This has been a labour of love for many years and it is exciting to see it finally come to fruition. For many years we have been creating top end components for use on our mountainboards, but their precision and durability have made them perfect for electric boards too. Lee Wright on the new Rockstar Pro II Hubs

Another video from DIY electric skateboard builder Lee Wright. This time Lee is taking a look at the new MBS Rockstar Pro II hubs designed for tyres from 6″ to 8″, and the Rockstar Pro II XL which takes 8″ to 10″ tyres. These hubs offer the most precision in the MBS range and as such are interesting to the DIY electric board builders. There are some key differences from the previous models which make these a hub worth considering!

Austin Robbins, Josh Knepper, Akoni Kama, Saer White, Dave Sansone, Leon Robbins, Jason Lee and more star in this action packed video from the early 2000s. There are some classic freeride segments in this and a huge evolution in terms of freestyle from the first movie.

This week Dylan himself joins R+D Lee to go through everything that makes up the new Dylan Warren III Pro model mountainboard. This board has had a slew of updates from the previous model in terms of the deck and the components. The deck has a serious construction upgrade to a fully composite snowboard style construction with PBT graphics and polyurethane sidewalls. In terms of components its all about the new MBS Matrix III truck system.

Tech Talk – MBS Rockstar Pro II Hubs

These hubs take precision to the next level. R+D Lee is back to tell you everything you need to know about the new MBS Rockstar II hubs and Rockstar II XL hubs. These are available in two sizes, standard and XL. The standards come in black and are designed to take 6, 7 and 8″ tyres. The XL comes in charcoal and takes a 8, 9 and 10″ tyre. The other main point is the width is larger than before to give a larger contact patch with the tyres. A new feature is the fact the bearings are offset from the centre, allowing you to make the distance between your wheels smaller or larger. Finally these hubs can be balanced using our new balancing weights.
