Where do you come from and how would you describe it?

How would you descibe where you come from?

I come from Muranga North, a place of serene beauty tucked away between Nyeri, Nyandurua and Muranga districts. A place far away from civilisation of glitters and glamours of Nairobi but a countryside like no other in Kenya! With an elevation of more than 7,000 feet above the sea level, the landscape is picturesque and undulating with rolling green hills, valleys, streaming wells, lush green vegetation, forests... During the day the air is limpid, fresh and thin but at nights it's cold and can get shivery. (No mosquitoes though!)

During the noon-day, the air in the atmopshere is restful and as you sit by the shade and watch the profusion of mighty, weightless, ever-changing clouds passes by up high in the skies, there is this scintillating feeling to your soul that is so therapeutic! . Oh Nostalgia Nostalgia!!

The main cash crop in the area is Tea and to some coffee although the land is considered to be unsuitable for coffee farming due to the high altitude. And in recent times some (so I hear) have ventured into horticultural and some few very brave ones into unknown territories of vineyards and wine-making.
We also grow bananas, sweet potatoes, all kind of fruits, etc etc, and we also rear cattle, sheep, goats, chicken, pigs, turkey and ducks.

The area is accessible from Nairobi, either through Naro Moru via Nyahururu, or if you are travelling through southern route, Thika, Muranga highway.

I wonder if anyone here have these kinds of vivid memories of where you come from (ancestral homeland) that usually gives you those deep nostalgic feelings?

» 45 Replies | Post A Reply

SC governor's career launched by wife he betrayed. When South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford cheated on his wife, he also betrayed his top political adviser.

First lady Jenny Sanford told the world in a statement Wednesday that she had sent her husband packing nearly 15 years after she launched his political career.

Mark Sanford apologized to her and their four sons at a tearful press conference where he admitted a yearlong affair with a friend in Argentina whom he had visited on a secret trip.

His wife said in her own statement later that she kicked him out of the house two weeks ago and asked him not to speak to her while she tried to come to grips with his infidelity.
The Vatican Encyclopedia

I've finally given in :) .

Atabong, whenever you've attacked the historical authenticity on another thread, and I responded, you've always told me to start a different discussion titled 'the vatican encyclopedia.' Well, here you go.

Let us discuss the historical problems you see with Christianity, in a respectable way, and one at a time, specifically with the following comments you made
I am not claiming to ‘know it all’. I am merely present ideas and hoping that some one will challenge them within the scope of reason...

I have read the history and spirituality of most religious concepts and feel I understand enough to know that they are nothing but hoax.
There's numerous threads discussing the impact of western christianity on Africa. I do not wish for that discussion to spill over here just the way you don't want discussions about the origins of Christianity/Islam spilling over into those threads.

I also ask that you present your own argument and not post links to articles or youtube videos made by people much smarter than us. I'm more interested in how well you defend the position you hold.

This is a polite request. If you accept, then please let's keep the personal attacks to a minimum. If you reject, then that's fine; see you in the other threads.

» 20 Replies | Post A Reply

Do what I say...Not what I do

Our neighbours consider Kenya a ‘little london’. Our medical facilities are the best in the region, sub-sahara I would imagine, KNH, Nairobi and Aga Khan Hospitals are some of the hospitals with the best facilities.

Our doctors are being sought far and wide, infact South Africa is dotted with them. The government tries to build confidence in our Kenyan medical field amongst the people. There is constant yapping about improved medical services, 1st class service and care.

And what do the top dogs do when sick – Yes, they get on a plane and leave the country for better treatment. WTF, do these people know the message they send Kenyan’s??

Recently its Muthaura, Raila makes the most noise about it – Germany for check ups. At least Ngilu had her priorities right when she checked into KNH once, and publicized everything.

From a local viewpoint – If I go to the same hospital as a minister, then it must be good. If on the other hand our leaders avoid these facilities, then they must not be good.

Its like cooking for your guests, and after serving them, you order in your own meal. Well that wont give much confidence in your food, will it now?

» 10 Replies | Post A Reply

Security in Kenya

So, I have been over the moon that i am going back! Well that was until i heard of people being kidnapped and hijacked! And cars stolen and worst of all people being killed. And really, all this around the area i live in. Its affects one more when you know the victims. To make matters worse we live near a police station! Funny huh!

I am in utter shock right now at how they operate. At 10pm. I sometimes find myself walking home at that same time from the "local pub" with neighbours.

I understand that they need a living too but robbing people of what they have earned? I know not everyone has chances but i was once told something very wise by a close friend, that if you dont have the chances you want make other chances that can get you to that door you want. Is this how they plan on doing it? Once they get used to how much they are getting, they will never stop. I am scared, how can this get so out of hand?

I watched a documentary about the shootings in India earlier this month. Police could have got rid of these guys long before they got to the streets, but they were scared. Is this the case with kenya too? Are they scared, do they not have the right weapons? I heard three policemen were shot near athi river. As in, atleast they could have defended themselves if they didnt it clearly says they mgiht have known the people or they didnt consider them harmful????

Anywho, im praying and i hope u all are too. Its just going from bad to worse. Im sad, hurt and scared. Why dont they go try these government officials houses?

» 20 Replies | Post A Reply

Revealed: How Raila bewitched Muthaura

Surely Muthaura is a hardworking career civil servant who has never had a single medical problem all his life. Then the guy suddenly collapses and is admitted in the ICU. Quite strange! So who would wish ill of Muthaura? - Only Raila. He has been complaining about Muthaura for the past 2 years and now that he couldn't have him removed in a conventional manner, he went for juju. Its understood that he contacted the nastiest witchdoctors in Nyanza so as to harm poor Muthaura. But he won't succeed. The powers of evil and darkness will be defeated.
(The Interview) eish!

I didn't want to write in the title that it was about michael in case those who are bored with the michael saga missed this one. :D anyways (lol) i've got mad respect for quincy jones but i think he should have measured his words a bit, not rat out on a brother this soon. This was in men style magazine. In fact he almost sounds bitter about michael being michael, and almost glad that he went. Judge for yourself. Anyway this really wasn't right.

---------

on how he found out about michael’s death

Well, everybody in the world called me. I got 500 e-mails. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. At first they said they’d taken him to the hospital, then they said he’d had a stroke or a heart attack—it just kept going back and forth and we didn’t know what was really happening. And at first i thought he was just kind of freaked out by the coming concerts, because i was in london when they announced the 50 concerts and they sold out in four hours. We’d see each other all the time, and i just can’t believe he’s not here.

----

on the strange evolution of michael’s appearance

Oh, we talked about it all the time. But he’d come up with, “man, i promise you i have this disease,” and so forth, and “i have a blister on my lungs,” and all that kind of b.s. It’s hard, because michael’s a virgo, man—he’s very set in his ways. You can’t talk him out of it. Chemical peels and all that stuff. I don’t believe in any of that bullsh*t, no. Never. I’ve been around junkies and stuff all my life. I’ve heard every excuse. It’s like smokers—”i only smoke when i drink” and all that stuff. But it’s bull****. You’re justifying something that’s destructive to your existence. It’s crazy. I mean, i came up with ray charles, man. You know, nobody gonna pull no wool over my eyes. He did heroin 20 years! come on. And black coffee and gin for 40 years. But when he called me to come over to see him when he was in the hospital on his way out, man, he had emphysema, hepatitis c, cirrhosis of the liver, and five malignant tumors. Please, man! i’ve been around this all my life. So it’s hard for somebody to pull the wool over my eyes. But when somebody’s hell-bent on it, you can’t stop ‘em. It’s ridiculous, man! chemical peels and all of it. And i don’t understand it. But he obviously didn’t want to be black… what do you think? you see his kids?

-------

on whether he thinks michael had some deep seated issue on how he looked

well, that comes about a certain way. I’m not sure how it happens. I’m just a musician and a record producer. I’m not a psychiatrist. I don’t understand all that stuff. We all got problems. But there’s a great book out called too soon old, too late smart. Did you see that? that book says the statute of limitations has expired on all childhood traumas. Get your stuff together and get on with your life, man. Stop whinin’ about what’s wrong, because everybody’s had a rough time, in one way or another. (loved this part though)
-----

on wanting michael to sing the ballad “she’s out of my life”

I just wanted to hear him deal with a romantic relationship with a human being rather than a rat (wasup with the rat thing was this necessary?). I’m saying that facetiously, but it’s true. I saw him at the oscars very emotional about “ben.” i wanted to hear him get in touch with a real human relationship. “she’s out of my life” was written by tommy bahler from a very bad ending to a marriage. So it was very real. I was saving it for sinatra. But i gave it to michael. And michael cried during every take, and i left the tears in.

-----
on what killed michael jackson

I don’t know, man. I’m a musician. I’m not a psychiatrist. I would think that the pressure of the concerts and the debt and everything else . . . Look, i’ve been in the hands of nobel doctors for the last five years, in stockholm, at the karolinska hospital, which you can’t even pay to get in (holla @ Karolinska/Stockholm !!!! :D)i’ve learned so much about the human mind and the body, and the doctors talk all the time about how you become your thoughts. It’s true. With one thought it starts, you know, and if you sit there and just stay hung up on one negative thought, you will become that thought. I know that lisa marie presley said that she always thought he was going to die like elvis. You sit and think about that stuff, it’ll happen to you. If you start thinking about darkness instead of light, or fear instead of love, you’ll get in trouble. I really believe that.

---------

on whether he will attend michael’s funeral

no, not at all, not at all. Because it’s going to be, like, 9 million people there, and it’s not what i want to see. I can’t be there, anyway. I’m going to wales the day after tomorrow, i go to montreux, i go to marbella, i go to the south of france. My condolences and love i’ve already sent to the family. But being there with 10 million people is not my idea of a tribute to somebody you were so close to—who’s got a part of your soul. Our souls were joined, you know. And a piece of it goes with him
Hague factor: ruto is misguided

For sometime, I have admired Ruto's bravery, his passion about the issues and the support he has always enjoyed on the ground. I have not always been too sure about his involvement in the post-election violence.....
But I think someone has misinformed him that "if he is one of the culprits in the brown envelop, that he would escape prosecution if Hague is involved. He controls no Army like some dictators under the cloud of indictment. the reality is that he is likely to escape justice with a local tribuna....Kibaki will not wanna slaughter those who killed for him...Prince Kenyatta is untouchable in this govt....the verdict will be something like...no sufficient evidence to convict...

RUto's tantrums amounts to blackmail against Raila..but all we know is that Ruto cannot be a co-PM..I hope he gets his wish and goes to Hague

» 9 Replies | Post A Reply

Ignorance about Kisumu

Ignorance is an excuse not a reason where information is freely available. Many people have never been to Kisumu, yet are well informed and know so much about kisumu and what goes on there.

Have you ever met a jungu who speaks to you in french assuming that since you come from africa you ought to be speaking french? Now that class of ignorance is what we encounter here in mashada.

Just read the level of ignorance in the threads posted below:
Everytime i make out with my Girl or the other one, this question comes up,is it a habit we all have or is it the satisfaction that you made her/him cumm?
Sometimes i even notice her cumming as i ride her and hit that clits, from the cramps and facial expressions as my gigantic di,ck cruises its way through, rubbing her Clits, but still the question "Sweetie umeCumm?"
Is it common in all sex scenes or its only us?
What are the effects of asking it? Or should one just continue rideing her cunt and caressing them nipples?
