She’s also been looking at a new car- hers has over 100,000 miles and it won’t be too long before it needs replaced.  She wants to get a hybrid car, like a hybrid Honda Civic or a toyota prius, because most of her driving is in the city.  She’s been looking at car photos and facts.  Luckily it is not too critical, since she doesn’t need the car yet, but it is definitely on her radar!

The power cord on my laptop has quit working entirely.

It became kinda flakey earlier on this trip and I ordered another cable on Ebay, so that will be waiting for me at home…

but until then I really need more battery than what I have.

I know many people see gambling as entertainment, and I guess I can see their point.  But I like to choose entertainment that does not cost money, and does not have a risk of addiction!  I don’t want to get trapped in a pokerstars rakeback or something like that!

Though I guess my “entertainment” of buying my electronic toys does cost money… and it is *kinda* addictive… but I don’t think it is nearly as damaging as gambling addiction!

This morning, my family and I toured Quebec’s House of Parliament, then walked around “old” Quebec.  This afternoon we went to an art museum.  It was all fun.  I just can’t think of much to say about it.

We saw a bunch of street performers in the old town, and I just thought… man, I’m glad I can write.  Some of those jobs just looked so awful.  I mean, in a way I guess a job’s a job, but at the same time… I would NOT want to stand perfectly still all day for my job.

There is a unicyclist on TV.  I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride a unicycle.  I never bought one though… as much as I would like to learn, I can’t imagine myself using it enough to justify the space and money required.  It’s kind of a parlor toy, ya know?

That reminds me.  I also want to learn to juggle.  I have attempted to teach myself but I have never successfully learned.  So maybe one of these days I will try to teach myself again!

But, yesterday and today we got into visiting the sites and had a lot of fun.  We visited the Plains of Abraham and the museum of Civilizations- technically all the names are in French, but I sure don’t know them! (yo hablo espanol!!)  The best part, though, was in the evening when my family and I went to the Montmorency Falls.  It was lots of fun, and I guarantee I will write more about it later!

So I’ve been pondering what I want in my replacement camera.  In a perfect world, I could buy both a small pocket point and shoot and a full sized digital SLR.  However, it’s not a perfect world and my bank account just can’t handle all that.  After much thought, I’ve decided that I just can’t get the digital SLR yet.  I would love to buy it- I just can’t afford it.  But I really need to get a small camera that I can carry around with me.

But that’s not the end!  There are so many types of decisions within that.  Do I want a long zoom lens or a macro lens?  Do I want AA batteries or rechargeable batteries?  Do I want a camera that uses SD cards or memory sticks?  With all these choices, it could be awhile before I can choose a camera.  Luckily I found a site online that provides reviews and recommendations by brand- so I can read recommendations for canon cameras, recommendations for sony cameras, recommendations for panasonic cameras, recommendations for nikon cameras, and so forth.  That’s also good because I haven’t decided what brand I will purchase yet.  My sony camera was pretty good, but right now I’m using a borrowed Canon that is pretty nice.  My sister has a Pentax that is pretty nice.  I’ve read many positive reviews about nikon.  There are just lots of decisions- I don’t know what is best!!
