Here are some things that can cause you to be unavailable to God.
Luke 9:57-62
1. Unwilling to give up security or comfort to follow Christ.
2. Unwillingness to allow Christ, rather than man to determine your responsibilities in life.
3. Unwillingness to sacrifice relationships closest to you to follow Christ.
4. An unwillingness to live by a single God-given focus.
Worse yet are you unavailable for discipleship training. Luke 14:18-20
Why not take Timothy's example. Acts 16:1-3
He took all steps to ensure he would be a good disciple.
Because of this his growth is wondrous. 2 Timothy 3:10-11

Have you made your phone call to God today?
Or another way to put it.
How is your prayer life?
Is it only one way communication with God?
Is it you saying what you want and then expecting it?
Or is it what it should be a two way conversation. You say your piece and then God replies in the way He chooses sometimes audible and sometimes only communion.
What is prayer to you?
All about you?
All about others?
Just talking to God?
Or is it as it should be all three.
The reason you pray for yourself is to get stronger and better as a Christian.
The reason to pray for others is to open ways for God to work.
The reason to praise God is He deserves it.
The reason to just talk to Him is He likes it.
So why is prayer so important. It surely is not because of you and me who are doing it.
WRONG!!!!
We are why it is important souls, Satan, God, and War.
Get the picture? No?
OK,lets go to Romans 8:31-39 and Ephesians 6:10-18
Prayer is all about us and all about the souls of others. We are in the middle of a war and not one with tanks and bullets etc... This war is bigger and much, much worse. This war is between Satan and God and our souls are the prize. So yes prayer is all about us. We are that important.
Jesus Christ won the war already on that cross. But the battle for souls is not over till the Battle of Armageddon.
So prayer is all about us?

Why is prayer important?
The battle for souls.
Our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ can and does bind Satan and open the way for God. Without the name of Jesus Christ your just full of hot air.
Our power is through the name of Jesus Christ. Don't believe me? Knock that dust off that Bible and look it up yourself.
