Thirty Russian lesbian, gay and bisexual activists held a 10 minute flashmob Gay Pride march on Moscow's Leningradsky Street May 29 despite the banning of such festivities, according to a news release from the Gay Liberation Network.
Carrying a long rainbow flag and placards in Russian and English calling for "Rights for gays", the protesters chanted "No homophobia" and "Russia without homophobes."

НГ: Ограниченно послушные - Указы Медведева можно игнорировать?

Только люди, не чуткие к нюансам, оттенкам и полутонам могут называть российский парламент послушным. Он послушен избирательно.
Сложно вспомнить, например, резонансный закон, спущенный сверху и, пусть не отвергнутый парламентом, но хотя бы прошедший горнило серьезной дискуссии. Тщетно рыться в памяти или тревожить пыль архивов.

This is about sittings shirking by Russian parliament members. Foreign media refer to the situation as vote scandal. Parliament members are absent at the sittings ignoring President’s decree. In Russia vice versa we did not hear anything about scandal and nobody would tell us in such a way. Only “Nezavisimaya” (newspaper name) worried. And what actually happened? Deputies don’t go to work? – So everybody shirks something: school, university, work again. Are deputies worse than others? And would it make any difference in case they come 100% ? President is ignored? – Not a bit! Nothing personal: nominal parliament is adopting the decree of the nominal President. Is it necessary for everyone to be present? – Several on-duty’s pushing right buttons i.e. voting is absolutely enough. May be of course You-Know-Who will be displeased. Then nobody will survive. On the other hand he elected the President himself and created so called ‘ruling tandem’. And declared also: “Mr. Medvedev and I are people of a traditional orientation”. Obviously in order not to give fruitless hopes to anybody.:) If not our President could be absolutely ‘attractive’. So anyway thanks a lot! :)
