According to Copyblogger, the title of that blog post also seemed to work like magic. As of this writing, there are 111 comments on that post.

Why does such a seemingly simple, straightforward headline work?

Well, let’s break it down a bit. Although it seems like a simple enough headline, there is much thought behind it and making sure that it touches on certain key points.

The Magic of Just 10 Words

By being specific and saying that there are 10 words, you make the reader start to question him or herself:

• How difficult could it be to write 10 words?
• Am I using any of these 10 words?
• Are there some “key” words that I don’t know about?

Simply saying “these few words” or “the simple words” would not have the same impact as saying “The 10 Words”. So be as specific as you can in your headline.

The Promise of Getting Your Blog Post Read

Every blogger wants to have their content read. Unless you’re keeping a personal journal that you want to keep private, odds are that you are writing for an audience.

The headline above promises that people will read your content if you use these 10 words. That’s quite a promise.

So, you need to let your reader know…in the headline…how he will benefit from reading your post. If your message is too ambiguous, then there is no incentive for clicking on your link.

And although I’m not sharing 10 specific words with you today…I hope you will apply these principles for writing an effective headline to get your post read.

This is one of the first plugins that you have to make sure you install into your WordPress blog.

2. Comment Luv – With CommentLuv you can reward your readers and commenters by automatically placing a link to their latest blog posts at the end of their comment. This is a great way to promote your contributors as well.

3. Comment Redirect – Redirect commenters who just made their first comment to a page of your choice. Many marketers choose to redirect their commenters to a page where they can opt-in to their email list. You can see why this made the essential wordpress plugins list.

4. Top Commentators Widget – This plugin allows for a little more incentive for visitors to comment as they will be showcased in the ‘top commentators’ sidebar section on your blog.

5. PopUp Domination – PopUp Domination allows for a javascript popup to display on your blog and is an excellent tool to increase your email opt-ins.

6. Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin generates a special XML sitemap that is submitted to the major search engines and helps them to better index your blog. Personally, I’ve seen my posts indexed with Google within 10-15 minutes of being posted.

7. SEO Slugs – Removes common words like ‘a’, ‘the’, ‘in’ from post slugs to improve SEO. You might want to double check your slugs when using this plugin, though. Sometimes it doesn’t make much sense. Just keep an eye on it.

8. SEO Smart Links – SEO Smart Links provided automatic SEO benefits for your site in addition to custom keyword lists, nofollow and much more.

9. SEOPressor Unlimited – The plugin made the essential WordPress plugins list because, although it’s not free, you will want to run this bad boy so you can almost guarantee top ten positions on Google for your chosen keyword.

10. What Would Seth Godin Do – Seth Godin advocates using cookies to distinguish between new and returning visitors to your site. This plugin implements that idea. The gray box that I have at the beginning of this post is the WWSGD plugin in action.

11. Yet Another Related Posts Plugin – You can see at the bottom of this post that I recommend other posts for you to read on my blog. This plugin displays a list of related entries on your site and feeds based on a unique algorithm.

12. SexyBookmarks – Adds an attractive social bookmarking menu to your posts, pages, index, or any combination of the three.

13. Facebook Share (New) – Make it easy for your visitors to share your content on Facebook. This plugin adds a button which allows you to share posts and also shows the number of times the post or page has been shared throughout Facebook.

14. TweetMeme Retweet Button – Adds a button that easily lets you retweet your blog posts. Similar to the Facebook Share (New) plugin.

15. FD Feedburner Plugin – Redirects the main feed and optionally the comments feed seamlessly and transparently to Feedburner.com. Although there isn’t much emphasis anymore on RSS feeds, it’s still quite nice to see the stats that Feedburner provides.

16. Follow Me – Provides a fixed tab on the right side of the page that makes it easy to share your social profiles with visitors and redirect them to your profiles.

17. WordPress.com Stats – If you’re a stataholic, then you’ll understand why this made the essential WordPress plugins list. Provides number of visits, search engine keyword results, and out clicks. Comes in handy if want your ego rubbed a little. Use of this plugin does require that you have a WordPress.com account.

What Should You Do With This List of Essential WordPress Plugins?

Download them, install them, and use them. Although there are a few more plugins that I use on my blog, these are by far the most essential.

You will see an increase in traffic, an increase in readership, and more readers converting into leads for your business.

As I mentioned in the video, I managed to generate a blog traffic increase of 273% in just one week by doing two simple things.

The first thing I made a point to do was to post on a consistent basis. For me, it was important to post on a daily basis. This has allowed me to have more content and more value to offer to my visitors and readers more regularly.

However, consistency doesn’t mean that you have to post every single day. Your schedule might not lend itself to that. But, if you’re going to post three times a week, or once a week, or once a month…just make sure that you do it consistently.

The last thing you want to do is to let your blog go stagnate for a prolonged period of time. Doing so will almost kill your readership and you’ll have to start all over again should you decide to blog again.

The second thing I did to increase my blog traffic was to get active within a syndication tribe. A syndication tribe is simply a group of like-minded people who share each others content with their following.

Sharing my content with a tribe has multiplied my efforts a hundred-fold. Having a tribe distributing your content throughout the internet gives you much more exposure than you could ever get for yourself. Plus…it provides third party validation that your content is worth reading.

What has the blog traffic increase meant for me?

The increase in blog traffic has meant an increase in the optins for the offers that I have in my blog. Namely…more leads.

I have been able to connect with more people, I have been able to create relationships with more people, and more people are looking into my lead generating training and my primary business opportunity.

Your results may vary…but I don’t think by much. I truly feel that if you put your head down and get to work you’ll be able to generate similar results.

Today’s post is a training on time management. And if you’re going to be trying to generate any type of consistent results for your business, then this is one area that you’re going to have to get really good at.

You’re going to have to get really good at managing your time.

The reason for that is that it is really easy to let time slip away. It’s so simple to put things off for later, to procrastinate, it really takes no effort at all to let time just pass by. Or to use our time on unimportant things.

And when you let that happen, when you let time get away from you, you’re really letting all of the opportunities, all of the chances of you accomplishing something big, something worthwhile, just slip right through your fingers.

The sad thing is that when that happens, you really have no idea of what could have been. So why not leave those missed opportunities to a minimum?

Why Training on Time Management is Essential

Training on time management is so important because it is something you can never get back once it is lost.

You can always get back your money. But, you can never, ever get back lost time.

I was helped to understand why training on time management is so important by listening to a portion of Cedrick Harris’ 10K Per Month Blueprint.

Cedrick stated in this training:

• To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade.
• To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
• To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
• To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
• To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who missed their plane.
• To realize the value of one second, ask the person who avoided an accident.
• To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who came in second place to Michael Phelps in the Olympics.

Clearly, the power of time – every second, every minute, every hour counts.

Every day you are given 86,400 seconds deposited into your account. What you decide to do with those seconds is completely up to you.

So, you must treasure every second that you have on this earth. Once it’s gone it’s gone.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you have be anal about time management. You just have to at least be conscious of the fact that you can waste time.

How to Benefit from Training on Time Management

Time can get away from us in small amounts, sometimes in larger amounts. At certain time throughout the day you might be procrastinating when you can actually be getting something accomplished.

Your time should be spent on money generating activities within your network marketing or internet marketing business.

So, to benefit from training on time management you have to know what activities are going to push your business forward and generate results for you.

Instead of surfing the internet, instead of watching tv (the automatic income reducer), instead of watching videos on YouTube, instead of calling up friends just to see what they’re doing…do some things for your business.

Make some appointments to show your business opportunity, call up your leads, follow up with customers, write articles for your blog, make videos, start conversations with other marketers on Facebook, on Twitter, go leave some drop cards around town, plant some bandit signs….and the list goes on and on of the things that you could be spending your time on.

Now of course, at different times of the day and according to the things that need to get done, sometimes some things are more important than others. But you should always make sure that you’re doing the most important things first.

Yes, forum marketing should still be a part of our marketing arsenal. Forum marketing is still going strong. In fact, you can visit almost any forum, in any niche, and see that they are still quite active with thousands upon thousands of people interacting on them.

So what does that mean for you and me? LEADS.

There are people on those forums that are looking for what we have to offer. We just have to be able to present our offer in the most attractive way possible.

So How Do You Market Yourself Successfully on a Forum?

Well, for one thing, you have to understand that most people on the forum will be already promoting something. Forums are filled with people trying to market one thing or another to one another.

You have to stand out from the crowd. You can do this by positioning yourself as someone who has value to give as opposed to someone just trying to push product.

Having your own lead capture page offering some generic marketing information is great for this. And it has to be something that is more attractive and will get more clicks that your company’s replicated website.

And just because you’re showing people how to market and build their businesses doesn’t mean that you have to stick to “marketing” forums. You can literally go into any niche (and most have many forums dedicated to them) and still offer marketing advice to people on those forums and you’ll be able to attract people that might not have been exposed to how to build a business online before.

Here are some tips to maximize your forum marketing:

1. DO NOT SPAM THE FORUM!!! Make sure that you are not just pushing your product and blatantly pitching your deal or opportunity! That is a big turnoff!
2. Offer value to others. Remember that you are in a position to TEACH others and that you have many marketing gems that you can share with them. Be a source of encouragement, motivation, and inspiration.
3. Keep learning and educating yourself so that you can help others that are looking for answers. Do you feel that you don’t know enough to be teaching others? Pick a topic, do a bit of research, now you can teach it. Easy, right?
4. Make sure you have an Attraction Marketing Lead Capture Page and an Autoresponder so that you can capitalize on the traffic that your forum posts are getting, begin to build your list, and be viewed as a professional in the forum.

The last point above is a vital one. If you don’t have a self-branded lead capture page with an autoresponder setup…you are totally missing out.

If you’re anything like me, you were probably introduced to the concept of having your own network marketing home business and you fell in love with the idea of being your own boss, determining your own schedule, and being able to determine your income.

Most importantly you saw your network marketing home business as a vehicle that could provide you with more freedom to spend your time with the people that you love and be able to do the things that you love to do.

So, once you sign up…reality strikes!

How are you going to build your network marketing home business? How are you going to get the word out about your business and generate customers and income?

Are you going to market your network marketing home business offline or online? Are you going to contact warm market or cold market? If you’re planning on marketing online….will you be doing article marketing? video marketing? Facebook marketing? Twitter marketing? blogging? etc…etc…etc?

There are so many options for marketing your network marketing home business that it could literally cause you to freeze and do nothing. On top of that, if you were to do any type of research as to how best to build your business…you’d get a million different answers and suggestions. Some suggestions would be better than others…some will work, others won’t.

But, regardless of your marketing strategy (in my opinion…you should be doing a combination of online and offline) your success will be determined by how consistent you are in implementing the following 7 critical business building activities for your network marketing home business.

So What Are the 7 Critical Business Building Activities for Your Network Marketing Home Business?

1. Create Your Contact List

Whether you make a list of friends and family or you begin to connect with people online, your contact list needs to have names on it. Without a contact list your business will go nowhere. So start writing down some names of people that you know, people that you have met recently, people that you would like to meet, and then think of how you would like to approach them about your products and/or business.

2. Start Setting Appointments

Start going through your contact list and begin to set appointments for making presentations. It’s important that you understand that when calling your contact list your goal is not to make a presentation on the phone or through instant message….YOUR GOAL IS TO SET THE APPOINTMENT. It’s best to keep the conversations short and quick. Of course, most people will ask, “Well, what is it?”. My typical response is, “I’d love to explain it to you, but it’s more of a visual presentation with a few pictures and graphs and I can’t really describe those on the phone.” That way they understand that they have to “see” something, whether a flip chart, powerpoint, DVD, or webinar presentation.

3. Make Presentations for Your Network Marketing Home Business

The more presentations you make…the more money you will make. It’s a fact that not all of your scheduled appointments will show up or be there when they said they would, so the best thing you could do for your network marketing home business is to schedule tons of appointments so that you’ll have more presentations to make.

4. Follow Up

The follow-up is key. Typically, a person has to be introduced to a product, service, or idea more than once to finally be motivated to make a decision. So make sure that you follow up after you’ve made your presentation. This is important whether or not they joined your network marketing home business. If they said they had to think about it, follow up and ask if they’ve made a decision. If they did join your business, follow up and make a gameplan for your new team member. Either way…follow up is a major key to success.

5. Celebrate Success

Get some momentum going on your team by celebrating success. Do you have to wait until you’ve reached a high level in your network marketing business? No! Every positive step taken by you or one of your business partners is a success. Celebrate it. Recognize your team for what they are doing. If they feel appreciated and recognized…they will continue to push forward.

6. Mastermind

A mastermind is definitely a critical business building activity. This is where you can sit down and have a talk with your team to discuss what things are working and what areas need to focused on in helping the team. Marketing ideas and team building strategies can flow freely through a mastermind. Invite all on your team to take part in the mastermind to benefit fully from the synergy and see that your business truly is a team effort.

7. Lead By Example

Ever heard the expression, “I can’t hear what you’re saying because your actions are too loud.”? That thought highlights the importance of setting the example. Your actions will say more than words ever could.

If your team sees that you are implementing these 7 critical business building activities for your network marketing business…you will have a business that will grow with or without you and that will help you to achieve the freedom that you always wanted.

What in the world could selling snowballs to Eskimos have to do with your network marketing product?

Well, the idea of selling snowballs to Eskimos is pretty silly. I mean, what Eskimo in his right mind would want to buy a snowball when he literally has an unlimited supply of raw materials to make snowballs in his own backyard?

So, to sell snowballs to Eskimos, you’d have to be pretty good salesperson. You’d have to have one heck of a pitch, right?

On top of that you’d have to consider that if you did sell a few snowballs to a few Eskimos…it wouldn’t be long before they found out you were scamming them and you’d quickly be out of business.

BUT…

What if you told your first Eskimo prospect that if he helped you sell snowballs to his Eskimo friends that you would give him a cut of the commissions?

All he would have to do is tell his friends how much he loves your snowballs and how much better they are than the ones they can make in their own backyard.

And since the cost to manufacture your snowballs is so low, you can mark up the price pretty good. And you can ensure that you’re selling a bunch by requiring your new business partner to buy five cases of snowballs a month.

If he’s making some money, you can be pretty sure that he’ll stick to his story of how the snowballs are so great…and if he can offer other Eskimos the same deal he has of making referral commissions…then you’ll have the whole village talking about how great the snowballs are.

Everything looks like it’s working for you until everyone in the village is buying five cases a month and you run out of households (or iglooholds) to sell to. Well, now you have no one else to sell to and people are now stuck with garage fulls of snowballs and no one is making any more money…except you. You’ve made a ton of money. But, who cares that people are stuck with a bunch of products they can’t sell, right?

Where am I going with this?

Well, the honest truth is that many a network marketing product is just like that snowball. And the MLM companies that market that type of network marketing product, know that their product is of very little value in the real world and they know they have to sell a bunch of product before it goes out of style and people stop hyping it up.

So how can you recognize if your network marketing product is a snowball?

You can tell if your network marketing product is a snowball if you see these 6 clues:

1. Your network marketing product is a single product

Now this isn’t always the case. But usually a snowball company will have a sort of “miracle product”. They’ll laud the product as the ultimate cure for everything and usually comes in the form of a juice or pill.

2. Your network marketing product has a high ticket price

Usually a snowball product has a very high price. I’ve seen instances where a bottle of juice is sold for $40 dollars and yet it has less than $2 worth of ingredients in it. If you see this…run.

3. Your network marketing product promises to be a miracle cure

Don’t believe the hype. In order for these type of companies to sell their product they have to tell these hyped up, unbelievable stories about how great their product is and how it’s the miracle cure everyone has been waiting for.

4. High Purchase Requirements

When was the last time you bought snowballs of your own initiative? Snowballs are not something people would normally buy and use everyday, so for the company to be able to generate enough volume to keep the commission checks rolling, they usually require some sort of large monthly purchases on autoship.

5. You have to purchase case lots of your network marketing product

If you have several cases of your network marketing product in your home right now…you might have snowballs. Snowball companies require you to purchase case lots for the same reason that they have high purchase requirements…they need to make sales, and they are making a ton of sales to their distributors.

6. Your network marketing product does not come with a Money-Back Guarantee

Most snowball companies do not have a Money-Back Guarantee, and for good reason. They know their product doesn’t really have any lasting value and they don’t want to back it up with that kind of guarantee.

Why am I sharing this with you?

I wanted to point this information out to you because I personally know a lot of companies on the market right now are just selling snowballs.

They start out by promising that they have a great ground-floor opportunity and urging you to get in and be one of the first. But soon after they  move on to fresher grounds, possibly abandoning their existing customer base and loyal distributors and leaving them with nothing to show for their hard work.

I wanted to put this list together so that you can know a snowball when you see one.

In this post I want to talk to you about a crucial mindset change that, if performed, can and will make a drastic impact on your life and business.

Making this change can, and will, completely alter the way you view and approach future decisions, and it will result in your being able to better determine their outcome.

But first, let me ask you something, and please answer honestly…

Are you comfortable where you are currently in your business? Are you content with where you are currently in your life?

Whether you answered yes or no to the above questions, the reality is that you are where you are because of your current mindset. It was your mindset that determined the decisions you’ve made and the way you have perceived your life thus far.

So, if you want to improve any portion of your life, if you want to take your life and business in a different direction and be more in control of the results that you’re achieving, than you need to perform this crucial mindset change.

What is this crucial mindset change that will completely transform your life?

Well, before we get into that, let’s determine the mindset that the majority of those around us have. Yes, that’s right. Almost everyone around us has this mindset…a JOB MINDSET.

Since we were kids, we have been encouraged to do good in school, go to college, work a j-o-b for 40+ years, and then retire and do whatever we want with our time when our health and bodies can no longer keep up with our desires.

And because we are brought up that way those types of values can become deeply ingrained in us. That being the case, it can be difficult to diagnose ourselves as having a job mindset.

You might think that because you’ve started a business or consider yourself an entrepreneur that you don’t have a job mindset. But be careful, that’s not 100% true. You can have the desire to work for yourself and still have a job mindset.

Do you have the job mindset? Do you find yourself calling it quits once the clock says 5? Do you only do what is needed to accomplish a task or do you go above and beyond? Do you spend 8 hours a day organizing your desk, cleaning out your email inbox, or putting your files in order?

These are indications that you might be in need of a mindset change.

Having a JOB mentality will not help you to accomplish the things you want in your business. If you want to have a successful business in which you can determine your schedule and income, if you want to have a business that will continue to grow whether or not you are personally involved…then you have to get rid of the JOB mindset.

Enter the Entrepreneur Mindset Change

Yeah, that’s right. I said the Entrepreneur Mindset change. Now, in order to get rid of the JOB Mindset, you have to understand that developing the right kind of mindset means playing the game on an entirely different energy level.

When you develop the Entrepreneur Mindset you begin to view things in your life and business differently.

You no longer live in the mindset of trading time for money. With the mindset change to the entrepreneur mindset, you begin to think in terms of leveraging your time and leveraging your money.

For example, a true entrepreneur understands that it is better to get 1% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of his own efforts. So he goes out and teaches his organization how to do what he does and gets to benefit from the results of everyone’s efforts.

A person with the entrepreneur mindset doesn’t worry about not being able to afford something that he wants. He quickly begins to think of how he can afford something.

Instead of saying, “I can’t afford it”, he begins to ask, “How can I afford it? What do I need to do to afford it?”, and then he goes out and produces the results necessary to do it.

To have this mindset change is not a easy task. Is it simple? Yes. Is it easy? No.

In order to do so successfully, you have to surround yourself with people of like-mind. Surround yourself with other entrepreneurial minded people. This way you begin to see how other entrepreneurs handle certain situations and how they view and overcome certain obstacles in their paths and how they approach decisions.

What is that you say? You don’t have any entrepreneurial people that you can surround yourself with? Go to the library, Barnes& Noble, TED.com, YouTube, or Facebook and hang out with Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Ferriss, Jonathan Budd, Norbert Orlewicz, Brian Fanale, and other successful entrepreneurs.

By learning from their experiences, seeing what they do on a day to day basis, and getting into their heads…your mindset change will take place as fast as a cheetah on a sugar rush. There’s no holding you back.

Is there anything wrong with surrounding yourself with those of the JOB mindset? Not necessarily. But…you will want to keep it to a minimum. There’s no room for backtracking here.

So Are You Ready to Perform This Crucial Mindset Change?

I encourage you take inventory of your life right now. If you’re not where you want to be, there’s a reason. It’s not the economy. It’s not that people don’t like you. Hey…I like you. It’s your mindset.
