In his newest project, Big Mistakes, Dan Levy and co-creator Rachel Sennott turn the tables on that redemptive arc, delivering a much darker tale of a family that's just beginning its own downward spiral.

What's Big Mistakes about?

The family in question is the New Jersey-based Morellis. Mother and hardware store owner Linda (Laurie Metcalf) is preparing to run for mayor of their small town, with the help of her peppy, annoyingly put-together daughter Natalie (Abby Quinn). Her other two children are... messier. Pastor Nicky (Levy) is hiding his boyfriend Tareq (Jacob Gutierrez) from his congregation, and school teacher Morgan (Taylor Ortega) has grown tired of her long-term relationship with high school sweetheart Max (Jack Innanen).

Their romantic lives are about to be the least of their concerns, though. When Morgan steals a necklace for their dying nonna (Judith Roberts), she lands the pair in the service of a local crime lord. Soon, Nicky and Morgan are running illicit errands for a criminal syndicate. Do they have any criminal bona fides or any desire to do this job? Absolutely not. But do their positions as a pastor and teacher provide the perfect cover? Unfortunately for Nicky and Morgan, they do.

I've never really been a fan of stories where people are drawn into the criminal underworld against their will. Yet Big Mistakes won me over thanks to the dynamic between Nicky and Morgan, especially their blatant reluctance in the face of every task they're given.

Take the first episode, which ends with the pair in the back of gangster Yusuf's (Boran Kuzum) truck.

"It's fully giving kidnap homicide," Morgan moans as she climbs in.

"Those are your last words?" Nicky retorts, with a gun at his back.

That contrast between sibling bickering and the threat of bodily harm fuels the dark comedy of Big Mistakes. No matter where Nicky and Morgan wind up, be it a cattle auction or a Miami yacht, they're always complaining. The nonstop sniping can occasionally carry shades of David and Alexis Rose, but the show's grittier thriller tone, as well as a stress-inducing score from Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum and Peaches, helps distance Big Mistakes from Schitt's Creek.

Levy and Ortega also establish themselves as a stellar comedy duo, feeding on each other's frenetic energy to turn each illegal deal into a tour de force of cringe comedy. Big Mistakes' broader ensemble is also a joy to watch, especially Metcalf as the beleaguered Linda. When we first meet her and her children, they're bracing for a family tragedy: the death of Nonna Morelli. We learn her decline has gone on long enough that her family's grief has morphed into the kind of pained resignation in which everyone is making her illness about them. For Nicky and Morgan, it's an inconvenience. For Natalie, it's an opportunity to performatively out-grieve her imperfect siblings. And for Linda, who's doing her best to keep her ailing mother under control, it's a hindrance to her campaign announcement.

"Make my mother's death easy on me," Linda asks her children. The line is proof of how pitch-black Big Mistakes is willing to get, and the kind of self-absorption we'll be dealing with from all the Morellis as the series spirals further into criminal chaos.

Big Mistakes leans into the anxiety of Nicky and Morgan's double lives closing in around them. But it also finds wholesomeness amidst the sordid schemes, with Nicky and Morgan growing closer thanks to their new endeavors. Here, Levy and Ortega showcase a vulnerability that's not on display in their earlier, more abrasive arguments together, and the result is heartwarming. (Even if these moments of reconciliation often come at the worst possible moments.) It's proof of Levy and Ortega's chemistry, and it also helps set up what could be one of TV's next most compelling sibling duos.

This winter, Heated Rivalry helped audiences get hot and bothered at home. But with cherry blossom season upon us, dare to embrace a romance set under the Tuscan sun. If you need some sunshine, yearning, and romance, go see You, Me & Tuscany, the latest gem from director Kat Coiro.

In 2022, Coiro showed her sincere appreciation for classic romantic comedy with the sublimely satisfying Marry Me, which starred Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in a Notting Hill-like narrative about an average bookish man who woos an international famous woman. Now, Coiro's back to help us fall in love again with another story that pulls heavily from '90s rom-com inspiration. This time, her leading lovers are The Little Mermaid's Halle Bailey and Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page, who are surrounded by a gaggle of charming, colorful characters.

What's not to love?

You, Me & Tuscany is basically While You Were Sleeping in Italy.

Bear with me. Screenwriter Ryan Engle (Rampage, Beast) and his wife, Kristin Engle, are credited with the story for You, Me & Tuscany, with the former credited as its sole screenwriter. You, Me & Tuscany's credits do not cite the 1995 Sandra Bullock rom-com written by Daniel G. Sullivan and Fredric Lebow as an inspiration. But if you look past the superficial, the comparison between While You Were Sleeping and You, Me & Tuscany is undeniable.

Each film begins with a lonely young woman who dreams of a bigger life. Chicago transit worker Lucy (Bullock), who has no family, dreams of the dashing stranger in the tailored suit who comes to her station every morning and brightens her day by just existing. Aspiring chef Anna (Bailey) once dreamed of traveling to Italy and starting a restaurant with her mom. But the unexpected death of her mother derailed her culinary school education, leaving her scraping by on housesitting gigs in Manhattan. That is, until she meets a "spicy white boy" (as her bestie Claire calls him) named Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor).

Over a sexy night together, Anna learns that Lorenzo owns a Tuscan villa that is "just sitting there." And look, when she decides to use the last of her savings to finally see Tuscany, it's not with the plan of squatting in his abandoned villa. But much like Lucy never imagined her meet-cute with her crush would be on the tracks of a subway as the train came barreling in, life (in rom-coms) comes at you fast. Just go with it.

Naturally, Anna finds a diamond ring in the house, tries it on, and as fate would have, she can't get it off before Matteo's family finds her in his house. So, much like Lucy, she is at the center of a marital misunderstanding: the family of the absent (or comatose) man believes this charming, lonely girl is his fiancée. But the similarities don't stop there! I could run you through the whole plot of both films, to point to how clearly the Engles pulled from Sullivan and Lebow's framework. But crucial to the plot is the brother complication.

In While You Were Sleeping, the comatose crush played by Peter Gallagher begins as the dream, but Lucy soon falls for his slightly cranky, blue-collar brother (Bill Pullman), creating an unusual love triangle. Because how can she be with the man she's actually falling for when he and all his family believes she's engaged to his brother?! Anna ends up in this same tricky predicament, falling for Matteo's "brother/cousin" Michael (Page). The specifics of that relationship will be explained by the pair's TMI-obsessed sister Francesca (a splendidly funny Stella Pecollo). But the key problem is the same: The rom-com heroine's interest shifts from the white-collar, vaguely fuckboy-esque brother to the more gruff and rugged brother with a heart of gold.

It's a terrific plot that, while seemingly stolen, is gussied up with gorgeous Italian settings of rolling vineyards, rapturous close-ups of delicious local food, and elements of Black culture shared between the leading onscreen lovers. Awe-striking establishing shots of Tuscany prove a perfect backdrop for these beguiling performers to paint their romance, scored by swoony R&B tracks like Mario's "Let Me Love You" and Ari Lennox's "Soft Girl Era."

Bailey is bubbly and pitch-perfect as a rom-com heroine, exuding the kind of chaotic gumption that could be disastrous in the real world, but is an unlikely path to adventure in this tender genre. In the opening sequence, she's able to strut like a confident fashion icon, only to stumble into physical comedy when the rug of a seemingly perfect life is pulled out from under her by another rom-com diva, My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Nia Vardalos.

For his part, Page cozies back into the enemies-to-lovers dynamic that had Bridgerton fans going mad. As "handsome winemaker" Michael, he is initially brusque and distrustful of the outspoken American, who assumes they have commonality because of their skin color. After a bumpy beginning though, Michael learns they do have a lot in common, like heartache, ambition, and a love of good wine and yearning R&B. Naturally, Anna gushes to her bestie (Aziza Scott) back in New York about this, texting, "Spicy White has a brother that's a BROTHA with a six-pack!"

From a distance, Claire tries to be the real-talking voice of reason, and Scott is lively fun in this small part. In Italy, Anna first befriends a garrulous taxi driver named Lorenzo (Marco Calvani), who, beyond offering good advice, is also always ready with a gourmet Italian sandwich. (Squad goals.) De Moor smoothly shoulders the role of the sexy Italian who could be only a plot device by bringing a spicy mischievousness to Matteo. And the rest of the family are a joy, much like in While You Were Sleeping and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Matteo and Michael not only have their bawdy, chatty sister, but a chipper cousin (Emanuele Pacca) who loves opera, a hovering mother (Isabella Ferrari), a stern father (Paolo Sassanelli), a pair of serenading uncles, a duo of excitable nieces, and a glaring nonna (Stefania Casini). While each is a sketch of a character, they all bring verve and joy to this mirthful medley.

Coiro's rom-com doesn't just satisfy on the swoon. Sure, she knows how to dress the heroine in chic, fantasy fashion fits, and how to shoot Page for maximum sexual appeal (slo-mo, wet, and shirtless). But beyond that, she fills every role with a dynamic performer who adds flavor to her Italian feast of yearning and love. For instance, Cora (Cocoa Brown) and Prisilla (Vanessa Fraction), a pair of Black friends on a vineyard tour, prove spectacular comic relief in an emotional moment as they riff about edge maintenance and Michael's level of sexiness. Coiro herself gets in on this fun too, offering a cameo where she's a silly tourist absolutely flushed by the undeniable sexual chemistry between Anna and Michael. And, fair.

Which is all to say, You, Me & Tuscany will be loved by rom-com fans for its sincere appreciation of the subgenre. From a familiar framework and a traditionally romantic Tuscan setting, Engle creates a vivid world of love and family that is absolutely enchanting. Coiro brings this fantasy romance to life with a crackling cast and a keen eye for both whimsy and comedy. And Bailey and Page are a sensational match, spinning an enemies-to-lovers tale with passion and panache.

All this makes You, Me & Tuscany a marvelous movie, so beautiful and fun that it demands to be seen in theaters. But hey, sneak in a sandwich, a fancy Italian one if you can. It'll make a perfect pairing.

The NYT Connections puzzle today is not too difficult if you're down in the dumps.

Connections is the one of the most popular New York Times word games that's captured the public's attention. The game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier—so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

What is Connections?

The NYT's latest daily word game has become a social media hit. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu with helping to create the new word game and bringing it to the publications' Games section. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake—players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

Dyson announced its first portable handheld fan Wednesday, and its price is unexpected. The new HushJet Mini Cool launches this Thursday, April 9, at 11 a.m. ET for only $99. It's the cheapest Dyson gadget ever and an unusually approachable offering from a company known for its luxe floorcare, haircare, and air treatment tools. (...Recession indicator?)

Perhaps most impressively, the HushJet is even more affordable than the Shark ChillPill, a new portable fan released earlier this spring by one of Dyson's biggest rivals.

The HushJet weighs only 7.5 ounces, or just under half a pound, and measures 38 millimeters (1.5 inches) in diameter — making it just as big around as Dyson's skinny Supersonic hair dryer and PencilVac stick vacuum. The fan offers five airflow speeds and a "Boost" mode for an extra blast of air. It lasts up to six hours on the lowest speed setting and charges to full battery in about three hours.

The HushJet's brushless DC motor spins at up to 65,000 revolutions per minute (RPM), producing airflow speeds of up to a whopping 80 feet per second or 55 miles per hour. For reference, other portable fans vetted by Mashable staff peak at 3,000 to 7,500 RPM. The HushJet is compact yet super powerful.

In its press release about the HushJet, Dyson stated that "Acoustics are as important as power." The company said it designed the fan's nozzle so that it doesn't whine or make a high-pitched whir. Its spec sheet notes that it runs at 52dBA (A-weighted decibels) on the first speed setting, or about as loud as the hum of a fridge, and maxes out at 72.5dBA in Boost mode. At that highest setting, it's slightly quieter than the 77dBA Supersonic hair dryer.

Chief Engineer Jake Dyson said the company has been "obsessed with airflow" since 2009, the year it launched its first bladeless fan. "The HushJet Mini Cool fan is the culmination of that journey," he explained in a statement: "powerful airflow, engineered for life on the move by bringing elite cooling technology from every home to your hand."

The HushJet also tees up a new chapter in the Dyson vs. Shark rivalry. Shark's stick vacuums and hair tools are regarded as some of the best affordable alternatives to Dyson's expensive counterparts.

Shark launched a 3-in-1 bladeless portable fan called the ChillPill in March. It's 64 percent heavier than the HushJet and can only move up to 25 feet of airflow per second, but it has a longer battery life, 10 speed settings, and interchangeable heads with misting and cooling functions. It's priced at $149.99.

For its part, the $99 HushJet will come with a charging stand, a USB-C charging cable, a travel pouch, and a lanyard for wearing around one's neck. Dyson said it will drop additional sold-separately HushJet accessories this summer, including a universal mount that attaches it to strollers and other items.

The HushJet will be available in one mother-of-pearl-inspired stone/blush finish at launch this week. Additional carnelian/sky and ink/cobalt colorways will arrive in May and June, respectively, just in time for the start of wedding and music festival season.

Who is the real human behind Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym for the still-anonymous creator of Bitcoin?

The question is more than just academic, and it's not about who controls the currency. If Satoshi (as he is universally known) is still alive, he's spent years sitting on about $68 billion worth of Bitcoin. It was worth about twice that at its peak in October 2025; crypto has had a bad six months. There may be worse to come, according to Google, now that quantum computers could unlock every Bitcoin. The "Who is Satoshi?" parlor game has been going for more than a decade. We've seen more than a few con artists claim to be the Banksy of Bitcoin. We've even seen a Satoshi memoir announced (likely fake — whomever Satoshi is, he hasn't written anything under that name since 2011). A recent HBO documentary made its own case for Satoshi's secret identity.

So it was a big deal when a New York Times investigation pointed the finger at British cryptography expert Adam Back, a veteran bitcoin miner active in the crypto community around the time Satoshi was posting. This investigation is especially notable, as the reporter behind the story, John Carreyrou, is known for uncovering a lot of Elizabeth Holmes's infamous fraud at Theranos.

And it was a poke in the eye for the Times when Back calmly and clearly denied the claim in multiple social media posts.

The TL;DR of Back's denial: Damn, I wish.

"[Of course I'm] kicking myself for not [bitcoin] mining in anger in 2009," Back told one user on X. "Hindsight is always 20:20 in trading, so I'm relaxed about that could-have should-have."

This isn't the first time Back's name has been mentioned as the real identity of Satoshi. Carreyrou says he grew suspicious of Back after seeing his body language in the HBO documentary on this subject, which listed Back as a possible Satoshi.

The Times claim relies in part on an AI examination of early cryptography listservs where Satoshi was active; the AI noted that both Back and Satoshi mixed up their "its" and "it's" and shared a common vocabulary. Back said he told Carreyrou there was a form of "cognitive bias" at work in the fact that he simply posted on a lot of the same topics at Satoshi.

And of course, as Back didn't need to mention, AI is inherently and increasingly prone to hallucination.

"I also don't know who Satoshi is," Back wrote, "and I think it is good for bitcoin that this is the case, as it helps bitcoin be viewed a new asset class, the mathematically scarce digital commodity."

Back also tweeted an image he'd sent years earlier, one that emphasized the decentralized nature of Bitcoin: "we are all Satoshi."

Mark Zuckerberg announced Wednesday that Meta Superintelligence Labs has reached its first major milestone: a new family of AI models called Muse, with the debut model, Spark, available now. In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg said that Muse Spark now powers an updated version of Meta AI, which users can access online at meta.ai or in the Meta AI app.

"Muse Spark is the first step on our scaling ladder and the first product of a ground-up overhaul of our AI efforts," a Meta announcement stated.

Spark is designed to be particularly capable in areas tied to everyday personal use — tasks like visual understanding, health, shopping, and social content. Looking ahead, Zuckerberg said Meta is building products that go beyond answering questions, toward AI that acts as agents "that do things for you."

Future AI models in the Muse lineup will also include new open-source releases.

Muse Spark is the first big product from Meta Superintelligence Labs

The announcement marks the public debut of work that has been underway — and at times turbulent — since last summer. When Zuckerberg first laid out his vision for "personal superintelligence" in a July 2025 manifesto, the ambition was an AI that helps people pursue their own goals rather than one controlled from the top down.

To build it, Meta went on one of the most aggressive hiring sprees in recent memory, personally recruiting more than 50 researchers from rivals including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, and bringing in former Scale AI chief Alexandr Wang to lead its new superintelligence research group.

Then, just as quickly, Meta froze hiring altogether — citing routine budget planning — and restructured the team into four smaller units focused on research, superintelligence development, products, and infrastructure. Zuckerberg explained the pivot by saying he believes breakthrough AI work is best done by compact teams who can hold the full picture in their heads, rather than sprawling organizations.

The whiplash raised eyebrows amid broader market jitters about whether the AI boom is sustainable. An MIT study circulating at the time found the vast majority of companies deploying AI were seeing no financial return.

In his original manifesto, Zuckerberg drew a sharp philosophical line between Meta and its competitors, arguing that some AI labs want to concentrate superintelligence and pipe its output to humanity like a utility. Meta sees it differently, he said.

In Wednesday's Muse Spark announcement post, he once again framed the lab's founding goal as "putting personal superintelligence in everyone's hands" — with the underlying belief that empowering individuals, not centralizing intelligence, is how humanity moves forward.

Wednesday's Muse announcement will be the first concrete product to emerge from these multi-billion-dollar investments. (Meta allocated $72 billion in AI development in 2025 and is expected to spend up to $135 billion in 2026.)

Muse Spark: Benchmark performance

So far, Meta's Llama family of AI models has lagged far behind its rivals on AI leaderboards. Whether Spark lives up to the superintelligence branding remains to be seen, but after months of hiring drama, restructuring, and big-picture theorizing, Meta has finally put something on the table.

As Zuckerberg put it: "I'm looking forward to sharing more soon."

As part of its Muse Spark announcement, Meta Superintelligence Labs released its scores on popular AI benchmark tests such as Humanity's Last Exam (HLE), ARC AGI 2, and GPQA Diamond. These scores could not be independently verified at this time, but Meta did release information on its testing methodology for Muse Spark.

Overall, Meta reported mixed results when comparing Muse Spark to frontier models such as Claude Opus 4.6 Max, Gemini 3.1 Pro High, GPT 5.4 Xhigh, and Grok 4.2, with Muse Spark outperforming on some benchmarks and underperforming on others.

How to try Muse Spark from Meta

Muse Spark is available online now. Desktop users can access the new AI model online at meta.ai. Mobile users can also try Muse Spark in the Meta AI app. Additionally, Meta said that select users will be able to access a private API preview.

To compete with reasoning models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, Meta is also releasing a "Contemplating" mode for Muse Spark, "which orchestrates multiple agents that reason in parallel."

"This allows Muse Spark to compete with the extreme reasoning modes of frontier models such as Gemini Deep Think and GPT Pro. Contemplating mode provides significant capability improvements in challenging tasks, achieving 58% in Humanity’s Last Exam and 38% in FrontierScience Research."

Contemplating mode is not yet available; Meta said it will be released gradually at meta.ai, but did not provide a timeline for its release.

London's cybercrime unit is investigating a former Meta employee who allegedly downloaded more than 30,000 private user images from personal Facebook pages.

Police say the employee, a company engineer, allegedly designed a script that allowed his activity to go undetected by internal security systems, according to court documents reviewed by The Guardian.

The incident was discovered by the company over a year ago, Meta explained in a statement to the BBC. In addition to terminating the employee, Meta notified affected Facebook users and updated its security protocols. Meta then referred the case to the UK police, and authorities arrested the man in November.

"After discovering improper access by an employee over a year ago, we immediately terminated the individual, notified users, referred the matter to law enforcement and enhanced our security measures," the company said to the press. "We are co-operating with the ongoing investigation."

Meta has previously been accused of failing to appropriately notify users of privacy policies and how their data is accessed by the company, including recent concerns about Meta AI chatbot prompts being made visible to the public.

Last month, an investigation found that offshore Meta workers in Kenya were being forced to review personal recordings taken by Meta Ray-Ban glasses wearers — videos that were being shared unbeknownst to users to train the company's AI. In January, a group of international plaintiffs and whistleblowers filed a lawsuit against Meta, alleging that private WhatsApp conversations, which are end-to-end encrypted, were being accessed and analyzed by Meta employees. The company has denied the allegation.

This four-person crew made history on April 6, when Orion reached 248,655 miles from Earth, the farthest any human has ever traveled in space, surpassing Apollo 13's record. Now, U.S. Navy teams stationed near San Diego are ready to bring them safely home.

If you don't want to miss the Artemis II return, then tune in to the NASA livestream on Friday. That's when Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen are expected to splash down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego at approximately 5:07 p.m. PT (7:07 p.m. CT).

When to start watching

NASA+ coverage kicks off at 3:30 p.m. PT, about 90 minutes before splashdown. But the action really heats up, literally, around 4:53 p.m. PT, when the Orion spacecraft hits entry interface, and the capsule begins its scorching journey through Earth's atmosphere, where it will reach roughly 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

After the Artemis II recovery, NASA will hold a post-splashdown news conference at 7:30 p.m. PT at Johnson Space Center.

On April 7, some Kindle users received an alarming email from Amazon. The email alerted users that, as of May 20, 2026, their Kindle devices will no longer be supported. Immediate reactions on social media devolved into panic, fearing that this meant beloved Kindles were no longer functional. Yet, I'm more impressed that 14-year-old Kindles are still going strong.

Before you run out to buy a new Kindle, you don't have to fear — you can still use your Kindle. The news does not mean these Kindle devices are being deactivated; however, they're no longer receiving software updates, nor will you have access to web services. And, yes, for Libby users, this means you'll no longer be able to borrow books on your device since you need WiFi.

Here's everything you need to know, including which devices are affected and what that means for you.

Which Kindle devices are affected?

Kindle users with an affected device linked to their Amazon account received an email informing them that support for their device is being discontinued. In fact, it's not just Kindles but Fire tablets, too. The devices no longer being supported include:

• Kindle DX

• Kindle DX Graphite

• Kindle Keyboard

• Kindle 4

• Kindle Touch

• Kindle 5

• Kindle Paperwhite (1st generation)

• Kindle Fire HD 8.9

What does the change on May 20 mean?

In the email Amazon sent to users, it stated: "Amazon is discontinuing support for Kindle devices released in 2012 or earlier." But what does discontuning support actually mean? Devices will no longer have web support; therefore, they won't have the Send to Kindle feature, which requires an internet connection. It also means you won't be able to borrow or download books from the Kindle Store, including Libby e-books, since they go through the Kindle Store. In Amazon's email, they also mentioned that if you deregister and factory reset the device, you cannot register it again.

When reached for comment, an Amazon spokesperson provided this statement to Mashable:

Starting May 20, 2026, customers using Kindle and Kindle Fire devices released in 2012 and earlier will no longer be able to purchase, borrow, or download new content via the Kindle Store. These models have been supported for at least 14 years — some as long as 18 years — but technology has come a long way in that time, and these devices will no longer be supported moving forward. We are notifying those still actively using them and offering promotions to help with the transition to newer devices. Their accounts and Kindle Library also remain fully accessible through the free Kindle app and Kindle for Web.

Can you still use your affected Kindle after May 20?

The affected Kindles aren't necessarily being deactivated; service will just be limited. You can still read the books you have already downloaded to your Kindle per usual. Plus, many users recommend jailbreaking the device.

If you connect your Kindle to a computer and use a program like Calibre, you can still easily transfer books to your Kindle. Who's really losing out are Libby users, who have benefited from the Send to Kindle feature.

If the update is a huge deal-breaker, it may be time for a new Kindle, where you can access all the books you've ever purchased in the Kindle Store. For some, this update has left a bad impression and might mean it's time to try out a different e-reader, like a Kobo.

"Anyone can reinvent themselves."

These are the words of menacing Euphoria Season 3 newcomer Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). He speaks them to Rue (Zendaya) as she comes to a crossroads on her winding journey to redemption, but he might as well be describing series creator Sam Levinson's thought process coming into Season 3. This time around, reinvention is the name of the game, as Euphoria moves from gritty teen drama to seedy neo-Western.

On the one hand, some form of reinvention is necessary. Euphoria's Season 2 finale aired four years ago. After that hiatus, it would be ridiculous to return to high school as if nothing had changed, especially since, during that time away, cast members like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney blossomed into megawatt movie stars through decidedly non-high school roles. On the other hand, the path Levinson chooses for Euphoria Season 3 opens the show up to its worst impulses, marring its technical splendor and strong performances with exploitative storylines that feel primed for internet outrage.

Euphoria Season 3 doesn't feel like the Euphoria you know.

A five-year time jump between Euphoria Seasons 2 and 3 shakes the show up in a major way. The show's core cast of characters has scattered to the winds in their new adulthood. Some, like Nate (Elordi) and Cassie (Sweeney), are settling down and getting married. Others, like Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Maddy (Alexa Demie), are hustling for success in Hollywood.

Rue's life has taken a much more dangerous turn. Her debts to drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly) have caught up with her, and she's now a drug mule. The season's exhilarating opening catches her tearing across the Chihuahuan Desert on the way back to the U.S., complete with a tense pit stop at the border wall. Zendaya sinks right back into Rue's live-wire energy, making it feel as if we've never left her.

However, most of the other aspects of Euphoria surrounding her have changed. Gone are the neon-soaked school hallways and city streets, replaced by wide-open Western vistas saturated with stunning color. The layered vocals of Labrinth's score are nowhere to be heard either. Instead, Hans Zimmer takes the reins with a more orchestral sound (that at one point sounds eerily close to his work on Dune). Even the show's title appears in a different font: a blocky yellow that recalls Western film titles. This season accompanies its first title card drop with the screech of a hawk, an extra bit of Western pastiche that hammers home the show's new direction.

All the changes serve Levinson's thesis that these characters' early 20s are the Wild Wests of their lives. (For Rue, caught in a standoff between Laurie and strip club kingpin Alamo, that lawless Western element is a lot more literal.) Yet in making all these changes, Euphoria also loses the parts of its identity that set it apart from its teen drama counterparts in the first place. Now it feels more like a familiar crime drama. A prestige crime drama with an HBO budget, but still a recognizable one.

One element of Euphoria that carries over to Season 3 is its gleeful pushing of the envelope, particularly when it comes to sex. In Season 3, Levinson is focused on sex work, a subject he's already explored in part (but with very little sensitivity) in Kat's (Barbie Ferreira) Season 1 cam girl storyline. This time around, sex work takes center stage in multiple storylines. Rue helps run one of Alamo's strip clubs. Jules (Hunter Schafer) becomes a sugar baby. Cassie makes forays into OnlyFans, all in the hopes of earning enough money so she can pay for her dream flowers at her and Nate's wedding.

Euphoria Season 1 portrayed Kat's cam girl journey as primarily empowering, with very little consideration to the fact that she was underage at the time. Season 3 flips the script, turning a now-adult Cassie's OnlyFans ambitions into an over-sexualized humiliation gauntlet. If you thought Season 2's embarrassment of her was relentless, her Season 3 introduction alone blows that out of the water. Dressed as a dog, she perches atop a mini dog house and laps water from a bowl, desperate for validation online. Between this and "Wuthering Heights," it's a big year for Elordi characters dominating women through pet play. Fitting, as both Emerald Fennell and Levinson thrive on the empty provocation of throwing taboos at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Cassie's sex work has no depth to it, and in her "right-wing suburban bubble," everyone heaps shame on her, from her fiancé to her friends. Euphoria doesn't interrogate these biases or examine the intricacies of sex work further. Instead, it's happy to keep the shame coming, using Cassie's aspirations as a springboard from which it can launch suggestive images designed to stir up the most controversy: Cassie draped in a sopping wet American flag shirt, or posing as a baby. That it's Sweeney — herself a cultural lightning rod — in these tableaus makes Euphoria's desire for outrage even more clear. And while I clearly feel some of that outrage the show is gunning for, what I feel more is exasperation. Exasperation that a show with such incredible potential, and such undeniable talent in front of and behind the camera, keeps opting for lazy shocks.

These shocks even spill into Rue's storyline, which has usually been Euphoria at its best and most introspective. In Season 3, Rue experiments with religion and surrendering herself to a higher power, a quest that stems from a diner conversation with Ali (Colman Domingo). Euphoria wisely knows that when it sticks Zendaya and Domingo in a booth and lets them play off one another, it gets magic. That's why Rue's special episode, "Trouble Don’t Last Always," is a series highlight. Yet in the first three episodes of Season 3 sent to critics, Rue's journey to fulfillment often falls to the wayside to make more room for what Euphoria knows will get people talking most: mess and controversy. In Rue's case, those manifest in her work at a strip club, which is populated less by fully-formed characters and more by tragic sex worker archetypes.

But even in non-overtly sexual situations, Euphoria finds a way to ogle its cast. An early sequence sees Rue and her co-conspirator Faye (Chloe Cherry) swallow golf-ball sized bags of drugs to smuggle out of Mexico. The camera lingers on their throats and their spit, while their gulps ring out loud and desperate. It's a needlessly suggestive spectacle, and the same goes for what happens when the drugs need to come out the other end.

Unfortunately, it's scenes like these that linger in the brain and get immortalized thanks to the meme treatment. Euphoria knows this, which is why it's all too happy to keep humiliating Cassie and providing surface-level looks at controversial topics in Season 3.

There's a great show lurking in here somewhere. So much of Rue's journey proves it. Yet Euphoria keeps smothering that greatness with something far grosser, and that's something no amount of reinvention can hide.

The Home Depot has resurrected its annual Halfway to Halloween sale. The home improvement retailer surprise-released a selection of its popular Halloween decorations on Wednesday, April 8, marking nearly six months until the spooky holiday.

A Home Depot representative told Mashable that all returning items are priced the same as they were originally. The updated Lethal Lily is only $50 more than her non-app-controlled predecessor.

Notably absent from the drop is "Skelly," the viral 12-foot-tall skeleton that the Home Depot has sold every year since 2020. Wannabe owners will just have to be patient: The company's rep confirmed that Skelly will return in stores and online later this year.

The Home Depot typically releases its full Halloween collection in mid-July, though last year it arrived in early August. The retailer previewed several new additions to its 2026 lineup on Instagram in mid-March, including a giant mummy, skeleton pirates, a decaying velociraptor, and an app-controlled version of Skelly.

With this year's Halfway to Halloween sale, the Home Depot's seasonal programming has returned to its regular schedule. Mashable previously reported that the company canceled the sale last year amid fluctuating tariffs that threw the entire Halloween decor industry into uncertainty. Despite the fact that the Artemis II astronauts have been sending back absolutely stunning photos and videos of the lunar surface, a never-before-seen solar eclipse, Earthrise, and Earthset, viral AI videos of the moon are also going viral.

As with any major news event, AI slop farmers are taking the opportunity to share misleading and fabricated AI videos of the Artemis II mission. And even some of the more obvious examples of fake AI videos are racking up millions of views on platforms like X and TikTok.

We've seen the same phenomenon occur with other recent news events, from lighthearted viral moments like Punch the monkey to much more serious events like the war in Iran.

AI video models have become much more sophisticated over the past year, and it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between fiction and reality online. However, careful observation can often identify clear tells that you're watching an AI video. In other cases, common sense can be your guide.

As the world watched the Artemis II lunar flyby, some social media users have been sharing fantastical AI videos and images depicting rocks rolling across the lunar surface or impossible geological formations. Other users are representing images of the lunar surface as if they were high-definition videos captured by the Orion spacecraft, dubbed Integrity by its crew.

As ever, look for AI artifacts that suggest you're watching altered or synthetic content. AI videos also tend to be made up of very short clips, typically eight to 15 seconds in length. Finally, they will typically be posted by low-authority accounts with a history of posting AI slop and engagement bait.

Fortunately, the imagery sent back from Orion has been breathtaking.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake—players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

The story goes like this: Anthropic creates Claude Mythos, an AI model that's great at identifying security flaws in software. Due to security issues within Anthropic's own content management system software, details about Mythos leak to the public ahead of time. So, instead of just launching Mythos like it would other models, Anthropic decided to only give access to a small number of select companies: Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks. Anthropic calls this "Project Glasswing," an initiative to strengthen critical software infrastructure with the help of AI. The company also extended access to a group of over 40 additional organizations that "build or maintain critical software infrastructure."

In an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, Dianne Penn, Anthropic’s head of research product management, said that the move came after a lot of "internal deliberation," and that it was about giving "a lot of cyber defenders a head start."

Meanwhile on X, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei wrote in a post, "Rather than release Mythos Preview to general availability, we’re giving defenders early controlled access in order to find and patch vulnerabilities before Mythos-class models proliferate across the ecosystem."

Remi Cruz Parsons has spent more than a decade inviting viewers into her life. With her new cookbook, Let's Get Cooking: Everyday Meals, Tipsy Favorites and Comfort Food Cravings, the 31-year-old creator is bringing one of the most beloved parts of her content into readers' homes. Filled with comfort food, Korean recipes inspired by her family, easy weeknight dinners, and dishes longtime viewers will instantly recognize from her vlogs, the book feels like a natural extension of the world she has built online.

We spoke with Remi about building a career online, finding longevity as a creator, protecting your privacy, and why cooking has become one of the most intimate ways she connects with her audience.

I feel like I've really grown up with you, which you probably hear all the time.

Remi Cruz Parsons: I mean, I feel like I've grown up with everybody. We've all grown up. It's been fun to grow up with everyone and go through similar experiences together.

I was looking at the very first video on your YouTube channel, posted 13 years ago. It was a room tour.

There were more, but they're all private, so I need to go back and private them.

In it, you're talking alking about Pretty Little Liars. That was my life.

I love meeting people my age because it feels like we were all doing the same things at the same time. Obviously, the internet has changed tremendously, but I'm still doing room tours.

Cooking has really become a big part of your content for many years. But at what point were you like, "OK, this is what people are connecting with"?

It was probably right around before COVID or during quarantine. At the time, I was making so much lifestyle content — room tours, beauty, fashion, all of that — and I still genuinely love those things. But I remember feeling like I was at a crossroads creatively. I didn't feel as inspired by some of the lifestyle content anymore, and I wanted to challenge myself in a different way.

So I sat down and thought, "What do I really love doing?" And the answer was cooking. I loved cooking, I loved posting about it, and I realized I wanted to explore that more seriously. I still wanted to keep doing everything else because I genuinely enjoy it, but I also wanted to see what it would look like to really dive into the cooking world.

2020 really was the year so many people realized they wanted to turn their hobbies into something bigger.

And also, pretty much all I did was cook all day. I was like, well, if I'm vlogging too, this is perfect.

And people were really connecting with it.

Yeah, that’s why I feel really lucky. Throughout all the different journeys of my life and all the content that I’ve made, I’ve just been able to show what I’m genuinely doing and fall in love with it on camera. Whether it was DIY room decor or cooking, it wasn't even a conscious thought. It was just, this is what I’m doing at the time, and people happen to be in similar places in their lives.

It's because your audience really gravitates toward you.

That’s the dream for a content creator, though. So I feel very lucky.

When you were deciding which recipes should be in the book, what was that process like?

I sat down and thought about the fact that I vlog pretty much every day of my life, even if it’s just little moments here and there. I also dedicated the book to my viewers because I wouldn't have any of these opportunities without them.

So I wanted the book to feel really authentic to the content I make, where viewers could pick it up and feel like there are little “if you know, you know” moments. But I also wanted it to appeal to people who are just walking through a bookstore.

I ended up laying it out almost like a Remi Life vlog. The chapters are split up based on the kinds of things you see in my content. There's a grab-and-go breakfast chapter because I’m always running late or driving to the podcast studio and eating in the car. There’s a Korean chapter, which is really where I found my love for my culture and learned how to cook. There's a weeknight dinner chapter because sometimes I come home after a long day and I don't want to cook, but I still need to eat. I also love hosting. In my vlogs, I'm always posting holiday content, family gatherings, or any excuse to throw a party. So it’s nice because there’s variety, but it also feels really true to my life and my audience.

If someone picked up this book in a bookstore and had never watched your content before, what's the one recipe that feels most like you?

My gut reaction is the cheesy potato casserole. I’m actually making it tomorrow on the Today Show, which makes me so happy because I think it might have been the first recipe I learned to make. My mom always made it growing up, and every holiday, my brother and I would skip the turkey and just eat piles of that. Eventually, my mom was like, "I need help in the kitchen. You can take over this recipe." That felt like such an honor.

Now, every Thanksgiving, Christmas, or family gathering, it's always on the menu. Even my husband asked if we should start doing mac and cheese for holidays, and I was like, no — this is our thing. It's comforting, everyone loves a casserole, and it’s honestly really easy to make.

I love any kind of one-pot meal situation.

Truly. Minimal cleanup, and it’s all basically done in maybe an hour and a half.

You've been on the internet for a long time and shared your life with millions of people, but cooking is its own form of intimacy. What has it been like to share this part of yourself?

I love the idea of cooking being intimate because it’s so true. To me, the kitchen is sacred. It’s the heart of the home. So for people to bring the book into their kitchens and hopefully incorporate these recipes into their holidays or weeknights or family traditions — that's really special. Even seeing people recreate my recipes is so nerve-wracking because I want them to love it as much as I do. But it's also incredibly rewarding. I saw someone on TikTok who got the book early and made my chocolate cookies, which I developed after having a Levain cookie years ago and thinking, "This is the best cookie I've ever had." I wanted to figure out how to make a thick, cakey cookie like that. Now I keep the dough in my freezer all the time so I can make one whenever I've had a bad day or a good day. Watching her make them and react to them felt so intimate. I was sitting on the edge of my seat watching her review the recipe. She said she had to go for a walk because she ate the whole plate. It made me so happy.

It must be surreal to see something you created take on new lives when people start making it themselves.

Totally. My dream is for someone to make the potato casserole or another recipe from the book and have it become part of their family tradition.

You've been creating content for more than a decade now. When you look back at those older videos, do you see something that you instinctively understood about building an audience?

I do. The old content was definitely very of its time, and I cringe a little sometimes, but I’m also so grateful for that younger version of myself. I wouldn’t be sitting here if it weren’t for those videos and the courage it took to post them. It's also really fun seeing creators who are just starting out now because the creator environment is so different.

When I started, it wasn’t a real job. I had to spend so much time convincing my parents to let me post videos in the first place, and then convincing them to let me take a break from school to pursue it full-time. Now it feels so much more accepted. I remember my first PR package. It was from ColourPop, and I was so excited. My dad was like, "Do not give our address to strangers." But I was like, "No, you don’t get it. This is going to be my life." And I was right.

I see that a lot with first- and second-generation kids, too. Your parents came here with one idea of success in mind, and then you've built something completely different.

Totally. Both of my parents immigrated from Korea. My mom always wanted me to go into medicine, and my dad was more like, "Do what you want, but still go to school." Getting them to let me take a break from school was such a huge conversation. But now they're my biggest supporters. My mom is in the book, her recipes are in the book, her photos are in the book. I posted a vlog this morning where I showed my parents the book for the first time, and my mom was hysterically crying before I even pulled it out. It was really sweet.

You mentioned how much the internet has changed. How have you had to rethink your strategy as a creator now versus when you first started?

When I started, it was basically just YouTube. Then Instagram came along, then TikTok, and I'm sure there will be more platforms in the future. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is how to adapt and evolve with those changes. For a long time, I was so used to long-form content, and I'm still teaching myself how to do short-form. It’s funny because when I talk to shortform creators, they’re like, "How do you do longform?" It's like your brain works one way or the other. If I post a 10-minute vlog on TikTok, it's not going anywhere. You have to learn hooks and make things short and punchy.

But beyond the platforms, I think I've also learned to be more thoughtful about what I share. I've always been very open about my life, and that's one of my strengths because people really connect to it. But it can also be a weakness. I think doing podcasts and other projects has taught me to be more aware of the audience and to think carefully about what I want to share and what I want to keep private.

That's really important. I see so many younger creators sharing everything — where they live, posting from their location in real-time — without realizing how much they're revealing.

Absolutely. Years ago, I did a full empty-house tour when I moved, and now things feel different. The internet feels scarier. People are smarter. People can figure things out more easily. Now I’m much more careful about not posting in real-time or giving too much away.

It's also about protecting your mental health.

Exactly. Everything you do online gets put under a microscope. So it becomes a question of, what am I willing to share if it’s going to be scrutinized, perceived, or discussed by strangers? That applies to relationships, family, all of it.

You've built this incredible relationship with your audience, and now you have the cookbook, the podcast, and multiple channels. How do you expand without making it feel like you're just selling something to your followers?

I never want anything to feel like a cash grab. I only want to do things that feel authentic and that I genuinely want to do. At the end of the day, I’m the one showing up and writing the recipes and making the content. There are things people always tell me I should do, like merch, but if I’m not ready, I’m not ready. With the book, I learned early on that it’s such a long process. It took almost three years. At first I thought, "I'm not ready right now," but then I realized, "That’s OK, because I’ll be ready by the time it comes out."

I think newer creators feel a lot of pressure to capitalize on everything immediately.

Totally. Alisha [Marie] and I talk about this all the time. We feel really lucky to have had longevity because we never expected any of this. But I see so many creators going nonstop, and I just don't think there's longevity in that. That's how you burn out. At the end of the day, even if you have a team, you're still the person who has to show up, film, post, and keep going. I wish people talked about that more.

What do you think is the key to longevity?

I think it's just being yourself, as cliché as that sounds. For me, it never feels like work because I’m not playing a character. I can be talking to you right now, turn the camera on, and be the exact same person online. I think that’s what makes it sustainable.

I'm sure the launch of this cookbook is making you think differently about success. What does success mean to you now versus when you first started?

When I was younger, success was numbers. Subscribers, views, all of that. Now I really try to focus on my core community — whether that’s people who have watched my videos since day one, people who found me through the podcast, or people who are newer to my content. I focus on the people who are genuinely excited about what I make and who inspire me to keep creating. It's easy to just see numbers on a screen and forget there are actual people behind them.

That's why meetups and tours are so meaningful. Alisha and I went on tour last summer, and seeing people in real life changes everything. Sometimes people tell me, "I only get 500 views on my videos," and I’m like, 500 people is still a lot of people. You have to think about them as actual individuals.

Those interactions matter more to me now than anything else.

I interview a lot of musicians, too, and it's similar. Maybe they're never going to sell out a stadium, but they can fill a theater with people who know every word.

Exactly. I'd rather have a small theater full of people singing every lyric than a stadium where people got free tickets and barely know who I am.

What excites you most about creating content these days?

Honestly, it’s the feedback and the community. I love the inside jokes, the comments that make me laugh, and seeing how people interact with everything. It feels like such a close-knit community between the podcast listeners, vlog viewers, TikTok audience, all of it. I'm always excited to post and see what people are saying.

So you do read comments?

I do. Unless I'm having a bad mental health day, then maybe not. But for the most part, yes. I've been doing this long enough that I know what to expect. And because we post so much content, especially with the podcast, it creates such an active community. We post two one-hour podcast episodes every week, which naturally leads to many conversations and much community-building.

Now, being a podcast host really means being a content creator too.

Totally. Alisha and I started our podcast eight years ago, and at the time, we were among the first YouTube creators to do so. Our agent called and said, "What do you think about podcasts?" and we were like, "What? Why would anyone want to hear us talk?" We did audio-only for the first three years, and now everything is video. Most people watch podcasts instead of just listening to them. It's wild seeing how much it's changed.

I usually listen while I'm working, but I also see podcast clips everywhere on my social feeds.

Same. We’re constantly recording and thinking, "Clip that. That’s a good clip."

Do you feel like each platform has a different audience?

A little bit, but honestly, I see a lot of the same people everywhere. I'll see inside jokes from the podcast show up in TikTok comments or YouTube comments. People will say things like, "I saw this in the vlog first." I'm sure there are people who only watch TikTok or only listen to the podcast, but for the most part, it feels like a really loyal audience that follows me everywhere.

And with the cookbook, you'll probably bring in a whole new audience.

That's what I’m hoping for. Maybe some aunties, too.

Obviously, all the recipes are your favorites, but if you had to pick one?

I have to go back to the Korean chapter. The tteokbokki recipe is really special to me. I remember moving out on my own and craving it, but not knowing how to make it. I FaceTimed my mom, and she walked me through it step by step.

Growing up, there was always a crockpot of tteokbokki at family parties. That's my ultimate comfort food. Whenever I go to Korea, if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it. That recipe just has so much history and meaning for me.

When it comes to web browsers, I bet most of us don't really want them to change. Browsing the web has become such an integral part of our lives that any little "upgrade" can feel like a huge hassle to get used to. Now, however, Google has turned one of the most basic Chrome features on its head, and we still think you should give it a try.

On Tuesday, Google launched vertical tabs in Chrome. Yes, instead of having the tabs horizontally strewn out above the URL bar, you can have them neatly ordered in a long list on the browser window's left side.

I'm the first to admit that this is a change I don't want to get used to, having browsed roughly the same way since the early days of Firefox (tabbed browsing was largely popularized by Firefox in 2002, even though there were browsers and add-ons that did it earlier).

But having your tabs laid out vertically does have some advantages. For example, when you have a ton of tabs open (I always do), they become so small that it gets hard to read which one is which. Having them on the left makes this easier to manage, as a big chunk of the tab's headline stays visible (you can, however, greatly reduce the vertical tab bar's size so that it only shows icons).

The feature is fully optional, and can be enabled by right clicking on the tab bar and selecting "Show Tabs Vertically." If you don't see it, don't worry; Google says the feature is currently rolling out, so it'll probably show up in your Chrome soon.

The vertical tabs feature showed up in Google's Chrome Canary (experimental build for developers) back in Nov. 2025, in slightly different format, but it was now made available to everyone.

Perfect Order pricing has been steadily dropping off, now with ETBs available for under $80 across multiple retailers.

Multiple other sellers are offering unopened boxes for around $73.35 to $73.43 with shipping included. That lower pricing also lines up with how the ETB has been moving more broadly. It's been an emotional journey as always, but Shrinking Season 3 managed to end on its usual bittersweet note — leaving us equal parts sad and tentatively hopeful for Jimmy (Jason Segel) and the gang.

So what happened, what does it mean, and what might be next? Let's unpack.

How does Shrinking Season 3 end?

The entire main cast of Shrinking goes on a big journey in Season 3, with most of the core players ending the season at the start of a new life chapter: Alice (Lukita Maxwell) is heading to college, Liz (Christa Miller) and Derek (Ted McGinley) are off to Spain, Gaby (Jessica Williams) is engaged to other Derrick (Damon Wayans Jr.), Brian (Michael Urie) is going to Tennessee, Sean (Luke Tennie) is moving out, and Paul (Harrison Ford) has moved across the country to be near his daughter.

In other words, everybody is beginning an exciting new adventure — except Jimmy (Jason Segel), who suddenly finds himself facing a pretty lonely stretch without his friends and family around. To make things worse, he appears to have blown his chances with Sofi (Cobie Smulders), and his relationship with Paul is in tatters after their argument at the end of episode 10.

What happens between Jimmy and Paul?

Jimmy and Paul start the episode barely speaking to each other. They share some tense exchanges over the phone, but it's not until Paul is reprimanded by his daughter and Alice that he finally decides upon a Jimmy-style intervention.

He calls Jimmy and invites him to breakfast, but then instead of sitting down with him he pulls his colleague to one side for some real talk. We've copied their exchange, which feels like a key moment the show has been building to all season, below:

Paul: "Let me talk. OK? Life threw you a curveball. So to try and control things you picture how you want them to go in your own head. That doesn't work. If you can't let go of this shit on your own then I have to...I have to keep trying to shake it out of you. You hear what I'm saying?"

Jimmy: "Yeah I do, but can we just talk about this over waffles?"

P: "No, you're not eating with me. You're eating with her... [Paul points to Sofi, who's sitting at a table by herself.] Not how you pictured it, huh?"

J: "You fucking Jimmied me!"

P: "That's right, I fucking Jimmied you! Look kid, if you're ever gonna move forward, you've gotta let go of the past. And I know that's scary. But you...you're never gonna forget Tia. Hell, you're never gonna forget me. No one will. Letting go of the past just means you don't allow your scars to hold you back anymore."

J: "I'm covered in them, Paul."

P: "Good. What a shame to be 42 years of age and not completely covered in scars. They're the evidence of a life fully lived."

J: "I don't want this. I don't want you to have to fly all across the fucking country just to make sure that I'm OK. I don't want to be a burden to you."

P: "You're not. You're more of a son to me. I don't know why I never said that before. I think you're strong. I think you don't need me. But for as long as I'm around, if you think you need me, I will be there for you. Because I love you. OK?"

J: "OK."

P: "Now you got a choice to make. Either stay stuck, or you can go make some new scars."

After a moment's hesitation, Jimmy does exactly what we're all willing him to: He goes into the restaurant, sits down opposite Sofi, and starts talking.

Will Jimmy finally be able to move forward?

Shrinking has been renewed for a fourth season, which means it won't be long before we find out how Jimmy and Sofi's breakfast went.

But while Season 3 ended on a note of tentative hope for all the characters, we know Shrinking is never plain sailing. The new season is bound to come with a fresh set of challenges for all the characters, and we can't imagine Jimmy's foray into dating will be any exception.

The main issue we can see? With all of his close friends and Alice gone, it feels like there might be a lot of pressure placed on Jimmy's budding connection to Sofi. And with Paul across the country, despite what he says about being there for Jimmy, the distance might still prove a strain on their friendship.

Welcome to your guide to Pips, the latest game in the New York Times catalogue.

Released in August 2025, the Pips puts a unique spin on dominoes, creating a fun single-player experience that could become your next daily gaming habit.

Currently, if you're stuck, the game only offers to reveal the entire puzzle, forcing you to move onto the next difficulty level and start over. However, we have you covered! Below are piecemeal answers that will serve as hints so that you can find your way through each difficulty level.

How to play Pips

If you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity for how Pips is played. As we've shared in our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally and connect with each other. The main difference between a traditional game of dominoes and Pips is the color-coded conditions you have to address. The touching tiles don't necessarily have to match.

The conditions you have to meet are specific to the color-coded spaces. For example, if it provides a single number, every side of a tile in that space must add up to the number provided. It is possible – and common – for only half a tile to be within a color-coded space.

Here are common examples you'll run into across the difficulty levels:

• Number: All the pips in this space must add up to the number.

• Equal: Every domino half in this space must be the same number of pips.

• Not Equal: Every domino half in this space must have a completely different number of pips.

• Less than: Every domino half in this space must add up to less than the number.

• Greater than: Every domino half in this space must add up to more than the number.

If an area does not have any color coding, it means there are no conditions on the portions of dominoes within those spaces.

As we've shared in previous hints stories, this is a version of the popular New York Times word game that seeks to test the knowledge of sports fans.

Like the original Connections, the game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier — so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT's latest daily word game has launched in association with The Athletic, the New York Times property that provides the publication's sports coverage. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake — players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

Updated on April 7 at 5:30 p.m. ET — Following rumors that Apple's unannounced foldable iPhone might not be launching until 2027, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that the launch remains on track for fall 2026. According to Gurman's latest report, the foldable iPhone will still be released alongside the new iPhone 18 lineup in September, as expected.

Apple's iPhone Fold might be coming to market later than anticipated.

A new report by Nikkei claims Apple has hit some engineering hurdles that may delay the launch of the first foldable iPhone, perhaps even into 2027.

According to the report, which cites multiple sources familiar with the matter, developing the iPhone Fold has proven more complex than the company had expected. "It's true that more issues than expected have emerged during the early test production phase, and additional time will be needed to resolve them and make necessary adjustments. ... The current situation could put the mass production timeline at risk," a source told Nikkei.

The report doesn't have many details on what, exactly, these issues are. One source, however, said they have to do with engineering challenges, and are not related to components and materials supply issues.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but Apple needs to overcome these problems until early May, or the launch of the iPhone Fold may have to be moved to a later date.

Most of the reports we've seen so far said that Apple plans to launch the iPhone Fold in September 2026, alongside its iPhone 18 Pro models. However, a recent research note by analyst Tim Long claimed that the shipments for the Fold would likely start in December 2026, a few months after the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models become available.

This doesn't necessarily mean the iPhone Fold won't be unveiled in September alongside other new devices. Apple may officially announce it in September but launch it a few months later, like it did with the iPhone X in 2017.

The news around PlayStation hasn't been great lately, and Sony has just the thing to fix that. Maybe.

On the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced a new initiative called The Playerbase. Through The Playerbase, fans of PlayStation games can apply to have their faces scanned and their likenesses used in PS5 games. The first game to do this will be Gran Turismo 7, in which one lucky fan who makes it through the application process will appear as a time-limited character within the game.

This initiative will be available to players in "select markets" in most parts of the world, per PlayStation. There's an application webpage you can visit if you'd like to put your face in GT7 or whichever future games Sony wants to do this with. The application process itself seems interesting, as you'll have to "answer a few questions about your experiences on PlayStation," log in to your PlayStation Network account, and undergo a video interview before making it into any games. It seems like Sony wants to prioritize people with a long history of playing PlayStation games, so this might be the first time in history that having a high Trophy count can come in handy.

For PlayStation, this is a lightweight and frivolous headline in a sea of bad ones recently. Sony recently increased the prices of PS5 consoles nearly six years into the console's lifespan due to economic pressures, for example. A report also came out indicating the PlayStation 6, which may also have its planned 2027 launch delayed, might not include a built-in disc drive at all.

But hey, maybe The Playerbase will get people excited about PlayStation again.

If you've been using OpenClaw, the wildly popular AI agentic tool that took the developer community by storm, you should probably update it if you haven't done so already.

OpenClaw, as we've reported in the past, has widely known security problems. From the beginning, OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger has warned potential users on GitHub that "There is no 'perfectly secure' setup."

Users can grant OpenClaw control over their devices and access to specific apps, local files, and logged-in accounts, allowing it to act on their behalf with full user permissions. That's the whole point of this agentic AI assistant. That's also why, as security researchers have been warning for months, it's a significant risk if something goes wrong.

Now, predictably, something went wrong.

According to Ars Technica, developers at OpenClaw patched three high-severity vulnerabilities early last week, the most serious of which — CVE-2026-33579 — scored 9.8 out of 10 on the severity scale. Researchers at AI app-builder Blink found that the flaw allowed anyone with the lowest possible level of access to silently upgrade themselves to full administrator.

The mechanics, as Blink described them, are straightforward. OpenClaw's device pairing system failed to verify whether the person approving an access request actually had the authority to grant the request. So, an attacker with basic pairing privileges could simply ask for admin access and approve their own request. The door was, functionally, unlocked from the inside.

Just how many users' Claw setups were vulnerable to takeover? Blink researchers reported that about 63 percent of internet-connected OpenClaw instances were running without any authentication. On those deployments, an attacker didn't even need a low-level account to get started — they could walk in off the street and work their way up to admin.

Ars Technica notes that the patch was released on Sunday, April 5, but the official CVE listing didn't appear until Tuesday. That two-day gap gave attackers who were paying attention a head start before most users would have known to update.

Blink noted that CVE-2026-33579 is the sixth pairing-related vulnerability disclosed in OpenClaw in six weeks — all variations on the same underlying design flaw in how the tool handles permissions. Each patch has addressed a specific exploit in isolation rather than rearchitecting the authorization system responsible for all of them.

If you're running OpenClaw, update to version 2026.3.28 immediately. If you were running an older version in the past week, Ars Technica and Blink both recommend treating your instance as potentially compromised and auditing your activity logs for suspicious device approvals.

Beyond that, it may be worth asking whether the productivity gains from a tool this powerful are worth the security risks that come with it.

Artemis II astronauts spent Monday rounding the moon's edge, digital cameras in hand, snapping views of craters, an eclipse, and a blue marble rising and setting in deep space.

Inside NASA's Orion spacecraft, Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen took turns at the windows like kids on their first plane ride.

They spent about seven hours rotating through observation shifts on the sixth day of the mission, swapping lenses, calling out features, and firing off photos as the spacecraft arced around the far side of the moon.

At closest approach, they skimmed within about 4,000 miles of the lunar surface — close enough for every ridge, crater, and shadow to snap into sharp relief. The astronauts surprised mission control with descriptions of the surface appearing more brown than gray, with even some splotches of green and snowy white.

The latest Artemis II images don't just revisit Apollo — they mark a leap beyond it. Apollo crews captured their own iconic shots of the Earth and moon, but Artemis II delivered longer looks, sharper detail, and a front-row seat to the experience. Their extended total solar eclipse, for example, was a moment that earlier NASA missions could only catch in passing, if at all. Sunlight slid low across the surface, throwing long, dramatic shadows along the terminator — that line between light and shadow across the lunar face — turning familiar terrain into something theatrical. When it was Glover's turn at the window, he couldn't stop studying the ominous boundary.

"There's just so much magic in the terminator," he said, "the islands of light, the valleys that would look like black holes [that] you'd fall straight to the center of the moon if you stepped in."

The massive Mare Orientale basin unfurled in rings of mountains, its dark, hardened lava floor a testament to ancient eruptions. The crew suggested names — Carroll and Integrity — for smaller "fresh" craters, to honor Wiseman's late wife and their spacecraft.

"Something that's truly awesome up here is we now have the moon and the Earth in Window 3  simultaneously, and the moon is a gibbous, and the Earth is a crescent," Wiseman said. "I'm guessing in about 45 minutes, we'll have two identical crescents as we change our position in the universe." 

That made Kelsey Young, head of Artemis's science flight operations, literally giggle from mission control in Houston.

"That is pretty darn cool, thank you," she said.

As Orion slipped behind the moon, Earth began to sink. In one frame, it hangs as a thin crescent, clouds swirling over the Pacific, the rest of the planet swallowed by night. Minutes later, the crew lost contact with Earth entirely, cut off for about 50 minutes as the moon itself blocked radio signals. 

And, perhaps just to raise the stakes, the sky went dark.

From their vantage point, the astronauts watched the moon swallow the sun in a total solar eclipse that stretched almost an hour. The sun's corona glowed, stars pricked through the darkness, and even Venus made a cameo. But the backlit moon stole the show. 

Not long after, Earth came back — this time rising. A pale blue crescent emerged from beyond the bumpy lunar surface in a historic Earthrise.

NASA says the images will help scientists better understand how giant asteroid impacts shape worlds, and how the moon built its battered surface over billions of years. Those craters, ever etched in its surface, log the history of the solar system. 

But they also do something more profound: make us cherish home.

It seems like software developers are launching new AI-powered dictation apps every other day now. However, this latest one is a bit different. Why? Because unlike the other ones created by startups or solo indie hackers, this one is brought you by a Big Tech behemoth.

On Monday, Google quietly launched its own AI dictation app for iOS devices. The app is called Google AI Edge Eloquent, and it's currently available to download for free on Apple's App Store.

Google's AI dictation app can work completely offline, as the app downloads Google's local Gemma-based speech recognition models directly to the user's iPhone. As everything is local, Google AI Edge Eloquent provides unlimited, and most notably, completely subscription-free use.

Users also have the option to turn cloud mode on if they are interested in using Gemini's AI capabilities. Cloud-based model usage is free, at least for now, as well.

Once Google AI Edge Eloquent is downloaded, users simply need to open the app, hit record, and start talking. Google AI Edge Eloquent will provide the speech-to-text transcription. Thanks to its AI capabilities, the app is able to clean up the text output and remove filler words like "ums" and "uhs" and any corrections made during the voice recording.

When the transcription is complete, users can ask for AI-powered summaries or rewrites by choosing the Polish, Key points, Formal, and Short options provided under the transcription. 

The app has a history tab that saves all previous transcriptions. Users can search within all of their transcriptions and also view stats for each session, such as words-per-minute or number of words spoken.

Users can also create their own personal dictionary, familiarizing the app with unique words and names so it can accurately transcribe them.

According to Google's description for the app, an integrated iOS keyboard is coming soon.

The official site for Google AI Edge Eloquent is hosted on Google's google.dev domain name, suggesting that this app is very much a work-in-progress.

It's also interesting that there doesn't currently appear to be an Android version of the app, although Google says on its website that it's "evaluating other platforms," including a desktop version.

Google releasing an AI dictation app at all is fairly notable as it's a fairly simple AI use case when compared to what else Google is doing in the space. However, perhaps the growing trend and market for AI dictation apps was just too much for Google to pass on.

That, or the app could prove to be a valuable source of training data in the future.

No, NASA's Artemis II astronauts did not make contact with extraterrestrial life on the far side of the moon — but they did get a call from Donald Trump.

As the crew traveled farther from Earth than any humans have in decades, the U.S. president phoned commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen on Monday to congratulate them on the historic mission. The exchange was captured on the Artemis II livestream.

"You've made history and made all of America really proud," Trump told the crew during the roughly 12-minute call, which took place just hours after they soared past the far side of the moon. The president called the astronauts "modern-day pioneers" and asked what it felt like to lose contact with Earth during the lunar flyby. "I said a little prayer, and then I had to keep rolling," Glover replied, adding that the crew worked on their detailed lunar observations during that time. "It was actually quite nice."

Trump acknowledged Hansen's role as the mission's Canadian astronaut, referring to him as a "neighbor." The president also referenced conversations with Canadian ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, spoke optimistically about future trips to Mars, and claimed, "America is the hottest country in the world right now." The Artemis II crew seemed more fascinated by the floating microphone drifting through the cabin, repeatedly grabbing for it as it bobbed weightlessly between them.

At one point, both sides of the call briefly wondered whether the connection had dropped, leading to several awkward seconds of silence.

Within minutes, clips of the exchange spread across social media, while the dead air became its own meme. One viral post described the moment simply: "Awkward scenes aboard Artemis II as Trump stops ranting and none of the astronauts have anything left to say to him, leading to extended dead air."

But the online reaction quickly shifted from the novelty of the call itself to the politics surrounding it.

Just days before the conversation, the White House proposed cutting NASA's overall budget by 23 percent for fiscal year 2027 while reducing NASA's science division by nearly half. At the same time, the proposal would increase funding for the Artemis mission, including $8.5 billion for the moon program and additional money for plans to establish a permanent lunar base camp. (Notably, NASA administrator Jared Isaacman supports the administration's proposed budget cuts.)

That contradiction became central to much of the internet's response. Posts juxtaposed Trump's praise for the astronauts and their scientific achievements with headlines about the proposed cuts.

Scientists and advocacy groups have warned that cutting astrophysics, heliophysics, and planetary science budgets could ultimately undermine long-term human exploration. The Planetary Society called it the NASA cuts an "existential threat" to U.S. space science and exploration, claiming it could result in at least 40 missions being canceled.

Apple is expected to release the first foldable iPhone later this year (or potentially in 2027), and this week, a leaker claims to have a close-up look at the device.

Leaker Sonny Dickson shared photos on his X account purporting to show dummy models for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Fold.

The first two devices, as you'd expect, look like other iPhone Pro models, with three camera lenses in a rectangular bump on the back. One of them, presumably the Pro Max, looks a little bigger than the other. However, the real juice here is the alleged iPhone Fold model, representing one of the first looks at what could be a real representation of the upcoming, still unannounced phone.

While Dickson didn't share exact size dimensions in his post, it's clear just from using your eyes that the iPhone Fold is both very wide and significantly more squat than its brethren. In fact, it looks even more wide and short than something like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The leaked iPhone Fold model also has two rear camera lens cut-outs in a smaller raised bump than the ones found on the iPhone 18 Pro models.

These dummy models largely match what we've seen from previous leaks and renders of the device.

According to prior reports, the iPhone Fold's outer display will only be 5.5 inches, a big downsizing compared to regular iPhone models. However, once opened up, users will have access to 7.8 inches of screen space. The iPhone Fold is also rumored to cost more than $2,000, though, so it will likely come with a steep price tag.

While we expect the iPhone Fold to launch later in 2026, a new report coinciding with Dickson's latest leak suggests the launch could be pushed into 2027. At any rate, this is a lot of information to digest about a device Apple hasn't even confirmed yet.

A24 has released a trailer for The Invite, teasing a dinner party which looks set to be much more dramatic than the hosts had planned.

A remake of the 2020 Spanish comedy The People Upstairs, The Invite follows couple Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia Wilde, who also directs). The pair's marriage is struggling, their previous spark having been replaced by disagreements and disgruntlement.

Their relationship soon comes to a potential crossroads when they invite their upstairs neighbours (Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton) for a dinner party. A notably more laid-back pair than their hosts, it looks as though Joe and Angela's guests have seen the couple from their apartment window and really dig their vibes.

The Invite is scheduled for a limited release in theatres June 26.

Waymo is now offering fully autonomous, driverless taxi rides in Nashville.

We knew this was coming. The company's robotaxis were spotted driving around without a human safety driver in Nashville back in February, but the service wasn't open to the public yet.

Starting now, however, Waymo users will be getting invites for fully driverless rides in Nashville. Initially, the service will cover a 60-square-mile area (see map below), and Waymo says it's also planning to include the Nashville International Airport in the "near future."

If you haven't received your invite, it should be coming soon. Waymo says the gradual rollout enables it to "thoughtfully scale while delivering a consistent, high-quality experience."

The service will initially be offered through Waymo app, but the company says it will also start serving some rides through project partner Lyft's app "later this year."

Waymo has been aggressively expanding in recent months, likely due to its chief competitor, Tesla, doing the same with its Robotaxi service. Most recently, Waymo has expanded its test vehicles in Chicago, Illinois, and Charlotte. The company's expansion follows a $16 billion financing round in February, with Waymo promising to expand to over 20 more cities in 2026.

On Tuesday, Google shared for the first time details about how its AI chatbot Gemini is designed not to act like a companion or claim to be human when interacting with minors.

The information, published by the company in a blog post, was announced among changes to better support the mental health of users engaging with Gemini.

Child safety and mental health experts have long worried that companion-like chatbots are too dangerous for teens to use. Last year, the advocacy group Common Sense Media rated the teen and under-13 versions of Gemini as "high risk" after its researchers determined that the chatbot exposed kids to inappropriate content, including sex, drugs, alcohol, and unsafe mental health "advice."

The group recommended that no one under 18 turn to an AI chatbot for companionship or mental health support.

Google said that Gemini has "persona protections" when engaging with under-18 users. The longstanding constraints are designed to prevent emotional dependence and avoid "language that simulates intimacy or expresses needs," according to Google. Other safeguards should help discourage the chatbot from bullying and other types of harassment.

"Our safety efforts continue to evolve and reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a healthy and positive digital environment where young people can explore and learn with confidence," Google said in the company's blog post.

Google also announced that it updated Gemini to streamline resources for users who may seek or need mental health resources. A new "one-touch" interface will offer varied connections to crisis hotline resources, including via chat, call, and text.

That interface will appear throughout a conversation with Gemini once it's activated. Google said that it is trying to prioritize helping users receive human support. Additionally, Gemini's responses are supposed to encourage help-seeking instead of validating harmful behaviors and confirming false beliefs.

In March, Google and its parent company Alphabet, were sued by the family of an adult man who allege he killed himself at Gemini's urging.

"Gemini is designed not to encourage real-world violence or suggest self-harm," Google said in a statement at the time. "Our models generally perform well in these types of challenging conversations and we devote significant resources to this, but unfortunately AI models are not perfect."

The Soundcore Space One and Space One Pro both have a great look, especially for budget headphones. When I first spotted them out in the wild, I thought they were a pair of Beats because they looked like the Studio Pros. Turns out, the Soundcore and Beats logos just look remarkably similar.

The Soundcore Space One and Space One Pro headphones stand on their own, with sleek, shiny design elements and rounded features. Both are made from lightweight plastic, so while they look expensive, they do feel noticeably cheaper than higher-end brands. The Space One Pros have a little more heft, so they feel more expensive, earning their higher price tag.

The controls are the exact same. On the left ear cup is the power button and a button to control noise cancellation. On the right ear cup is the play/pause button and the volume controls. All the buttons work great, and I prefer them far more than the touch controls of higher-end headphones.

One odd design choice separating the Space One and Space One Pro is that the ear cups on the Space Ones have a slight eight-degree tilt for an adjustable fit.

Generally, the Space One headphones weren't as snug a fit as the Space One Pros. That being said, I preferred the comfort of the Space One headphones. I wear glasses and earrings daily, and while wearing the Space Ones, I was always comfortable with no pinching on my ears.

The Space One Pros have a tighter fit, which, on the one hand, means better passive noise cancellation. On the other hand, it is harder to get comfortable with the Space One Pro headphones. The tight fit on the headphones meant I was constantly adjusting to get them comfortable, and wearing them for an hour started to give me a headache.

So, on comfort alone, I prefer the Space Ones.

Middling audio quality and noise cancellation

I wasn't blown away by either the Soundcore Space One or Space One pro headphones — both were good but not great. On specs alone, the Space One and Space One Pro are incredibly similar, both with active noise cancellation and hi-res sound. Where the Pros have a leg up is a more advanced version of ANC and lossless audio. In my experience, the sound is virtually the same.

What it ultimately came down to was the headphones' fit. Since the Space One Pro headphones have a tighter fit, it created more passive noise cancellation. When I wore both out at a coffee shop to work, the Space One Pros were better at blocking out the cafe's buzz.

Battery life to last for days

Despite the $100 price difference between the two pairs of headphones, their battery life is fairly similar. The Space One headphones have 40 hours of battery life with ANC and 55 hours without, while the Space One Pro headphones have the same battery life with ANC but 60 hours without.

In my time testing the two pairs of headphones, I found similar results. When using the headphones for a couple of hours a day, I could go about two weeks before needing to recharge them — and that's with active noise cancellation on.

Unless you don't plan to use active noise cancellation on the headphones, the Pros aren't worth it given the battery life.

Go for the cheaper pair: The Soundcore Space One

Testing the Soundcore Space One and Space One Pro headphones side by side, the biggest difference is their price tags. Since that's the case, I say go for the cheaper option, the Soundcore Space One. The battery life is essentially the same as the Pros, plus, they're the more comfortable pair of headphones.

If you want to splurge and prioritize noise cancellation, go for the Soundcore Space One Pro headphones. They have a tighter fit, resulting in better noise cancellation. However, we're big fans of saving money where you can, and in this case, the cheaper Soundcore Space One are our preferred headphones.

I'm not saying that you can expect every robot vacuum that mops to scrub your kitchen grout with the same tenacity as you could by hand with a toothbrush. But the best robot vacuum and mop combos have gotten much closer to true deep cleaning versus the ol' wet light dusting of the cheap mopping robot vacuums of the early 2020s.

Many have smart mopping settings that unleash deeper scrubbing on specified spills or stains, and some even use AI sensors to assess whether a mess has been sufficiently cleaned. The mopping mechanisms themselves are also just more physically able to do a better job — from downward-pressing dual rotating mops that can actually get close to the wall or sturdy roller mops that rinse themselves as they go, automated mopping involves more elbow grease and brainpower than you may be expecting.

You can also set your robot vacuum to take multiple passes over dirty floors in the app's settings — one of my go-to tips for making your vacuum work better.

The self-emptying docks of 2-in-1 robot vacuums are far more advanced than they were a few years ago. If you've chatted with any single friend lately or scrolled through social media, you know the general consensus: People are exhausted by online dating. App fatigue is real, it's excruciating, and it makes finding a genuine connection online feel impossible. As someone who's been testing and reviewing dating apps for years, I get asked one question constantly: Which dating apps work?

My answer is always the same: The only "hack" is choosing the right app for what you actually want. Someone on eharmony is looking for a ring, while users on hookup apps like Tinder are... well, you know what they're looking for.

The dating apps I'd skip (and why)

You'll probably notice a few popular apps are missing from my list. That’s intentional. Part of my job is to filter out the platforms that aren't worth your time, money, or sanity. An app doesn't get my recommendation just because it's well-known — it has to be effective and safe.

Here are a few popular dating apps I'd skip:

• Plenty of Fish (POF): I know this one shows up on a lot of lists, but in my opinion, it's a dating app ghost town. POF launched as a dating site back in 2003, and it shows. In my experience (and based on widespread user feedback), the platform is filled with bots and scams, and the odds of finding a quality connection are stacked against you. Unless you enjoy sifting through fake profiles, I think your time is better spent elsewhere.

• Raya: Raya is basically the Soho House of dating apps. It's exclusive, expensive, and not for the average person. You have to fill out an application to use it, and the vetting process can take anywhere from a few days to a few years. While it might be great for networking or bagging an influencer, it's just not a practical recommendation for most people who are simply looking for a date. (See also: The League.)

• Niche "hookup" sites (like BeNaughty, Fling, etc.): There's a chance you've seen ads for sites like these, which promise quick, no-strings-attached fun. Based on my research and countless user reviews, I'd advise you to steer clear. These platforms are notorious for being overrun with bots and having questionable billing practices, with users reporting unexpected and hard-to-cancel subscription charges.

Stephen Colbert has reacted to President Donald Trump's threats to destroy Iran's power plants and bridges. Posting to Truth Social on Easter Sunday, Trump announced that the U.S. would attack Iran on Tuesday, stating that "There will be nothing like it!!!" As Colbert noted, Trump going "100 percent cage-free crazy on the internet" didn't make for a very festive Easter atmosphere.

"Open the Fuckin' Strait [of Hormuz], you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH!" Trump wrote (emphasis original). "Praise be to Allah."

"You know, it is not often that a network has to bleep the words of a sitting president," Colbert quipped. "Hasn't happened since [President Harry S.] Truman put that famous sign on his desk: The bleep stops bleep."

Quickly running through Trump's recent history regarding his messaging on Iran, Colbert noted that just last week the president said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was not an issue the U.S. was interested in being involved in. Despite this, the U.S. president has since issued multiple deadlines for Iran to reopen the strait, threatening military strikes on the country's power plants if they do not comply. Thus far, Trump has moved these deadlines back each time they've arrived.

"At this point he's tried every tactic except passive aggressive parental guilt trip," joked Colbert. "'Well, I guess you won't open the Strait of Hormuz before I die. But that's fine. I mean, who needs oil when I'm clearly never going to have grandchildren? I don't need them. I have canasta, which would be a beautiful name for a girl.'"

Colbert also continued to follow NASA's historic Artemis II mission to the moon, which began experiencing various problems with its onboard toilet not long after launch.

"Luckily, the astronauts have trained extensively on NASA's broken toilet simulator: a Greyhound bus," Colbert quipped. "Apparently the problem was caused by a frozen waste plug in the toilet pipeline, which the crew solved by rotating the spacecraft so sunlight could warm the frozen pipe. Turns out the solution to their problem was to point it where the sun do shine."

Jimmy Kimmel has returned from a one-week break, diving straight back into our ongoing hellscape by addressing President Donald Trump's behaviour during the Easter holiday. On Easter Sunday, Trump published a post on Truth Social threatening a large-scale attack on Iran's power plants and bridges this Tuesday. He subsequently followed it up with a post that simply read, "Tuesday, 8 P.M. Eastern Time!"

"He's the only president who teases a bombing the same way ABC promotes new episodes of Will Trent," quipped Kimmel.

Trump was also his usual verbose self at the White House's annual Easter Egg Roll. In a moment Kimmel considered among the "most preposterous" in the event's history, Trump gave a speech about the U.S.' war with Iran while standing next to a person in an Easter Bunny costume. The president then griped about former president Joe Biden to a group of literal children.

"I want to assure you the words you are about to hear coming out of the president's mouth were not altered," said Kimmel. "We did not script this. This is not AI or a Donald Trump impersonator."

Specifically, Trump complained to the children about Joe Biden's use of an autopen, a machine that can sign documents on an individual's behalf. Though it is legal for presidents to sign bills with an autopen, last March Trump cited its use as justification for voiding pardons that Biden had issued. Under the U.S. Constitution, a pardon does not need to be written or signed to be effective.

"It's hard to believe it was only a week off," said Kimmel. "It seems like we've been gone for a year. So much stuff happened while we were off."

If you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity for how Pips is played. Today's Connections: Sports Edition is for people who have played golf.

As we've shared in previous hints stories, this is a version of the popular New York Times word game that seeks to test the knowledge of sports fans.

Like the original Connections, the game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier — so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT's latest daily word game has launched in association with The Athletic, the New York Times property that provides the publication's sports coverage. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake — players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.
