Acid reflux is a painful disease that affects all sorts of people. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your sex or gender is, you are susceptible to acid reflux disease. Acid reflux is a long lasting disease that is often chronic. Most people who contract acid reflux disease will have it their entire lives.
GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is another name for acid reflux disease. With acid reflux, the liquid in the stomach, which includes acid, pepsin, and sometimes bile, backs up into the esophagus. The acid is the most damaging of the refluxed liquids and can cause painful inflammation and damage the esophagus.
The most common symptom of acid reflux disease is heartburn. The feeling of heartburn is a burning sensation in the chest. Some patients also report feeling the burn in the area of the neck or throat. Heartburn is often the cause of unnecessary visits to the hospital because it can feel like a heart attack. If you are not sure if your chest pain is from acid reflux or from the heart, you must seek immediate medical attention. Some people assume that their pain is just heartburn and refuse to go to the emergency room, and some of those people were wrong. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Some other symptoms of acid reflux, though not so common, are nausea, regurgitation, or vomiting. Nausea happens the most often of the three and can be chronic. When the acid pushes all the way up the esophagus and into the mouth, this is regurgitation. Vomiting is seen most often in the littlest bodies, babies and toddlers, because typically when a baby regurgitates he gags on it and subsequently vomits.
A complication of acid reflux disease is esophageal ulcers. This happens when the regurgitated acids break down the esophageal lining resulting in a tear. Bleeding can be a result of esophageal ulcers, which can prove dangerous if the bleeding is serious.
In order to diagnose acid reflux doctors use hypothesis and trial and error with treatment. If treatment in ineffective the doctor will then use x-ray, endoscopy, biopsy, or esophageal acid testing before ruling out acid reflux disease as a cause for the symptoms.
Treatment for acid reflux disease includes lifestyle changes and changes in diet. Other things that could exacerbate symptoms of acid reflux are smoking, alcohol, caffeine, and foods like peppermint or chocolate. Giving up these things and reducing other food items that you think might be triggering symptoms may be the only treatment needed. Antacids or a prescription can be used to alleviate symptoms of heartburn and pain from ulcer. Anti-nausea medications can help with the nausea and vomiting in adults. A pediatrician should be consulted before giving anything to a baby for acid reflux disease.
If none of the initial attempts at treating acid reflux symptoms, a tablet can be used that is a combination of an antacid and foam that form a barrier over the acid in the stomach, preventing it from coming up. Surgery would be a last resort, but is ultimately an available option. Only you and your physician can decide what the best treatment for your acid reflux is.

Are you wondering “What is gauss?” or “What is bipolar?” If so, I will try to answer a few of your questions.
Firstly, what is a magnet anyway? A magnet is basically any material that exerts a magnetic field. There are two basic types: permanent magnets and electromagnets. Electromagnets generate magnetic fields using electric currents. Permanent magnets, on the other hand, are materials that generate magnetic fields on their own and never lose their strength. Most magnetic therapy products use permanent magnets.
Magnetic flux density is a measure of the strength of the magnetic field produced by a magnet. Gauss (symbol: G) is a convenient unit to use when talking about the kinds of magnets that the average person is used to. To give you an idea of what a gauss is, your typical refrigerator magnet exerts a magnetic field of about 10 gauss. Magnetic therapy products tend to use magnets that range from a few hundred gauss to over ten thousand gauss. The magnetic flux density (strength) of a magnet is largely a function of what the magnet is made of.
A great number of materials can be made into magnets. Typical permanent magnets include ceramic magnets, plastic magnets, hematite magnets, and neodymium magnets. The last of these, neodymium magnets (also known as rare earth magnets), exert extremely powerful magnetic fields – so strong, in fact, that a neodymium magnet the size of a penny can sometimes lift hundreds of pounds with the force of its magnetic field!
The size of a magnet also plays a significant role in determining the magnet’s therapeutic strength. The same neodymium magnet that can lift hundreds of pounds with its magnetic field may in fact not even be able to penetrate more than a few inches into the human body due to its small size. It is the combination of the strength (magnetic flux density) and size of the magnet that determines the therapeutic strength of a particular magnet.
Finally, what is polarity? Perhaps one of the least understood aspects of magnetic therapy is the role that polarity plays in generating therapeutic effects. All magnets have north and south poles, with the magnet’s north pole pointing to Earth’s North Pole and the magnet’s south pole pointing to Earth’s South Pole. Polarity is the term used to describe the alignment of particles within the magnet. There are two types of magnets: bipolar magnets and unipolar magnets. Bipolar magnets are those that have both north and south polarity on the same side of the magnet, while unipolar magnets have the north pole on one side and the south pole on the other. One difference between bipolar and unipolar magnets is that unipolar magnets tend to have greater penetration than bipolar ones because the polarity is uniform on each side. Any other differences between the two types of magnets are still under investigation. www.bio-magnetictherapy.com, is a popular Bio-Magnetic web site where you can find more valuable information, articles, and knowledge about Bio-Magnetic Therapy and stylish products that will give you the many benefits of Bio-Magnetic Therapy.

What is acid reflux and why does it hurt so badly? You might be asking this question if you suffer from heartburn or other symptoms of acid reflux. Acid reflux is sometimes referred to as GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). The symptoms of acid reflux can be confused with gas or even a heart attack. The symptoms can be mild to quite painful, and sometimes difficult to recognize.
Acid reflux is not gas. Gas, when it feels like it is in the chest, is actually excess air that has been swallowed and is trapped in the esophagus. Excess air can be swallowed while eating, drinking, or smoking. Some people with loose dentures will swallow excess air as well. This type of gas, as opposed to gas caused from food in the stomach and intestines, is released when you burp, or belch.
Heartburn is the most common symptoms of acid reflux. Heartburn feels like a burning sensation in the chest and can be mild or it can be very painful. Some other common symptoms of acid reflux are nausea and vomiting, and regurgitation. Some more serious symptoms of acid reflux can include coughing and wheezing, the feeling like something is caught in the throat or a choking feeling, ulcers in the esophagus that can lead to strictures (scar tissue), inflammation of the esophagus and throat, and even inflammation of the lungs.
What is acid reflux caused by? Acid and pepsin is produced in the stomach to digest food. With acid reflux, these acids will be forced up (reflux) into the esophagus. Acid reflux has several causes. Often the stomach is just too slow to digest the foods we eat. When this happens, the stomach makes more acid to try to digest what is left. Soon there is too much acid in the stomach and there is no place for the acid to go except back up into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn.
Another common cause is when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close as it should in order to hold down the liquids in the stomach. The LES is a muscle that surrounds the lower portion of the esophagus where it meets up with the stomach. The LES, when functioning properly, will contract and relax. It relaxes when we swallow something, like food, drink or saliva, and then contracts immediately to keep it down. When it is not working properly and the liquid refluxes, this causes symptoms of acid reflux.
A hiatal hernia can be the cause of acid reflux, or it may be the result of acid reflux. This is not known for sure. A hiatal hernia happens when the stomach muscle weakens and pushes up into the esophagus, resulting in the LES being pushed up into the esophagus and becoming unable to do its job
What is acid reflux and how can I stop it? Acid reflux is a very common occurrence and most people will get it at some point in their lives. An antacid should take care of mild symptoms, but if your acid reflux is chronic and cannot be taken care of with antacid, speak to your physician about your symptoms of acid reflux.

Implementation of Stepper Motor in Robot

Summary

A typical single axis stepper system consists of a stepper controller, a motor drive, a motor (with or without gearbox), and a power supply. A stepper is typically commanded by two digital inputs: a digital pulse train and a direction bit. The stepping drive and motor is used primarily for position control. And unlike all other motor types, stepper motor is moved in “steps” (just one step per one command pulse) and will hold at its present position if no command pulses are received.

Key words

Step angle, rotor angle, torque, speed.

1. Introduction

The frequency of the pulse train controls the velocity of the motor, where the number of pulses determines the length of the move. The direction signal determines in which direction the motor will rotate. For each pulse from the controller, the drive will move the motor “one step” in the direction indicated by the direction command

The top electromagnet (1) is charged, attracting the topmost four teeth of a sprocket.

The top electromagnet (1) is turned off, and the right electromagnet (2) is charged, pulling the nearest four teeth to the right. This results in a rotation of 3.6°.

The bottom electromagnet (3) is charged; another 3.6° rotation occurs.

The left electromagnet (4) is enabled, rotating again by 3.6°. When the top electromagnet (1) is again charged, the teeth in the sprocket will have rotated by one tooth position; since there are 25 teeth, it will take 100 steps to make a full rotation.

A stepper motor is a brushless, syncro electric motor that can divide a full rotation in typically 200 steps.

Of course, this is achieved by increasing the numbers of poles (both on rotor and stator), taking care that they have no common denominator. Additionally, soft magnetic material with many teeth on the rotor and stator cheaply multiplies the number of poles (reluctance motor).Of course, like an AC synchronous motors it is ideally driven by sinusoidal current, allowing a step less operation, but this puts some burden on the controller. When using an 8 bit digital controller 256 micro steps per step are possible. As a analog-to-digital converter produces unwanted ohmic heat in the controller pulse-width modulation is used instead to regulate the mean current.

Simpler models switch voltage only for doing a step needing an extra current limiter. For every step they switch a single cable to the motor. Bipolar controllers can switch between supply voltage, ground, and unconnected. Unipolar controllers can only connect or disconnect a cable, because the voltage is already hard wired. Unipolar controllers need center tapped windings.

Stepper motors are rated by the torque they produce. Syncron electric motors using soft magnetic materials (having a core) have the ability to provide position holding torque while not driven electrically. To achieve full rated torque, the coils in a stepper motor must reach their full rated current during each step. The voltage rating (if there is one) is almost meaningless.

2. Applications

Computer controlled stepper motors are one of the most versatile forms of positioning systems, particularly when digitally controlled as part of a servo system. Stepper motors are used in floppy disk drives, flatbed scanners, printers, plotters and many more devices. Note that hard drives no longer use stepper motors, instead utilizing a voice coil and servo feedback for head positioning.

3. Construction and Operation

“Can-stack” stepping motors consist of two stacked sets of toothed stator poles and circular coils and a cylindrical ceramic permanent magnet rotor with radial alternating north and south poles. The number of rotor poles is equal the number of stator teeth in each sets of poles.

The stator pole coils are energized; the rotor will align itself between the two equal stator fields. Typically the number of poles is such that the motors have step angles in the range of 7.5 to 20 degrees. A single step of the rotor is the result of a change of magnetic polarity of one set of stator teeth.

This change in polarity is brought about by reversing the direction of current flow in the coil associated with those teeth. The rotor motion for a single step with no load applied is that of a damped oscillation. The damping characteristics are modified by frictional and inertial loading, the sequence in which windings are energized, and the electronic damping in the drive circuitry.

4. Step Angle Accuracy

The average value of the measured step angles of an unloaded stepping motor over 360 degrees will be equal to the nominal step angle. The maximum deviation of the individual steps from the nominal step angle is the error usually specified as a non-cumulative or incremental step angle error. The typical maximum value for this error in a can-stack motor with two phases energized is ± 5%.

5. Stepping Sequences

For continuous rotation a repeating sequence of changing tooth polarity is required. Differences in motor performance characteristics result from different sequences. A commonly used scheme for stepping is to energize both stator coils and to reverse the current in aIternate coils with each successive step. This results in a four step sequence.

Reversing the sequence reverses the direction of rotation. This is called a full step mode with two phases on. It is also possible to step the rotor with the same angular increment by energizing only one phase each step.

This is also a four step sequence and is known as a wave drive. Since only half the copper volume is being used, the efficiency is lower and there is less damping with this scheme than with two phases on. A third sequence alternates between one and two phases energized to produce 1/2 the step angle of the previous sequences. The half step sequence requires eight steps. Angular resolution is improved and the smaller step angel provides an improvement in damping. However, it should also be noted that this scheme produces alternate “weak” steps when only one phase is energized.

Resonance All stepping motors exhibit resonance at certain pulse rates. In typical can-stack stepping motor applications resonances are most commonly encountered at low frequencies (less than 100 pulses per second). Although there is no loss of steps at these frequencies, there is an increase in vibration and noise. This becomes even more noticeable when a gear train is coupled to the motor. When operation at resonant frequencies cannot be avoided, some improvement in damping may be obtained with increased frictional damping, reduced input power, modified drive circuitry or half-stepping.

6. Torque Characteristics

The maximum torque developed by the motor is the static or holding torque. It is measured while displacing the rotor one step with one or two phases energized. During continuous stepping with a constant voltage supply the dynamic torque developed decreases with increasing stepping rate. This reflects the relatively large inductance to resistance ration of the motor.

In the typical dynamic torque curve shown (commonly called an L/R cunve) the lower curve represents the maximum torque load which the motor will start and stop without losing steps (pull-in).

The upper curve represents the maximum torque which the motor can develop at a given pulse rate or alternately, the maximum rate to which a given load can be accelerated (pull-out). Motor torque at higher pulse rates can be increased by increasing the input to the motor using a variety of drive techniques.

These include simple schemes such as increasing the voltage directly or decreasing the time constant by adding external series resistance, and more elaborate techniques such as bi-level voltage drives in which winding current is controlled. When overdriving techniques are used to extend motor performance, consideration must be given to the maximum permissible temperature rise of the motor winding based on the insulation rating of the motor.

Bifilar and Bipolar Operation The terms bifilar and bipolar refer to two different types of windings that may be used in the stator coils. Bipolar windings contain a single coil in each stator half. The switching circuitry used to reverse the direction of current flow with this coil is typically of the full bridge or dual supply type. Bifflar windings contain two coils in each stator half. When they are connected as show in the figure, the magnetic polarity of the stator teeth can be reversed by switching from one coil to the other of each pair with a unipolar supply. Note that although a bifilar-wound motor does contain four coils or “phases,” it is operated as a two phase motor. Bifilar-wound PM steppers are widely used because of the drive circuit simplicity. All stock Hurst stepping motors use this winding configuration. Bifilar and bipolar-wound motors do exhibit some performance differences. Since the winding volume per phase of a bifilar-wound stepper is only half that of a bipolar-wound stepper, the attainable ampere-turns for a given input power will necessarily be lower for the bifilar-wound motor. Therefore, the torque is lower. However, with an L/R drive it is because the bipolar coil with its larger volume will also have a larger time constant. At higher stepping rates the bipolar-wound motor’s torque will decrease to approximately the same level as that of the bifilar-wound motor. The choice of winding type will depend upon the application. The holding torque for a bipolar version of a given motor will be 20-30% higher than the bifilar version. Dynamic torque differences will depend upon the drive circuitry. With the simplest drive circuits the bipolar performance exceeds the bifilar performance only at low frequencies. As drive circuit complexity increases the bipolar performance becomes superior

7. Brushless DC electric motor

A brushless DC motor (BLDC) is a DC electric motor that uses an electronically-controlled commutation system, instead of a mechanical commutation system. (The rest of this article assumes the reader is familiar with the principles of electrical motors.)

Two subtypes exist:

· The three-phase AC synchronous motor type has three electrical connections

· The stepper motor type may have more poles on the stator.

In a conventional (brushed) DC-motor, the brushes make mechanical contact with a set of electrical contacts on the rotor (called the commutator), forming an electrical circuit between the DC electrical source and the armature coil-windings. As the armature rotates on axis, the stationary brushes come into contact with different sections of the rotating commutator. The commutator and brush-system form a set of electrical switches, each firing in sequence, such that electrical-power always flows through the armature-coil closest to the stationary stator (permanent magnet.)

In a BLDC motor, the brush-system/commutator assembly is replaced by an intelligent electronic controller. The controller performs the same power-distribution found in a brushed DC-motor, only without using a commutator/brush system. The controller contains a bank of MOSFET devices to drive high-current DC power, and a microcontroller to precisely orchestrate the rapid-changing current-timings. Because the controller must follow the rotor, the controller needs some means of determining the rotor’s orientation/position (relative to the stator coils.) Some designs use Hall effect sensors to directly measure the rotor’s position. Others measure the back EMF in the undriven coils to infer the rotor position, eliminating the need for separate Hall Effect sensors. (The BLDC motor has a trapezoidal backemf, while a brushless AC motor has a sinusoidal backemf.)

BLDC motors can be constructed in two different physical configurations: In the ‘conventional’ configuration, the permanent magnets are mounted on the spinning armature (rotor.) The stator coils surround the rotor. In the ‘out runner’ configuration, the radial-relationship between the coils and magnets are reversed; the stator coils form the center (core) of the motor, while the permanent magnets spin on an overhanging rotor which surrounds the core. In all BLDC motors, the stator-coils are stationary.

8. Comparison with brushed-DC motors

BLDC motors offer several advantages over brushed DC-motors, including higher reliability, longer lifetime (no brush erosion), elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, and overall reduction of electromagnetic interference (EMI.) BLDC’s main disadvantage is higher cost, which arises from two issues: First, BLDC motors require high-power MOSFET devices in the fabrication of the electronic speed controller. Brushed DC-motors can be regulated by a comparatively trivial variable-resistor (potentiometer or rheostat), which is inefficient but also satisfactory for cost-sensitive applications. BLDC motors need a more expensive integrated circuit, called an electronic speed controller, to offer the same type of variable-control. Second, when comparing manufacturing techniques between BLDC and brushed motors, many BLDC designs require manual-labor, to hand-wind the stator coils. On the other hand, brushed motors use armature coils which can be inexpensively machine-wound.

BLDC motors are considered more efficient than brushed DC-motors. This means for the same input power, a BLDC motor will convert more electrical power into mechanical power than a brushed motor. The enhanced efficiency is greatest in the no-load and low-load region of the motor’s performance curve. Under high mechanical loads, BLDC motors and high-quality brushed motors are comparable in efficiency.

9. Applications

BLDC motors can potentially be deployed in any field-application currently fulfilled by brushed DC motors. Cost prevents BLDC motors from replacing brushed motors in most common areas of use. Nevertheless, BLDC motors have come to dominate many applications: Consumer devices such as computer hard drives, CD/DVD players, and PC cooling fans use BLDC motors almost exclusively. Low speed, low power brushless DC motors are used in direct-drive turntables. High power BLDC motors are found in electric vehicles and some industrial machinery. These motors are essentially ac synchronous motors with permanent magnet rotors.

Lifestyle changes are often the first step in improving your health. Introducing a special acid reflux diet can be the first step for treating acid reflux. Many researchers rightly claim that particular dietary changes can be beneficial in the prevention of various health conditions and chronic diseases, acid reflux being one of them. Adhering to a complete acid reflux diet can stop symptoms immediately and work to reverse damage. Many studies of the complex nature of the body’s internal balance have been undertaken which investigate dietary patterns and their association with overall health.
Acid reflux symptoms were the goal of much early research. These studies focused on the diet and its relation to the severity of acid reflux symptoms. It was found that acid reflux sufferers should avoid certain specific nutrients. More recently, studies are leaning toward a broader dietary alteration to be used as the first therapeutic tool used in treating acid reflux sufferers.
An individual’s diet approach is the philosophy of contemporary holistic. Attempting to capture complex behaviors, potentially interactive and antagonistic effects among dietary components that may trigger acid reflux is a goal of holistic medicine. By applying several basic non-restrictive dietary principles acid reflux symptoms can be reduced significantly. Both physicians and alternative therapists claim that this is the case.
It is common knowledge that fatty foods can increase acid reflux. Reducing a patient’s fatty food intake can help almost immediately, as has been found by many health care professionals treating patients with acid reflux. Aggravation of acid reflux symptoms is made worse by saturated fat and high cholesterol foods. Consumption of excessive amounts of fatty foods is related to the loss of strength in the lower esophageal sphincter muscle (LES), the muscle that helps prevent acid reflux.
The intake of a large amount of fiber has been linked to the reduction of acid reflux symptoms. According to several studies, abnormal gastrointestinal effects were lessened as a result of a high fiber-diet over a one year period. Because of this, many health care professionals recommend 25 to 40 grams of dietary fiber per day. These should be taken from sources such as whole grains, rather than starchy foods – potatoes, pasta, etc. – that do not provide the right kind of fiber. Foods that contain plenty of the correct type of fiber help to eliminate both food and toxins from the gastrointestinal system. This increase in useful fiber results in softer stools, increased bulk, and a shorter time through the digestive tract – all of which are signs of significantly better health, and a reduction in acid reflux.
Adhering to these dietary practices is the beginning of an effective diet to prevent acid reflux. Using a comprehensive holistic approach, the goal is to address and tackle the internal factors that cause acid reflux disease.
By using a holistic, all-natural strategy, your painful and distressing acid reflux symptoms could be healed on a permanent basis.
A powerful, safe, and effective long-term holistic system that can prevent and stop acid reflux permanently is yours to discover.

11/26/07 4:31pm

I just did the ritual when something goes very wrong…smoked five cigarettes, I’m on my second beefeater Johnny Black Label, and I dropped 20mg of valium…standard operating procedure. The edge is just now 15-40 minutes from calming down a bit. I exceeded what I could handle; a problem much too common for those that ride the lightning of the manic side of things. All I did was fry the CPU on an old PC. I bought a motherboard too; just in case, so about $150. The amount doesn’t bother me, nor the fact that it was my mother’s PC…it’s the fact that I FAILED.

Failure is not an option. I strive for perfection in everything except my personal affairs, unfortunately. I’m not irresponsible; I’m just riding a storm that demands brilliance from my work. Brilliance in everything I do and a pat on the back or “way to go”; just something to let me know I did it. I don’t do small things, everything is bigger, better, faster, smarter, more inventive. The ideas don’t come to me like they did three months ago when there were literally 50 good, patentable, or artistic ideas hitting me every day. In three weeks, I wrote four chapters and 16000 words for my first novel, and 300 pages of written inventions, articles, and everything else.

It’s dropped continually until about a month ago when it planed off. Now I hit maybe 1-10 ideas a day; one good one for sure. If I leave the house, I may hit 20, but that’s about it now because I only leave the house to buy Pall Malls. The ideas aren’t crap either, since my family members are supporting my activities. Actually, others seem to feel the same way about many of my projects, so some of it must be good after all.

The good news is I’m alive. The better news is I’ve hit that high that people dream of capturing, if only for a brief moment. Mine is on 22 hours a day. I sleep or think the other two. I start businesses in my sleeping hours; vast empires of internet savvy. I write books (first out this coming spring), publish articles; I stay focused 98% of the time. That’s me in a psychotic episode venting. I’ll finish the article later when I’m back.

11/26/07 5:17pm

YES I’m back. I originally wanted to start this article with the science, but Latent Inhibition and a deep manic state opened the door when the PC crapped out. I’m fine now; it happens.

I am not going to dive into my life story, since that will be coming out in chapter form. The details of which consist of bipolar with acute anxiety, periods of schizophrenia, and periods of psychosis. That’s the very bad news. The good news is that my life story changed for the better at the end of a shotgun 3 months ago. NO, I didn’t pull the trigger; interrupted to be exact. But that event on September 1st, awoke something in me…something wonderful. I now operate 100% of the time in an elevated manic state. My IQ is above average and I have low levels of latent inhibition which are all key aspects for developing creativity or creative genius; as well as madness! Do a quick Wikipedia on latent inhibition and you’ll see where I’m coming from. Here’s an excerpt: “Most people are able to shut out the constant stream of incoming stimuli, but those with low latent inhibition cannot. It is hypothesized that a low level of latent inhibition, or LLI, can cause either psychosis or a high level of creativity, which is usually dependent on the subject’s intelligence.” (Wikipedia, 2007 Latent Inhibition) This is science that’s been around since the 50’s, mostly on animals, but now is being studied on us; maybe on me. I’d like to share my whole story with you and will be publishing many more articles to get the so called demons out of my head.

Millions of people are bothered by acid reflux disease. Some common symptoms of acid reflux include heartburn, nausea, vomiting, regurgitation and ulcers of the esophagus. Acid reflux happens when the digestive acids produced in the stomach pushes (refluxes) into the esophagus from the stomach. There are many acid reflux causes, but unfortunately a cure has not been found.
One common acid reflux cause is when the muscle tissue located at the base of the esophagus, the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), does not function properly. This band of muscle, when working correctly, contracts and blocks acid from backing up into the esophagus. When the LES becomes weak or fails to operate, the barrier disappears causing acid reflux.
Hiatal hernia is another of the common acid reflux causes. A hiatal hernia happens when the hole where the esophagus meets the stomach, the hiatus, weakens and extends, or blows up like a balloon. Acid is able to enter into the esophagus when the hiatus is weak and not able to block it.
Two separate esophageal abnormalities can be acid reflux causes. The first of these abnormalities is found more often in adult males, but can be found in women, too. This abnormality is when rings form around the esophagus and constrict movement of food down to the stomach. The term for this abnormality is adult ringed esophagus.
A motility abnormality happens when the spontaneous muscle action in the esophagus fails. This motility abnormality and adult ringed esophagus can cause more unusual acid reflux symptoms such as chronic coughing and feeling like food is caught in the throat. The spontaneous muscle of the stomach can fail causing the more common acid reflux symptoms like heartburn. This is called impaired motility.
Asthma is another of the acid reflux causes, or is asthma caused from acid reflux? Both are true. Acid reflux causes asthma because of the upper respiratory problems that people with acid reflux disease often get. On the other hand, asthma can cause acid reflux from the weakening of the LES that is a problem associated with the asthma medicines forcing open the airways and/or from the constant coughing and wheezing that asthma causes.
Genetics can be a factor in people with acid reflux disease. Muscle mass and strength are determined by genetics, including the muscles of the esophagus and the stomach. However, these muscles can be strengthened with regular exercise to include targeted exercises of the stomach, chest and abdominal areas, along with a healthy, low fat diet. Peptic ulcers, some cancers, and diabetes can also be acid reflux causes.
There is no cure for acid reflux disease but the symptoms can be kept under control. Over the counter antacids are available to alleviate heartburn, as are prescription medications. The acid can be blocked by foam tablets taken orally. Surgery might be an option for some people with severe acid reflux disease and who are healthy enough for surgery. The first step in curing the symptoms of acid reflux is finding the cause.

One of the most distressing aspects of GERD as it is known (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is that it is chronic and will return to plague many people who have already suffered from it once. A severe acid reflex condition can in turn cause worse medical complications.
So what really is acid reflux disease and how does serious acid reflux disease come about? What are the different serious acid reflux complications that then contribute to worsening the situation?
To make matters even more complicated, it is not always obvious and requires further investigation to know if a patient is suffering from serious acid reflex difficulties. When stomach contents get pushed back into the esophagus, the medical name for this is gastroesophageal reflux disease. This stomach content contains bile and pepsin amongst other things. It attacks the cells lining the esophagus and corrodes the lining. This is the main cause of heartburn severe acid reflux problems.
Statistically, serious acid reflux is quite common. Much of the population suffers from severe acid reflux problems with heartburn and related symptoms. Although for many the symptoms are not that serious, for others this can degenerate into severe acid reflux complications. Research indicates that older people are also more in danger of suffering from serious acid reflux.
It is essential that a patient with severe acid reflux take the correct action quickly. The reason for this is that severe acid reflux can turn into a chain reaction, causing other health problems, and so the rapid management of serious acid reflux for effective cures is doubly important.
Here are some cases of serious ramifications caused by acid reflux that can result if someone fails to take action to treat a serious acid reflux condition.
1) Erosive Esophagitis, meaning severe esophageal inflammation.
2) Narrowing of the esophagus. Severe acid reflux restricts the space in the esophagus making it difficult for someone to eat or even to drink.
3) Barrett’s esophagus can be caused by severe acid reflux.
4) Throat, pulmonary and dental medical problems can all be caused or exacerbated by serious acid reflux.
Because conventional medicine which is based on over the counter medicaments only treats the external symptoms of severe acid reflux and not the causes, it will not help with severe acid reflux because it does not target or address the underlying factors. Solutions for someone to handle severe acid reflux basically divide into two categories. The first is conventional medicine and the second is alternative medicine. However natural remedies for holistic cures are alone in their capability to resolve the real causes and they are therefore more effective.
