Free up internal memory on Nexus One

One problem driving me nuts lately is the low internal space warning on my Nexus One. I found a great idea described by James Cridland in his blogpost "Make more internal storage space on Android".

He moves the big hitter on the internal memory into the system partition. To figure out the apps with the larges memory footprint i recommend DiskUsage. The tool of choice for moving the apps is Titanium Backup, one of my swiss army knife tools anyway. I moved Facebook, Google Music and Google Mail into the system partition and this already solved my memory problems.

One thing to keep in my: Any coming application update has to be moves manually using the same method manually again. But this 10 seconds are time well spend.

Freedom for the Eee Pad

Lets get it done, lets root the Eee Pad. Main requirement is, that I do not want to run a experimental ROM different from the stock Asus ROM at this point and time. Just root, thats it. It took me a while to find a good tutorial to root without any more modification, but as always XDA is your friend. I followd strictly the guide from mashi, he wrote the article [ROM] UPDATED Transformer 3.1 pure root tw/us/ww (8.4.4.5 and 8.4.4.11).

Just follow this tutorial, without actually using your brain, and 15 Minutes later your Pad has Root.

A suggestion: Also run trough Step 6, install and update the Clockwork recovery. This will be a valuable tool later to update your Pad.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101

I tried to resist, for a while, but the Eee Pad is just the right package, features and price wise. For 399€ you get what you need, without the M* issues on software updates and the A* thing regarding price...

So expect in the next post to get the results of my rooting attempt. Why? Adblock, Titanium Backup and Root Explorer to uninstall Bloodware are 3 valid reason to do so.

My first own Android App: Spiegel Mobil (Open Source)

This is my first Android Application. Usecase is to wrap the content of mobil.spiegel.de, my favorit news source into a convenient tabbed app. This is my first Android project, only done for my own use. If you like it, feel free to use it.

The application is open source, I do not plan to make any money with it... I just tried to learn Android programming using the Eclipse platform plus getting an application I was missing in the market. Let me know if you think that I should publish the App in the Android Market.

Requirements: Android Version 2.1-update1 (API Level 7) up to API Level 10.

Restrictions:

Spiegel mobile is a German magazine with 99% German content. Only exception is an English frontpage. You can enable this in the settings menu.

I developed the App specifically for and on a Nexus One, running 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) and physically tested it also on a Motorola Milestone. All this are HDPI devices, so I have no clue how it runs on other machines.

ToDo-List

Internationalization: All strings are currently in German, I need to at least setup an English strings.xml to support this.

Swipe Gestures: Swipe Gestures are already implemented, but need a lot of more work. First the sensitivity sucks quit a bit. Secondly changing the tabs always reloads the content in the current implementation. Currently I have no clue how to resolve this.

Clean Cache: The Webview I use caches the information loaded. At some point it makes sense to clean the cache initiated from within the application.

Chang Tab Order: Would be cool if you leave any comments after installing and running the app for a while.

N1: Gingerbread 2.3.1 CM7 Alpha up and running

For the last 3 days my Nexus One is running the first Alpha build of Cyanogens Gingerbread 2.3.1 CM7. In the past I did not jump on Alpha builds, but for whatever reasons this time I could not resist. But as you can see on the screenshots, no disappointment at all. The N1 runs great, and I use this phone with this software build as my primary phone.

So far I could not discover any major issues. Sure, some features are still missing compared to the Froyo CM6 build, but nothing what really prevents me from sticking to this configuration. While writing this article I'm installing the build #8, lets see how the team progressed during the last couple of days. Just remember, you need to have ROOT access to your NexusOne and a custom recovery installed. In this blog your find a lot of posts how to do. I'm still running the good old AMON_RA recovery.

FO: Motorola FlipOut - Rooted

Yesterday I received my new Motorola Flipout... Nice little toy, as backup phone to carry around just right. And today I found the time to root this device to enable apps as Titanium Backup, AdFree and so on. And as there are no tutorials on the web at this point and time... here it goes. It is fairly easy.

1) Get general Root Access with Universal Root

Just head over to the official site and grap the APK. I used version Universal Androot 1.6.2 beta 5. A backup copy is also in my dropbox.

2) Install the APK

Copy the apk to your SD card and install using a filemanager of you choice.

3) Get Root Access

Run the install APK. Test also from ADB if you can gain root acces.

4) Install BusyBox

Busybox gives you a bunch of other linux commands required to hack the phone but also required by some application like TitaniumBackup. The files flying around in the net, but a copy is in my dropbox (version 1.60). Unzip the binary first. Copy the binary to the devices:

adb push busybox /data/local/busybox
adb shell
chmod 0755 /data/local/busybox

And you are done. TitaniumBackup recognizes the hack and runs perfect. Now you are able to uninstall applikation you really do not need on your phone.

N1: CM 6.0 RC1 - FroYo is there

Finally, Froyo by @cyanogen is here. Here the log of the Installation coming from CM5.0.8 as i did it.

1) Download System Software: You need the actual FroYo Baseline as well as the new Google Apps (GApps). Please both files on your SD Card (root directory). Make sure, you have the FroYo Radio installed. Read an older blogpost how to do it.

1) Do a FULL WIPE: Do it, nothing else makes sense. You can use programs like Titanium Backup to restore your apps, but I strongly recommend to do it. Do it using your custom Recovery.

3) Installation: Reboot into recovery, to this wipe. Now install the Android 2.2 first, GApps second. Reboot and done.

If you just follow the instruction, everything will run smooth. Now restore your apps and you are ready to go. Linpack now gives me a score of 40, compared to 7 with Android 2.1 (compared to 3 on the G1 even with JIT enabled... crazy).

Some Issues you need to take care of manually:

1) Market Slow: Just check my previous post on this issues. This fixed this as well here.

2) No protected apps in market: You need to modify your build.prop in /system that the market sees you as ERE27, this gives you your protected apps back. You can download this file I'm using now in my N1, tested and works great. Install using adb:

adb remount
adb shell rm /system/build.prop
adb push froyo.prop /system/build.prop
adb shell reboot

After reboot, open the dialer and type the following: *#*#CHECKIN#*#* which is *#*#2432546#*#*

A message did pop up into the status bar after a few seconds saying "check in success".

3) GPRS/HSDPA performance: /system/build.prop needs to be patched. This line:

ro.ril.hsxpa=1 needs to be changed to ro.ril.hsxpa=2
ro.ril.gprsclass=10 needs to be changed to ro.ril.gprsclass=12

Again, my modified build.prop already includes this lines as well. You can download this file I'm using now in my N1, tested and works great.

My system is running smooth and stable. So I can recommend installing the RC1.

N1/G1: Market Slowness and Accessibility

After upgrading to the latest Cyanogen I notices, that the Android Market is quiet slow and does not show my downloaded apps in the download section. 2 Fixes to repair this:

1) Take the following source and save in file named vending_preferences.xml

N1: Cyanogen 5.0.8 (Test 5) including Radio Update

After reading a lot about Froyo I decided to stick with the current Android 2.1 builds from Cyanogen. He will release a Froyo Android 2.2 build as soon as the sources are available. So why going to 5.0.8: First of all, the system on the N1 is further improved, faster and stable. In addition the ADW Launcher from AnderWeb is integrated as the Music Mode from @eliotstocker.

1) Update to the new 406 Radio

Download the radio from this source. Power up with Trackball hold to get into fastboot. Now conntect the N1 to the PC and:

Get the file here, from the official repository from Cyanongen.Copy the file to the root of SD Card and go into recovery menu. Flash the zip file, reboot and done.

Summary: I did the update a couple of hours ago, and everything runs great. Now we just have to wait for the final 5.0.8 build, expected at the weekend.

G1: Android 2.1 - CM5 V5.0.7 [fixed]

Yes, I could not wait until Cyanogen releases his stable version of the Android 2.1 port for the G1. Must be SARF (Serious Absence of Regular Flashing)... Here the how-did-I:

1. Do a Nandroid backup

2. Install the DangerSPL if you don't already have it

3. WIPE

4. Install the ROM

5. Install the Google Addon
6. Fix Radio Bug

A) Boot Loader - SPL

You need the Danger SPL for Andoid 2.1 You want to check first if you not already installed the Danger SPL, as I did for Super D Rom some time ago: "Boot into fastboot mode by turning the phone on while holding the power button and the camera. The second line contains your SPL version. If it ends in 2005 (eg 1.33.2005) then you have DangerSPL installed already". If not, just follow the Instructions.

B) CM5 V5.0.7 - Test 2

Get the files (ROM and GAPPS) from the CyanogenMod Forum and put them on your SD Card. Reboot into recovery, wipe, flash, reboot.

In my case, everything went smooth and easy. My G1 delivered after installation a Linpack Score of 2.1.

C) Install JIT (do not)

As i had very good experiance and results using JIT on my G1 running Donut, I decided to give JIT in this new configuration a try. Download and install the JIT patch from the forum and reboot.

My Linpack Score jumped to 3.5. Not so bad, I guess. So nothing wrong with trying this new config.

[Correction] JIT creates some crazy issues... I went back and reflashed the CM5 to get rid of the JIT... and the result is a very stable and responsive G1, even without JIT. So I would recommend not to use JIT with CM5 running on the G1.

D) Fix Radio Lib

Within the Test2 version is a serous bug concerning the radio of the G1. Currently you need manually revert a lib file to the Test1 version. It is the file LIBHTC_RIL.SO in /system/lib. Try this link to get the file out of my public dropbox.

adb shell chmod 644 /system/lib/libhtc_ril.so

After replacing the file the G1 is running smooth without any issues.

G1: JIT enabled Dalvik VM running CM 4.2.15.1

Finally I got the JIT enabled Dalvik VM running on my CM 4.2.15.1 installation again. Main reason for some problems where the change of some directory location in 4.2.15.1. But fix is easy. So:

Get the JIT hack, extract the ZIP and put it onto your SD. In addition your get the modified install script and push it onto your SD as well. Now reboot into recovery, get a console prompt and execute:

e2fsck -fcpDC0 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
mount -a
cd /sdcard/dusted-donuts/
sh install-plus

Done. Now the G1 is back over 3 MFlops.

G1: Back to Cyanogen plus new Radio Image

Ok, I did it and tried the Super D Rom. But since yesterday I'm back with my G1 Dream on the CyanogenMod. The speed of Super D is ok, but do not make one mistake: Do not compare a Cyanogen Mod after a bunch of ROM upgrades and millions of application installations and uninstallations. If you complete wipe you phone a do a clean install from scratch, you phone will probaly run with any mod.

So, as mentioned, I completely wiped my G1 and installed first the new radio image. I strongly recommend you to do this as well, the improvements are significant.

Next was a clean install of the new Cyanogen 4.2.15.1. Last I installed the 10MB patch, I decided to go for the EXTRA version. It is realeased for the 4.2.15 but works on my 4.2.15.1 just great.

Don't try the modified Dalvik VM JIT hack, this patch does not work on 4.2.15.1. And believe me, there is no reason to do so. The configuration described here is blazing fast for a G1 Dream.

G1: Super D1.9.3 mit JIT Dalvik Virtual Maschine

In dem Moment in dem man ein NexusOne in der Hand hatte, kommt einem automatisch das G1 träge und langsam vor.... Abhilfe geht über mehrere Varianten, Overclocking die eine, die JIT enabled Dalvik Virtual Maschine die andere... Overclocking nutze ich begrenzt, um die Akkulebenszeit nicht unnötig zu verkürzen. Daher habe ich heute mein G1 mit dem JIT DalvikVM aufgebohrt, und das mit guten Ergebnissen.

Pre-JIT : 2.3 Mflops/s
Post-JIT: 3.5 Mflops/s

1) Filesystem reparieren: Das G1 in den Recovery Mode bringen (Boot mit Home + Power) und dort die Console starten. Folgende Kommandos:

e2fsck -fcpDC0 /*/*/*0p2
reboot

2) JIT Installieren: ZIP downloaden und auf die SD Karte entpacken (/sdcard/dusted-donuts). Am besten mit ADB via USB am PC. Dann ADB (adb shell) auf dem PC starten und folgende Kommandos:

su
mount -o rw,remount auto /sdcard
cd /sdcard/dusted-donuts
sh backup
sh install
sync
reboot

Das wars auch schon. Danach lief das G1 fantastisch schneller, wie die oben genannten MFlops zeigen.

G1: Flash von CM auf SUPER D 1.9.3

Seit mein G1 nicht mehr mein primäres Telefon ist und zusätzlich sich das Cyan ROM etwas langsam anfühlt habe ich mich entschieden auf das SUPER-D ROM zu wechseln.

Voraussetzung

Unbedingt überprüfen, ob ein PVT oder DVT Bord im G1 steckt. Wenn ihr ein DVT Bord habt - hier aufhören, sonst bricked ihr das G1.

G1 mit Kamera + Power einschalten um in den Bootloader zu kommen
Check ob PVT DVT

1) Notwendige Dateien

Aktuelle Radio 2.22.19.26I aus Saphir-port-Dream
Danger SPL 1.33.2005 aus Saphir-port-Dream
Super D ROM von Ben Buchacher Download via XDA

Kopiert alle 3 ZIP-Dateien in das Stammverzeichnis der SD-Card.

2) Installation

Alles wird über das Recovery Menu installiert (Boot mit Home + Power). Ich hatte einen kompletten Wipe gemacht, ist wahrscheinlich auch besser bei solchen ROM Wechseln. Nun im Recovery Menu:

1 - Scrollt nach unten und drückt auf "Apply any zip from sd", wählt das Radio ZIP-Datei. Einfach installieren lassen, danach Reboot um das Update zu beenden.
2 - Zurück im Recovery, "Apply any zip from sd" und wählt die ZIP-Datei des SPL. Einfach installieren lassen, danach Reboot um das Update zu beenden. 3. Zurück im Recovery, "Apply any zip from sd" und wählt die ROM ZIP-Datei. Reboot um das Update zu beenden.

Meine Tastatur-Layout wurde auf US eingestellt, wegen der Installation des Danger SPL. Abhilfe schafft ein Fix aus dem Android-Hilfe (. De) Forum, einfach Flash via Recovery Menü.

Alles ging glatt auf meinem G1, und es fühlt sich schneller und knackiger als zuvor mit der Cyan Build an.

Tuning:

Heute habe ich auf Super D 1.9.3 mit dem HighMem Hack gewechselt und zusätzlich den DalvikVM JIT Hack installiert... Unglaublich, das G1 rennt jetzt aber richtig. Später mehr.

G1: Switch from CM to SUPER D 1.9.2

Since my G1 in not my primary Phone anymore and in addition the Cyanogen ROM feels a kind of slow I did some research on other, faster ROM for my G1. I decided to go for the SUPER D ROM.

Prerequisite

You need to check if you have a PVT or DVT board, therefore:

Power off your phone and enter bootloader (Camera + Power)
Check look at the top and see if it says PVT of DVT

If you have a DVT board, stop here, otherwise you brick your phone.

1) Files needed

Latest Radio 2.22.19.26I from sapphire-port-dream
Danger SPL 1.33.2005 from sapphire-port-dream
Super D ROM from Ben Buchacher download via XDA

Install all 3 ZIP Files to the root of your SD Card.

2) Installation

Everything you do from the Recovery Menu (Boot with Home + Power). Make sure you have Amon_RA installed. I decided for a full WIPE, therefore within the Recovery i wiped everything, full factory reset.

1 - Scroll down and press on "Apply any zip from sd", select the Radio ZIP file. Let it install. Once done it will tell your to reboot to finish the update. Press on Reboot System now in the recovery menu.

2 - Back to recovery, scroll down and press on "Apply any zip from sd", select the the SPL ZIP file. Let it install. Once done it will tell your to reboot to finish the update. Press on Reboot System now in the recovery menu.

(If it does NOT reboot into recovery, your phone will be stuck on the G1 screen. Once it gets there, reboot your phone by pressing Talk+Menu+Power and then hold the HOME button to enter back into recovery)

3. Scroll down and press on "Apply any zip from sd", select the ROM ZIP file and let it install. Reboot your phone to finish.

One issue: My Keyboard layout was set to the US setting, due to the Danger SPL flash. But there is help in the Android Hilfe (.de) forum. Just download the file behind the link and flash via Recovery Menu.

Everything went smooth on my G1, and it feels faster and snappier than before with the Cyanogen Build.

N1: Cyanogen 5.0.3.1, HTC_IME Keyboard and Recovery

Some quick updates from last week:

1) Cyanogen Update to 5.0.3.1

Most interesting is the chance to Kernel 2.6.32.8. Just get it from XDA and flash as usual using recovery menu.

2) Amon_Ra Recocery

Amon_Ra also issued a new recovery menu. Get it from XDA and use my installation instruction.

3) HTC_IME Keyboard

I installed every possible soft keyboard available, but finally I found something thats get the job done - the HTC_IME Keyboard. Get it here.

Der Screenshot zeigt die neuen Versionsnummern.

3) Wiederherstellen der Google Maps mit Navigation

Teil des Google ERE36B Updates is die Maps.apk. Um die Navigation wieder in Deutschland zum laufen zu brinen muss diese Version deinstalliert und die gehackte von Brut installiert werden. Die aktuelle Version 4.0 gibt es auch im XDA Forum.

Uninstall:

First, as always perform a Nandroid Backup via Recovery Menu. Now:

1) Update Radio

Power up with Trackball hold to get into fastboot. Now conntect the N1 to the PC and:

Copy the files from the XDA forum to the root of SD Card and go into recovery menu. Flash the zip files, first the CM5.0 and thereafter the Google Addon ERE36B update. Reboot and done.

The pics shows the new version.

3) Restore hacked Google Maps with Navigation (only for outside US)

Part of the Google ERE36B is a Maps.apk. To get Navigation running again you need to uninstall this version and install the hack Version again as described in a previous post. Get the latest 4.0 version out of this XDA forum. Now remove the current version of Maps, I use ADB:

Uninstall the Maps from the system:

N1: Integrate Google OTA Update on CM5.0 Beta 4

Probably the only disadvantage running a custom ROM is, that you are left out from any OTA Updates for your device. Google issued an update some days ago including some good stuff like Multitouch for Maps, Gallery and Browser (yes ... I know, we have it already from Cyanongen ;-) and a Radio Update to fix the 3G issues some user experienced.

But in his XDA Forum Cyanogen supplied all necessary data to implement all this stuff on the rooted and cyanogenized NexusOne as well. Here it goes, assuming you are already on Beta 4:

1) Radio Update

Flash Radio in Fastboot Mode (Power on with Trackball and Power On pressed):

N:\OTAUpdate>fastboot devices

N:\OTAUpdate>fastboot flash radio radio-ERE27.img

2) Google OTA Application Update

3) Multitouch Addon

Flash the Beta4 Multitouch Addon file (mt-addon-CM5-beta4-signed.zip) using the Recovery Menu.

Worked flawless on my N1.

N1/G1: Multitouch Google Maps with Navigation Version 3.4.0 outside US [Germany]

With the Google OTA Update for the N1 a new Version of Google Maps/Navigation became available. Most interesting is the support for Multitouch. As I'm on CyanogenMode 5.0 i did not get the OTA upate, I will describe in another post how to install all the goodies manually. One thing very important for me to get the new Google Maps with Navigation to run on my N1 as well as on my G1.

Source for the files is the XDA Forum. Brut.all did an amazing job again to get this stuff up and running. And yes, the Navigation works just great on both mobiles here in Germany. There are multiple options to get this done, but as my Phones are rooted, I went for the [3: Hacked International Nav with MT by Brut.all]. Download the file maps3.4.0-brut3-MT.apk and copy it somewhere on your computer. Now use adb (adb shell) to get the job done.

1) Installation on the NexusOne

Delete the installed Maps.apk first:

mount -o remount,rw /system

rm /system/app/Maps.apk

pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

Now install the Hack:

pm install /sdcard/maps3.4.0-brut3-MT.apk

Done.

2) Installation on the G1 Dream

Here I was successful just updating the installed version, but I already had the previous hack from Brut.all on my machine.

N1: CyanogenMode C5.0 Beta 4 - HighMem

Die lang erwartete Beta 4 von Cyanogen CM5 is seit heute früh verfügbar. Der interessanteste Teil sind die nun im Build enthaltenen HighMem Routinen, welche man noch in früheren Builds manuell installieren musste. Hier ein Blick auf den verfügbaren Speicher:

Perfekt! Installation ist einfach wie immer, wenn dein N1 gerooted sowie das Amon_Ra Recovery Menu installiert ist. Einfach die Datei vom XDA Forum laden, auf die SD Karte kopieren und mittels Recovery installieren. Fertig.

N1: CyanogenMode C5.0 Beta 4 - HighMem

The long awaited Beta 4 of Cyanogen CM5 is now available. Most interesting part of is the include of the HighMem Routines you needed to flash seperat on top of the previous builds. Lets take a look at the free memory on the Nexus One:

This is really great stuff. Installation is easy as always if you are rooted and have the Amon_Ra Recovery Menu installed on your N1. Just download the file from the XDA Forum, copy it onto the sdcard, jump into recovery and update using the zip file.

N1: CM 5.0 Beta 3 HomeScreen und Tweaks

Und so sieht der Homescreem auf meinem Nexus One Momentan aus. Eine sichtbare Veränderung ist der "Black Notification Bar". Eingespielt mit Metamorph (Android Markt) und das Thema Smooth Black Bar from XDA (Know-Fear).

Das Mail Icon ist die Applikation "Gmail Unread Count" von Alexander Blom, das Messaging Icon auch mit der Eigenschaft die Anzahlt der ungelesenen SMS anzuzeugen ist die App "SMS Unread Count" von Kanokgems.

Darunter läuft Cyanogen Mode CM5.0 Beta 3 mit dem MemHack released by Cyanogen. Ich benutze momentan den 2.6.29 Kernel, ohne JIT.

Diese Konfiguration sieht nicht nur gut aus sondern läuft auch spitze

N1: CyanogenMod 5.0 Beta - Nexus auf Sterioden

Endlich finde ich mal die Zeit alle Tweaks und Hacks zu beschreiben, die ich in der letzen Zeit auf mein N1 eingespielt habe. Das Wichtigste wohl der Umstieg auf Cyanogen 5.0 Beta, momentan Beta 3. Hier der Weg:

1) Backup N1

Ich habe ein Backup der Dateien in /system/app als auch /data/app and /data/app-private gemacht. Dazu "Backup for Root" aus dem Android Markt zum Backup von Daten und Einstellungen. Ein Nandroid Backup kommt noch, wenn wir im Recovery Menu sind.

2) Download Files aus dem XDA Forum

Cyanogen unterstützt den CM Updater noch nicht, dass CM5.0 noch ein Beta Release ist. Daher einfach die Dateien von XDA laden und auf der SD Karte (Root) speichner. Ihr braucht 2 Dateien: Zum einen das CM5 Beta 3 (update-cm-5.0-N1-beta3-signed.zip) und zusätzlich die Google Apps (gapps-passion-ERD79-signed.zip) da nach der C&D Aktion mit Google Cyanogen diese Google Dateien nicht mehr in sein ROM einbauen darf. Wichtig: Die Google Apps braucht ihr nur, wenn ihr CM5.0 zum ersten Mal auf Eurem N1 installiert. Danach braucht ihr nur noch das CM Update!

3) Recovery/Wipe/Install

Nun ab ins Recovery Menu vom N1. Hier folgende Schritte:

a) Nandroid Backup.

b) Wipe/Factory Reset - Als frischer Start für das neue System, auch nur beim ersten Install.

c) Install ZIP file - update-cm-5.0-N1-beta2-signed.zip

d) Install ZIP GApps - gapps-passion-ERD79-signed.zip

Reboot - Fertig.

4) Memory Patch

Cyanogen hat einen MemHack in seinem Repository zur Verfügung gestellt, um ca. 100MB zusätzlichen Speicher für Anwendungen bereitzustellen. FINGER weg zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt. Bei mir gab es danach spontane Reboots. Aber hier die Installation:

Der Advanced Taskmanager Application auf dem N1 zeigt jetzt 244MB frei!!! Einige Anwender im XDA berichten von WiFi Problemen, die mit einem erneuten Einspielen eines WiFi Modules behoben werden können:

adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules

Ich werde heute mal eine neue Testversion des Memory Patches einspielen, der wohl stabil sein soll.

N1: CM 5.0 Beta 3 with MemHack and Black Notification Bar

This is how the Lockscreen of my Nexus One looks currently. Visible change from stock is the black notification bar. This is done using Metamorph (from the market) and the Smooth Black Bar from XDA (Know-Fear).

The Mail Icon with the unread count, "Gmail Unread Count" comes from Alexander Blom and the messaging icon has the same capability to show the number of unread SMS is the "SMS Unread Count" from Kanokgems. You get both in the market.

Under the hood I have the Cyanogen Mode CM5.0 Beta 3 as well as the MemHack released by Cyanogen. I'm currently using the 2.6.29 Kernel, without JIT.

This configuration not just looks great, but also is very stable. I do not have any issues at all with this build.
