Have you ever been talking with someone and a vague reference to Scripture comes to your mind? Do you sit there struggling to remember what the Bible said on a particular topic? Have you ever searched Google to find a Bible verse and realized you were way off on what God's Word actually said? If any of the above scenarios have happened to you, then I want to encourage you to begin memorizing Scripture!

Perhaps you're thinking, "But my memory is horrible!" Well, the Bible says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13, NKJV). If you're like me, it won't be an easy task, but exercise is good for us (at least that's what I hear). Just like everything else, you need to train your brain to memorize Bible verses. Start with something easy, like a verse that you've heard so many times that you probably already have it mostly memorized, John 3:16 for example. Or how about a nice short verse, maybe John 11:35 ("Jesus wept")?

Once you get the ball rolling, memorization will become easier and you can move to longer verses, multiple verses, or even chapters and whole books! There are many memory aids available online that can help you. I highly recommend the freeRememberMe app for Android and Apple products. It has helped me tremendously with hiding His Word in my heart.

I can't express just how beneficial memorizing Scripture has been for me. There have been numerous occasions where the Holy Spirit will bring to mind the perfect Bible verse while witnessing to someone on the street or when preaching. We can recall and recite verses in moments of trials and temptation. Our trust in God can be renewed and strengthened, while also growing in our love and adoration towards Him. It can also be used to encourage others in their walk with Christ or time of need.

God's Word is precious and the more I memorize Bible verses, the more I love Him and the Holy Scriptures. I pray that you will experience the same joy when memorizing Bible verses!

Prayer, What's the point?

"If God knows all things and has already

planned everything, what's the point of praying?"

This is a question that people have been asking since the beginning of time. There are many answers that can be given as well, but I feel that the best and most straight-forward answer is simply because He tells us to pray.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" - Philippians 4:6, ESV

We see times in Scripture where God changes direction due to the prayer of others. There are occasions where nothing happens and others where the miraculous happens... both are answers. Jesus is even seen praying numerous times throughout the Bible. One thing is for sure, when we fail to take time to pray, we begin doing things in our own strength, instead of relying upon the strength of Christ. This is a grievous sin and a major hazard to your spiritual health.

Goodbye

After much prayer and discussion, Missional Evangelists for Jesus Christ will be shutting down as of January 1, 2014. Many changes have taken place in the lives of founders, Ryan and Elaine Muniak, since its initiation. While we are sad to see this ministry closing, we are very excited about our upcoming ministry pursuit and how God is going to use it for His glory.

Our focus is being redirected to expand beyond evangelism. While we have a burden for seeing the lost come to salvation, we would like to take our ministry to the next level by focusing on discipleship as well. We will continue to proclaim the gospel, inside and out of church walls, but we will also seek to equip others to share their faith as well as encouraging them to be grounded on the Word of God.

Seeing the condition of our nation has given us a passion to become missionaries in our own native land. While the majority of Americans are professing Christians, we are not seeing fruit that this claim is actually true. Sin abounds, man is exalted instead of God and His Word, churches are not preaching sound doctrine...our country is in desperate need of God's Word being proclaimed. It is our prayer that God would work in us to preach the gospel and train the saints in sound teaching and biblical evangelism.

Hopefully, God will allow us to take this new ministry full-time so that we might dedicate more time and effort to serving God through these means. We would like to ask all of our beloved brethren to pray for us as we begin this endeavor.

Satan's Minion

Recently, while standing outside of our local abortion clinic, we had an interesting encounter with the apartment manager from the building next door. I have no idea what her name is, but I’ll call her “Ann” for ease of reference in this article. We had actually had a brief run-in with Ann previously; when she called us cowards for leaving before police arrived (I had to leave for work, and the police had already been there, but said nothing to us).

This time around, Ann came over with a video camera to record us preaching in front of the abortion clinic… in case we left again before police arrived. After recording us for a few minutes, she began arguing with us about how we’re harming her tenants due to the noise. She also tried to tell us that what we were doing was illegal, that we needed to have a permit in order to use amplification. Unfortunately, we lost sight of the goal and engaged her instead of continuing to preach. We did try to share the Gospel with her. She professed to be a Christian, because of various things that she had done. Once we informed her that going to church and doing good deeds won’t make her a Christian, she got really agitated.

A short time later, the police arrived and she talked to one officer while another came to talk with us. The officer stated to us that we were doing nothing illegal and we’re allowed to preach with amplification until 10 pm. He did ask a favor of us… to move the speaker to the other side of the driveway coming out of the abortion clinic so that it wasn’t in front of Ann’s building. As a courtesy to the officer, who was very nice to us, we complied with his request. It was his attempt to appease Ann, but it didn’t work.

After the police left, Ann decided to harass us some more. We told her what the officer told us, but it wasn’t good enough for her. She began saying that she was going to call “friends in high places” (my wording, she actually named people and positions) to change the laws so that we would no longer be allowed to preach there. I informed her that we weren’t afraid of her or her connections, and that she was trying to prevent the Gospel from being proclaimed. She became very upset when I began quoting scripture about false conversion (see Matthew 7:21-23, 2 Corinthians 13:5). I told her to repent and trust in Jesus, so she said, “Don’t tell me what to do!”

Shortly before she left, I let my pride get the best of me and said a few statements that didn’t need to be said. All of a sudden, her demeanor changed and a smile came across her face. I realized my sin and the devil’s purpose for this whole ordeal. Once she left us, I prayed for repentance and preached one last time. While driving my friend to his car, I admitted to him that I had sinned. He replied, “I know.” We parted ways, praising God for His grace and mercy.

May the Lord give us wisdom and self-control as we proclaim His Gospel at the abortion clinic.

The Fruit of Many Laborers

This was a testimony from Cheryl about how God saved a man through the faithfulness of many Christians. May it be as encouraging to you as it is to us. God bless.

Depending on how technical or should I say Theological you want to get, you could say this all started before the foundation of time. But, I'm going to fast forward to the year 2005. I was a two year old Believer at that time. We were living in Sciotoville, Ohio, attending [a local] Church. [This church] is a small congregation of around fifty regular attendees. One of which is Bob (name changed). Bob would come to the Church services off- and -on saying hi to friends and family members who also attended.

Now, when I say that Bob would come to the services on occasion that isn't 100% true. Sure Bob would show up, he would say hi to everyone, but somewhere between the start of the sermon and the end he would leave. This troubled me, I guess this is what is referred to as a "burden for someone". I didn't know the terminology at that time but the burden became so strong that in November of 2005 I wrote Bob a long letter.

In the letter I shared him of my life prior to The Lord saving me. I told him of the peace and contentment I now experienced in the forgiveness of those sins. I wish I could say that I laid out an air tight theological explanation of the Gospel, but let's remember I was only two years old. The years passed and Bob kept that letter, a seed The Lord allowed me to plant. Little did Bob and I know, but for the next eight years when I would attend [that church], Bob would be observing me and I was watching him. On occasion, I would walk up to say hello, and Bob would always say "you know, I still have that letter you mailed me." I would smile and think to myself "Yeah but did you read it?" But I never said anything out loud, I would just smile.

Fast forward again to the year 2013. We started attending [a different] Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Pastor was preaching through the book of Ephesians on Sunday mornings, and the Sunday night service was focused on boldly sharing theGospel. The program was challenging me way beyond my comfort zone, and I hadn't even walked up and talked to anyone yet! Just the thought of handing a tract to someone or starting a Gospel conversation terrified me.

A short time after that program ended a co-worker gave me a book titled "Will Our Generation Speak" by Grace Mally. That book propelled my witnessing courage to the next level. I began leaving tracks in different places but still I had not actually spoke to anyone.

On the Sunday before Thanksgiving we were visiting family in Sciotoville and as always we planned to attend [Bob’s church]. (side note...we actually contemplated going for a long hike Sunday morning. Reasoning that, after all, Scott (my husband) was playing music at a Sunday night service. Thank you Lord for thwarting that plan by giving Scott a bad cold rendering him unable to hike!

At the Church service I noticed Bob sitting across the aisle and one row back. Throughout the service I kept thinking, if he gets up to leave I am going to follow him and witness to him. All through the service I kept an eye on him. My heart was racing because I knew his habits, he would eventually get up and leave, after all I had been watching him for the past 8 years.

This was a Communion service, so at the end of the service Communion was announced. Pastor invited all Believers around the Lord's table. As the congregation began to come forward forming a circle around the table, Bob moved back toward the door. I watched him carefully. But then he stopped and sat down with two small children playing on the floor. I continued to watch and wonder what God's plan was.

Communion began with [the Pastor] asking if anyone wanted to openly share anything. A few people confessed sin and asked for forgiveness in various aspects of their Christian walk. I have always loved this little Church for times like these. I imagine this to be like first century Church. The Bread of Communion was passed first and a prayer was said. Still Bob sat in the back only 20 feet or so away. I thought to myself, how can he sit there and watch this, is he even watching or paying attention? Glancing back I could see a troubled look on his face.

Next, the small glasses of grape juice were passed out. [The Pastor] asked a fellow Brother in Christ to pray. As [that person] began to pray, Bob began to leave. I didn't hesitate, all during the service the Holy Spirit was prompting me and I knew that The Lord wanted me to witness to Bob. With my heart racing I made my way through a few people, carrying my grape juice out the door with me. I caught up with Bob in the foyer and placed my hand on his shoulder “Bob can I talk to you." He was a little shocked and had almost a look of fear or maybe anger in his eyes, but when he saw it was me he smile and said, "sure"

We talked for about 15 minutes. I poured out my heart for his troubled soul. He cried, and admitted that he knew he was going to Hell. As he talked, I prayed for wisdom and [discernment] in all that I would say. At the end of our conversation I told him that I would continue praying for him and that I wanted him to know that I cared deeply. Bob left the Church and we headed to lunch and another Church service where Scott was singing.

All the rest of that day I couldn't stop thinking about my conversation with Bob. I talked to Scott and others about the conversation. How can a person flat out refuse the forgiveness of Christ? How can he know and admit that he is going to Hell and not repent? How can he come to Church all these years and not be saved? My father-in-law said "Cheryl, I'm proud of you and I know Bob is going to be thinking about that conversation" He went on to remind me of the scripture in 1Corinthians 3:5-7 that tells us "What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth" That made me feel good and I Prayed that God would work in Bob’s heart to give the growth and bring him to Salvation.

When we returned home from the Sunday night Church service I checked my phone for messages. I noticed a text from a friend at [Bob’s] Church, it said please call ASAP and left a number to call. [My friend] answered the phone and said "Cheryl. I have someone that wants to talk to you."

When I heard Bob’s voice I began to cry. I'll never forget his words. "Cheryl, you started something this morning, and I want you to know, I got saved today" all I could mutter out between tears of joy was PRAISE GOD!

When I reflect over the events I'm amazed at how God orchestrated them into Bob’s Salvation. Eight years ago He prompted me to plant a seed through the letter I wrote, over the years Pastor faithfully planted seeds though his sermons. Bob told me that in the past others tried to witness to him, but he would get angry and turn them away. He also said that he had been watching me and that I always seemed happy and content. Then Sunday, November 24, 2013 God allowed me to plant more seeds as I witnessed to him.

You see, God did cause Bob to think about his situation and He prompted Bob to call his son who brought the Pastor, aka "Preacher Man" as Bob affectionately calls him. The three of them talked and it was then that God gave the growth and lifted the veil from his eyes. I thank Him for allowing me to be a part of the miracle of this new birth, it's amazing that he chooses to use us, and it is encouraging!

2 Corinthians 4:3-6

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus 'sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Just Another Day

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12, ESV)

Today was supposed to be just another day… a day where we would spend a few short hours attempting to proclaim the Gospel and prevent the atrocity that is abortion. However, this day was different…

I began the day not feeling well, due to some form of stomach bug, but thought nothing of it, writing it off as something I ate not agreeing with me. Our team was planning to meet at noon in front of the local abortion clinic. It was a warm and sunny fifty-nine degrees when I left the house. As usual, I was running on Muniak time, which means I was late. When I got there, the sun was gone, the wind had picked up, and the temperature dropped drastically. We pressed on.

There were a few others protesting abortion today, men from the Catholic religion… and a few guys that they pay to hold signs for them. I was weary of them because our goal wasn't to protest abortion, although we were planning to do that while there. No, the goal when we are there is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. Our team set up at the exit gate since one of the Catholic gentlemen was stationed at the entrance. We began our mission with prayer.

I began preaching through the amplifier, hoping the words would penetrate the brick fortress of the abortion clinic. Within minutes, the spiritual attacks began. We received a “one-finger salute” from a passing vehicle. A man on the street warned us that the apartment complex next to the clinic would call the cops if we kept using the amplifier. One of the Catholic protestors came over to warn us that we could be arrested. Some guy from within the clinic came out to tell us that what we were doing was illegal and that the police had been called. We persevered but I was getting discouraged… and scared.

Before finishing the message, a patrol car pulled into the gates and proceeded to the back of the building. Another member of our team arrived after that and we filled him in on the situation. I put on a brave face for the team and discreetly sent a text to my wife, asking her to pray for us.

After a few minutes, the officer came to talk with us. He explained that he understood what we were doing, but the people inside were complaining about the noise (PRAISE GOD). He didn't want to get involved and asked us if we would be willing to point the amplifier down the street, instead of directly at the building. We complied with the request since it wouldn't make much of a difference. We thanked the officer and wished him well as he returned to his car and left us to continue the task at hand.

We praised the Lord for his protection and for bringing the sun back out to warm us up. The mission continued and God was glorified. Were any babies saved while we were there? We really hope so, but have no idea… of course, that wasn't our ultimate goal. Was the outreach successful? Absolutely, the goal had been achieved. We've decided to return to the abortion clinic on a regular basis. Please pray for those that received the Gospel today.

Fired Photographers

In this day and age, it seems like nothing is certain. Well, for the photographers at Chicago-Sun Times, that statement surely rings true. The news reporting agency recently decided to terminate the employment of every photographer on their payroll. Many people feel that you can only be sure of two things, death and taxes, but there are a ton of people who escape taxes. Statistics show that 160,000 people die every day, which is essentially two people every second.

When you die, do you think you'll be good enough to go to Heaven? Let's find out... how many lies have you told in your entire life? What do you call someone who's told that many lies? Just like one murder makes you a murderer, even one lie makes you a liar. Think lying isn't a big deal? "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8, emphasis added). God thinks sin--any sin--is a big deal!

God made a way for you to escape the fires of Hell though. He sent Jesus Christ to live a perfect life here on earth and die as a sacrifice for you. He paid your fine (see Romans 6:23) with His blood. Jesus defeated death and Hell by rising from the grave. God requires you to turn from your sins and place your trust in Jesus to receive the gift of eternal life and be saved from Hell. Call out to God and surrender your life to Him today!

Texas Shooting Spree

Today a man in Texas was killed after he began shooting from his vehicle, resulting in at least 2 deaths and 5 injured. The police found his car loaded with an assault rifle along with other arsenal as well as ammunition. This may lead many to ask, “If there is a God, why would He allow this to happen?”

The answer can be found in Scripture. In the beginning God created a perfect world, a world without death or suffering. He formed a paradise and placed man in the midst to rule it. The only stipulation was to refrain from eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Man was tempted by the serpent and ate, and this has resulted in man falling under the curse of sin. Adam rebelled against the command of God and because of that, we now live in a world with death, disease, and suffering. You might be thinking right now, “That isn’t fair to be responsible for another’s sin!” I’d like to pose a question, “Based on who’s opinion?”

God is Creator and has every right to establish things however He pleases. Besides, even if God didn’t count that against you, you would still be accountable to Him for your sin: every lie you’ve every told, every time you used His name as a curse word, every lustful look, the fact that you love other things instead of your Maker who gives you life and sustains you. The Bible makes it clear that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The Bible also teaches that sin brings forth death and after death comes judgment.

Regardless of whether or not you like the rules does not change that you will have to face a holy God one day and give an account for your thoughts, your deeds, and your words. If God judges you based on His standard of goodness, which is the 10 commandments, and you die in your sins, you will be condemned and will rightly spend an eternity in hell.

While God is a just judge, He is also incredibly merciful and made a way of escape. See our sin has racked up a fine that none of us can pay. The Bible says that even our good deeds are like filthy rags in the sight of God. God came down in flesh (Jesus), lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay that fine for the sins of those whom would repent and trust in Him. He rose from the dead, proving He was God.

God can offer you a full pardon, resulting in not just the removal of punishment, but to gain an eternity in heaven with Him. Turn from your sins today, cry out to Him for forgiveness and place your trust in Him alone for salvation. If you do this, God will make you a new creature with new desires. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Those who lost their lives in this shooting didn’t know that today would be their last. Get right with God today.

In London today, two men were seen butchering a man alive with a machete and meat cleaver. They shouted "Allahu Akbar" as the killing took place. The whole incident was videotaped and the police killed both men upon arrival. The victim was reportedly a British soldier.

These men were from "the religion of peace," called Islam. This religion claims that you must be a good person to get to Heaven... or commit an unspeakable act like the one observed today. The problem is that both ways to get to Heaven are opposed to each other and therefore both cannot be true. What does God really say?

According to the Bible, "No one does good, not even one" (Romans 3:12) and "As for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8). In fact, the Bible says that hating someone is the same as murder (see 1 John 3:15). Looks like everybody will die and go to Hell then, right? Well, that is true... unless someone who has never sinned takes our punishment for us.

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to earth and lived a perfect (sinless) life. He was beaten and whipped, tortured and crucified until He died on the cross. Jesus came back to life three days later to defeat death and Hell. He now offers eternal life to anyone willing to repent and trust in Him. Read the Bible to find out the truth about Jesus Christ and what He did for you.

Death Knocks on The Doors

Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist from "The Doors," died on May 20th, 2013. He was seventy-four and it is believed that he finally lost the battle against cancer. He was considered one of the greatest keyboard artists of all time and guided many others in their musical careers. Sadly, money and fame can do many things, but it cannot save you from standing before God on Judgment Day. When you die, will you be good enough to enter Heaven?

Have you ever illegally downloaded music (like "The Doors") from the internet? That's called stealing and it makes you a thief. "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, emphasis added). If you don't go to Heaven, the Bible says you'll spend eternity in Hell.

Thankfully, God made a way for you to be set free from that terrible punishment. He sent Jesus Christ to pay your fine and take the punishment for you. Jesus died on a cross and came back to life three days later, defeating death and Hell. If you turn away from your sin (repent) and entrust your life to Jesus, God will save you from Hell and grant you the gift of eternal life.

Tornado Wreaks Havoc

Tragedy struck the midwest today as a major tornado wreaked havoc through Oklahoma. It was classified as an EF4 with winds up to 200 mph and was nearly two miles wide at one point. Currently, they have confirmed that at least 51 people have died due to the tornado. Of those 51 people, none knew they were going to die today. In fact, roughly 160,000 people died today throughout the world. Death comes without warning. We need to be ready for what comes after death... Judgment Day (see Hebrews 9:27).

Many believe they are good enough to get into Heaven when they die, but the Bible says, "No one does good, not even one" (Romans 3:12). If you've ever told a lie or stolen something, God sees you as a lying thief. The punishment is death... and an eternity in Hell. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

Even though you deserve the punishment (we all do), God loves you enough to offer eternal life to you in spite of your sins. "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for our sins upon Himself. He was hung on a cross and died, but three days later rose from the grave.

Jesus defeated death and Hell for you. You need to repent and trust in Him to be saved. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved" (Romans 10:9-10).

Millions Seeking Millions

People all over the country are buying Powerball Lottery tickets hoping to win it big! The jackpot is the second largest in history, currently at $600,000,000. Almost everybody is buying tickets so that they can get that money for nothing, the real "American" dream. Let's say I could give you that amount right now (tax-free), would you take the money?

Most definitely, but there's a catch! In exchange, I will need to remove both of your eyes. With all that money, you could "see" the world! We could even replace your eyes with glass ones, so that you would "look" normal. Nobody in their right mind would take me up on the offer (which isn't real). Your eyes are precious to you because they are the window of your soul. "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul" (Mark 8:36)?

Have you ever put something before (or above) God? Do you "worship" money for what it can "do" for you? "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money" (Matthew 6:24). You've broken the first and second commandments by these sinful actions. The punishment is an eternity in Hell.

"God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Jesus Christ came to earth to pay the penalty for your sin. His blood was poured out for you when He was hung on a cross to die. Three days later, Jesus came back to life, defeating death and Hell! The only jackpot that matters is an eternity in Heaven and Jesus won. He wants to share it with you but you need to repent and place your trust in Him to receive the gift.

Obama Struggling for Control

President Obama has been under fire for most of his presidential career, but it's been hard to pass blame lately, due to the Benghazi and IRS scandals taking place.

Benghazi was a terrorist attack at the American Embassy where four people were murdered and the U.S government has tried to cover up their lack of action regarding the murders of American people.

The IRS scandal shows that the government was targeting right-wing conservative groups when they applied for tax-exempt status. Both are big problems that President Obama just wants to sweep under the rug. Unfortunately for him, the truth always has a way of coming out.

What skeletons have you been hiding in your closet? God knows about every lie you've ever told among other sins. The Bible says, "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8). Does it concern you that you would be thrown into Hell forever if you died today?

God wants to forgive you of your sins and grant you eternal life in Heaven! He sent Jesus Christ to die on a cross to pay for your sins. Angelina Jolie Removes Breasts

Angelina Jolie announced recently that she has had double mastectomy (breast removal) and reconstructive surgery. She did so in an attempt to prevent breast cancer. "My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent," wrote Jolie in a recent Times editorial. While it's great news that she will probably never get breast cancer, she's still going to die one day... just like the rest of us. What happens when that day comes?

"It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). When you face God on Judgment Day, will you be good enough to get into Heaven? The Bible says, "No one does good, not even one" (Romans 3:12). Using God's standard of good, we can see if that's true. Ever lied? Ever stolen something? Ever used God or Jesus or Christ as a curse word? If yes, that makes you a lying thieving blasphemer in God's sight. The punishment is an eternity in the lake of fire (see Revelation 21:8, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and Exodus 20:7). Does this concern you? Are you interested in finding out how you can be forgiven and escape the fires of Hell?

God loves you and wants to forgive you, but He cannot let a guilty person go free without someone else taking a punishment for that guilty person. God sent Jesus Christ to be punished for your sins. Jesus "was despised and rejected by men... He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities... He was oppressed, and He was afflicted... although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in His mouth... He poured out His soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors... He bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors" (Isaiah 53). Jesus rose from the grave three days later, defeating death and Hell.

Jesus paid your fine with His blood and offers you eternal life in Heaven. You must repent (turn away from sin) and entrust your life to Jesus Christ as Lord in order to receive the gift that He offers. Please do this today before it's too late!

Kermit The Baby Killer

Kermit Gosnell is a murderer... according to the verdict he received in court. The jury announced that he was guilty on three counts of First-Degree Murder. Sadly, had this guy just left the children inside the mother before murdering them, he'd be a free man. What's the difference... aside from location? Kermit Gosnell will face another court and Judge that has seen all of his despicable deeds. You will face God on Judgment Day too. Do you think you're a good person? Well... better than Gosnell... right?

Maybe you never murdered with your hands, but God looks at your thoughts and says, "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him" (1 John 3:15). We are all just as guilty as Gosnell when compared to God's standard of perfection. The punishment for sin is an eternity in the lake of fire, a place called Hell. Does this concern you?

God loves you though and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on your behalf. He was brutally murdered and hung on a cross. Three days later, Jesus came back to life, defeating death. God will forgive you of your sins because Jesus paid your fine... if you repent and trust in Jesus to be saved.

Government Scared by Plastic Gun

Defense Distributed, makers of the "3D Gun," are fighting against the United States government over the distribution of plans for their plastic gun that can fire real bullets. Some argue that because the gun is almost entirely plastic, it will not be noticed by metal detectors, while others are saying that the cease and desist order against Defense Distributed is in violation of the Second Amendment. The government has even removed the plans from the website that were freely available to anyone via download. One thing's for certain, many people are coveting after those plans due to the rise in gun costs.

Have you ever coveted, or jealously desired, something that wasn't yours? The Bible states, "Everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience" (Ephesians 5:5-6, emphasis added). The punishment for breaking God's Law (sinning) is an eternity in Hell.

Convicted Killer Seeks Freedom Through Death

Who is Jodi Arias? She is a woman who has just been convicted of murdering her boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in 2008. Her attorney claimed that the killing of Travis was done in self-defense... but twenty-seven (27) stab wounds, a gunshot through the head, numerous bruises, and attempted decapitation seem to tell a different story.

After the verdict, Jodi stated, "I said years ago that I'd rather get death than life, and that still is true today... I believe death is the ultimate freedom, so I'd rather just have my freedom as soon as I can get it." Unfortunately for her, death is not the end result. The Bible says, "it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).

Have you ever murdered someone? Think twice before you answer that question. Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire" (Matthew 5:21-22). God requires absolute perfection--in your thoughts, words, and actions--and we all fall short of that standard. "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him" (1 John 3:15).

Delaware Approves Gay Marriage

Delaware has become the eleventh state in America to legalize same-sex marriage. They previously had a law granting civil union relationships the same liberties as marriage. Some argue that allowing homosexuals to marry will ruin the sanctity of marriage, while others state that heterosexuals have been destroying it for years. The sanctity (or holiness) of marriage doesn't hinge on whether both parties are of the opposite gender though. The sanctity of marriage is ruined by sin...

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men [or women] who practice homosexuality,nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Does the above passage of scripture describe an action that you partake of regularly? When it says that you won't inherit God's kingdom, that means you are destined for an eternity in Hell, the lake of fire.

God wants to save you from that terrible fate though. He sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross as a sacrifice to pay for your sins. Three days later, Jesus Christ rose from the grave and now offers you a way to escape the fires of Hell. Jesus said, "Repent and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:15). Turn from your sins and trust Jesus today!

For the first time in ten years, three women will wake up free from captivity. Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were all kidnapped roughly a decade ago from the same Cleveland area and were prisoners in a house less than five miles away. Ariel Castro, the homeowner, is in custody as the prime suspect, along with his two brothers. Many years have gone by since the girls went missing and everyone is overjoyed that they are alive and well. What would possess someone to kidnap three girls and hold them against their will for ten years? The answer is sin, specifically the sin of lust.

YouTube is currently tossing around the idea of charging a fee for some of their more popular channels. The website, a subsidiary of Google, wants to offer this new method to channels as an additional option for making money from the videos they provide. It's possible that they want to cater to those who love money, so what does the Bible say? "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils" (1 Timothy 6:10). Are you a lover of money too?

Do you put money up on a pedestal, placing it above God in your life? This is called idolatry and you are breaking two of God's Commandments because you put something before God and anything above the God of the Bible becomes an idol. Do you desire to get money, even in ways that are immoral? That's coveting. If God judges you based only on these three laws that you've broken, you would be guilty and heading for the lake of fire, a place called Hell, for eternity! "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul" (Mark 8:36)?

God doesn't want you to lose your soul and be cast into Hell. He sent Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin, God in the flesh, and lived a perfect life. He died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose from the grave three days later. If you turn away from your sins and trust in Jesus Christ, God will give you a new heart with new desires. "No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money" (Luke 16:13). Give up your love of money today before it's too late! "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'" (Hebrews 13:5).

Money = Happiness?

They used to say, "Money can't buy happiness" but now that tune has changed. According to a new study, money CAN buy happiness. The problem though is that money still can't buy you what's most important... eternity in Heaven. Even if you're buried with all of your possessions, they don't follow you into the afterlife. Jesus said, "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" (Mark 8:36)

Have you ever coveted something before (jealously desired the possessions of another person)? “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's” (Exodus 20:17). If you've broken this commandment (sin) of God, then you are guilty and in danger of heading for an eternity in Hell. Does this concern you? No amount of money will buy your way out of Hell, but God made a way for you to escape the fire!

Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life, having never coveted or sinned in any way. He came to earth for one reason... to die... for you. He was beaten, whipped, kicked, punched, and murdered by hanging on a cross. Jesus took your place and paid your fine (see Romans 6:23) with His blood. Three days later, He rose from the grave (literally) and defeated death. Now, Jesus offers you the gift of eternal life (escape from Hell and entrance to Heaven). Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). In order to be born again, you must turn away from your sins (repent) and trust Jesus Christ with your life.

Slayed by the Angel of Death

Jeff Hanneman, the guitarist for the heavy metal band Slayer, died yesterday due to liver failure. He was considered a legend in his field and had won two grammy awards. One of the band's first hits was "Angel of Death" and nobody expected death to come knocking when Jeff Hanneman was only 49 years old.

What happens after death though? "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27), according to the Bible. When you face God on Judgment Day, will you be innocent or guilty? Are you going to spend eternity in Heaven or Hell? There is a way to find out. "Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness" (1 John 3:4).

Have you broken God's law, the Ten Commandments? How many lies have you told in your whole life? Even one lie would label you as a liar. Are you a slayer (or murderer)? The Bible says, "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer..." (1 John 3:15). If you've ever hated someone, God considers you to be a murderer. In fact, the verse continues, "...no murderer has eternal life..." (1 John 3:15). It's clear that no eternal life means an eternity in Hell.

If you're reading this article, then there's still time for you to be saved from this punishment for your sins! Jesus Christ, who was God (see John 1:1), came to earth as a man and lived a sinless life. He never lied or murdered anyone, but was tortured and killed on your behalf. He was hung on a cross and His blood was poured out to take away the sins of the world. Three days later, Jesus came back to life, defeating death.

He said, "You must be born again" (John 3:7) to inherit eternal life. How can you be born again? "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him" (John 3:36). Turn away from your sins (repent) and put your trust in Jesus Christ to be saved today!

Chris Kelly, from the 90's rap group Kris Kross, has made the jump into eternity. He was 34 years old and many feel he died prematurely. That's the thing about death, it can come for you any day. In fact, statistics show that nearly 160,000 people die every day. It doesn't matter if you're young or old, healthy or fat, white or black... death comes for everybody someday. If you were to die today, do you think you would be good enough to go to Heaven?

Have you ever told a lie? Lying makes you a liar. Ever stolen anything... like illegally downloading music? That makes you a thief. The Bible says that all liars go to Hell (Revelation 21:8) and no thief enters Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If you're guilty of breaking God's law on Judgment Day, the punishment is an eternity in Hell. Does that concern you? I know how you can escape that terrible fate.
