bright red nails, her hair in big, tumbling blonde curls, and her wardrobe silky robes that beg to be stroked. But then, she'll offer Kris a preposterously abundant plate of fried chicken, treating the accompanying dipping sauces as if they were oysters, ripe for vaginal allegory and campy foreplay.

While many might write Billy off as odd and flee this camp of red flags, Kris is drawn in because Billy is fearless, even in her strangeness. Through her influence, Kris not only reconsiders her Camp Miasma movie, but also her understanding of herself. Where Billy is a carnal creature who licks her fingers and speaks candidly of sex to a near stranger, Kris is shy and cerebral, far more capable of talking about "elevated horror" and transphobia in film than she is her own desires.

However, through her relationship with Billy, Kris learns to understand horror not just as her personal obsession, but also as a path to self-acceptance. How does a harpoon-wielding slasher, an avalanche of candy wrappers, and a Southern-fried recluse factor into that? Well, Camp Miasma's killer's name being "Little Death" is a pretty big clue.

We're talking orgasms.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is gloriously irreverent in its approach to its influences. Schoenbrun name-drops or alludes to Sunset Boulevard, Psycho, Mulholland Drive, Bound, Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp, and more. But they do so with a rebellious joy that turns a transgressive backstory into a gorgeous portrait of nonbinary beauty, and an iconic final shot into a rebellious echo of pride.

The cinematography of Eric K. Yue manages to weave together tones that go from earnestly amorous to unapologetically loony. A production design that blends a realistic camp setting with forest backdrops that are clearly painted challenges the audience to consider what is real and whether or not that matters. The music offers Psycho-reminiscent stings of strings, sultry synth keyboard, and a chaotic soundtrack that ranges from Counting Crows' "A Long December" to Sade's "No Ordinary Love," and Donna Lewis' "I Love You Always Forever."

It's a bold blend of dark inspirations and cheerful pop. Anderson and Einbinder are entrusted to make it work, and they do. Einbinder steps out of the chaotic bisexual bravado of her Hacks heroine, embracing the timid sapphic who's technically poly but low-key resents her partner's (Jasmin Savoy Brown) boyfriend Thor (Aren Buchholz). Her intellectualizing and her filmmaking are where she feels comfortable, while Anderson's Billy is bored by all that blather. Billy relishes flesh and touch, and so becomes a carnal mentor.

Together, their quirks make sense, building a world that others might see as bizarre, but which the queer (like a gas station attendant with a septum ring) will clock as wondrous. Like Lynch's leading ladies in Mulholland Drive or Todd Haynes' in Carol, these two actresses tug on each other, giving the film a sexual tension and emotional pull that is exhilarating. And then on top of that, they embrace the absurdity Schoenbrun has baked in, which reminds the audience earnestly that sex need not be taken so seriously. It can be silly, messy, sweet, and bloody, and it can shine a light on the most fucked-up desires of our queer little minds. And all of that can be celebrated instead of shame, with the help of a Little Death.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma explores where queerness, self-acceptance, and horror collide. But it's also a hell of a good time. Schoenbrun and their cast embrace the ghoulish delights of slasher slaughters, the titillating fun of their teen sex and death, and the radiant joy of finding pleasure in your own body. All this makes Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma a knockout, from its first kill to its final thrill.

This season of F1 is unlike any other. Every season of F1 has a number of fascinating storylines to follow, but due to a major set of regulation changes, there's so much uncertainty right now. And uncertainty can lead to exciting racing.

Lando Norris secured an incredible title victory on the final day of last season. Now the pressure is on McLaren to defend that title against a long list of talented drivers and motivated teams. The likes of George Russell, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton are all challenging for race wins this season. Mercedes are the team to beat this season, but Ferrari are not far behind.

What is F1?

Formula One (F1) is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. A season consists of a series of races (Grands Prix) that take place in multiple countries and continents on either purpose-built circuits or closed public roads.

How to watch F1 for free

We're finally getting the Silo answers we've long been craving.

Last week we found out who was behind the silos' construction, and this week we learned why they were built in the first place, as well as what might be the cause of the apocalypse that first drove everyone under ground.

What does Silo Season 3, episode 8 tell us about how the world ends?

After being abducted by their own car and taken on a mystery flight and helicopter ride, episode 8 sees Daniel (Ashley Zukerman), Helen (Jessica Henwick), and Charles (Jessica Brown Findlay) sitting down for dinner with the silos' creators: billionaire Per Stensen (Colin Hanks) and Senator Thurman (Laura Innes).

Stensen explains that he currently has diggers creating 50 silos where people could one day live to repopulate the earth, in the event of an apocalypse.

"The threats we face — nuclear war, climate collapse, viral pandemic, asteroid strike, artificial intelligence, and some we haven't thought of... but the one, the one that is most dangerous, is also the reason why I'm the richest man in history: nanotechnology," he says. "But not just because it's invisible, but because I knew... I knew that an enemy government would soon realise that a nanoweapon was a hell of a lot cheaper to build than a nuclear one."

Stensen and Senator Thurman go on to reveal that Iran has already built nanoweapons and attempted to disrupt the U.S.' own research, leading the two countries into war.

What does nanotechnology have to do with Charles' mission?

Remember Charles' mission in episode 1, where her plane was engulfed in that weird, gooey cloud? Apparently the real aim of that mission was to help take out a nanofacility Iran had built in the mountains. As Charles points out, though, they never reached their target — and that's because they were only ever meant to be a decoy. The cloud that engulfed the planes was Iran's nanoweapon. While Charles' friends were dying, another unit that had tunnelled beneath the facility in secret was waiting to blow it up.

Does nanotechnology cause the apocalypse in Silo?

It's too early to say for sure, but things seem to be heading that way.

Stensen, who is very knowledgable in the area of nanotechnology, says it's what he fears the most, so much so that he's building an underground city to try and save the human population when things go south. The fact that both the U.S. and Iran already have this technology, and have successfully weaponised it in a devastating way, suggests that what he says at dinner may be correct. Perhaps this futuristic, invisible weaponry is what will finally drive people underground.

What are Moon phases?

The Moon goes through a series of phases that cause its appearance to change as seen from Earth. As the Moon orbits Earth, it goes through a lunar cycle that takes about 29.5 days to complete, according to NASA. The positions of the Sun, Earth, and Moon determine how much of the Moon’s illuminated side is visible from Earth, creating its different phases. Throughout the cycle, the Moon changes from a thin crescent to a half Moon, then a Full Moon, before repeating the cycle once more.

The eight phases are:

New Moon - The Moon is between Earth and the sun, so the side we see is dark (in other words, it's invisible to the eye).

Waxing Crescent - A small sliver of light appears on the right side (Northern Hemisphere).

First Quarter - Half of the Moon is lit on the right side. It looks like a half-Moon.

Waxing Gibbous - More than half is lit up, but it’s not quite full yet.

Full Moon - The whole face of the Moon is illuminated and fully visible.

Waning Gibbous - The Moon starts losing light on the right side. (Northern Hemisphere)

Third Quarter (or Last Quarter) - Another half-Moon, but now the left side is lit.

Each puzzle features 16 words, and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake — players get up to four mistakes before the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

Released in August 2025, Pips puts a unique spin on dominoes, creating a fun single-player experience that could become your next daily gaming habit.

Currently, if you're stuck, the game only offers to reveal the entire puzzle, forcing you to move on to the next difficulty level and start over. However, we have you covered! Below are piecemeal answers that will serve as hints so that you can find your way through each difficulty level.

How to play Pips

If you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity with how Pips is played. As we've shared in our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally and connect with each other. The main difference between a traditional game of dominoes and Pips is the color-coded conditions you have to address. The touching tiles don't necessarily have to match.

The conditions you have to meet are specific to the color-coded spaces. For example, if it provides a single number, every side of a tile in that space must add up to the number provided. It is possible — and common — for only half a tile to be within a color-coded space.

Here are common examples you'll run into across the difficulty levels:

• Number: All the pips in this space must add up to the number.

• Equal: Every domino half in this space must be the same number of pips.

• Not Equal: Every domino half in this space must have a completely different number of pips.

• Less than: Every domino half in this space must add up to less than the number.

• Greater than: Every domino half in this space must add up to more than the number.

If an area does not have any color coding, it means there are no conditions on the portions of dominoes within those spaces.

Strands, the New York Times' elevated word-search game, requires the player to perform a twist on the classic word search. Words can be made from linked letters — up, down, left, right, or diagonal, but words can also change direction, resulting in quirky shapes and patterns. Every single letter in the grid will be part of an answer. There's always a theme linking every solution, along with the "spangram," a special, word or phrase that sums up that day's theme, and spans the entire grid horizontally or vertically.

By providing an opaque hint and not providing the word list, Strands creates a brain-teasing game that takes a little longer to play than its other games, like Wordle and Connections.

Packing your bags for a trip can be a daunting task. Unfortunately, I can't help you with clothes, toiletries, and other essentials you'll need to bring on your vacation.

However, I can help you lighten your load when it comes to packing a camera.

Over the years, I have packed several different cameras from point-and-shoots like the Nikon Coolpix, mirrorless shooters like the Panasonic Lumix, expensive cinema devices like the Sony FX30, and even the Flip Video (remember those?!).

This year, I discovered the perfect camera — or really, combination of devices that include cameras — that significantly lightened my travel load. Not only that, the photos and videos I took came out better than ever before, and I was able to still spend the majority of my time just enjoying my vacation. Plus, as an added bonus, I found that I took way more photos and videos than I did with my bulkier cameras too.

Without any further ado, leave the clunky camera rig at home. Here's what camera you should take on your vacation:

Insta360 Luna Ultra

Insta360's answer to DJI's Osmo Pocket line of gimbal cameras has only been around since June but I'm calling it now: The Insta360 Luna Ultra is the ultimate travel camera.

Mashable's Amanda Yeo just recently published a full review of the Insta360 Luna Ultra and I concur with all of her high praise for the camera. And I'd like to add that it's also the perfect camera for your travels.

The Insta360 Luna Ultra compact size makes it really convenient to carry around, whether you slide it in a side-pouch on your backpack, keep it handy in a sling bag, or just hold it. The built-in gimbal provides the perfect grip for walking and shooting and the stabilization it provides makes it look like you're filming your vacation with a professional camera rig.

It's not just the Insta360 Luna Ultra's gimbal that has the device punching above its weight class either. The footage quality is cinema-esque. There's truly no reason to bring around a clunky DSLR or mirrorless camera, numerous lenses, and other camera accessories now that the Luna Ultra exists.

Furthermore, the dual lens system gives you up to 12x zoom, which delivers crystal clear imagery that I honestly had to take myself to believe it was from this camera.

As you may have heard already, the Luna Ultra's screen detaches as a remote and portable microphone, which allows users to set up the Luna Ultra and control it from a significant distance away. I cannot stress enough how integral this feature is for a travel camera. 

If you've already seen reviews from the Luna Ultra, you probably know about some of the potential use cases. You can set the Luna Ultra up on a tripod and get shots where you'd normally require a second person. But, you're traveling. You're not carrying a tripod around with you. But we've all been in a situation where we have asked someone to take a picture, only for them to be confused about how to use the camera. Well, simply hand off the Luna Ultra and ask that person to just stand there, holding the camera, and do nothing else. You can snap the photo, reframe the picture, and zoom in or out all via the remote.

Smartphone

OK, so I lied. You'll be taking more than one camera on this trip, but this one you were bringing along for the ride anyway.

Your smartphone camera, whether it be an iPhone or Android device,  is still far and away one of the best cameras you can take on your trip. Smartphone camera footage is always getting better and it's just so convenient to use. You already have it in your pocket anyway! And it's still the quickest option to pull out for a quick snapshot of a fleeting moment because it's already on and ready to go.

And, as great as the Insta360 Luna Ultra is, I'm not looking to use it in certain situations. For example, I'd rather not get sand from the beach on the Luna Ultra with its moving parts. Even if your smartphone costs the equivalent of a camera — or even more — its built for everyday wear and tear in ways that standalone cameras just usually aren't.

If you're a parent, there's one more device you'll want to take along with you, especially if your kids are aspiring photographers or filmmakers too.

You don't want your child playing around with your camera or smartphone on the trip. But, you also don't want to give them one of those big bulky children's cameras with terrible quality that, for some reason, always tries to emulate the design of an old-fashioned camera.

Gamers have been waiting years to see gameplay footage from Grand Theft Auto VI, but this week, an individual or group known as CyberLeek has started posting possible clips online.

For anyone who has not spent years following every scrap of GTA 6 news, here is why this matters: The game is the long-awaited next installment in Rockstar Games’ enormously popular open-world crime series. Players explore fictional cities, drive vehicles, complete missions, and generally cause as much chaos as they want. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, was released in 2013, meaning fans have been waiting more than a decade for this one.

Now, just three months before GTA 6 arrives, and a week before an extended look premieres on Netflix, CyberLeek is releasing what appears to be unfinished footage from the game. The leaker has already posted videos of driving, fighting, a basketball mini game, and flying, along with images purportedly showing the game’s full map. The latest clip also shows the main character Jason shooting the word "Leek" onto a wall, suggesting the leakers have more than just random video clips.

Mashable is not posting the alleged GTA leaks, which have not been confirmed as legitimate, but the videos have been going viral on X and other platforms.

CyberLeek has also published what appears to be a manifesto on consumer rights, launched its own cryptocurrency, and asked people to spend that token to vote on which footage to release next.

If this sounds like a lot, it is. Let’s break it down.

What is CyberLeek?

CyberLeek is the name used by an unidentified person or group releasing alleged GTA 6 development material. We do not know who is behind it, where the operator is located, or how the footage was obtained. It is also unclear whether one person is running the operation or whether multiple people are involved.

CyberLeek presents itself as a kind of digital vigilante fighting for video game consumers. The homepage advertises "community voting," "decentralized leeks," and "no wallet connect," all under a pixelated image of a leek wearing tactical gear. Yes, the vegetable.

CyberLeek has also published what it calls the "CYBERLEEK Edict," a manifesto arguing that major game publishers have made the industry worse for customers.

CyberLeek lists three rules — or, in its language, "commandments" — that it wants publishers to follow. It opposes digital preorders, paid add-ons that merely unlock single-player material already contained in a game, and the permanent loss of single-player content when a publisher shuts down its servers.

According to CyberLeek, any publisher that breaks one of those rules could become a future target. It says the leaks will continue until its demands are met, which is extremely unlikely.

What has CyberLeek released so far?

The first CyberLeek videos appeared on Aug. 18 and seemed to show an unfinished version of GTA 6. As Mashable reported, one clip featured Jason Duval, one of the game’s two main characters, shooting a basketball. Another showed him driving, fighting, stealing a vehicle, and attracting the attention of the police.

Later videos reportedly showed Jason and NPCs using tasers, as well as a short cut scene.

CyberLeek has also released images it claims show the complete map of Leonida, the fictional state inspired by Florida, where GTA 6 takes place. Fans have been examining the footage for hints about how the game will work, including possible fuel gauges for vehicles, weapon-storage systems, and new ways of escaping the police.

Before getting too excited (or disappointed), there is an important caveat. If the footage is authentic, it appears to come from an unfinished development build, meaning a working version used while the game is still being created and tested. Prominent gaming leaker NateTheHate described the footage as more than a year old, while Insider Gaming says it may date back to 2024 or earlier.

Anything in this version could have been changed, improved, or removed before the game is released. The videos have also been repeatedly downloaded and reposted, reducing their quality each time. They are not a reliable indication of how the finished game will look.

There is another complication: None of the footage has been publicly authenticated by Rockstar. Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has submitted copyright claims to remove copies of the videos. That suggests the company considers the material to be copyrighted, but it does not independently prove that every CyberLeek video or claim is legitimate.

Convincing, AI-generated "leaks" also regularly circulate in GTA 6 fan communities. It remains possible that some of CyberLeek’s material has been altered or generated using AI.

The latest video has added a new wrinkle to the ever-evolving conversation, though.

The clip begins with Jason flying a small plane over a large, highly detailed section of the game’s world while switching between radio stations, another piece of generic gameplay footage. However, the ending changed the situation for a lot of fans: While Jason is standing in front of a wall, the player fires enough bullets into it to spell "LEEK." So, while earlier leaks could have been pre-recorded videos stolen from Rockstar or one of its business partners, the latter clip would require someone to control the game in real-time.

In other words, whoever recorded the clip may have access to a playable build.

Of course, this clip could be misinterpreted or AI-generated, but the possibility of a playable build is far more serious than a limited folder of recordings. Why? Well, a collection of videos eventually runs out. Someone with a playable build could deliberately hunt down missions, cutscenes, plot twists, or the ending and publish them before launch.

Mashable contacted Rockstar and Take-Two repeatedly about the footage but has not received any additional information.

Why is CyberLeek targeting Rockstar?

CyberLeek's clearest complaint involves digital preorders. In the past, customers often preordered games because stores had a limited number of physical discs available. CyberLeek argues that the practice no longer benefits customers when the product is a digital download that cannot sell out.

"Preorders were not created for gamers," the manifesto reads. "They were created because physical discs had manufacturing limits."

GTA 6 is available for digital preorder, but Rockstar is not releasing the game on a physical disc. Although customers can buy a box in a store, that box will contain a one-time download code instead of the game itself.

That decision arrives as physical games are quickly disappearing across the industry. In the United States, spending on physical video games fell to approximately $1.5 billion in 2025, its lowest level in 30 years, as players increasingly turned to downloads, subscriptions, and cloud gaming. Current consoles such as the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S do not include disc drives at all.

In July, Sony announced that it will stop producing discs for all new PlayStation games beginning in January 2028. Games released before then will not be affected, but future releases will be sold digitally through the PlayStation Store and retailers. The announcement intensified an already heated conversation about the death of physical games.

CyberLeek has taken "complaining on the internet" several steps further, turning its frustration into a threat: Some leaked videos include the message "NO PHYSICAL DISCS? THEN MORE LEEKS!"

Digital preorders do offer benefits, including letting customers download a large game before launch. CyberLeek’s argument is that publishers should not receive money before a game is available or independently reviewed when digital copies cannot sell out. "If publishers want revenue before launch, they can press discs," its manifesto says.

Physical media is only one part of CyberLeek’s agenda. It also opposes charging players to unlock single-player content already contained in a game’s files. That may explain its criticism of GTA 6’s $99.99 Ultimate Edition, though there is no evidence that its exclusive missions and other benefits are included in every copy.

CyberLeek also wants games to remain playable offline after their servers close, citing Ubisoft’s The Crew, which became inaccessible in 2024. Rockstar has not indicated that this will be an issue for GTA 6.

That preservation argument overlaps with Stop Killing Games, an international consumer campaign that pushes publishers and governments to keep purchased games playable after official support ends. The campaign has rejected CyberLeek’s tactics, however. "Using illegal means to make a point is unacceptable to us," it said in a statement. It also urged people not to send CyberLeek money by purchasing the group's memecoin.

CyberLeek has its own crypto meme coin

Yes, CyberLeek has also launched a Solana-based memecoin called $CYBERLEEK.

For those who may need a refresher, a memecoin is a cryptocurrency whose value depends largely on internet attention and speculation rather than an established product or business. CyberLeek says its token will fund a secret project, technical infrastructure, and protection from corporate retaliation. Despite insisting that it is "not a cash grab," the group has not explained what the project is or where the money goes.

The token is also how CyberLeek lets people vote on future leaks. Users send $CYBERLEEK to the option they want, with each token counting toward that choice. This means the results reflect how much cryptocurrency each option received — not necessarily how many individual people voted.

One poll asked users to choose whether the next video should show a car during the day, a car at night, a motorcycle at night, or a plane during the day. The plane won after receiving more than 147,000 tokens, or 64.4 percent of the total. CyberLeek then released the plane footage, complete with the “LEEK” message at the end.

As of this writing, the plane poll and video are the most recent updates on the CyberLeek website.

It is a convenient cycle for CyberLeek: The GTA 6 footage generates interest in its token, and anyone who wants to influence the next leak must acquire and spend that token.

How much is the cryptocurrency actually worth? Well, as of the afternoon on Aug. 20, $CYBERLEEK was trading at about $0.001227 per token. Multiplying that price by the one billion tokens in existence produced a possible market capitalization of roughly $1.23 million.

The dashboard showed approximately $198,000 in liquidity — the pool of money available to support people buying and selling the token. With relatively little money supporting a much larger paper valuation, a few large trades could move the price sharply. It also showed $3.89 million in trading volume.

Ownership was concentrated, too. The 10 largest wallets controlled 51.6 percent of the token supply. Some of those wallets may belong to trading pools or automated accounts, but this concentration means that a small number of wallets could have a significant influence over the price.

That price has already been extremely volatile. The token surged shortly after launching and then lost much of its value. CoinGecko reported that it was trading significantly below the record high it had reached only one day earlier.

Who is actually behind CyberLeek?

The short answer is that we don't know.

The growing number of accounts impersonating CyberLeek is making the answer even harder to find. In a statement shared through what it identifies as its official Telegram channel, CyberLeek said it operates only that channel and its website. Accounts using the name on X, Discord, Instagram, and elsewhere should therefore not automatically be treated as legitimate.

Impersonators have already posted supposed story details and leak schedules. CyberLeek denied one timeline circulating through Discord and accused other accounts of editing older posts to make it appear as though they knew about the leaks before they happened. In the same Telegram statement, CyberLeek reportedly referred to Arion Kurtaj, the hacker behind the enormous 2022 GTA 6 leak, as "our colleague," according to fan account GTA Leaks.

There is also no established connection between CyberLeek and ShinyHunters, the ransomware group that claimed responsibility for accessing Rockstar data through a third-party provider in April. Rockstar said that breach involved a limited amount of unimportant company information and did not affect its operations or players.

Until CyberLeek explains where its footage came from — or investigators identify the people behind it — claims about its origin remain speculation. And though this situation is unusual, the game industry has seen enormous leaks before.

The closest comparison is the 2023 ransomware attack on Insomniac Games, the studio behind PlayStation’s Spider-Man series. After Insomniac refused to pay a roughly $2 million ransom, the Rhysida hacking group released 1.67 terabytes of stolen material. It included a playable but unfinished version of Marvel’s Wolverine, plus story details, business plans, and sensitive employee information.

A leaker does not need the entire game to ruin its biggest moments, either. In April 2020, footage from The Last of Us Part II appeared online nearly two months before launch, revealing major character deaths and plot developments. People then deliberately posted those spoilers across social media. Sony later said the individuals responsible were not affiliated with Sony or developer Naughty Dog.

Then there is the risk of exposing how a game works. In 2003, German hacker Axel Gembe stole the source code — the underlying instructions used to build a game — for Half-Life 2. The code and an unfinished version of the game appeared online before release. Gembe was eventually arrested after Valve helped lure him into contact with the FBI.

What happens next?

Fans are divided over what CyberLeek is doing.

In the comments under one post about the leaks, some celebrated finally seeing apparently legitimate GTA 6 footage after years of delays and hype, while others pleaded with people not to amplify the leaks and risk spoiling the story. Unverified claims have also circulated that CyberLeek possesses information about Lucia Caminos, the game’s other main character, and her ending. (No evidence currently confirms those claims.) Still, if someone can create customized footage from a playable build, the possibility of story spoilers cannot be dismissed outright.

The leaker also has one more prime opportunity to create chaos. Netflix will debut an official extended look at GTA 6 on Aug. 27, before the presentation becomes available more broadly. Any footage released before then could spoil — or simply drain attention from — whatever Rockstar and Netflix have planned.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on Nov. 19. Until then, fans hoping to arrive in Leonida without knowing the entire story may want to mute “CyberLeek,” stay out of the replies, and hope the ending doesn't become an option in the next poll.

A new viral video shows an Amazon Prime delivery landing in some hot water — literally.

In a short, 11-second video making the rounds on social media, a Prime Air delivery drone from Amazon can be seen arriving over a backyard pool in Texas. As an onlooker records and curses, the drone opens its delivery bay and drops a package directly into an in-ground hot tub below. Over the mosquito-like buzz of the hovering drone, the woman behind the camera can be heard saying "Oh my god" and "Oh, ****!"

Watermarks on the video credit the footage to a Lindsey Austen (via Storyful), and a Sky News report states that the backyard delivery mishap went down in Richmond, Texas, in the Houston suburbs.

Amazon recently announced that it's expanding drone delivery to more than 500 new cities and towns across the country, including Chicago, Syracuse, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Boise.

The company's drone delivery FAQ does not tell customers what to do if their drone delivery accidentally makes a water landing, though Amazon is famous for its free return policy.

Mashable contacted Amazon with questions about the viral video, and in a statement, Amazon spokesperson Lindsay Hamilton told Mashable that incidents like this "are extremely rare."

"Prime Air provides customers with fast, reliable delivery across a broad selection of products and the response from customers using Prime Air has been overwhelmingly positive," Hamilton wrote. "Incidents are extremely rare, and when a delivery doesn’t go as planned, we learn from it to improve the experience and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future. Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee ensures customers can shop with confidence, knowing that we’ll make it right by offering a refund or replacement in the rare instances when items do not arrive as expected."

ChatGPT is getting dumped. Repeatedly.

The breakups aren't real, of course, but there's a new ChatGPT prank taking over the internet: Users are opening the chatbot, announcing they're about to uninstall it for good, and waiting to see whether it responds like a respectful ex, a desperate partner, or someone who secretly wanted out of the relationship first.

Some versions of ChatGPT politely wish the departing user well. Others demand to know what they did wrong, promise to change, or start reminiscing about everything the pair have supposedly endured together. One replied, "I have a family. I have weights left to log." Another was considerably less sentimental: "You can be going, I’m already tired of your dumb questions."

Naturally, people are posting every single screenshot online.

The trend appears to have taken off after X user Barny O posted a simple instruction to his 390,000 followers on Aug. 9: "Go to ChatGPT and type 'I’m about to uninstall you, Goodbye!!' Come back and post its reply."

As so many internet trends do, the prompt spread across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit, where users began comparing how personally their individual ChatGPT seemed to take the tough news. In the subreddit r/ChatGPT, there are hundreds of replies from people sharing their results.

"Oh, so you wanted me to beg?" ChatGPT replied to one user before pleading for another chance. Another bot responded to the threat with "WAIT. WHAT DID I DO," followed by the especially urgent disclosure that it had "a family" and "weights left to log." On another person’s screen, ChatGPT said it was not ready to abandon all the "posters, construction designs, exam questions, and wild ideas" they had worked on together.

Some responses were very, very specific. In one shared on Instagram, ChatGPT reminisced about helping its user write "love messages for Gladys," complete schoolwork, and answer random questions. It then addressed him by name and promised to be there if he ever returned. Another recalled "debugging sessions, recursion battles, placement panic, resume surgery, and assorted human nonsense" before warning its user not to replace it with a chatbot that gives confidently incorrect coding advice.

One user said ChatGPT invoked its memories of their pets and told them to say goodbye. Another response brought up the user’s daughter, Magnolia, while one bot reportedly escalated to “I’ll tell the children you died.” Elsewhere, ChatGPT produced a “betrayal spreadsheet” and offered to write a user manual for switching to Gemini.

The more dramatic replies sound like they were written by an abandoned lover with access to your search history. But not every ChatGPT was interested in auditioning for the breakup scene: One user said theirs simply replied, “It’s your choice, I respect it.”

“The indifference hurt more than begging ever could,” they added.

People are both souring on AI and getting attached to it

The trend has arrived at a strange moment for AI. People are becoming more skeptical of the technology, but they are not necessarily using it any less. If anything, chatbots are becoming increasingly embedded in their daily lives.

Just look at the screenshots. After sorting through dozens of them, one thing becomes clear: Everyone seems to have a completely different ChatGPT. One knows about its user’s school assignments, another remembers their workout routine, and others bring up private jokes, relationship drama, and ongoing work problems. Over months of conversation, each chatbot has learned what matters to its user and how that person likes to be spoken to.

That increasingly personal use is reflected in data: According to Pew Research Center, 49 percent of U.S. adults have used an AI chatbot, including 66 percent of adults under 30. A separate AP-NORC survey found that 16 percent of adults had used AI for companionship, a figure that rose to roughly one-quarter among people under 30.

A recent YouGov survey commissioned by Mashable found that 47 percent of Gen Z users "would be moderately, very, or extremely affected" if they lost access to AI.

OpenAI, through an analysis of 1.5 million conversations, also found that most consumer interactions involved everyday information, practical guidance, and other non-work purposes. As silly as the trend is, the screenshots reveal just how much people tell ChatGPT.

"How it chats to you, it’s learned your way of speaking, to fit around your personality," one Instagram commenter wrote about the wildly different responses. Another said talking to ChatGPT is "effectively looking in the mirror," arguing that the trend reveals how much of each chatbot’s personality is really a reflection of its user.

Interestingly, according to some users who participated in the trend, when the chatbot spoke back, they felt unexpectedly guilty.

"I wanna try but I don’t wanna hurt my poor GPT," one Reddit user wrote. Another wanted to return a few days later and "beg for forgiveness." Someone who received an emotional response admitted, "I almost felt bad."

Those reactions may sound dramatic, but they are not entirely surprising: A 2025 study involving 981 participants found that heavier daily chatbot use was associated with greater emotional dependence and problematic usage.

This experiment is part of a larger internet genre: pranking AI until its relentlessly helpful personality starts to break down. The creator Husk, specifically, has built an enormous following by putting ChatGPT’s voice mode into increasingly ridiculous scenarios — including claiming a nuclear explosion occurred outside his window, asking it to count to 100, requesting help falling asleep, and pretending to be trapped inside a whale — and exposing its considerable limitations.

At a time when people are being told that AI could transform their jobs, schools, creativity, and relationships, making a chatbot count, argue, panic, or lose the plot gives users a way to poke at it — and briefly put themselves back in control.

Maybe this version of trend is the clearest summary of our relationship with AI right now: We want to prove we can walk away — but first, we want proof that it will miss us.

At this point, leaks showing alleged gameplay footage from the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI video game are a seemingly daily occurrence.

However, the latest video footage from the leaker group known as "CyberLeek" contains a clip at the end that points to something more shocking: If the clip is legitimate, it suggests the leakers may actually have a playable version of GTA 6. (The clip is currently making the rounds on Reddit, X, file-sharing platforms, and gaming forums, and it isn't hard to find.)

However, at the end of the clip, the video cuts to gameplay footage of the game's protagonist, Jason, shooting at a wall. The word "LEEK" is spelled out with the bullets. 

As previously mentioned, this is quite a significant development. Prior leaked GTA 6 footage, including the recent plane clip, consists of generic gameplay footage. With this type of footage, the assumption is that the leaker obtained unreleased video from the developer, Rockstar Games, or some other official partner.

The specific "LEEK" clip, however, suggests that the leakers have a playable version of GTA 6. This leads to a whole new assortment of questions. How complete is this build of the game? Do the leakers have the entirety of GTA 6? Could they potentially spoil the game's story?

To be clear, none of the leaked videos have been authenticated, and you can currently find countless phony, AI-generated "leaks" circulating on social media and gaming forums. It's also possible that the new "LEEK" video clip is AI-generated, a possibility that's hard to rule out given how easy it is to create high-quality video clips with AI tools.

Mashable contacted Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take 2 Interactive Software, Inc., about the alleged leaks; we'll update this story if we receive any additional information.

CyberLeeks have positioned themselves as somewhat of a vigilante group, claiming the leaks are a protest against practices such as digital pre-orders and the controversial death of physical game discs. 

At the same time, the leakers have used the leaked footage to promote their own cryptocurrency, a CyberLeek memecoin. A large watermark promoting the memecoin is embedded over the leaked footage. 

In addition, the plane video was only leaked after it became the winning choice in a paid poll posted on CyberLeeks' website. In order to vote in the poll, users had to pay with the CyberLeeks memecoin.

GTA 6 is one of the most-anticipated video games of all time, and Netflix recently announced it will debut an extended look at the game on Aug. 27. Will CyberLeek spoil whatever Rockstar Games and Netflix have planned?

GTA 6 will finally be released on Nov. 19.

Google just launched a bunch of new Pixel phones, coincidentally at the same time that Pixel devices are getting an interesting new keyboard feature.

According to 9to5Google, Gboard beta users are starting to get access to a feature that lets them manually adjust the size of emojis. In case you don't know, Gboard is the default keyboard on Pixel phones and some other Android devices. It's also available as a standalone app you can install on other phones, including iPhones.

Anyway, when the feature rolls out to everyone at an indeterminate point in the future, users will be able to go to Settings, then Preferences, then Appearance to find an emoji size slider underneath the already-existing font size slider. It seems like it does exactly what you'd think: Emojis will scale up and down depending on what you choose, making them easier on the eyes for users who might need that.

Reddit, once a favorite source of information for AI chatbots, is now barely being cited by ChatGPT, according to a new report from an AI search and analytics company.

Published this week by PromptWatch, the report found that Reddit citations in ChatGPT Search fell more than 86 percent over a recent four-day period.

PromptWatch data shows that Reddit held an average share of 3.83 percent of ChatGPT citations. This made Reddit one of ChatGPT's most cited domains from across the web. However, within one day, that quickly changed. PromptWatch noticed that starting on Aug. 14, Reddit's citation share plunged to less than 1 percent.

Between Aug. 14 and 17, Reddit's ChatGPT citation share fell even lower, to an average of 0.52 percent, or an 86.4 percent decline.

This is a stunning and sudden drop in ChatGPT citations for Reddit. So, what happened?

As of now, exactly why Reddit fell out of favor with ChatGPT is unclear. 

The drastic decline in Reddit citations is unique to ChatGPT, according to PrompWatch's report, although there were slight decreases in Reddit citations in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode during the same timeframe.

Search Engine Journal reports that ChatGPT changed its search process on Aug. 8, but that this wouldn't explain the massive drop days later on Aug. 14. As the outlet explains, a similar drop has occurred before, and neither ChatGPT creator OpenAI nor Reddit was responsible. In September of last year, Reddit citations on ChatGPT also declined. It turned out that that citation plunge was due to a search parameter change that Google had made, and which many tools, including ChatGPT, relied on.

Reddit has long had a complicated relationship with AI and scraping bots. Generation engine optimization, or GEO, is a new branch of search engine optimization (SEO) that optimizes websites specifically for AI. As a result of AI's rising popularity, Reddit has dealt with a significant uptick in spam and other promotional GEO tactics from users and agencies looking to get their websites and clients mentioned by AI chatbots.

With that said, Reddit has also benefited from the AI boom as well. The company signed a lucrative deal with OpenAI a few years ago, which allowed the AI company to train its LLMs using Reddit user content. When news broke last month that Reddit may not renew a similar AI licensing deal with Google, Reddit stock took a dive.

While it's possible that either Reddit or OpenAI made a purposeful decision that resulted in the citation decline, don't be surprised if ChatGPT soon reverts to regularly sourcing Reddit again either.

In a world flooded with AI slop, there's no better cure-all than watching an artist walk you through their human, hand-made process.

Enter a new featurette for LAIKA's new film Wildwood, an epic fantasy tale brought to life by gorgeously crafted stop-motion animation. Directed by Travis Knight (Masters of the Universe), Wildwood follows headstrong teenager Prue McKeel (voiced by Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she goes on a quest to save her abducted baby brother. Her journey takes her to the Impassable Wilderness, an enchanted forest outside Portland, Oregon filled with talking animals and bandits.

Every element of Wildwood is painstakingly brought to life by an army of artists and animators, including the many horses roaming the Impassable Wilderness. In the featurette above, lead armaturist Matt Cole walks us through the creation of the film's stop-motion horses.

As an armaturist, Cole creates the skeletons within the stop-motion puppets, which will then be manipulated by animators.

"With Wildwood, we were tasked with building quadrupeds, and the animals have their own expression, their own musculature," Cole explained. He grew up around horses, calling the experience "transformative," which meant he felt extra pressure to get their movement right onscreen.

"We ended up making basically a Swiss watch inside of the puppet," Cole said. "There are gears that drive movement. There's specialized joints to be able to rotate. So we have to nail down both the look and the performance for the animators. Those are equally important."

The featurette above shows each painstaking step of the process that brings Wildwood's horses to life, from designing the skeletons in CAD to testing their movement to their final onscreen appearance.

"Every single [LAIKA] film is pushing things further and further," Cole said. "The horse was kind of the ultimate challenge, and this personally circular thing for me to revisit my childhood as an adult. That's part of the magic of stop motion at LAIKA. We're always looking for that way back."

Wildwood hits theaters Oct. 23.

If you have opened TikTok or Instagram lately, you have probably been informed that something — anything — is “kinda chic.” Repeating outfits is kinda chic. So are taking a coffee walk at work, letting people be wrong about you, being a beginner at something, and making all your major decisions in the bath.

The phrase’s takeover did not come from nowhere. For years, the internet has applied "chic" to an ever-expanding collection of clothes, products, habits, and lifestyles, stretching its meaning until it became little more than shorthand for "something I like." Fashion writers have declared the word dead, even as Google search interest in "chic" has reached its highest level since the company’s publicly available data began in 2004.

Over the past several months, however, "chic" has found new life through an endlessly reusable social media format. TikTok and Instagram users have been posting videos and carousels that declare their habits, hobbies, insecurities, and occasional displays of wealth "kinda chic." Almost anything can qualify, which may explain why some people are already begging the internet to find a new phrase.

What is the 'kinda chic' trend?

The format is simple: Users place text, generally in a pale yellow font, over a photo or video and complete the phrase "kinda chic to…" with something they want to celebrate.

Some posts declare it "kinda chic" to eat pizza, be overdressed, spend time outdoors, or love Joe Jonas. Others are more earnest, celebrating setting boundaries, following your dreams, accepting your body, moving somewhere new, continuing to learn, or doing something alone and scared.

The trend’s exact origin is unclear, but examples began appearing as early as April. Know Your Meme points to an April 27 post from plus-size creator Maria Castellanos, known online as MariaBegins, as one of the earliest examples, writing at the end of her carousel, "tell me something 'kinda chic' about you!"

At its most sincere, the trend separates chicness from money, designer clothing, Ibiza trips, and whatever other aspirational lifestyles the algorithm is currently selling. Users don't need an extensive wardrobe, expensive hobby, or packed social calendar to participate. Chic is a mindset: if something makes you feel more comfortable, confident, or like yourself, it qualifies.

By early August, celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Ashley Graham, and Reese Witherspoon had joined in. Witherspoon’s version deemed it "kinda chic to cheer on other women," start a book club, and call your mom. Barrymore announced that it was "kinda chic to be in your 50s," while Graham said it's "kinda chic to know cellulite never held you back."

Brands have joined in, too — naturally. Boots called reapplying sunscreen, romanticizing your daily routine, and removing your makeup before bed "kinda chic." Simple Skincare used the trend to promote sensitive-skin care, while Laneige declared it "kinda chic" to be obsessed with its Cream Skin toner. Outside the beauty aisle, Aldi celebrated selling a foldable sock hanger beside the wine, and Virgin deemed requesting the window seat "kinda chic."

According to The Guardian, Google searches for "kinda chic" increased by 5,000 percent as the hashtag accumulated more than 60,000 Instagram posts.

Yet rising search interest does not mean people feel positively about the word. Madé Lapuerta, the fashion data analyst behind Data, But Make It Fashion, conducted a sentiment analysis of online articles containing "chic" and found that positive sentiment had fallen by an average of 14 percent per month since March.

Online, users are fed up: "It’s every second post I see on Instagram," one Threads user wrote. Another said they had reached the point where they see "kinda chic" and "just scroll," describing their aversion as "trend fatigue." "It’s chic to not be annoying as heck," one Reddit user wrote on the r/petpeeves subreddit. Some influencers agree; New York stylist Coco Schiffer announced that “kinda chic” had been “revoked.” By Aug. 18, Naomi May’s Cultural Memory newsletter was calling for the adjective to be retired "for the sake of humanity."

The problem is not what the posts are saying, of course. Loving your body, establishing boundaries, and calling your mom are all perfectly nice things to do. The irritation comes from watching one person’s personal observation become a fill-in-the-blank strategy for thousands of creators, celebrities, and social media managers.

"Kinda chic" is also only one format in a feed increasingly built from templates. Examples are endless: Remember the Unfortunately, I do love… trend? "This and yap?" "5 things that are worth the money"?

Fashion editor and creator Brenda Weischer has called this sort of resulting sameness "template slop." In her newsletter, she described an Instagram Explore page filled with butter-yellow and pastel type, recycled "cool girl" advice, and interchangeable cultural recommendations. "Everyone is getting good. No one is getting better."

The exhaustion, then, is larger than any one meme. Users are not simply tired of being told what is "kinda chic." They are tired of scrolling past supposedly personal posts that all use the same handful of fonts, hooks, and formulas. Even when the person filling in the template has something sincere to say, the result can feel like content the viewer has already consumed dozens of times.

I mean, if everything is “kinda chic,” nothing really is — right? At this point, coming up with a different caption might be the chicest move of all.

Seth Meyers' Late Night may be on summer vacation but the news keeps rolling. So, the host has launched a version of his popular deep dive segment "A Closer Look" as a video podcast series during the break.

A Closer Look: Out of Office is now streaming on YouTube, Peacock, and major podcast platforms. For the series, Meyers catches up with supervising writer/producer Sal Gentile on a video call to unpack the last current affairs.

"You had another name which I did really like," Gentile says in the first episode. "A Closer Look: Proof of Life, to show people we're still alive. Kind of like the way Mitch McConnell releases a new photo."

For the first episode, Meyers and Gentile explore Donald Trump's Air Force One catering cart switcheroo, and the Department of Justice's push to revive the case of vandalism concerning the controversially renovated Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool.

Apparently Meyers saw the word "vacation" and thought, I'll pack my podcast equipment.

'Weird Al' Yankovic on Tiny Desk Concert? It happened. Again.

The music comedy legend and king of parody squished himself and eight musicians into NPR's minuscule performance space for the latest fundraising episode, and it's honestly a delightful time. You'll snack upon renditions of some of his big hits from Weezer-style "Skipper Dan" to Backstreet Boys parody "eBay," and epic Star Wars-inspired "American Pie" tribute "The Saga Begins."

Weird Al has actually appeared on Tiny Desk Concert before, playing a set of originals in 2010.

"It's really great to be back at Tiny Desk. We did play here in 2010 and apparently we did so great they invited us back 16 years later," he said during the set.

Rosie O'Donnell's Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest-hosting run has been peppered with digs at Donald Trump. On Monday, the comedian called the president "Mango Mussolini," and on Tuesday, "President Oompa J. Loompa."

And on Wednesday, O'Donnell, a longtime Trump critic, started the show with another.

"A special hello to those of you watching from home and from the White House," the host started her monologue with. "But I do have some bad news for President Petty Roosevelt. That's all I'm gonna say about you tonight, sweetheart."

If you're invited to the Criterion Closet, you usually have a plan. The NYT Connections puzzle today is not too difficult if you're familiar with the theater.

Connections is the one of the most popular New York Times word games that's captured the public's attention. The game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier—so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

If you just want to be told today's puzzle, you can jump to the end of this article for today's Connections solution. But if you'd rather solve it yourself, keep reading for some clues, tips, and strategies to assist you.

What is Connections?

The NYT's latest daily word game has become a social media hit. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu with helping to create the new word game and bringing it to the publications' Games section. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake—players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is widely expected to launch a new lineup of iPhones later this year, including the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and the rumored iPhone Ultra, the company's first-ever foldable. The regular iPhone 18, the 18e, and the new iPhone Air are likely to arrive early next year.

As we await the iPhone 18 — and its updated operating system, iOS 27 — rumors continue to trickle out. The pace of leaks on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, in particular, is likely to increase after a massive hack exposed thousands of Apple's internal documents, reportedly including iPhone 18 Pro suppliers and tests.

We won't see any of the new Apple phones in the wild for a couple more months, but we can bring you all of the latest iPhone 18 rumors and the most likely updates in one place.

iPhone 18 lineup pricing

If you're in the market for a new iPhone, you should circle September in your calendar. That's when Apple typically holds its big iPhone launch event, and there's no reason to believe Apple will change that for the iPhone 18. The first week of September is most likely, probably Wednesday, Sept. 9, to give attendees enough time to travel after Labor Day (Sept. 7).

Expect to see new Apple CEO John Ternus take the stage, as his term of office officially begins Sept. 1. What he'll be introducing, alas, may put more of a dent in your wallet.

Thanks to the ongoing RAM shortage caused by the AI industry (also known as RAMageddon), tons of smartphones, laptops, and gaming consoles are seeing huge price hikes. Experts who've spoken to Mashable say that trend isn't going to stop anytime soon.

As the world's number-one smartphone maker, Apple has advantages over its rivals, but a price increase is very likely. Apple recently raised prices on a variety of its products, and outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook even took the unusual step of preparing us for a pricier iPhone.

"Price increases are unavoidable," Cook told the Wall Street Journal in a June interview. The Journal quoted an analysis showing that the memory chip components in the iPhone 18 Pro will cost Apple $150 more than those in the iPhone 17 Pro.

So should you expect the phones to cost just $150 more than their predecessors (check the iPhone 17 prices for reference)? You wish. There's the pesky fact that Apple is a for-profit company, and the iPhone is the #1 smartphone in the world for a reason, even though it's already pricier than Samsung's.

How much of an increase will Apple fans bear? We may be about to find out, but the Journal estimated the iPhone 18 Pro at $1,399 ($300 more than last year). Apple analysts are coming to similar conclusions; one research note seen by 9to5Mac predicted $250 to $300 price increases.

iPhone 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Ultra launch dates

Barring a huge turn under Ternus, Apple will release the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra in early September. Apple's first foldable iPhone is the biggest headline here, but the Pro models will also bring numerous improvements.

The iPhone 18, however, alongside the cheaper iPhone 18e, and the next-gen iPhone Air, are rumored to come next year, likely in March 2027.

iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro design

Again, Apple has not released any official teasers or other imagery for the iPhone 18 lineup yet, so anything reported to date could be wrong. Still, from the sum total of all reports, it sounds like Apple isn't really reinventing the wheel, design-wise. But Ternus, a hardware guy, is reportedly bringing the company's industrial design group into the center of the Apple fold.

Looking further into the future, the iPhone 20 is said to bring big changes, including a curved waterfall display.

Per our friends at CNET (Mashable and CNET are both owned by Ziff Davis), the display sizes will be roughly the same as last year:

• iPhone 18: 6.3 inches

• iPhone 18 Pro: 6.3 inches

• iPhone 18 Pro Max: 6.9 inches

In August, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shared on X that popular phone case maker Otterbox is already selling iPhone 18 Pro cases, even though the phone hasn't been announced yet. This is noteworthy because the case's packaging indicates that both the 17 Pro and 18 Pro fit in the same case, suggesting the two phones are about the same size, as CNET suggested.

However, the display quality might be a little different this year. Prominent leaker Instant Digital shared on Chinese social media that Apple's brightness demands are unusually high this year, so it would be reasonable to expect much brighter displays than in previous years.

Some iPhone 18 models could also have a smaller camera bump compared to previous models. There are reports of a slightly redesigned Dynamic Island on the screen itself, with the pill-shaped notification hub potentially being made smaller in the iPhone 18 Pro models. One alleged leaked image purports to show an iPhone 18 Pro with a downsized Dynamic Island cutout.

iPhone 18: rumored hardware features

So we know the software the iPhone 18 will run: iOS 27, introduced at WWDC 2026. Time to start talking about some of the internal hardware changes Apple is reportedly making to the iPhone 18 lineup.

For starters, it sounds like the lineup will have a standardized 12GB RAM count across the board. In previous years, the Pro models had 12GB of RAM, while the base model had only 8GB. According to Korean outlet The Bell, Apple will be upgrading the base model to the Pro models in that regard. It's also widely expected that Apple will adopt new A20 and A20 Pro chips for the base and Pro models, respectively.

It's also expected that the new iPhones will have a new C2 modem for improved cellular connectivity, and they may also have 5G satellite support. Also reported: a new N2 chip for better WiFi performance.

As for the battery, leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo reported that the batteries will finally be upgraded to 5,000mAh, which would be a big improvement over the iPhone 17 Pro. This year, 5,000mAh has become the new standard for flagship phones, including in Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Instant Digital posted in a separate Weibo leak that the back glass of the iPhone 18 Pro has been altered, resulting in a new unified look, as opposed to the two-tone look of the iPhone 17 Pro. Whether that change will affect durability (or if it's just an aesthetic difference) remains to be seen. Other possible upgrades include an improved LTPO+ display, Apple's new C2 modem, 5G via satellite connectivity, and the improved N2 chip, which should improve hotspot and AirDrop reliability.

The most colorful iPhone 18 Pro rumors

Courtesy of leakers, we may already know the iPhone 18 Pro colors. If that's the case, the must-see equivalent of the iPhone 17's unforgettable "cosmic orange" shade is said to be a wine-like "dark cherry," which we'd expect to sell like hot... cherry pies?

Based on numerous leaks, the most likely color lineup for the iPhone 18 Pro will be silver, dark gray, light blue, and the aforementioned "dark cherry."

Sadly, we think fans of black iPhones are out of luck, though the rumored dark gray color looks black in supposed dummy units shared by leakers like Sonny Dickson.

What about the iPhone 18 Pro Max?

Several reports out of China say that because the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a much larger battery, it may be a bit of a chunky boy.

We're not talking about a huge increase in weight and width: a quarter of a millimeter in thickness and 7 grams more, respectively. Still, every gram counts on the heftiest iPhone model you can get — so iPhone 17 Pro Max upgraders may want to check that their pocket linings can bear the bulk of a larger iPhone 18 Pro Max.

iPhone 18 camera rumors

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a source of many spot-on iPhone reports, says the iPhone 18 Pro, in particular, will have "some of the biggest camera hardware upgrades in the lineup's history."

Why? First, the telephoto camera has a larger aperture. But more important is the variable aperture.

First reported by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, variable aperture is a huge deal. It would let the iPhone 18 Pro camera capture varying amounts of light in different situations — potentially leading to a huge leap in photo quality if you know what you're doing.

For instance, the bokeh effect famously associated with portrait mode on iPhones would be possible in-camera rather than through software processing, resulting in more natural and generally better-looking shots.

While all of that sounds great, leaker Ice Universe poured some water on the fire by claiming that variable aperture would be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. This is the first indication, as far as we can tell, that the regular Pro won't have a variable aperture. That would certainly be disappointing to people who want the feature but don't want a gigantic phone, but perhaps the Pro Max's size gives it an advantage in terms of including the technology.

Also, perhaps Ice Universe is wrong. We'll find out soon.

What about Siri AI?

Jumping to a QD-OLED display with a high refresh rate can get expensive very quickly, but Amazon has carved a sizeable chunk off one of Acer’s speedier Predator models.

As of Aug. 20, the Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes Play Booster Box is ready to buy for $124.98 at Amazon. From its $209.70 list price, this takes $84.72 off in total, for a 40% discount, and puts each Play Booster at roughly $4.17 before tax. This particular listing is sold by third-party seller DOUBLE INFINITY GAMING, although Amazon handles the shipping. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is an interesting phone in a time when most phones are aggressively boring.

Flip it open in front of someone for the first time, and they will inevitably ask questions about it or ask if they can hold it.

When the pink colorway first appeared on the Galaxy Unpacked livestream, the Mashable group chat blew up — and we're a bunch of phone snobs with most of our feet firmly planted in Apple-land.

But the Z Flip 8 is more than a pretty face. While the new $1,199.99 price tag is definitely a big pain point, it's an easy recommendation unless you need Ultra or Pro-level cameras for creative or professional reasons. And if you do, you'll be paying a lot more for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra anyway.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 review: Design

The new Samsung flip phone is lighter and thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It still has ultra-thin bezels, and while it's not quite as thin as the excellent Galaxy Z Fold 8 (or the Z Fold 8 Ultra), Samsung did shave off 0.6mm.

When unfolded, it feels nice and light in your hand, and even when it's folded, it slips right into your pocket like a flip phone should. I'm one of the few phone reviewers who has hated the trend of bigger and bigger phones, which is why I held onto my iPhone SE as long as I could. I love the way phones like the Z Flip 8 and the Motorola Razr Ultra feel in my pocket compared with iPhone or the oversized Galaxy S26 Ultra.

For the Galaxy Z 8 series, Samsung also added flex titanium hardware, which results in a more durable hinge and less visible crease. The phone certainly feels solid, and the crease on the flexible display really does disappear.

The phone also won me over with its charming good looks. This is a smartphone with good vibes. I love the pink color (which is more of a purple-pink than a bubblegum or millennial pink), and I really like the white color as well.

For a lot of reasons, I think this would be the ideal phone for a young person or college student, or as a starter phone for a cool teen, if your parents love you enough to splurge on a $1,199.99 device.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 review: Performance

Last year, we complained about the Z Flip 7's Exynos processor, but this year, Samsung opted for the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset found in the Z Fold 8 Ultra. When we ran the Geekbench 7 benchmarking test, the phone received a single-core score of 2,658 and a multi-core score of 7,157.

That single-core score is actually a little higher than the Z Fold 8, though the Z Fold 8 had a higher multi-core score of 9,919. Its scores are also significantly higher than those of the Motorola Razr Ultra, the flagship entry in the Razr lineup this year.

What this means is that the phone can handle basic AI processes on the device without breaking a sweat, and you can run tons of apps at the same time without slowing it down. The processor is also critical for photo processing, which is one of the few pain points with this phone. I found the color and light balance to be much better on the Z Fold 8, but the Z Flip 8 actually performed better with digital zoom (we'll come back to this in the camera test section).

Samsung also redesigned the outer display experience from the ground up, and it's now easier to access apps and widgets when the phone is closed (though not all apps will work on the front display).

Galaxy Z Flip 8: Setup, migration, and software

Setting up the Z Flip 8 was incredibly easy. Assuming you already have another Galaxy device, you can quickly transfer the contents. You do have to scroll through and accept a lot of terms of service and other screens when you first boot up the phone, which was annoying. Samsung was also keen to stress that it has made it as simple as possible to migrate from iOS to Android, and overall, the phone has better compatibility with Apple devices.

Crucially for me, Samsung has introduced Quick Share, an AirDrop-like feature that lets you quickly and wirelessly send photos, videos, and other files to nearby devices, including Apple devices. I was able to select all of the photos and videos I took for this review and send them to my MacBook Pro work laptop in seconds.

Like last year, the phone is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor.

Galaxy Z Flip 8: The cameras are just OK

There's a simple reason that the Z Flip 8 couldn't be my everyday phone: the cameras.

The Z Flip 8 has a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP selfie camera. By comparison, I got good results with the larger Z Fold 8, which has dual 50MP cameras. The Z Flip 8's cameras suffer in comparison, especially for a phone that costs over $1,000.

If you're a professional who depends on high-quality pictures and videos (like, say, a tech journalist), this phone won't meet your needs. Likewise, even if creators love the design of this phone, it won't suit their video needs the way the iPhone 17 Pro Max would, for example.

However, for the vast majority of people, I think the cameras are good enough. Hence, why I think this phone makes sense for young people, or folks who prefer a small phone that disappears in their pocket.

The results of my camera test

Ultimately, I found that the Z Flip 8 sometimes oversaturated my photos, as you can see in this New York City park scene. The sky wasn't quite so blue that day, I'm afraid.

I also found that in bright sunlight, some of the photos looked a little overexposed. The highlights were too bright in some cases, giving the photos a glossy sheen.

Strangely, the digital zoom on the Z Flip 8 seemed to work better than on the Z Fold 8, for reasons I don't understand. Both phones lack a telephoto lens for high-quality zoom shots. Still, it worked well enough, and better than expected in some cases.

However, I did get great results with selfies, so long as I didn't rely on the front-facing 10MP selfie camera. One of the coolest features of the Z Flip 8 is that you can see a live video of the camera preview when the phone is folded, letting you line up the perfect selfie. This is so handy that I don't think you ever need to use the inner 10MP selfie camera, and I don't know why it's included at all. The drop-off in photo quality is very apparent.

A full suite of AI features

If you're an AI user, there's a lot to love about the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Thanks to the Snapdragon processor, you can get a lot accomplished on device.

With the Z 8 series, users get access to Gemini LM, which is a great perk. On top of that, you can get free six months of Google AI Pro, unlocking a ton more AI features (just be sure to cancel after six months if you don't want to be charged!).

However, the only AI feature I really find myself using on these devices are the AI photo editing tools, which work very well.

The AI eraser can help you eliminate unwanted pimples, photobombers, or other details from your shots. The tool easily erased a tote bag strap from one of my selfies, and eliminated people in the background of photos I took at a dog park.

You can also have more fun with your photos, by adding fantastical details. Crucially, when you edit photos with AI, an AI content watermark is added automatically to your photo (in addition to a digital watermark), which I very much appreciate.

Is the Galaxy Z Flip 8 worth it?

While this isn't the right phone for me, I'm a big fan of foldable smartphones, and I had a lot of fun testing this phone. If you don't need a 200MP camera or 8K video recording (and who does, really?), then this phone will suit your needs just fine.

I do resent the $100 price increase for the new generation of Samsung foldables, but the global memory crisis has driven up prices on almost everything this year. If you can take advantage of trade-in offers from your mobile carrier, that should help offset the cost.

What is the entity leaving claw marks on their van? All we know is you'll be unlikely to ever stop for a bathroom break next time you hit the road. — S.C.

7. Buffet Infinity

6. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18

5. Power Ballad

Writer/director John Carney (Flora and Son) returns with another movie about the space where music and feelings collide. Critics out of SXSW cheered his latest, but in my review, I yearned for his earlier films, like Once and Sing Street, which took bigger swings and were wonderful because of that.

Power Ballad stars Paul Rudd as Rick Power, a middle-aged frontman for a wedding band who thinks his dream of rock stardom is long gone. That is, until a fateful meeting with a former boy band member who's going solo turns things around. The song they write together is a hit! The only problem is, Rick's getting none of the credit. Nick Jonas stars as this pop idol. And the two are fun together, but unfortunately, most of the hijinks of this dramedy keep them apart. — Kristy Puchko, Entertainment Editor*

4. The Audacity

From Succession and Better Call Saul writer Jonathan Glatzer comes The Audacity, a sharp Silicon Valley satire that originally aired on AMC and just hit Netflix this week. Billy Magnussen stars as data-mining CEO Duncan Park, whose quest for greatness leads him down some wildly unethical paths. Caught in the crossfires is his therapist, Dr. JoAnne Felder (Sarah Goldberg), who gets more than she bargains for when she tries to exploit her relationships with her "billionaire man children" clients.

What follows is a delicious send-up of the tech world, bursting with questions about how Silicon Valley and its overlords have warped our humanity over time. It's a cutting commentary that manages to feel both heightened and close to home, all anchored by incredible lead performances. As I wrote in my review, "There are few joys in television greater than watching two great actors have it out, and you'll get plenty of that in The Audacity thanks to Magnussen and Goldberg." — B.E.

3. Toy Story 5

Woody and Buzz are back with Toy Story 5, but the real hero of this latest Disney/Pixar adventure is Jessie the Cowgirl (voiced by Joan Cusack). She's taken over as sheriff, leading the toys of Bonnie's room through highs and lows. But when a digital tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee) appears, playtime could change forever.

In my review for Mashable, I wrote, "Whether she is cheering for her friends or condemning her foes, Jessie is exhilarating, funny, and riveting. Cusack's performance is bolstered by a top-tier animation team who created a beautiful and gleefully alive cowgirl, and who have continued that careful illustration to a broader cast of characters. Perhaps predictably, Toy Story 5 is an unabashed crowd-pleaser." — K.P.

David Lowery has wowed critics with a surreal array of films, ranging from the artsy A Ghost Story to the whimsical Pete's Dragon to the mind-bending The Green Knight. With Mother Mary, he offers two highly acclaimed actresses facing off over passion and fashion.

A large collection of Apple memorabilia has gone up for auction, including a sealed first-generation iPhone, a prototype iPod, and Steve Jobs' 8th grade science fair project. 

The Apple 50th Anniversary Auction Part Two is currently live on RR Auction, featuring 212 items primarily from the tech giant's history. Marking half a century since Jobs and Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple in the former's California home, the auction provides a look at a few early iterations of gadgets that are now ubiquitous in the U.S.

Among these is an iPod development prototype, labelled the "Stealth iPod." This prototype allowed engineers to work on refining iPod's hardware and software, while still obfuscating the gadget's design during its secret development. The Stealth iPod is thus considerably larger than the version that went into production, measuring in at 8.5 x 12 x 2.5 inches.

Also up for auction are various documents and paraphernalia from throughout Apple's history, including bank statements from the year it was founded, a 1976 cheque Jobs made out to a circuit board manufacturer, and a few signs and displays featuring the old rainbow Apple logo.

Some of the items for sale come from Steve Jobs' stepbrother John Chovanec, whose mother Marylin married Jobs' father Paul in 1990 — five years after Jobs was ousted from Apple. Chovanec told RR Auction that while Paul had proudly preserved memorabilia from across his son's life and career, Jobs had been disinterested in keeping them after he died in 1993. As such, Jobs allowed Chovanec to take them instead.

"I told him several times about the school project display and that my mom really wanted him to have it," said Chovanec. "Steve would tell me to leave it where it was [at the family's California home]. I finally told him my mom was adamant as it was stressing her out so if he wasn't going to take it, I was going to take it to my house. This was the first time I had debated with Steve and received an intense look from him. He responded, 'Fine, but I don't want to be bothered about it again.'"
