Palawan. More Fun in the Philippines!!!

Raven and I went to Palawan last month to celebrate our anniversary. We went to Puerto Princesa Underground River, we toured the islands in Honda Bay, and we also roamed around Puerto Princesa to really experience that It’s More Fun In The Philippines.

In the tradition of my six cafe world cheats, six free android fix, six free wow mount, my free six video, and six tagalog love quotes posts, I am sharing some six pictures from Palawan.
First is the rock lobster we had in Isla Pandan during our Honda Bay Tour

Add up some Alimasag (Crabs) too

And the other fare that we had for lunch in Isla Pandan (shrimp, pork chop, inihaw na isda atbp.)

Next pit stop is Badjao Seafront Restaurant, a must visit resto when you are in Puerto Princesa Palawan.

We had Spicy Squid, Garlic and Butter Lobster (again haha), Eggplant salad (see I’m eating veggies now) and local clam soup.

Last 2 pics taken at Kalui, another must visit resto when you are in Puerto Princesa Palawan.

The garlic prawn we had was really good!

And our Fruit Bowl dessert was really unique!

The Palawan pics share seems to be “bitin” (limited by free six series ) .

Will try to sort more photos and post more about our great Palawan experience in the future (maybe a part 2 and part 3 will be coming soon).

For those who have not visited Palawan yet, I suggest you start planning as soon as possible.

Angry Birds is now on Facebook!!! It all started on Valentine’ Day last week, I blogged about it here.

#3. King Sling Power Up will boost and get you maximum velocity

#4. Sling Scope Power Up will help you target the Bad Piggies more accurately, so that you don’t shoot in the dark

#5. Super Seed Power Up will literally Super Size your Angry Birds

#6. And last but not the least: Do not cheat! Why? Cheaters never win!!!!

Angry Birds is a fun game and Facebook Angry Birds adds the social and friends dimension, so enjoy the game with your Facebook friends. Keeping the security mindset (always a core message for this blog), I highly recommend that you DO NOT run executable programs/apps that supposedly will do some magic trick for your Facebook Angry Birds. There are sites that are offering these kinds of tools and cheat engines and my advise is stay on the safe side. If you cannot determine if the app is good or bad (by knowing exactly what the app/exe is doing on the system/registry level (via reverse engineering or system monitoring, etc.) then DO NOT try to run it in your machine (whether you got a PC or Mac). Btw, this applies to your Android and iOS devices too! There are a lots of malware, spyware, keyloggers, and trojan downloaders out there that are masquerading as cheat tools and engines and fan apps.

HijackThis Is Now Open Source

If you love to do computer diagnostics for possible malware and spyware infection, you will definitely know the HijackThis tool.

HijackThis (or HJT as we fondly call it) is a free tool that scans the computer to find software settings changed by malicious files (read malware, spyware and other potentially unwanted programs). HijackThis also have a good reporting tool that enables the community of experts to analyze and provide fix to the problem.

As per Trend Micro press release last Feb. 17, 2012, HijackThis is now an open source application and the Hijackthis source code is available via sourceforge.net.

Quoting the press release:

Trend Micro has offered HijackThis as a free tool since acquiring the antispyware freeware tool from its Netherlands-based creator, Merijn Bellekom in 2007. By then, it had already been downloaded more than 10 million times and was often used to submit logs to online discussion and help forums, such as Castlecops.com, Majorgeeks.com and Spywareinfo.com, to elicit comments that could help in cleaning infected desktops.

The press release also quoted the original HijackThis creator, Merijn Bellekom saying “This means that other people can build on a solid base to create or improve their own anti-malware tools”.

In my opinion this is really good news for the security community as a lot of online help forums (not just Castlecops, Majorgeeks and Spywareinfo community) uses the tool heavily. A win-win for Trend Micro and the infosec community if you will ask me

Angry Birds Space Launch on March 22

Our favorite furious fowl, Angry Birds, is launching into orbit this March 22, 2012.

Meet the newest addition to the Angry Birds family: Angry Birds Space!!!

Quoting the official Rovio Blog:

We are VERY excited to announce our next game: Angry Birds Space! It’s going to be the biggest game launch since the original Angry Birds!

Angry Birds Space is a completely new game with innovative new gameplay, but with some of the familiar Angry Birds elements that fans already know and love — plus some surprises!

Wow! The Angry Birds are conquering the outer space now! Exciting!

Rovio is keeping the excitement on a high level and did not share much details about the newest game. The Angry Birds Space video teaser just shared the subtitle “Its one small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind“.

They also promised announce more information early March, and on launch date (March 22) they will launch Angry Birds Space simultaneously in mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing.

My question to Rovio folks: Will we also be seeing the cute angry pigs in Angry Birds Space?

I will definitely keep an eye out for this newest Angry Birds Space game.

Hopefully they also release simultaneously in Android, iOS and other platforms.

Rebuilding the Broken Links Page

I messed up my links and blogroll page last month when I was experimenting with my blog migration and other blog settings.

Good thing I found some workaround solution recently (this may be worth another post in the future) but the restoration entails a lot of manual work and I am just doing it over the weekends.
