The bride wore a gorgeous dress by Modern Trousseau which was purchased at the Plumed Serpent in Westport. Her belt is by Kleinfield Bridal. The ceremony and reception featured many traditions of the bride and groom's Persian heritage. The ceremony included a traditional sofreh, a cloth that is covered with symbols of marriage and love. Together these items represent purity and light. And the room was certainly filled with the light of their love. Happily married female members of the family ground two sugar cookies together representing sweet joy and happiness for the shared lifetime of the bride and groom. At the conclusion of the ceremony, both bride and groom dipped their fingers in honey and placed it in each other's mouth.

Tropical Flowers, New York City, created gorgeous arrangements including magenta orchids that captured the joy and energy of the happy couple and their guests. Exclusively Entertainment, from Washington, DC, provided music for the reception where everyone joined in the dancing and celebration of the marriage of the happy couple. Before the bride and groom could cut the cake, they had to bargain for the knife that had been hidden by the guests. Relatives and friends danced with the knife keeping it away from the couple until a bargain was reached and the knife was earned. The last dance featured two couples, both married 49 years, along with the bride and groom, a shared sweetness that filled the evening.

Their playful affection is infectious, and their love for each other is evident in every smile and glance that they share. You can't help but feel happy when you are with them and their wedding day was no exception.

Both bride and groom have a fondness for all things pink. They carried the rosy theme throughout their summer wedding with fanciful details from the pink seersucker jacket worn by the groom to the blush fans that cooled the guests at Westport Connecticut's The Inn at Longshore. As if on cue, a sailboat with billowed pink sails crossed the harbor during the ceremony which was held overlooking the sparkling Long Island Sound. Katherine of KD&J Botanica worked her mirthful magic with lush bouquets of peonies, roses and fragrant sweet peas. The groomsmens' boutonnieres featured pink ipod shuffles, a nod to their Apple Store engagement.

At the reception, there was ample dancing and much laughter as guests shared in the delight of this happy couple. The bride and groom enjoyed a slice of their four-tier cake from Momofuku Milk Bar and celebrated the beginning of what will certainly be a rosy future.
