In order to make all of this a little less confusing for everyone, and to make it all a little easier on us, we will no longer be closing submissions between issues. If you have a story that you think will work for us, send it in. We’ll either accept it for a future issue or let you know it doesn’t work for us at the moment. We’re also going to be releasing each issue on the 1st of the month, so the next issue will be out on August 1st.

Our upcoming theme is still “Activism or the Trickster” and we’ll read submissions up until it’s time to start coding the issue, so if you missed the deadline, please go ahead and send in your story, poem, piece of art, music, or video. If you’ve already sent it and haven’t heard from us, we’re reading now and will respond by the 25th.

Our November 1 issue will be “This is our Glorious Future or Steampunk.” If you have a work of some sort that would be appropriate to that issue, go ahead and send it now if you’d like. We’re looking forward to seeing what you all do with it.

If you know of an artist, musician, animator or other artist we might like to feature in our pages, drop us a note or leave a comment. We’d love the help stalking the wee beasties.

He posts an installment and then readers vote on the next plot point and he goes on from there. I certainly enjoyed the first installment of Living. Check it out.

Catherine Lundoff has a charming short regency with good historical detail, Masquerade, in the lesbian-themed “The Wry Writer,” and the story Poison, a contemporary by Nairne Holtz, is stunning. TWW also publishes articles and features, book reviews, and interviews, and is nicely illustrated as well.

Of course, don’t forget that you have the opportunity to win a copy of The Revenant Road, the humorous horror by Michael Boatman, or Fire and Shadow, the YA romantic fantasy by Imogen Howson, or Closing Arguments, the urban fantasy/mystery by Sarah Avery during the Drollerie Press chat Sunday, June 1 at 4pm EDT in their chat room. The link will be in the sidebar at http://drolleriepress.com/Interact.

Well, a huge influx of submissions, a nasty sinus infection, a lot of whining–and then WordPress sends out this pretty new update, 2.5, and I wasn’t going to do it. I wasn’t going to update yet, but hey, what can it hurt?

Well, now I know what it can hurt.

I killed the website. Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, I did it. I confess. Membra Disjecta is a zombie publication. Zombies, however, aren’t our theme for this issue, so we’re running around like headless chickens (see? Zombie. We did the wrong ceremony) making it right; transforming it, if you’ll pardon the pun, into the transformation-themed issue we intended. We expect the new issue will be up shortly and will not want to eat your brains. Much.

Disclaimer: No actual chickens were harmed in the mutilation of this publication. It is 99% guaranteed to eat no more of your brain cells than you can actually spare. There are no warranties expressed or implied in this disclaimer. Use at your own risk.
