Hello. I have decided to start over, once again, and this time to focus on just one topic so I won’t lose my inspiration.

Lately, I’ve been trying to find some fonts to draw with. There have been some truly exeptional fonts, and I’d like to share them.

For the modern section:

MammaGamma v2

I like this font in general, except for the fact that the curvy ‘7′ doesn’t seem to match with the other numbers and letters. 4 1/2 stars.

For the cursive section:

Jonny Quest Classic

The font is great, and I like how it isn’t super curvy, like other cursive fonts. 4 stars.

For the box/rectangular section:

The good ol’ Porsche Font!

Well, the font looks like the Porsche logo, and it’s a great font! Introduced to me by my cousin Bailey while in Australia. 5 stars.

For the typewriter section:

Teletype!

It’s a plain font, easy to read. I recommend setting it as your default Notepad font. 4 stars.

Well, seeing as yesterday was MY BIRTHDAY (w00t!), I got to go see the Dark Knight. You know what that means, another review!

So, for those of you that don’t know, The Dark Knight is a Batman movie and the last Heath Ledger movie (RIP). I really liked how the movie started out. The Joker’s mob robs a bank, and start killing each other. The Joker rides a giant school bus into the bank. Later in the story, the story goes to more violent matters. Harvey Dent, a man with lots of pride, gets bombed and Rachel, his girlfriend gets killed. He recovers, but turns into a criminal known as “Two-Face” (because the other half of his face is dead and one of his eyeballs half sticks out), and starts killing people, depending on a lucky coin to decide if they live or die. The Batman starts not believing in himself, and the Joker starts killing multiple people. The ending was quite sad. The Joker almost kills Commissioner James Gordon and his family, but Batman saves them and drives away, the cops chasing after him. He dissapears into the distance.

Overall, it was a must see. It had action, romance, and a touch of comedy (the example is this quote:

Harvey Dent: You’re Alfred, right?
Alfred Pennyworth: That’s right, sir.
Harvey Dent: [about Rachel, his girlfriend that later gets killed and forces him to become Two-Face] Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?
Alfred Pennyworth: Oh, you have no idea.

The whole movie theater was ‘Hahaing’ and ‘Whoaing’ for a while after the movie ended. It’s a must see and I’d love to watch it again. The perfect family movie. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars. And I’d just like to end this review with a quote that really got me thinking:

“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

Yesterday, at my local library, there was an event where you could play Guitar Hero 3 for free. As a result, I would like to give yet another gaming review.

The game is based on, as the title says, “Legends of Rock”. That includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the famous song “Slow Ride” by Foghat.

There are 5 simple buttons, a whammy bar, and a thingy that you push as you play a note. The game starts out pretty easily. You play a song, and there is a bar. If it reaches the end of red, it’s game over for you. You press one of the five buttons and “the thingy” at the same time, and you try to hit all the notes you can. If there is a “long note” you can also rapidly press down the whammy bar at the same time to get extra points. If you hit a lot of notes correctly, you can activate “Star Power” which you use by moving your guitar upwards. In “Star Power” mode, points cound double. I found that it was suprisingly hard to use the guitar, probably because I had my puny hands were cold at the time.

In multiplayer mode, you can choose out of 3 modes, Face Off, Pro Face Off, or Battle.

In Face Off, you play half of the song, then your partner plays the other part. If one of you fails, you both fail, which makes it incredibly hard, because you will end up losing a lot.

In Pro Face Off, you and your partner play the song at the same time, and if one of you gets a note wrong, the other player can back you up.

In Battle, you and your friend go against each other. Instead of Star Power, you get powerups, such as broken string, which forces your opponent to mash a key a million times, till it gets fixed, or Whammy, which makes it so that your opponent has to do the same thing with the Whammy bar.

Now for the graphics section. You can pick your own character and clothes, ranging from the spoiled J-Pop girl to the tattoo guy with tons of mohawks. Although they did not look like real humans, I found that the graphics were comparable to the people in World of Warcraft. They can bend down and move just like regular people.

Overall, it was a must play, 5 stars. I’m even thinking of buying it myself.

Just remember, do NOT play Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce, because there was an experienced player playing there too, and he only got 51%!

So, it’s all happened to us before. You clicked on a link, which you thought leaded to some guys site, you end up on YouTube, watching a random video. Well, I’d like to say Happy 4th of July to those of you who read my blog. I really appreciate that you’ve stuck with me for so long (actually, only 3 months, but oh well. ). Remember, it’s America’s birthday today, and we shall all sing the birthday song to her.

After visiting Barnes and Noble for the first time in several months, I have decided to start reading manga again. After finishing 2 volumes of Bleach, I decided to try out .hack, which I heard was a good gaming manga. It wowed me. It seemed like the first book that had stood out to me in a long time. It’s about 2 teenagers, Rena and Shugo, who won two legendary dot hacker (basically the pros of the pros) accounts to a MMORPG called ‘The World’. After Shugo gets “killed”, Aura appears and gives Shugo the Twilight Bracelet. They embark on their journey to find out more about the bracelet, and make lots of new friends, such as Mireille the rare item hunter, and Ouka.

Overall, I think it’s a well balanced manga, it has adventure, romance, comedy, and even though it talks about things that aren’t manga-like, it still feels like a manga on the inside. I rate it 4 1/2 stars.

Well, since some of you must be wondering what browser to use after my ‘Teh Windows Tricks‘ post. That’s why I’ve decided to give a comparison of browsers today, judging from my personal experience.

Here is what my guidelines will be (All of them will be rated 0-5, with 0 being the worst):

Download/Upload Speed (Web page downloading/Uploading files)
Look (Customization, Themes, Extensions)
Startup Time/Sluggishness (Not much to say here )
Most Beginner Friendly (How simple it is)
HTML (How well things look in it)
JavaScript Speed (How fast certain boxes load)

Okay, let’s get started.

Internet Explorer 7:

Download/Upload Speed: 1. If you’ve never used another browser, IE7 will seem really fast, but as soon as you download another one, it will seem slow and useful.

Look: 1. I gave it a one because some people like the theme, but you are pretty much stuck with one theme. Not to mention, you can use a Firefox theme to emulate it (But why would you want to do that?).

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 3/4. From my experience, IE7 will startup faster than some browsers, such as Opera.

Most Beginner Friendly: 5. If you are a newbie, make sure you use this browser. It is the most simple browser you can find.

HTML: 1. I gave it a 1, because it’s as bad as you can go, except maybe IE6. Things will look bad and oddly placed.

JavaScript Speed: 2/3. Bad to okay speed.

Internet Explorer 6:

Download/Upload Speed: 0. Even worse than IE7.

Look: 0. Horrible theme, no customization.

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 1. Outrageously slow startup time.

Most Beginner Friendly: 5. Even better than IE7; even simpler.

HTML: 0. If things looked good in IE7, things would look bad in IE6. Unfortunately, IE7 already makes things look bad.

JavaScript Speed: 1. Worse than IE7, better than Opera.

Firefox 3:

Download/Upload Speed: 4. One of the fastest browsers I’ve ever seen.

Look: 5. Tons of extensions and themes, and they all have to be approved my Mozilla, so they’re all really cool/great.

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 3. Okay startup time, absolutely a HUGE difference between version 3 and 2’s speed. I’m not even going to make a review on Firefox 2/1, because 3 is just so much better.

Most Beginner Friendly: 0 to 1. Very advanced and complicated.

HTML: 4. Everything shows up perfect, but still looks a bit bad compared to Safari’s “text blurring feature”.

JavaScript Speed: 5. Fastest Javascript I’ve ever seen, except it just barely beat’s Safari’s JavaScript performance.

Safari 3:

Download/Upload Speed: 3 1/2 to 4. Almost as fast as Firefox.

Look: 2 to 3. Not customizeable, but many more people like this theme than IE7’s.

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 5. Fastest startup time I’ve ever seen.

Most Beginner Friendly: 3. Not too complicated, but it might be a little.

HTML: 5. Actually, the HTML is tied between Firefox and Safari, except Safari has a “text blurring feature” that makes text look cool.

JavaScript Speed: 4 1/2. Almost as good as Firefox.

Flock 1:

Download/Upload Speed: 4. Built on Firefox, so it’s the same speed as it.

Look: 5. Also customizable, but with different extensions/themes.

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 3. Same as Firefox.

Most Beginner Friendly: 0 to 1. Same as Firefox.

HTML: 4. Same as Firefox.

JavaScript Speed: 5. Same as Firefox.

Opera 9:

Download/Upload Speed: Fastest browser out there. (Even faster than Firefox)

Look: 4. Also has themes, just not as good as Firefox’s. However, Speed Dial, a sort-of “bookmark page”, makes up for the themes.

Startup Time/Sluggishness: 4. Above average startup time.

Most Beginner Friendly: 2. It’s pretty simple, but the keyboard shortcuts are a pain to remember.

HTML: 4. HTML is pretty much equal to Firefox’s.

JavaScript Speed: 0. Horrible JavaScript performance. Laggy and sluggish.

Well then…
Since you’ve read my reviews, you can now try them out yourself. I recommend using Firefox/Flock, Safari, and Opera in moderation, switching off when you want the best performance for what you’re doing. Once again, I hope you enjoy this post!
