This tutorial is a true hidden dock. I have done other hidden dock tutorials, like the droid dock and the droid dock with buttons. However, this tutorial has no animation at all. It will how and hide your buttons within a second with no customizing of the SVG required! This is one of the easiest tutorials to do.

Why do it

That really depends if you want a fancy dock for your Blackberry theme for not. This tutorial will teach you how to make a hidden dock with no animation at all. It shows and hides the buttons as soon as you press the button.

A sliding dock is a great thing to have on your Blackberry. It will give you the ability to have a lot of icons on your phone without taking up a lot of space. You can have as any icons as you would like on the scrolling dock. Therefore, in this video tutorial I will explain how to make one. Feel free to ask as many questions as you need.

Why do it?

As stated above, this is great if you like to display your wallpaper but want to have a lot of icons on your home screen. Please take a look at my DroidSlide theme to get an example of this.

Composer is yet another tool to use when designing themes for your Blackberry device. Composer is one of the two programs you get when you download the blackberry theme studio. When you add a button in composer is does not add a background to it like it does in Theme Builder so in this tutorial I will teach you how to do so.

Why do it?

The reason for this tutorial is to make sure you can see which icon you are hovered over. You may not want to put a background to your icons when you hover over them, but if you do, this is how.

In an old tutorial I showed you how to do a hidden dock a different way than this one. The other tutorial you would scroll up to hide your dock, however, in this tutorial, I will explain how to make it so you can press the back key (escape) to hide the dock, and the space bar to show it without loosing the animation! You can also change these to anything you want ($, *, #, etc). Feel free to download the file’s below to help you understand the video as you watch.

Why do it

Some people dislike having to scroll up to hide their docks and some prefer to press a button to hide it. There is another way to accomplish this, however, you loose the scrolling effect. Please sit back and enjoy the tutorial!

I have been asked why I have not done any tutorials for the Blackberry Storm devices a few times. Well, Storm users, you finally got a dedicated tutorial for your device. In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make a hidden dock for your Blackberry Storm. It is simple, so sit back and enjoy!

Why do it

Well there are many reason to do this hidden dock. 1) It looks cool, 2) You want to see your background and 3) because you want to! For me – I like to see what my background is so that is why I have a hidden dock on my phone.

*There are a few ways to accomplish this and to make it act differently. This was the easiest way for me to explain it to people who are new with composer. In this video tutorial I will show you how to design new Blackberry meter(s). I will explain how to redesign the battery, wifi, and signal meters for your Blackberry. The process is quite simple and the hardest part is coming up with a good idea.

Before we get started, I would like to thank berrymobi.com for allowing me to use his concept for this tutorial. After looking at his meters for the 7plus theme I wanted to  recreate them for this tutorial to hopefully make it easier for you to understand them.

Are you sick of going to your application screen just to turn on your alarm clock or reset the time? With this Blackberry tutorial, I will teach you how to remove the step of hunting down that clock application. You will be able to ‘click you clock’ on the home screen which will force the device to load up the clock application.

Why do it

For some people this is a simple answer however for others you are probably wondering why would anyone care to do this. Like stated above, you will not have to hunt down that clock button in your application screen. You can add a hotspot to your home screen which will enable you to set your alarm clock, view your clock, start the stop watch, all from the comfort of your home screen. It doesn’t stop there, you can also add hotspots to your battery, wifi/signal meters and more! Watch the video tutorial to learn how!

Blackberry Messenger (BBM) is an application that comes pre-installed on all Blackberry devices. You are able to add people to your BBM and stay in touch with them without having to compose a SMS or MMS. If you download the newest version of BBM you will have the ability to join groups.

I have started my own group named mg bb themes in which I will tell everyone on there of upcoming themes, free themes, and tutorials. People who are in my group will get coupons to purchase themes and ability to create their own custom themes when they refer friends. Information can be found below. How to do it:

Assuming you have the latest Blackberry Messenger installed on your phone – you would do the following:

Step One

Navigate to the Blackberry Messenger Icon.
or or or others if you have a custom theme.

Uhhhh- I do not have the icon.
No worries, it is possible you do not have a data plan with your service provider. It is also possible it may be inside of a Folder or hidden. Look inside the folder on your Blackberry and if it is not there, click on the menu button () and go to ‘Show All‘.

Step Two

While you are in Blackberry Messenger, hit the menu button again (like shown above) and go to Scan a Group Barcode. Hold your phone to the computer screen and scan the following barcode….

Group One

This group is filled – use barcode below.

Group Two

That’s all it takes. Once you are finished you will now be part of my group.
