Short Update

My apology goes to every friends, blogger and all visitors.
I have been so blessed in my life this year. I am so lucky, especially to be serving in Youth With A Mission, Romania. It's such an amazing place for me to use my gifting.

I begin this year by evaluating what I've done last year. It was encouraging to see that I have ministered in different cities, youth groups, Churches, parks, street, homes, prison, concert, festivals and recreation center.

By the help of God, I have ministered to over 1,700 people in this past one year using African music as a tool to spread the gospel in Romania. I feel the need.I am getting more involve and also impacting more in youth.
Glory be to God for the opportunity.

First Sunday In Draganesti-olt

We ministered at Biserica Harul (charismatic church) in another County called Teleorman. After we've arrived and setup our instruments, the pastor introduced us, their worship team lead some worship and my team mount the stage with wonderful and inspirating worship songs. Everyone got involve and we had a blessed time in the presence of God.

Three people from the team shared a testimony. One shared about how God heal him from a sickness. He was hospitalized and his parents spent all that they have on his sickness but there was no positive result. God revealed Himself to him in a dream that he should be taken to the church. He told his parent and their obedience, faith and trust in God healed him that same day.

I sang African songs which the rhythm itself lifted the whole congregation to stand up in praising God in African way.

"How God communicate with us and how we communicate with God?" This is the topic of the message delivered by one of us and after, we had a time of praying for them. God moved in our midst and many that was prayed for went back to their seat weeping.

After the service the pastor invited us to fellowship with his family. We had a blessed time sharing, encouraging and dinning.

Mission in Draganesti-Olt Orientation

We arrived safely in Draganesti-Olt in the night and lodged at the mission house. It was a good and comfortable house with everything we need.

Raul, is the Leader of the ministries (Raspandind Evangelia in Oltenia Romania) at Biserica Speranta (Hope Church). He came to welcome us that night and was happy we made it safely.

He gave us a warm greeting, introduced himself and gott to know us too. He shared about what they do, their goal, vision, and what is expected of us.
Their goal is to see the kingdom of God in this region. To cover the spiritual and Physical needs of people.
The Olt county has a population 500,000. 600 are christian and 0.02% are born again christian.
It has a total area of 5,498 km2 and the ministries cover 180 km2. Their Target is to plant churches in all the regions.

We went to serve in ministries and to be a part their vision. Our main role was to fix a piece in the puzzle.
Our Main Role
- Creating environment for people to come into the presence of God in worship.
- 250 Older people with eye problems received glasses 2 weeks ago and we have to visit them, pray with them and minister to them.
- Minister in churches
- Share bibles
- Organize the Nations Celebration Night.

Prayer for the week- God's kingdom to come in Draganesti-Olt.

The Journey to Draganesti-Olt

The journey To Draganesti-Olt in Southern, Romania started on Saturday, the 14th of November 2009. It was a good day, filled with excitement, joy from the inside to serve in Ministries.

My director and his wife came with their two beautiful girls so, we were twelve in number.
We took off from YWAM Targu Mures base with a car and a mini-van. There was enough space to seat in the van with our Musical equipments, instruments and luggage.

We had several short stops on the road but, the stop we had after driving for almost five hours was a fellowship time. We made some sandwiches a day before and took them with us for lunch with some fruits which many of us had a nice time chewing with some juice and coffee. We spent time viewing the beautiful views of the nature.

At the entrance of Draganesti-Olt, we stopped. We prayed for few minutes covering the land with the blood of Jesus. We read Psalm 27 vs 7-10

Draganesti Oltenia Mission Trip

This week is so tiring, exhausting and also, one of the blessed week I've ever had since my mission started in Romania.
It's so exciting to go and reach out to people. Spreading the gospel all over Oltenia, southern Romania.
We the YWAM Targu Mures, team is heading to Draganesti Oltenia to serve at Biserica Speranta (Hope Church) in expanding the Kingdom of God.
The population of the people in this city is 12, 195 as of 2002. We were told that 12, 000 people live their life without Christ.Unemployment is 70-80%. Many homes are broken, Children living with HIV, and Prevalent Practice of Witchcraft.

By the grace of God on the 14th November, We are going there to repair broken homes, visiting AIDS patients, destroy every works of the enemy in the land and winning souls for Christ. We will be there until 22 Nov.

This trip requires prayer. Please pray for protection and provision for the whole team. Also, salvation, restoration, miracles and deliverance for the people in the city.

"Pepene-verde" in Camp

Pepene-Verde" Is the Romania word for "Watermelon." It was the best fruit I choose to eat when the weather is hot. Watermelon is more purchased, sweet and of the best quality in the summer. I did not find any in the store or market places for the my first 6 months here in Romania until Summer time.

The first time I saw it in a one store, I didn't believe my eyes. I went to different stores and they were in hundreds. I was really amazed of the fact that it's only in the summer that you can get Watermelon.Back home in Africa, you can find it in market places through out the year in Nigeria, Ghana, and Tog. Their taste are different sometimes due to the season.

Watermelon, not only a thirst quencher but also an excellent source of Vitamin C and a very good source of Vitamin A.

At the Camp in Prod, we ate many pieces of Watermelon in the afternoons before sport. The children and the youth like it more than anything else placed before them. It refreshes them and kill their thirst in the hot sunny weather.

No one as ever missed it, they always want more of it and talk about the subtly crunchy and also, dare to travel miles to the market to buy some for.

Shopping for Pepene-verde (watermelon) in an open market in Sighisoara. The cost is not much but the excitement and benefits derive from eating is nice.

Children at the camp asked for more piece and eat to their satisfaction.

Camp Fire

My time in the Camp for the Youth and children held in Prod, Romania was really a blessed time. I never for a minute get bored about the activities each day.

The camp fire is always awesome in the nights. For each week, we had 3 nights of camp fire with lot of fun, jokes, games, sharing, impacting and getting to know each other.

One thing I discovered in the nights is the music part and I can say "Music is inevitable in Camp Fire". Without music, the nights will be so boring, there wouldn't be much fun and It wouldn't have been a complete Camp so far.
We danced round the fire singing joyful songs in English and Romania.
I sang African songs as well which gave flavor to the nights because of the uniqueness (Some of the youth and Most of the children never saw an African singing).

Everyone is always excited about all that is going during camp fire night. Some get to show their happiest mood in picture while others come up with creative things that motivate and challenge others to get involve.

Prod

Prod is a village in the county of Sibiu, Romania. It is located 7 km NE of a town called Hoghilag. It is a village that is neat, well organized and the population of the people living there are few.
We had our camp meetings in the church and on the field of a German Reformed church. The dormitory looks so nice to stay with all the facilities. We had many activities during the day and in the night. The camp ground has a large field which is about 200 feet in length and in width 100 feet were we had lots of game on the field.

The village is a good place for solitude. It's very quite all the time and there is no distractions or things that make someone loose focus or concentration.
There is no internet and no network for mobile phones. We go to the top of the hill to search for signals before we can make a phone call, send or receive a message.

MISSION NOT ACCOMPLISHED

The journey started on the 3rd of August, 2009 a beautiful sunny day. I woke up early ready to meet at the YWAM Targu Mures base for a mission trip. Targu Mures to Prod (a village) is about 80km drive. The location for the camp for youths and children which we served and ministered for three weeks.

My team and I were 3. In the journey was a staff whose involvement in the camp was in the worship team. We have to travel through Sighisoara which is considered to be the most admirable and well preserved inhabited citadel in Europe, with a reliable old-fashion architecture.
We missed the maxi-taxi to Sighisoara so, we had to wait for 45 minutes for the next maxi-taxi.

We had many attractive luggage which we arranged in a good way in-front of us at the station were we stood. while we were waiting, Five guys with three ladies walked to the station. Two was smoking and they came in front of us with a terrible look on their faces.

They looked at us and the luggage. I looked strait into their eyes without any fear. One of my team member was afraid because he is a Romania and he knows what the guys was up to so, he was really scared and pull some bags so close to himself.

I noticed they were up to something but I was not really sure of what exactly was they were up to but was challenged by their attitude.
I was ready in to face the challenge "but not to fight." I encourage the team not to be scared or fearful but to be bold and gather courage because nothing was going to happen.

After some minutes, they went to stand in another place and everyone at the bus station held their bags close. I got to know their mission. Glory to God the maxi-taxi arrived few minutes later.

We used a strategy to pack our luggage inside the bus. one person stood with the luggage outside. One stood at the back of the maxi-taxi where we kept them and the rest packed everything not living one any behind.

After we had entered the maxi-taxi, I looked outside to the guys then I said to myself "MISSION NOT ACCOMPLISHED" and we all laughed.

Greetings to all my friends whom I have not visited long ago. It is good to be home again after 5 weeks of Mission trip in villages. 3 weeks without a signal for phone or internet but focusing on the work of the Kingdom and 2 weeks in village with network but very slow in connecting.

I had a lot of times listening to people, making impact, playing games, and having time to release what is inside..
I am really excited to post what went on each day!!!

Africa Night Concert in Romania

First African Night Concert at the Coffee House Ministry in April was amazing on how it went with lots of fun, excitements, laughs, powerful testimony, fellowship and jokes. I with the African Team, was in our native dress and many of the youths said, they have never seen such dressing before. A funny friend of mine that was at the concert called my cloth "AfricanPajamas."

All my music was in African beats with African percussion.....Teaching the Youths an English song "if you're happy and you know clap your hands" in one of the African languages "Yoruba." "ti nu re ba ti dun ko patewo."

Mission in Romania

My vision is to help the youth know God's Truth, Love, and how to walk in Faith with God. I felt God was calling me into missions in the year 2006. I prayed about it and received a confirmation from God to go into all Nations and make Him know.

In January 2007, I did a Discipleship Training School and School of Communication Foundations with YWAM Ghana and after, I was prayed over and released into mission field.

Presently, I work as a volunteer with YWAM Romania. The Base vision is "to empower local churches, cultivate community development projects and educate and release young to fulfill their dream." Here, I found room for my vision and calling and I serve as a staff in the Discipleship Training School, Computer Department, Coffee House Ministry and Worship department.

My first time out with the youths in the church where I worship was very interesting. We went out to distribute free invitation card for the concert that was organized by the Ministry Leader of Coffee House. I was the center of attraction for the team at the University student hostel. The youths asked me many questions about what I do here in Romania, my name and where I came from. This gave me the opportunity to talk with them. I answered all their questions and at the end, I shared the word of God with them.

We went to another location which was a High school hostel. Most of the students were having dinner. Immediately we entered, I noticed one of student, a girl, she was nervous and shy so, she hide her face at the back of a boy sitting next to her. I went to the other direction to say hello . When she saw me beside her,she screamed and everybody at the dinning laughed (It was her first time having a close contact with a black).

I was invited to their table and one of them gave me a tea called "Fructele Padurii" made of a blended dried plant and fruit. Others left their tables and to joined me. I got to know most of them and we became friends and I shared about the Love of God with them.

On my way home from work today; at first, I saw two birds and latter another one and they became three. I watched them closely trying to know what they were up to on the the street. I finally found out that they were looking for something to eat. One out of the three found a food and the rest were wandering about.

Fish Night

when I was in the continent of Africa, I have always loved to eat fish because it's easy, cheaper and available in every market. My favorite is cat fish which I eat as many as I can.

"Fish is very good for you because it will expand you and make you grow healthy." My mum tells me this anytime she cooks fish soup and I am with her in the kitchen.

Fish contain essential nutrients and a high quality protein. A well-balance diet requires fish and can contribute to heart health and proper development and growth.

Women and young children in particular should include fish in their diet due to nutritional benefits. The Fish are wonderful creation of God that live in the water.

I don't have the opportunity to eat fish as often as I want here because it's too expensive but, I still eat fish and will have a "FISH NIGHT."

The Targu mures Zoo is bordered by a vast oak and hornbeam forest known as the Big Forest. People keen on nature and hiking can take many mini-routes here. The Zoo had then a surface of only 600-700 m2 when it was launched and setup with only 10 animals. 3 wolves, 2 bears, 2 wild boars, 2 pheasants and 1 dear donated by

The Hunter's Association and Forestry Exploitation Company. In 1965 the area intended to the zoo was extended to 20 hectares, being followed by the construction of the first establishment namely the "House of Lion," between 1965-1967. In 1986, the bears home was completed in parallel with the arrangement of an adequate space for other animals.

Targu Mures Town Hall

Targu Mures town hall is the representative public building accomplised in the inter-war period with the establishment of Capitalism in Romania, in 1922. Many industrial units as well as buildings of common interest were raised.

The construction begings during the second mandate of mayor Emil A. Dandea in 1934-1937 and was completed in 1940.

The Town Hall, has been functioning since 1968.
