It’s my daughter’s 14th birthday tomorrow. Where the heck has the time gone? I’d just started driving buses when my then girlfriend fell pregnant. That was nearly 15 years ago!
She’s having a few friends round tonight for a bit of a party so I said I’d set up the lights and take some photos of them all dolled up.
As the weather’s so nice and we have limited room in the house I set the lights up outside on the green out front, and took a few test shots. I ended up only using one light. Some slight adjustments in Lightroom, and quickly through Photoshop to border, tag and sharpen etc.

This is only a quick ‘test’ shot of my daughter playing guinea pig. I’ve borrowed some studio lighting from the rather smashing Yvonne of White-Gold Images.
I know the original is horribly underexposed, and it’s actually quite soft for the kit used and the settings, but that’s all my fault. Just shows how much you can mask errors and inexperience in Photoshop!

Another image taken on my recent trip to London. A simple image, but what caught my eye were the bold, bright colours, and the juxtaposition of the word square with the big red circle and the white rectangular tiles.

Here’s another taken in London last week. Just as we stepped off the tube, I tried a quick, quirky, wonky grabshot with my 10-20mm.
