I am pleased to announce that the Masquerade is now hosting its very own 25th Anniversary Edition of TradeWars Game Sever. TWGS is available from the door games menu. Currently, there is one game configured to use stock settings. I have the ability to create multiple games, so if there is a particular configuration you are fond of, please let me know.

I am please to announce that a new version of Usurper is now available. This version of Usurper uses the “New” configuration as opposed to the “Classic” configuration. The “New” configuration gives players the choice of different kinds of armor (head, legs, feet, body, etc.). This version also takes advantage of the new 32 bit executable of Usurper for faster, more reliable game play.

You will find Usurper (New) in the Door Games menu. For those that prefer the original Usurper, you can still access it using the Usurper (Classic) option.

You can now telnet to the Masquerade BBS directly from Facebook thanks to Rick Parrish’s fTelnet.

In the far future, and the world has experienced our worst fears. A nuclear holocaust wreaked havoc on the surface of Earth and only one small group of humans in secluded Sacre Base remain unaffected. After the war, they worked to bring stability to the area around them and build the Puritron, which would filter radioactive contaminants out of huge quantities of air. Before it could be put to use, however, it was stolen by various factions of mutants and the pieces were scattered far and wide. As a new recruit, your job is to help establish order and, if possible, locate pieces of the Puritron and return them to Sacre Base.

• Synchronet BBS software has been updated to the latest development version (compiled from CVS). I have not updated the actual BBS software in over a year so please let me know if you notice anything screwy.
• Arrowbridge II is now a League 77 inter-BBS connected game as opposed to a local game.
• bbs-scene.org global onliners have been added to the BBS logon, main menu, and website. Global oneliners utilize RESTful  API calls to get and post oneliners between participating BBSes. You will have to be logged in to the telnet version of the BBS to actually post a oneliner.
• Local oneliners are available from the website under the “oneliners” menu.
• Who’s online and last caller data is available from the website under the “system” menu.
