		&lt;p&gt;&amp;#8220;Sitting in office chairs for prolonged periods of time can definitely cause low back pain or worsen an existing back or neck problem. This is because sitting is a static posture that increases stress in the back, neck, shoulders, arms and legs, and in particular, can add large amounts of pressure to the back muscles and spinal discs. Moreover, when sitting in an office chair for a long period, the natural tendency for most people is to slouch over or slouch down in the chair, and this posture can overstretch the spinal ligaments and strain the discs and surrounding structures in the spine. Over time, incorrect sitting posture and workplace ergonomics can damage spinal structures and contribute to or exacerbate recurrent episodes of back pain.&amp;#8221;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Dr. Simmer was the guest Health &amp; Science lecturer for &lt;a href="http://www.bloomington.k12.mn.us/indschool/PB/PBGrade2Classrooms.htm"&gt;Ms. Johnson&amp;#8217;s 2nd grade class at Poplar Bridge Elementary School&lt;/a&gt; on Thursday the 19th. Nothing beats a room full of 8-year-olds for energy and enthusiasm! As he talked about sugar (&amp;#8220;it&amp;#8217;s used by your body like fuel, but just like trying to put too much gas in a car, a lot of sugar isn&amp;#8217;t good for you&amp;#8221;), nutrition and exercise, the kids chimed in with great suggestions for how to run around outside and which foods are the best ones for your body.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;As we now know, nutritional health involves much more than just how much fat one eats &amp;#8211; high-sugar diets lead to greater obesity, and high-sugar eating habits when kids are young become high-sugar eating habits as they get older.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;p&gt;Are you a parent? You absolutely need to design a healthy food plan for your kids. Though it may not be as convenient as McFood, it will make a world of difference for your child&amp;#8217;s health.&lt;/p&gt;
