Lindsey and Steven met up with us in Old Town Suwanee for some engagement fun! I had never shot in this location before, so it was fun working in a new spot near my backdoor! This session was so much fun…. and DIFFERENT! Valerie had the great idea of contacting the Gwinnett Braves to see if they would let us inside to do an engagement session on their turf. They said YES (after Valerie said yes to Ben) and gave us free reign to walk around wherever we’d like (even with little Doyle tagging along!)! The baseball stadium made the perfect backdrop for this super cute couple who are huge Braves fans! Thanks so much to the G-Braves for letting us use their beautiful stadium!

Morgan and Michael came all the way from London to get married in North Carolina! Seriously! Morgan got relocated to London for her job last year, and came back to the states to celebrate her wedding with friends and family. They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spring day! They chose the Lake Lure Inn to host their day in the mountains of North Carolina. The Inn is actually where Dirty Dancing was shot many moons ago! Enjoy looking through the images below! I trashed my wedding dress…. but not really.

This is something I always knew I would do. You ask why, I ask why not? What are you going to do with your wedding gown. Let it sit in a basement collecting dust and hope that your daughter will one day wear it? Cut it apart to bits and pieces to try to make something else of it? Well, I say why not make memories and art in the dress! I packed up my gown in it’s garment bag and took it on our honeymoon to Tulum Mexico! It was hilarious walking through two airports with the dress. Everyone kept asking me when the big day was, and I said two days ago. We got many questioning faces! It was hilarious.

For those of you who don’t know my full story of how I got into this business, I worked for Matt Adcock for four years while he was shooting weddings in the Atlanta area. I was fresh out of college and basically learned the ropes from this guy. He shot a wedding in Mexico, and met the lovely Sol Tamargo (who lived in Mexico) and they started a romance, fell in love, and he moved to Mexico and del Sol photography was formed! I stayed behind in Atlanta and got my Melissa Prosser Photography going, and they have TOOK OVER the Riveria Maya region of Mexico! They shoot a crazy amount of weddings each year, have associate photographers, and do the best trash the dress sessions I have ever seen! I am so excited that I got to be one of their mermaid brides! Also, did I mention my dress survived? We rinsed it off in the shower and let it dry! It’s still in great shape!

Most of their underwater sessions are done in a Cenote. These underground caves are EVERYWHERE in the Riviera Maya! It is an underground river system that is full of beauty.
I love these two shots. I was so excited to see how my big tulle gown would look underwater! It didn’t disappoint. I adore Bobby’s expression above.The light coming in from above is surreal!You can always count on some unsuspecting tourists! I love Joe 6 pack over there…We then hit the beach to have some more fun!Love the locals!Thank you SO MUCH Mateo and Sol for making these memories for us! We love you guys!

Scoobie West | Makeup Artist

I would like you all to meet Mr. Scoobie West, another fabulous vendor with StudioWed Atlanta! Scoobie and I have worked together on several weddings before, so when I saw he needed someone to do a few photos of him doing a makeup trial I of course jumped to take the images! His makeup/hair artistry is absolutely stunning! Today we were showcasing how to do a fresh, clean, beautiful face (with a good lip of course!)I LOVE this pink lip below! Way to rock it out Scoobie!

A trip to the train museum!

My sister made an impromptu visit to come up to see the Southeastern Railway Museum! We had a blast walking around and looking at the trains. The boys were just in awe! And yes, we even got a ticket and got to ride the train

I finally found the man of my dreams! On February 18, 2012 I became Mrs. Robert Collazo We met on e-harmony, got engaged in four months, and 8 months later got married! When you know, you know! My turn on the other side of the camera was so much fun!

Since I have seen SO MANY weddings, I knew exactly what I didn’t want. Haha! I wanted our wedding to be unique, and for everyone to really see our personalities (or I guess mine more so, Bobby just wanted me to have everything how I wanted. Good husband!) shine. Since I was a little girl, I have always been a huge Wizard of Oz fan. So a wedding in the Emerald City we had! Complete with jeweled shoes

We could not have had a better team of vendors!

King Plow Arts Center | Bold American Catering set the perfect backdrop and yummy food for our day.

Paper Parfait made all of our beautiful programs, invitations, and signage for the day.

Ciao Bella Weddings did all our beautiful design, set up, flowers, candles, practically helped plan the wedding!

Gretchen Zarett did all of our hair and makeup flawlessly.

Project Duo helped capture all of these beautiful photos so we can remember for years to come!

I found these shoes on Etsy. I even wore them to church on Easter Ciao Bella made these BEAUTIFUL bouquets! We chose to do a poppy look Gretchen did a fabulous job on my hair and makeup! Thanks for making me look like a princess!I can’t say enough good words about Paper Parfait. Sirmantha took my crazy tornado invitation idea and hit it out of the park!My handsome hubby!Our wedding party consisted of my sister Amber, my lifelong friend Kristi that I have known from fourth grade onward, and Bobby’s two brothers Teddy and Danny.We had a ring blessing ceremony where the rings were passed amongst our guests so they could put their prayers and blessings on our marriage. The Emerald City!My dad made our beautiful wedding cake. When I saw it before the ceremony I cried. I cried on and off all day though…We even had the doors to the city!I can’t believe I have been married almost two months already. The day was completely amazing, but goes by SO FAST! Advice to all my brides, breathe, take it all in, your wedding only happens for one day! I am so glad we have great photos to cherish. I appreciate my job even more after getting married than I did before. Bobby, I love you with all my heart and know our journey through life will be incredible. Thank you for asking me to marry you!

My Quiny turns 3!

A few weekends ago Bobby and I made the trip south to Macon to see my little newphew Quin who just turned THREE! Way to make Auntie M feel old! LOL. The cherry blossom festival was also in town, so we went over to see the balloons and have some fun!

The festival had so many awesome balloons! One they had was a “cold air” balloon that the kids could run around and play in. Quin LOVED IT!These boys adore their Uncle Bobby!A monster balloon! We had to leave before they took off, but next year we will go back later to see them take flight!Macon is COVERED with beautiful Cherry Blossom trees this time of year.Time for a birthday party! Our theme… Come play in the dirt with me!Can you tell little Bobby had a blast?Quin loved his Grady cupcakes.Super Quin to the rescue! He is obsessed with super heros these days…

I met the lovely Keshawn at one of StudioWed Atlanta’s events last year. We hit it off, and she became my client! When I met JR and her for a consultation I just KNEW they were going to be a fun couple! I can’t wait for their wedding at Millennium gate this September! We shot their engagement session in downtown Norcross and the coffee shop 45 South was so sweet to let us use their space!
