I’m back in Stockholm, honestly this is the first time ever I feel after a trip abroad that I don’t agree with the expression “There’s no place like home.” California touched my heart!

My online presence has suffered during the last week because of heavy jet-lag, spring pollen and a bad organized to do list. I know, making excuses are probably not a good way to start a blog post when you plan to write about how we should not blame the circumstances in our lives. Let’s start with a short recap from my classes at Chapman University together with my friend Niklas Myhr, but first I want to express my gratitude towards everyone I met and your kindness: Thanks!

Recap From Chapman

I remember when I studied in school, too many people were obsessing about their grades, internships and their scoreboards. This is something I still often see when I teach students in personal branding. Let’s be clear here! I’m not saying it’s unimportant getting knowledge in school and good grades, quite the opposite, I think I missed out a lot of knowledge because of my slack in school. But I still think we all have our own path to walk and everything has it’s pros and cons. I believe one important thing to comprehend is that when you graduate from school don’t put the learning curve on the back burner, continue the learning process after your graduation.

Life is not about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself, so don’t blame the circumstances.

Mainstream Illusion

You will soon be disappointed when you hit the job market if you have misled yourself with an illusion that just good grades on your scorecard will take your career through the roof. My message here is that building long-term success in life has everything to do with your footwork in your own process of building your career and personal brand. We can never treat knowledge and skills as a check in the box, we must evaluate and develop ourselves on a daily basis.

Everything Else Is Just Noise

I have read tons of books, and I know that this is the one of the reasons why I can sustain this blog today. Because without these books I would never made it to this base on the field. One thing that always recurs in all books as an ingredient for success is: Listen to your heart and follow your passion. Repeating that line in your mind or owning it deep in your heart is two completely different ball games. It took me then years bridging that gap. When something feels real in your heart, you don’t have to make any apologies for it. When it feels good to you, nothing else matters. Everything else is just noise! It takes authentic self esteem to execute and follow your intuition.

Don’t Try To Look Good

Something I tend to see is how the youth seems to operate from a prestigious viewpoint when they are entering the job market. I hear things like “this job is not good enough” or it’s just “temporary”. I understand that if you have studied something in school you probably have intentions to work in that field, but take it easy because Rome wasn’t built in a day and it’s likewise with your career and personal brand. I’m not trying to look good when I say this: But I have learned this the hard way! I was an internally dead dude in a nice suit without any self-esteem, I always went for the looking good mode because I was craving for attention. Without self-esteem you are addicted to other people’s thinking.

Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking - Steve Jobs

Forge Your Skills To Assets

What is the difference between skills and knowledge? I think you develop your skills by practicing and doing something over and over again. A lot of things in life is impossible to improve without taking action on it. That’s why it’s so important to study and do simultaneously, this is how you develop results which leads to life experiences. This is something I really learned when I worked as a sales rep for many years. You can’t just read books about how to sell, you must transform the knowledge into action to create real skills, results and experiences. Your experiences is often labeled as soft assets, they could be a bit abstract to define. As an example: If you have five years experience from marketing. Then you must define clearly what you are able to because of these experiences if you want to make your personal brand cutting edge. Don’t put up 5 years marketing experience on your CV. Skills and experience is important.

Network Is More Than Talent

Other people are like rocket fuel for your career. This is the number one reason why you should start building your personal brand, and networking is a marathon and not a sprint. I remember that everyone I interviewed on my serendipity tour to Silicon Valley told me the same thing about the importance of having an influential network: Relationships matter to everything you want to create here in Silicon Valley. Does it make sense? If you lack certain skills to build a strong network you need to start developing them now. My strongest weakness was that I couldn’t speak English 2 years ago. I think I have transformed that weakness into an asset today.

Does It Make Sense?

I already felt the cultural difference the first day when I discussed personal branding in a marketing class at Chapman together with Niklas Myhr. In Sweden, people tend to obsess about why they need to leave the comfort zone “doing it like we always have done“. Over here, people know in their core that change is somehow an important ingredient and that you can’t expect the government to be looking after your brand. People know that they must be out going and develop connections through networking. This is how you establish your career. I think people in the US tend to see themselves more like “human” start ups. Notice! I said human. So I think it is a cultural difference that make people adapt faster to change here, and embrace personal branding compared to Sweden.

Sniffing Insights In Silicon Valley

These feelings were further evolving when we met Burton Lee PhD MBA at Stanford. He gave us his perspective of innovation in Silicon Valley, Europe and Scandinavia. He described the importance for countries and universities to have a strong presence in Silicon Valley. To wrap it up and make a very insightful hour short: He told us from a Scandinavian perspective that Norway and Finland are doing an increasingly good job with their presence in The Valley. Sweden is maybe not so good as we think we are. He was worried about the absence of interest the Swedish Government and universities were paying to Silicon Valley. He told us that we tend to focus too much on Washington DC. He said: “What does Washington has to do with the Swedish future of innovation”?

When I stood beside the fountain looking at the bookstore where Dr Lee left us, I asked myself: Is there an opportunity here? Is this a cultural challenge too?

Advantage Through Technology

This reflection was soon taking an interesting outcome when we had a wonderful breakfast together with Anneke Seley who is the author of Sales 2.0. We had a great chat together with her about life, cultural differences and the importance of following your intuition. Her book Sales 2.0 is about the use of innovative sales practices, focused on creating value for both buyer and seller and enabled by Web 2.0 and next-generation technology. The outcome in the end of this breakfast was that I started to realize that if you don’t accept change you soon lose momentum in relation to your competitors who are running their business with the latest technology.

How Open Are You?

All of these insights make me a bit worried! I mean, if companies are slower to adopt a holistic social media perspective in Sweden we will soon lose the momentum of innovation compared to our competition. Imagine if we performed a case study between two sales teams with two different conditions regarding technological tools. Imagine then that one sales team was not allowed to use mobile phones or email in their sales process to communicate with their customers, and the other team was allowed to use these tools. Do you think the first team will have any chance to beat the other sales team’s performance and productivity? I don’t think so! And it will not take long before that productivity is manifested into a stronger bottom line. So how open is your company to change in order to improve your overall performance in sales?

Gap Creating

Knowing that the biggest difference is how people adapt to change is a serious problem long term. Social business innovating companies are creating a gap in relation to their industry peers because of the cultural differences (interview with Amber Naslund). I think companies who are asking for the money proof before they enter the social business arena are looking for the wrong facts. Instead you must ask yourself: Will people stop using mobile devices? Will that ever happen? Probably not! So then it’s all about adapting and the only way to handle social innovation is by doing it. You must understand that the reason why I’m so eager to explore this is because this is how business will be done tomorrow. And to quote Brian Solis: “It’s not business leaders who will figure out what they should do”. It will be innovating leaders who figure it out, are you a leader?

Does It Makes Sense?

What do you think when I share my thoughts with you here?

It’s a time to innovate, it’s time to get things off the ground!

I am writing this post from The Lost Bean in Tustin California. They have great coffee and the wifi is decent enough to manage my social presence. In front of me on the wall I have both the Facebook and Yelp logo, beneath these logos I can read a text that says: Check in on Facebook or Yelp and receive 10% off your purchase today. When I asked the guy behind the counter he told me that 40% of their customers are using the offer and since they launched it their Facebook page has skyrocketed. Do you get the picture here?

Behavior Patterns

The picture we need to comprehend here is how the connected consumer seek advice regarding your products and taking purchase decisions through conversations with their trusted peers on mobile devices. This is what drives the online connected consumer today. So looking from this perspective it’s more and more about behavioral patterns and not about social media, you must understand how the connected consumer is buying your products. Even if I lead with a coffee example here, please don’t shut off your curiosity if you are running in the B2B trenches. You must map your customers’ behaviors and adapt to evolve into holistic customer journey, this is not a check in the box!

Small Town Rules

My friend Niklas just went off the phone and told me a great example how this looks in reality. When he was booking an appointment the other person said exactly this: Looks like we need to meet at The Lost Bean because it’s the best place according to Yelp. If you don’t get the importance of dipping your toe in the water and adapt after that sentence I don’t know what we should do to wake you up.

More Examples

Right after that when I checked into The Lost Bean my friend Le Chiahemi wrote a trusted advice for another coffee shop. Where do you think I will hang out when I visit this neighborhood? Looks like Venice Grind have developed something nice here.

Be Curious

One of the purposes with my trip to California was to experience the difference between how connected consumers are using social media in relation to Scandinavia. I’m curious because I want to get a broader perspective how brands adapt to this communication shift over here compared to Scandinavia. I’m not amazed that I hear the same excuses and objections towards social media on this side of the pond like I hear back in Sweden. So the grass is not greener over here if you thought that. But I can tell you there is a huge cultural difference and there you may have the main reason why it’s a gap between US and Scandinavia in social innovation. You need to have a curious attitude to lead and transform your industry. “Because business leaders will not figure it out by themselves” like Brian Solis said when he joined us via Skype at Chapman University yesterday. My friend Niklas Myhr recorded it; check it out here!

How About You?

Does this make sense? What do you think? I will soon talk more about what I have learned from touring San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

I received a challenge from my social media friend Jocelyn at JW Social Media to write 7 personal things about myself. So here we go! First let’s sort out this thing with my surname “Grönborg” as we spell it in Swedish. I more and more spell it “Gronborg” online because it is still very common that different search queries don’t pick up Ö as O. I don’t like the passport version “Groenborg”, I mean where did they get that “e” from? When I was a kid I thought they translated your surname when you were traveling abroad. So I was translating my name from Swedish to English as “GreenCastle”. It would have been cool!

Grew Up On A Farm

I was born and raised on a farm in Sweden so the cowboy and hustler DNA is pumping in my veins. That I grew up on a farm is something I really appreciate today because I comprehend a lot of things regarding how the nature and agriculture cycle works. Sometimes I still get amazed how little people understand about these things. Remember that in school people often picked on us who lived in the “forest”. But today I feel pride to have an environmental perspective that few people have. I also think this is the reason why I have an increasing desire to learn more about sustainability today.

A Car Mechanic Dude

I went to the car mechanic program in high school and my dream back then was to get a job as a firefighter. During this time I learned that it was much more fun to drive cars than fix them. I still remember that day when my teacher said to me: Mattias I will be straight forward here and tell you what you need to do; if you want to get approved for this program. He was a smart teacher! He read me like an open book and he adapted. I was not hungry to learn and evolve back then. I was not mentally present during my school years, I was just floating by, without any purpose. When I was 28 I woke up and started my authentic journey. I love to ride bikes, drive cars and watch motor-sport. Watching Ken drifting is “a blast!”. I cruised with this Harley and got a lot of new ideas during a part of my life.

Played Ice Hockey

A huge influence in my life has been my great passion for sports and health. I grew up on an ice rink and devoted myself to hockey for 12 years. I was definitely not a talent, but this has given me a strong sense of discipline in whatever I do. When I started in sales I discovered that a lot of sales people were not willing to put in the hard work it takes to succeed with sales. It was in my sales career that I started to leverage everything I learned about discipline from sports.

Health Is A Part Of My Lifestyle

I have always been training and healthy food is a part of my lifestyle. I’m famous for my low blood sugar temper when I get hungry! Sorry for that! I have developed a training habit that support me so I consistently showing up at the gym. I often do outdoor training and in the picture below I joined some army freaks and it was a tough experience.

100% Apple Dude

Yes! I’m that person who Apple haters refer to when they complain how you are painting yourself into a corner using only Apple products and their services. But it fits me! I like the simplicity that everything always works when I start my different devices and I don’t care that Apple doesn’t let me organize my icons like I a want on my iPad. Steve Jobs was a hero!

Stockholm Always In My Heart

I live in Stockholm, a city which always will have a specific place in my heart no matter where this journey heading. I’m also a very devoted Djurgården Hockey fan and don’t mention the war about how we did this season 2012. We sucked this year! Sharing below my status update when we were knocked out from the highest series.

Many feelings now; but most pride because I’m a hardcore DIF fan 4 ever, and always #DIF. We will raise the shield again!

Can’t Sing But Dancing Sober

I own the self-esteem to dance sober, but it doesn’t look good, though! I was approximately 8 years old when I said to my mother after school “Mom why does it sound like I’m talking when the other kids are singing”? My mother gave me a very diplomatic answer. I have not taken a tone since then. I did a little attempt four years ago with the game “Sing Stars”. I failed again! My voice is probably one of my most unexplored talents. Can you help me?

Thanks for reading! I hope this gave you a little more personal picture who of I am and where I come from.

Can’t see the video click here!

Today I attended a networking event at #LinkedOC where I met Amber Naslund who is one of the co-authors of the book The Now Revolution: 7 Shifts to Make Your Business Faster, Smarter and More Social. I read this book last year and I still think it’s one of the best social media books you can read if you want a clear roadmap how you should integrate social media into your organization. So I was very grateful that Amber spent time with me for a short chat that made this video possible. Thanks Amber!

Having A Chat With Amber

In this video, Amber shares with us why the company culture is a significant factor if you want to reach success when integrating social media into your organization. One thing we can see in social media best practice examples is that they have an open collaborating attitude and inspire their people to create greatness. Every person in the company needs to be a part of this real time personality. This makes all the difference if you want to shift from doing social to being social. We also talk about the importance of blogging, why blogging is not dying and how risky it is to redirecting your company URL to rented space.

Bryan Elliott

Here I’m posing together with the founder of LinkedOC Bryan Elliott. Thanks Bryan for making this event possible!

Setup

@MattOliver115 and @NiklasMyhr put up some signs for the Event and they are very excited. Niklas also interviewed Amber.

Live Tweeting

#LinkedOC is the hashtag if you want to check out what people were tweeting about. I felt naked because there was no WiFi and I couldn’t use my Swedish SIM because Tele2 is charging me an arm and a leg for each tweet.

Q&A Session

Bryan was leading the Q&A session with Amber and in the picture you can see one of the participants asking questions.

After that I joined Niklas at Chapman University and listened to his classes about “Social Media For B2B”. Then I did a small quest gig for some very keen MBA students. I talked about personal branding and how you can use social media as a channel to build your brand on an individual basis.

Now I’m so tired and jet lagged, so I can’t even see what I’m writing about.

I read Jeremiah Owyang‘s blog post The Future Career of the Corporate Social Strategist at Web-Strategist.com. He said in that article that one of the biggest corporate opportunities today for the social strategist was to rise into the head of the customer service. I agree on that. Today the vast majority of companies have failed to adapt themselves to this culture shift of communication. Or maybe the right way ta say it; they haven’t even recognized the shift. The real time information makes the online consumer very demanding and this is very severe for inflexible organizations to grasp.

Head Of The Customer Service

I think the customer service experience is one of the biggest opportunities to grasp if you want to create a gap between yourself and your competitors. To succeed with this companies definitely need to have a person that comprehend the entire customer journey from awareness, consideration, purchase, support, and beyond (infographic).

The Only Thing That Counts

Forget about old customer index when you were looking at a graph that said you had satisfied customers. A customer can be satisfied but still perceiving your brand as something else. When I’m waiting in a telephone cue listening to bad elevator music I expect to be abused. Why? Because that’s how it is today! Even if they solved my matter in a smooth way I could still think that the totally customer journey with that brand was crap. It’s the same thing with the majority stores and restaurants. Of course we have the exceptions, and that’s good we need to celebrate them. But many of the leading companies that deliver authentic customer service still miss out the holistic picture of the entire customer journey both online and offline. In today’s business world the only customers that for sure comes back are those that you successfully takes beyond “satisfied”; so the only thing that counts are hardcore fans.

The Worst Excuse

-Our customers are not using social media!

Honestly, if you say that, you are saying that your customers are not using Internet. Every single person who touch a key board 2012 is somehow affecting or affected by this thing called social media. Social media is Internet today, period! Stop drawing lines in the sand you are only killing yourself; but if that’s your goal? I should not disturb you. But for you who are willing to explore and improve the customer journey is very welcome to participate in this very important topic. I will tell you here what I believe in, and I look forward to read your thoughts as well.

Decide What You Want

I have said it before, raving customer service is all about building and evolving your company culture. You must have a clear vision of what kind of customer journey you want your organization to breath, this is a key ingredient to create raving customers. This vision should permeate through the entire organization, every single person in your company is a potential touch-point with your customers, this vision is not only for marketing and service people.

Discover What Customers Wants

I told you that listening is an underestimated word in customer service in our modern economy. It’s important to pay attention to both satisfied and dissatisfied customers. Using social media as a listening platform is great opportunity to comprehend what some of the silent customer thinks about your brand. The silent customer is the customer whom says nothing or maybe just “it’s good”. I know that many marketers put’s that on the scoreboard as a satisfied customer. Though, silent customers are a key factor to learn from if you want to improve the customer journey.

Taking Action And Deliver

It’s so important to listen, but remember taking action and responding to what customers say; separates you from a lot of competition. A very important cornerstone for business success is always consistency. You need to show up on daily basis to make the difference for your customers and you need to deliver more than they expected to reach beyond the level of satisfied customers. Consistency is an important factor when it comes to building relationships that’s why I always repeating that social media is not a campaign. Sometimes we over promise and under deliver, this is human! I have found that the H.E.A.T model is a great way to turn these mistakes around and even build a profoundly better relationship with your customers; let’s make them rave!

Your Turn

Have you over promised and under delivered sometime? I would love to hear you sharing an experience when you won back a dissatisfied customer and how you did it. And thanks Jeremiah for inspiring me to write!

I Remember when I was strolling around at Borough Market in London, it was people everywhere and all kind of merchants were crowding to grasp potential customers attention. My cousin lives in London so she knows where we should shop and eat so I was just following her lead. She gave me insights and stories about everything meanwhile we tasted food, smelled spices and different coffee flavors. I picked up a very tasteful India chicken dish, I stayed for a moment and began to observe other people. I then discovered how I experienced this market with all my senses and it was my cousin who had initiated my experience by sharing her experiences. And this is the interesting part of it; we are always sharing our experiences and we love to buy with friends.

Social Commerce

Social commerce is when brands integrate social networks as a layer in the buying process, this is much more than a new channel to sell in. So forget about approaching social commerce if you still think social media is about pushing your advertisement and product catalogues. I think Brian Solis said it very good in his book The End of Business As Usual (affiliate link) social commerce is the ability to shift social media from a cost center to a profit center. People love to share with their social graph both online and offline; we are liking, commenting, purchasing, reviewing products and asking for purchase consideration. And all of this is ending up into our friends social streams and this affects their decisions and brands bottom line.

The Fifth C Of Community

Content is the first C: Compelling content is what continues to draw people to your business.

Conversation is the second C: The first thing is always to put your ear to the ground and listen to your customers ideas; you have got to listen hard all the time. In the end of the day; you must discover what the customer wants, then we should initiate the conversation to give potential customers a voice and interact with them. If you take the time to get the conversation going, customers will sense you’re serious and will respond, this process will also evolve your content to be even more compelling.

Connection is the third C: When you ask a connected consumer why they usually connect with brands in social networks the top reason very often is access to special offers and promotions; they want to be part of something bigger. Very often we can see a misconception here because brands think often that consumers connects with them because of content. We must seek a balance here! Connected consumers do not want to leave their network of relevance and brands need to figure out the best way to solve this challenge.

Continuity is the fourth C: Continuity makes the wheel spinning and you need to frequently showing up with incentives and create new values for your community.

Commerce is the fifth C: Brian Solis talks about how social commerce is the fifth C of community and how social commerce is an opportunity to monetize your community by going from a cost center to a profit center. Whether it’s in Facebook (Apple app store) or integrating the Facebook login into the dot.com (1-800-Flower.com) the social effect is built into the system. This Makes life easier for the customer who don’t need a new login for each eCommerce store and companies benefits with the ability to be a part of the customers social graph and getting additional insights. Brands can then start fishing where the fish are. Social commerce takes traditional shopping to the next level and on this level customers share the shopping experiences with friends. This is more like shopping in real life. Shopping then becomes more like my story in the beginning of this post where we evoke more of our senses in the shopping experience.

Your Experience

Are using the Facebook login if an e-commerce store provide you with that choice? What is your experiences with social commerce?

Sometimes I wonder what has happened with customer service in our modern economy, and how much will these companies bleed before they realize that their customer service vision are horrible. Today I was sitting at a coffee shop here in Stockholm besides a woman who was arguing with Tele2 over the phone, and no! I don’t usually listen to peoples phone calls but I can tell you that it was impossible to miss this because of her furious frustration, plus that it reminded me of when I talked to Tele2 last time too; they were not listening… It’s sad!

Not Always Right, Or?

I have been working with sales for 12 years so I know, it’s not always the case that the customer is leading with the authentic truth; so to speak! As in this case I had no background history why this woman was upset, but I could feel her frustration; the customer service person was not listening to her feedback to understand her needs and desires. The customer service failed to give her what she needed as a customer because they didn’t never really comprehended her needs. The woman become even more upset in the end because the customer service rejected her as a person by not listening to her. The customer service was indirectly saying her thoughts have no value at all.

The Aftershocks

The bigger picture here is that at least 6 person couldn’t avoid how Tele2 failed with this customer because they were drinking coffee and watched the show on the front row. I can promise you that this woman has already shared her experience with a couple of more friends, and then this failing customer service moment ended up online because I started to discuss it with my friend Robert on Google+. This is the aftershocks which makes the bottom line bleed, why? Because people are turning to their social media streams for buying advices 2012, are you aware of that?

Conclusion

Two things are very often for sure: One those people are not listening to customers need either online or offline as in this case, and two, they don’t want authentic fans who is waving their flag. It’s so important to listen, but remember taking action and responding to what customers say; separates you from a lot of competition.

Your Thoughts

What do you think are important to consider if you want to build raving customers 2012?

There was no doubt that mobile recruiting was a hot topic when I attended #truStockholm. One thing seemed very clear for me when I listened to the industry at this event regarding this topic: Job seekers are running mobile and many employers can’t spell to “mobile” yet.

What Is Mobile Recruitment?

This is when companies adding mobile technology as an extra channel for attracting new talents, it could be career apps, mobile videos, mobile social tools, SMS, QR-campaigns, Geo location etc. Though, It seems that there are some challenges for employers here. So I wanted to seek more knowledge about these challenges so I asked Don Fontijn who led the mobile track at TruStockholm if he could share some more insights regarding mobile recruitment with me.

Q&A With Don Fontijn

Don is the Marketing Director at Maddle, and his answers gave me such valuable insights in these matters so I made a question and answer post so also you can get a taste of his insights as well. Let’s start!

First Question

Mattias: Can you give us some of the biggest mistakes you see corporate making regarding mobile recruitment and, why they are making them?

Don: There are a couple of mistakes, but as mobile is a relatively new channel in the recruitment sector this is understandable. Firstly there is the misconception that a mobile strategy would replace certain tools in your existing strategy/work-flow. I would rather say that going mobile is adding an extra tool or channel to your, hopefully, already successful way of recruiting. Try to incorporate the mobile channel as much as possible in your present work-flow and fill the gaps with mobile recruiting. For example a lot of companies are posting their jobs on twitter. Definitely a great channel to get your job out there but the link that is in the tweet will direct you 95% of the time to a normal desktop website. And since about 70% of all tweets are read through a mobile device nowadays it’s likely that you are missing out on a lot of candidates by NOT having a mobile friendly career site. Candidates are ready for mobile and employers have to start understanding and accepting that.

Second Question

Mattias: What are your views about cover letters vs mobile recruitment? How important do you think cover letters are today? and how important will they be two years from now?

Don: As I mentioned in a tweet during #TruStockholm I think that if mobile recruitment is taking over a substantial part of the recruitment sector it’s very likely that the cover letter will not survive. A CV should speak for itself and a LinkedIn profile already offers so much more then just a listing of work experience.

Besides, what would you prefer more. A standard cover letter from the candidate that is adjusted to the company and date of application (which happens a lot as we all know), or specific answers to problems the candidate should be able to solve when he or she gets hired? I think we are going in the direction of that last one. As @perfrykman said during my mobile track in Stockholm, “HR/recruiters should focus more on the future of a candidate rather then on their past”. I think he is completely right!

Try to solve problems instead of just filling positions. A cover letter doesn’t help you get your answers. 4, maybe 5 questions that people can answer in the length of a tweet will give you a good insight in the candidates’ ideas about a certain problem and also creates the right candidate experience for mobile.

Third Question

Mattias: What is the difference on a daily basis for a HR department who is working with mobile recruitment?

Don: There shouldn’t be a difference for the HR department. In an ideal situation the mobile recruitment tool(s) should be fully integrated in the existing work-flow. As mentioned in the earlier questions above there are a lot of things in the existing work-flow of companies that should be mobile. Adapt and add mobile things to this work-flow and you are ready for the future. I predict that mobile will earn you more ROI (read candidates) then any other channel in the (very) near future. This prediction is based on dozens of reports, analyses, conversations plus my personal views.

Fourth Question

Mattias: Where do you see the industry heading in the next few years? Give me the mile high view!

Don: Without pretending to be Jules Verne I expect a revolutionary change in the world that is called HR. Things will speed up rapidly in the coming years as we will face a changing labor market, the uprising of new (unbelievable) technologies, the development of Internet in general (we haven’t seen everything yet), etc. The key subjects for the next couple of years, if you ask me, are referral recruitment, the candidate experience, “Glocal” (Think global, Act Local) and, of course, Mobile.

Fifth Question

Mattias: Where can folks learn more about your company and your services?

It’s Your Turn

Any questions to Don?

My last push here: Mobile recruitment is now the reality and not the next big thing. Honestly, are your career site friendly for mobile job seekers? I also wrote about this important business question in an earlier blog post.

Thanks Don for providing us with your insights!
