In my case, I had been planning to turn this into a paid membership site, with the membership renewal fee set at only $10/month. However, recent events have forced me to change my thinking…Vic from BU opening up “the academy” for $10/month means I’m selling an inferior product at the same price. Also, I reviewed some of my strategies and realized that there are select strategies that are more valuable to me then the few hundred I might earn giving it away. I also realized that it’s very difficult to sell advanced tips along with beginner tips.

What I’m saying here is that my recent revelation has led me to change plans for MEM. Instead of being a paid membership site for advanced users, it will help beginners (our MEM newbies) get off the ground. Once they have their money raking machines in place, I’ll redirect them to one of our friends who is set up to teach advanced techniques.

Since no one is paying for information, I can take my time creating this site and getting it ranked which is the best option for me consider my crazy hectic scheduele.

Additionally, I have a two pronged strategy for getting MEM off the ground. Firstly, the long term goal is to rank well in the SERPs for make extra money. That’s obvious enough. The second method is more unorthodox and something that I hope to teach–traffic funneling & redirection.

Just a quick status update here. There are very few human visitors, since I haven’t started directing traffic here. Before I do that I need to create base content–the basic articles

The next steps in the series are explained, along with the rationale behind choosing a niche. Guys, pick the wrong niche and your website will not make money. Pick the right one and you will be rolling in it.

Here are resources to use when picking a niche:

• Ebay category listings

This is a gold mine of potential niches that can easily be used with your BANS stores

• Clickbank

Go to the Cbank marketplace and see what kind of affiliate promotions are being offered. This might help you find new niches and if you end up in that niche you’ll have an affiliate product to sell!

• Google

If no ads show up, there’s probably not a whole lot of advertiser competition in this niche

• Adwords Tool

Go to website content and enter the wikipedia page URL here. Then click on the dropdown menu and allow it to show max CPC and ad positions. Then set your maximum cpc ~ 0.5 and see what you get. Check what the CPC is and how much advertiser competition is going on.

This step might be a little complex, but I cover how to use this tool fully in the next video post.

That’s all there is to choosing a website niche. Remember, if you’re serious about making extra money using the internet, then you better take the website planning phase seriously.

Those who are stuck in the get rich quick fantasy will push onto you PPC and affiliate schemes to show you that it is possible to make money quickly. This is of course, completely ridiculous. Sure, for those PPC experts who know the ins and outs of Google Adwords, Pay Per Click marketing is fantastic. For the rest of us, Google gets rich.

Instead, the key to making money using the internet is SEO. Getting a solid search engine ranking will get us free, targetted traffic, which is exactly what we’re looking for. Why don’t the flashy ebooks tell you this? Because this method can’t be done overnight. Instead, this has to be worked on over a period of months with a predetermined system.

I want to take a minute to talk about someone who has helped me infinitely in the realm of making money using the internet: a grizzly bear. No, he’s not actually a bear, but the entrepreneur known as Griz is one of the few people on the internet who is willing to share his invaluable secrets with anyone willing to put in the 3 hours it takes to read one of his posts (no joke).

I personally think he’s crazy–the tips he gives away for FREE are worth thousands to anyone who is looking to make money using the internet and his blog on how to make money is a must read for anyone serious about making extra money on the internet.

I was skeptical when I first saw his awful ugly blog theme, but once I started reading I learned more about Google, SEO and making money than I could have ever imagined. I owe a lot of my recent online success to Griz and if you have half a brain, you’d be subscribing to his RSS feed and reading his every word.

Now back to me.

The business plan that I teach mimics what has worked for me: dominating the search engines is the way to go. A lot of people mistake Google rankings as sporadic or fickle but that’s because they don’t understand the system.

Once one of my sites is established and starts receiving Google Love, I can predict fairly accurately how many Google visitors it will get every single day.

This is not hard. Building these websites is not rocket science, everyone and anyone can do it, you just need to be willing to give yourself time to see success.

Your goal for making money should be to make extra money slowly, not get rich quick.

I want to point out one of my frustrations with a lot of these membership sites and ebooks about earning a passive income online. First of all, most of these people have no idea what the hell they’re talking about.

But the second part is that all of these ebooks and courses are identical: they cater to complete newbies who know nothing about how to make extra money. So they’ll spend 3/4ths of their course teaching you the most basic skills ever: how to use a keyboard, how to buy hosting, etc. They try to make this look SO complex that anyone reading will just give up and will never realize that the whole thing is a money making scam.

On top of that instead of showing you exactly how to make extra money, they’ll sell you a bunch of crap that you don’t need and will never help you.

This is my promise to you: I’m going to show you SIMPLIFIED SYSTEMS to make extra money. There will be one section of this site dedicated to total beginners to help them get up to speed with the rest of us. I’m the owner of make extra money (MEM), a group I want to start to help build a network of webmasters who are all informed on ways to make extra money using the internet.

If you’re viewing this page, you probably fit into one of two groups:

1) You’re completely new to making money on the internet, you have no idea how to do it but you’re interested in learning how to use computers to make extra money.

2) You’re a webmaster or blogger who was lured into this business by the promise of being able to earn passive income and make money blogging but after all your efforts you barely make any money.

What is make extra money?

MEM is a premium content website started for people who fit into these two groups. I wanted to be able to share with people the systems for creating online businesses that help you to make extra money. I also wanted an environment where like-minded people who were trying to earn extra income could come together to talk about the different ways to make extra money.

I know a lot of you may be lured into the “get rich quick schemes” that populate the internet. I’m sorry to tell you that this ladies & gents is impossible.
