Ford and Domino’s Pizza are teaming up to test self-driving pizza delivery cars in Michigan, as part of an effort to better understand how customers respond to and interact with autonomous vehicles.

They began testing Tuesday in Ann Arbor, where Domino’s is based, to see whether customers like the idea of driverless-car delivery or stumble over what amounts to a self-serve pickup process once the pizza arrives.

The test involves using a Ford Fusion sedan with markings and gear on the roof to indicate it is self-driving.

Ford said the Fusion hybrid is capable of driving itself but is driven by an engineer for the purposes of the testing. The windows will be tinted to prevent the customer from seeing the driver. The main intent of the project is to test customer reaction and the customers will think the vehicle is driving itself.

Those who participate in the test can track their order through a Domino’s app and will receive a unique code that matches the last four digits of their phone number to be used to unlock the so-called Heatwave Compartment which is a container that keeps pizzas warm in the back of the car. Information will be communicated through screens and speakers on the exterior of the cars.

“We’re interested to learn what people think about this type of delivery,” Russell Weiner, president of Domino’s USA, said in a statement. “The majority of our questions are about the last 50 feet of the delivery experience.”

Areas of focus include how willing are people to come outside to pick up their orders, the way they approach the car, and how they interact with the screen outside of the vehicle to get the food.

Marakby said this is the first of multiple partnerships between Ford and other companies as part of efforts to ramp up autonomous vehicle testing.

While people who illegally streamed Saturday night’s Mayweather-McGregor fight could soon find themselves in trouble, those who actually coughed up their 100 bucks and did things by the book may have been screwed over by Showtime and UFC.TV because of poor quality or not-working streams.

If this happened to you, and if you happen to live in Oregon, you may be able to add your name to a class-action lawsuit. We say that because, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Zack Bartel of Portland, Oregon brought about such a suit after he plopped down $99 on the Showtime app for a high definition feed, but instead got what he describes as “grainy video, error screens, buffer events, and stalls.”

Bartel is suing Showtime for “unlawful trade practices and unjust enrichment,” because he claims the company failed to acquire the bandwidth necessary to accommodate the massive quantity of cord-cutting fans.

“Instead of being upfront with consumers about its new, untested, underpowered service, defendant caused likelihood of confusion and misunderstanding as to the source and quality of the HD video consumers would see on fight night,” attorney Michael Fuller said in a complaint that was filed in an Oregon federal court late Saturday night. “Defendant intentionally misrepresented the quality and grade of video consumers would see using its app, and knowingly failed to disclose that its system was defective with respect to the amount of bandwidth available, and that defendant’s service would materially fail to conform to the quality of HD video defendant promised.”

Bartel is seeking the higher total of either $200 in statutory damages, or whatever the amount turns out to be for actual damages. Assuming you want to, you can read the entire 18-page complaint over at THR.

Showtime’s Senior V.P. of Sports Communications, Chris DeBlasio, suggested that anyone who had issues should contact their service provider, though he also added that the network will be handling complaints from people who ordered through Showtimeppv.com or the ShowtimePPV app. “We have received a very limited number of complaints,” he said. “[And we] will issue a full refund for any customer who purchased the event directly from Showtime and were unable to receive the telecast.”

As for the UFC, they said on Tuesday, in a statement that Dana White himself signed off on, that they’d refund the dough to any fan who couldn’t access their stream after purchasing the fight on UFC.TV:

]]> For nearly two years, Stephen King fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the 2017 remake of the horror classic IT. The beloved novel was released in September of 1986, and a made-for-TV adaptation of Stephen King’s IT followed in 1990. The 1990 version of IT boasted a run time of 193 minutes, and was shown on television in the form of a mini-series. Despite critical panning, IT developed a cult following, and fans of the novel and first adaptation alike have been dying to see what director Andy Muschietti has cooked up this time around.

The original made-for-TV adaptation of Stephen King’s IT starred the incomparable Tim Curry in the title role, a monstrous creature often portrayed as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. This time around, the nightmarish role was undertaken by Bill Skarsgård, and fans (at least early on) were worried that he wouldn’t be able to do the film or his predecessor justice. After a couple of terrifying stills and creepy trailers, however, Skarsgård more than proved that he had the chops the handle the iconic role.

This time around, Stephen King’s IT is headed straight for the big screen. With a lengthy but manageable run time of 135 minutes, this year’s version of King’s vision has cut the original story nearly in half. Both the book and original film told the tale of an evil creature from the perspective of a group of children (“The Losers Club”) and again 27 years later from the perspective of their adult selves. In the 2017 flick, the tale is being told solely from the point of view of the group of children.

It has been widely reported that if the 2017 rendition of Stephen King’s IT achieves box office success, a sequel will soon be in the works. If it happens, the second installment is slated to tell the story from the adult perspective. It’s still hard to tell if that second installment will happen, however, because reviews of the Andy Muschietti film haven’t yet begun to officially circulate.

However, as Entertainment Weekly reports, a handful of critics and journalists were lucky enough to be part of an early screening of the much-anticipated 2017 version of Stephen King’sIT. And while the folks who managed to get an early viewing of IT haven’t dropped any spoilers, their reactions to the flick are almost exclusively positive — an excellent sign for Muschietti and Stephen King fans alike.

According to Anthony Breznican of EW, the new Stephen King’s IT may be “one of the finest” King adaptations ever made. In addition to a terrifying killer clown (who fans of the book know is so much more than that), the movie is said to touch viewers on an emotional level not achieved in the 1990 version.

“I think it’s one of the finest Stephen King adaptations ever made. Beyond killer clowns, IT also delves into the grief & anger kids feel when they realize those who should love & protect them do the opposite. These are themes in King’s stories that filmmakers often ignore. But the best adaptations figure out they’re the most vital part.”

Other early reviews of the soon-to-be-released horror film, which could well be on the way to becoming a classic, praise the movie’s humor and adorable romance, with Erik Davis of Fandango calling IT one of his favorite movies of the year.

While those lucky enough to score an early viewing of Stephen King’s IT are overwhelmingly psyched about the new film, they’re not the only ones. Fans of Stephen King and horror in general (often one in the same) have been following the movie’s progress on social media since news of its development first dropped, and most are stoked to get their first taste of the new Pennywise and the new IT.

And many have taken to their favorite social media platform to share their thoughts about everything from casting, to the films new single-perspective format, to reactions to early critical reviews.

There is one person in America who may not be excited about the impending release of IT, and that’s Donald Trump. The commander-in-chief and supposed leader of the free world has been the target of Stephen King’s Twitter rage for well over a year. Indeed, almost from the time the unlikely politician threw his hat into the presidential primary fray, King has been sharing his exclusively unpleasant thoughts about Trump on Twitter.

Recently, Donald responded by blocking the prolific horror author, something Stephen King apparently took rather personally. As a result, King “blocked” Trump from seeing IT. He also suggested that the president “Go float yourself,” a reference to his beloved horror novel-turned-film.

It’s worth noting that in the world of Stephen King, Pennywise the Dancing Clown comes back to haunt his victims every 27 years. Coincidentally (or perhaps not) the new adaptation of IT will be released 27 years after the 1990 made-for-TV version.

Arpaio had been convicted of was criminal contempt after he repeatedly ignored a federal judge’s order to stop racially profiling individuals suspected of illegally entering the U.S.

“It undermines his claim for the respect of rule of law,” said Arizona Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona).

“Mr. Arpaio was found guilty of criminal contempt for continuing to illegally profile Latinos living in Arizona based on their perceived immigration status in violation of a judge’s orders.”

McCain added while the president has the legal authority to make such a move, doing so at this point is problematic because “Mr. Arpaio has shown no remorse for his actions.”

Fellow Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) joined the senior McCain in condemning Trump’s actions.

“Regarding the Arpaio pardon, I would have preferred that the President honor the judicial process and let it take its course,” Flake posted on social media.

Both men have been largely critical of Trump and his job performance during his time in the Oval Office.

She’s due in a few days, and she recently stated on her Instagram Story that she is already feeling sick, which could be a sign that the reality TV star is just about to burst. There is just one problem, though: the rest of the Roloff family are away.

Amy Roloff just left for a long, cross-country road trip with her boyfriend, Chris Marek; Matt Roloff has seemingly left for a business trip; and Tori, Zach, and Jackson Roloff are away visiting Walt Disney Studios and Tori’s side of the family. With Auj seemingly about to give birth at any moment, it seems like Little People, Big World fans should start preparing themselves for the idea that Jeremy and Audrey might end up welcoming Baby Girl Roloff by themselves.

Audrey’s pregnancy has been long, beautiful, and riddled with controversy at the same time. Over the past few months, the reality TV star’s fans have gushed at how perfect Audrey looks during pregnancy, and how loved she is by her husband, Jeremy Roloff. Critics, however, took issue with Audrey’s social media activities, calling her out on her multiple pregnancy pics and her tendency to post photos of herself when she attends other people’s special events.

During Molly Roloff’s recent wedding alone, Audrey came under fire for holding out on posting pictures of the secretive event. When Auj finally posted pictures of the wedding, many LPBW fans took issue with the fact that her update was filled with her and Jeremy’s pictures, not of the bride and groom.

Now that Audrey Roloff is due to give birth anytime soon, many LPBW fans are beginning to find it strange that her in-laws have all decided to leave Roloff Farms. When Amy Roloff updated her social media followers about her cross-country motorcycle road trip with her boyfriend, some of her fans immediately called her out for leaving Audrey and Jeremy at such a crucial moment.

“Isn’t your granddaughter going to be born like any minute? Hmm. I don’t get the families of today,” wrote one commenter.

Matt’s recent Facebook update, which featured Zach, Tori, and Jackson leaving the state, also caught the attention of many Little People, Big World fans. Some even directly addressed the issue, asking the reality TV star why everyone seems to be leaving Roloff Farms when there is a baby on the way.

“Why is everyone leaving when there is a baby girl due any day?” wrote another.

Overall, there could be many reasons why the rest of the Roloff family has taken off at a time when Audrey is likely to give birth. It could all be just a huge coincidence. It could even be suggested by the Little People, Big World producers to add some dramatic flair to the upcoming season. Regardless of the reason, however, Jeremy and Audrey Roloff are pretty much on their own for now.

HOUSTON (AP) — NAACP interim President Derrick Johnson says his organization will carefully monitor government assistance in Houston and other areas to ensure minority neighborhoods get adequate resources following Harvey’s destruction on the Gulf Coast.

Johnson says the NAACP’s goal will be “to ensure that resources directed from the federal government don’t skip neighborhoods.”
